Byakuran Usotsuki LV. 9 Experience: 207/500 Hp: 144 Cp: 204-195=9 cp remaining MHp: 117 -97= 20 MHP remaining Dodge Bonus: 20 See through Clones DC: *Posting clones rolls separate* Water Clone 1-14 hp: Minimum, 28 Byakuran suddenly felt the oncoming rush...a strange sensation falling around him. Genjutsu...but... it was so powerful. He couldn't even began to cast it off. It was an illusion that was too great to merely throw off and he hadn't yet mastered the technique which allowed one to use their own chakra... he suddenly however...fell cold. The leaves flowed up around him, but his focus was already supplanted on the figure towering over him...towering over him... "Hn..." the cold eyes of Senkyoku Otobe...no, the Black sonata, stared down at him, his face covered in blood. "Wow...are you still alive...? That's surprising." Byakuran was frozen, he couldn't even move. It was just an illusion...he wasn't really here. This wasn't real. "I thought you'd be dead for sure Bya-nii. What's the matter...you're shaking." his voice seemed to be without soul...without feeling. "Is it this...?" he slowly held up their mother's head. "Oh...sorry about that...I meant to throw it away...oops..." his face still empty, he almost childishly tossed the bleeding remains aside. "So...why are you just standing there? You should be killing that girl." "I..." Byakuran couldn't think straight, all he saw, all he could comprehend, was his brother standing before him. "Senkyo-nii..." he couldn't even see anything else anymore. "You should just kill her. Get it over with. Geeeez. You're always so slow Bya-nii. Just cut her into pieces...it's easy. Promise." "I...don't want to hurt them." Byakuran's words surprised even himself. "Oooooh? You don't? But you have to. You're an Otobe. Otobe's obey and do as the clan commands. Don't you want to be like me?" "No...I don't...I won't become LIKE YOU! You...YOU KILLED ALL HOSE PEOPLE FOR NO REASON!! WHY!!!??? THEIR SOUNDS FOREVER SILENCED!" Senkyo tilted his head oddly. "Why...? Do I need a reason...? Because Papa told me too. But don't worry Bya-kun. I love you more than Papa. That's why when they sent you away I ripped them into pieces...did you get the letter? Do you know?" Byakuran was trembling, his face covered in terror. "You...yes...I know..." "See? So there's nothing to worry about. I'll always protect you. Just obey the clan's wishes. Send them the jutsu in your coat to them...rip these people apart and burn their village...only we of the clan are fit to rule over our fellow man. Obey. You...are an Otobe." "I...I...." Byakuran's eyes seemed to bulge slightly. 'I am an Otobe' 'I will obey' 'I have no will' 'I am nothing' I am...a puppet...' "Are these...supposed to be my thoughts...that I am nothing...that I am a puppet...?" Byakuran's eyes seemed to grow even darker. "No...I...I will kill every last one of you...I will kill all those who walk this earth who can hear as I hear, who sing with this same accursed voice...I...WILL KILL THE OTOBE!!!" He felt weak...trembling, but his eyes were seeing red. All he could see was his brother before him, his brother, the monster...the tool of the clan. "Mizu Bunshin no Jutsu!!!!" There was a roar of chakra around the boy's frame as water ripped the moist earth, the air around him, and from his own chakra, gathering together in a strange hiss of killer intent and chakra, the boy was quite suddenly far from alone on the battle field. Surrounding him now, containing the bulk if not all of the boy's chakra, were 13 Water clones to join the one that he had already had on the field. The 14 Byakurans, joined with the original, made a total of 15 on the field, and all of them besides the original still had their head in the game. Byakuran's plan was simple...it was, in a word, his only chance at actual success in this task. Though the clones were individually weak, though he had only put in the minimum chakra to sustain them, as together, as a division, as a unit, they had a far better chance at grabbing the Charm then they ever would actually trying to engage this woman head on, and actually harming a ninja so far above him in skill level was absurd. But...the best that they could do was all they could do...and this was all that they could do... they charged, grabbing for the charm, they're only prayer at victory through luck and numbers. "You know" "Sensei" "we aren't foolish enough" "To think we have a prayer at so much" "As putting a scratch on that pretty face of yours." "Not that we find your face pretty..." "Because...we don't..." "Maybe a little..." "The point is that we know well that this is a fight we cannot win...so our victory our only hope...is to lay just one hand...ON THAT CHARM!" the clones rushed forward, darting like a wave of advancing...Byakurans, rather, their hands moving forth rapidly in a mad attempt to snatch the charm... the wave passed, the clones scattering as each of them held their hands open, empty... Save one. The First Clone, the one that that had been closest and already tried to grapple her seemed to have used the others as a distraction... and with a smirk, he held up the charm. "Heh...I suppose miracles do happen..." Suiton: Mizu Bunshin no Jutsu (Water Release: Water Doppelganger Technique) User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. click to show. The technique creates clones out of water. Like other solid clone techniques, the clones can be used to perform tasks the user is unable or unwilling to do for themselves. The range of the clone is limited however, as it can not travel very far from the original body without losing control. Additionally, water clones only have a fraction of the original person's power. Like other clone techniques, if the water clones are injured enough they will revert back to normal water. 椿百合子 Tsubaki Yuriko Hp: 630 / 630 Cp: 813 / 840 MHp: 780 / 780[ Music][-29 Cp] After suffering the first wave of her genjutsu, the boy had clearly become desperate. She watched as he summoned up the remainder of his chakra in an attempt to grab the charm. Despite her keen intellect, keeping track of 15 moving enemies was an incredible difficult feet for one with a sensory technique. While she was busy dodging all of them one of the clones managed to loose the charm from her belt. Once the clone had it in hand, the charm was raised up high in victory for the others to see. [Reflex check DC :38 vs 27, failed] The words "Doton: Shinju Zanshu no Jutsu" punctuated the words "miracles do happen" as Yuriko's hand shot out of the ground and grabbed the leg of clone. She then pulled it down so that only the clone's raised arm was above the surface. With the clone rendered immobile she snatched the charm back and tied it back to her side again. During the attack off all the clones, she had used the Kawarimi no Jutsu and switched out with a log. Due to the clone holding up the charm she was able to easily identify her target and quickly perform the Doton: Shinju Zanshu no Jutsu. Good effort kid... she thought as she looked for Byakuran to finish the bout. [int check: 24 vs 8 + 9 + 1D20] Due to sheer number of clones and her switch to the underground she had lost track of the real one among the copies, so despite her best efforts he would remain hidden for just a little while longer. So how good is your endurance after making all those clones Byakuran-kun? she asked herself. [Dodge check DC | 28 + 1 D20: will edit with resultKawarimi no Jutsu This is a technique that usually confuses the attacker. The user quickly projects themselves with another nearby object such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach, leaving the opponent open to a counter-attack. Cp cost: 4 Dice Rolls: n/a Damage: n/a Requirements: Learn in the academy. Chakra Control 3 Training: 1 stage Stage I: Chakra Control DC 15 Your sensei will attack you but leave an opening. Use the opening to conceal yourself, quickly replacing yourself with a nearby object. Then you can counterattack! Special: This attack is considered as having been used during your opponent's turn. (It does not use up your attacks for your turn). Can only be used if all of the opponent's attacks have missed. Allows user to go into hiding. If user wishes to flee, he gets an extra initial roll. If he wishes to attack, his next attack is considered a Sneak Attack. Doton: Shinju Zanshu no Jutsu After performing a series of hand seals and raising his chakra, the ninja is buried underground using his chakra. He can then move freely inside the ground, as if he was outside, due to the chakra which "makes way" for him/her. After the ninja feels he is below his opponent, he just raises his hand and grabs his opponent's feet, then buries him underground, leaving his head on the surface. This leaves a normal Shinobi open for a powerful attack, but a powerful one can use chakra and raise himself up to the ground, preventing the attack. An experienced shinobi can also predict the attack, by sensing the opponent's chakra, so this move is really only effective on younger ninjas. Cp cost: 25 Damage: ---- Dice Rolls: 2 Reflex DC: 10 + chk modifier + 2 per 10 ranks in Ninjutsu Escape Artist DC: 12 + chk modifier {No Ninjutsu bonus} Special: Enemy is rendered immobile when victim of this jutsu. Kuro Ikkou no Jutsu This Jutsu, while simplistic, can also act as a reflection of a Genjutsu user's talent. The aim of this genjutsu is primitive, but the effects can be devastating in the hands of a master. While not showing any horrible visions or disrupting the person’s perception directly, it causes the person to think things he or she would normally find unthinkable; murdering their own family, killing their closest friend, betraying their lover. The stronger the user of this jutsu is the more the person is consumed by this terrible thought, and the more it damages their psyche. Cp Cost: 15 + 5 per turn the technique is continued. Dice Rolls: 2 Damage: 15 - 30 + 16 per turn. Will Save DC: 10 + 16 + 2 per 10 ranks in Genjutsu (10) = 36 Special: If jutsu is maintained for more than 3 turns, the opponent becomes Frightened (-2 to all rolls).

He tried to dodge it, but he was too late. The bob tag went off and sent Tenshi flying. He hit the ground pretty hard, and he was slightly dizzy. Damn... that kind of hurt... Now to go hide...
Training: Hide and Seek Details: Mizuiro and Tenshi have been instructed to play hide and seek. Each turn the seeker will roll 1D20 + Awareness vs 1D20 + Stealth. Both genin may use what ever jutsu they wish to aid in hiding. However there's a surprise waiting in those woods. Hidden throughout the area where the game is being played are dummy explosive tags. They don't pack much of a punch but are quite loud and will knock someone on their but. When ever you roll a 1, multiple of 3, or multiple of 5, excluding 10 & 20, (1,3,5,9,12,15, and 18 will cause an explosion) you must roll to make a reflex save (DC: 12). Byakuran Usotsuki LV. 9 Experience: 207/500 Hp: 144 Cp: 9 cp remaining MHp:20 -5 15 MHP remaining Dodge Bonus: 20 Byakuran was trembling slightly, the image of Senkyo having vanished from before his eyes, and the kuro ikkou still burning within his mind as his mental state continued to deteriorate, his thoughts turning against him. He staggered slightly, but still struck his blissful smile if only out of spite. "Hn... Hiding under ground now, Sensei?" he and the clones said in suddenly perfect harmony. "Reclaiming the charm like that...you claim that this is some manner to test to determine whether or not I'll sent back to the academy..." he gave a slight smirk as his eyes opened, all the water Clones doing the same. "Do you know what thoughts are my head right now...? Isn't that one of the Black thoughts more useful traits when used by a master...? I am nothing...I am weak...I will obey the clan..." Byakuran's eyes twitched slightly. "For making me think such disgusting things... my petty nature would prompt me to hate you." he readied his tonfa amongst the many other water clones, their movements sync'd up as each continued to speak in one voice, the Otobe's ear for Harmony making it near impossible to differentiate between them. "But I suppose I can't really stay angry at you for long...there's only one person who've I've ever managed to hate for an extended period of time." all the Byakuran's eyes narrowed. "And standing back and truly considering this situation, Sensei, it's become far to obviously apparent that this is not a test of martial might for me to just ignore it..." he gave a short laugh. "I'll admit I don't quite understand it yet...but the idea that a Genin could stand up to a Jounin isn't just foolish...it's impossible." he turned up his smirk to an even higher angle. "Laying hand on that charm was the only thing I could have hoped to achieve in this battle... and now that you've so brutally reclaimed it, you've tipped your hand." he stood straight, the clones following suit. "So what then is the goal of this exercise I have to wonder... am I to learn when to surrender? Am I to suffer? Am I to understand true fear...? Hopelessness...? Is that the goal of this venture...? Or am I to try something more...unorthodox...?" he seemed bemused at this. "At any rate, sensei. I am done in this fight. My only other usable Ninjutsu is only effective against people who excel at Taijutsu...and there was no point in wasting chakra with it when I couldn't hope to hit you. My only hope, the only maneuver I could effectively use, stands here before you, and so long as you're underground, we can't even try to grab the charm again." he seemed almost conversational now. "I pulled the strategy from a famous work that suggests when faced with an opponent of overwhelming might, gamble all your strength on a single sword stroke to obtain the condition you believe will bring victory. And it worked..." he then shook his head, still bemused. "And yet in taking it back without so much as a remark, you have killed your own illusion. And I don't mean the one in my mind." he twitched. "This test has nothing to do with that charm...it's just a device. A Pretense...that I was never supposed to touch it in the first place." he gave a slight chuckle. "Meaning that I have already exceeded your expectations... at east in terms of achieving the goal my superior asked of me." there seemed to be a strange glimmer of understanding in his eyes. "Meaning that the goal I must achieve to pass this test is something entirely different...well..." he rolled his shoulder confidently, the thoughts burning in his mind causing him to wince once more. "Go right ahead then sensei...teach me whatever lesson you like...because if it's that I'm weak...I already know that." his face seemed to twist into a more bitter repose. "But if that's the lesson, it was already taught. Yesterday in this very city that was supposed to serve as my protection, I was beaten, electrocuted, and set on fire by an opponent who's only advantage over me was that I hadn't yet gotten my chakra up to full after my intensive training, and that he knew a few more measly attack jutsu then I...and that I didn't yet have my clones. Do you suppose I would be so foolish as to think if so little an advantage made so much a difference I would be stupid enough to believe that a full fledged elite couldn't end me with less than a thought? I'm only alive now because his superior interrupted him as he was about to slit my throat. I do not need to humbled further...and for making me...listen to ....these thoughts..." he suddenly reached up to hold his own head. "You...truly must have a sadistic streak, sensei...." W-why did she seem even more attractive for some reason...? Ah...that...that had to the black thought. Yes. He'd go with that... "Still...if you still want to fight, this pointless battle...then say the word..." he narrowed his eyes. "Because if your just going to sit there mentally torturing me...I'll just use another jutsu and knock myself out to save you the trouble..." He and his clones began to laugh uncomfortably, the pain from these thoughts clearly having driven him to the edge. "Because I would rather have that Pathetic fool killed me yesterday...I would rather have died on the rocks...I would rather feel my chakra ripping my body apart again...then listen...to these thoughts... ANYMORE!!!!" Diplomacy Check Stop this!!!! Diplomacy: 4 Roll: 4+8= 12 Sense motive: He is telling the truth. He would literally rather die then have his will broken in this manner.

椿百合子 Tsubaki Yuriko Hp: 630 / 630 Cp: 784 / 840 MHp: 780 / 780[ Music - click me] Is he.... no.... there's no way.... I've got to have fallen asleep and this is a dream... she pulled on her own cheek, Nope, I'm not dreaming... he's actually on a monologue. If she was the expressive type Yuriko would have just slapped her forehead. She couldn't believe it, in the middle of a fight the kid stopped to give a speech. Despite how ridiculous she thought it was she listened to him spill his thoughts out onto the battlefield. As she listened she could hear honest pain in his voice, something that she herself was somewhat familiar with, though he spoke of what might have been ties to the Otobe, she ignored those for now. If her genjutsu had caused him to see loyalty to the Otobe then, maybe he was conflicted. Along with that he never said their name so it wasn't concrete. When he was finished speaking she calculated which one was the real one based on subtle delays in their voices, and where she predicted he would stand among the clones. With her mind made up that she had the real one, Yuriko made her move. The earth exploded outward as she burst out of the ground in front of Byakuran. Her hand moved as if to punch but instead slapped his cheek. In the moment of contact she released the genjutsu. "Baaaka..." she said with an impersonation that made her sound like some of the girls around the village. Back in her normal voice she continued "I said you could double team me not have a gang bang." That awful sense of humor... though she used it so often it might just be becoming part of her vocabulary. Music Change"Byakuran-kun you... think to much." she told him. "I guess I should mention that time to get the charm is over...." she informed him haphazardly like an after thought, though she didn't say the test was over. "My genjutsu... are only seeds. They grow from within you..." she hinted to him. What ever he saw had come from within himself. Her blank face staring into his from only a foot away. "Your thoughts... are making you chase ghosts..." Her hand reached down and loosed the red string, allowing her to hold up the charm to his face. Sewed on the front of the charm were the words, "Leave Luck to Heaven". From this distance Byakuran could clearly see the words on the charm. After giving him time to read the front she opened the charm and produced a piece of paper, "I'll grasp victory using nothing but my mind and heart." "Never leave anything to chance..." she said. "Byakuran-kun you're strategy got lucky and worked temporarily but you had no way to pull out... Now what if you had hid for twenty-nine minutes and then made an attempt at the charm? If the rush worked you would have had the charm at the end of 30 minutes." She then put the charm back together and pocketed it. She backed up a little bit and sat down, she motioned for him to do the same. "Before I give you the results of the test... tell me what you learned."

Byakuran Usotsuki LV. 9 Experience: 207/500 Hp: 144- 4 140 hp remaining Cp: 9 cp remaining MHp: 15 MHP remaining Dodge Bonus: 20 Byakuran's eyes widened as he felt the vibrations from the earth just a moment before his sensei emerged, the girl's hair flapping slightly as she rose up before him...w-wait...why was he focused on her hair?! Why did girl's who were trying to cause him harm DO this to him?! "I said you could double team me not have a gang bang." The Byakuran's, all of them, struck an identical expression at this. "B-b-but I wasn-" Then the slap came, Byakuran's expression turning to one of surprise. For an otobe...sensations were different then for other people. A touch to them was a universe of difference. They didn't feel pain in the same way, their second selves processing and interpreting it as it did everything...it was what allowed them to actually process all the sensory input that was constantly facing them. As the girl's hand sent a series of sudden vibrations throughout his secondary sensory system, he felt every inch of the hand, every moment of the sudden movement. His face had turned to one of blank bewilderment even as he processed the experience. Normally a single blow wouldn't have given him so much pause...but for some reason this...pun not intended, struck him. As his sensei went on with her explanation, he wasn't using his eyes to observe the scene anymore, merely listening as his clones all watched the girl for him. They didn't have a hive mind as such, but his hearing was much better than his eyes anyway...and he was thinking deeply over what she said. Finally he opened his eyes and looked at her sidelong. "There was no point in hiding from someone whom would always know your location. That was my thought... are you saying that I was wrong...? I suppose there may have been the smallest chance, but I would have had to delay my Clone technique, and your genjutsu further debilitated me...I no longer had the option to run...it had to be finished quickly, or I wouldn't last..." then came the sting to her speech...the true question. What he had learned. Byakuran seemed to pause for a time, giving this matter consideration. "I learned that this test was not a test. It was a lesson. Or perhaps a test within a lesson. You were attempting to teach me something...though I can only guess what that might be." he narrowed his eyes in thought. "I learned that you likely specialize in Genjutsu...or at the least are adept in their use. I learned that my strategies when employed allowed me to surprise a Jounin...that was unexpected. I did not believe that I had but the smallest chance of touching that charm...but I managed it. I learned that Jounin opponents, though still far beyond me, are still human, and make mistakes...or I would never ahave been allowed to touch that charm...clone or not." He looked down at his own hand. "I...suppose until now I merely saw people of your skill level as unbeatable,...monsters, perhaps..." he seemed to sink into deeper thought for a moment. "demons." He then returned his gaze to her. "I realize now that was an error in judgement...it is merely a vast differential in skill and raw ability. Both things experience can bridge. I have learned that I apparently can be easily distracted by....things..." he shifted his eyes slightly at this before resuming a more serious repose once again. "That I think too much, and what it is that I fear most." Byakuran closed his eyes again for a moment before opening them again with more conviction. "Why Sensei...? What was I supposed to learn...? From your lesson...the most obvious truth that you have displayed here, is that you are strong. But..." he hesitated on how he could explain it. "That...was apparent to me merely by proxy of what you are. You are Jounin..." he said it more as though he was talking about a thing. He remembered the souless look on his brother's face, the bodies scattered about everywhere, the debacle of a "Knight" exam that lead to his brother becoming a Jounin so young... "This is a concept that is already known to me..." he fell into a lack luster silence...

椿百合子 Tsubaki Yuriko Hp: 630 / 630 Cp: 784 / 840 MHp: 780 / 780[ Music - click me] are you saying that I was wrong...? he asked. "Maybe, that was an option before you but these things are never truly certain." Perhaps confusing words considering the message on the charm. However she then remained silent, letting him continue, allowing him to teach her about himself. He had certainly learned a lot and she would answer many of his questions in due time. However she had one thing to relay to him first. "Byakuran-kun... you passed." She let the words sink in for a moment. "You see... what you actually learned in this fight... has no weight on the test... neither does the charm... there was only something that you had to show me which you might have learned yourself... though learning is important... it's not required to pass." she paused, waiting, taking a breath. "You showed me that you can still learn, that... was the test" she finally said. "Without that ability, you would be useless as a shinobi. What you learned from me is different from what Tenshi-kun learned, and what Mizuiro-kun learned is different from him." That was it, the true test behind the illusion of the goal. Lessons could come from anywhere at anytime and something different could be learned by every person but the ability to learn was the important part. At least for now anyway. There was a second key, but that she would look for over time and when it was found she would open the gate to the Chuunin exams. With the test over she decided to answer some of his questions so that the others could play their game for a little longer. "About monsters Byakuran-kun... they do exist." There was slight, subtle hint of sadness in her voice when she spoke. [Awareness DC: 24 to pick up on it] "They make mistakes and can be killed but they exist.". There are many different monsters in the ninja world, and she is one of them. However she liked to keep that buried with the roots under the surface. "Boo." she said flatly, looking to see if he'd be scared. "Don't forget Byakuran-kun.... you know not forgetting reminds me that I forgot something...""I never told you about myself..." she explained. "... I like flowers, and miso soup, I dislike nothing... and my hopes for the future? ... not to get the three of you killed." Perhaps it was a little late but hey better late than never. She stretched her arms upwards and yawned. "But... enough about me. You must be pretty tired mentally." she stated. Even though it was phrased like an assumption she he knew he was, since if she hadn't held back the genjutsu it would have caused him to black out from the mental stress. "Byakuran-kun... what did you see that caused you so much pain?" she asked. It probably seemed rather insensitive the way she asked it, like she didn't really care. There was no hint of caring in her voice, and her face was back to its normal blank stare. She did care but it was the result of growing up isolated that she never learned to tone her voice the way so many others do. As a result, well you've seen how she acts.
