Again Saber was knocked flat, cringing as the hit he took hit a critical spot, but pulled himself up again in a wobbling fashion as he fought the confusion.
"Keep trying," Asch told the Zoroark, who nodded, but again failed and only succeeded in injuring himself. This was the last straw and the Zoroark crumpled to the ground in defeat.
"Hmph. Looks like you're good for something after all, dreck," Asch said as he recalled his Pokemon to its ball.
Folding his arms, he turned his back on Luke. "To think I lost to someone like you." Although he voice was tense, it wasn't particularly angry.

Tartarus turn turned to face his trainer as his enemy fell, receiving an approving nod in reply. With a slight grunt, he ambled back to the human's side. He'd been hoping to spend a little more time in battle, but oh well. Maybe this was some sign that his silly trainer would stop swinging around pieces of metal and actually put start putting work into his pokemon again. Wouldn't that be nice?
As Asch turned around, Luke called after him, "There are still things I can do!" He'd proved that, to himself and to Asch as well, regardless of whether or not his brother acknowledged it. There were still things he was good at, and he could still fight.

Asch turned his head a little, but not quite enough to look back at Luke. "Heh, yeah I guess. Just don't let it go to your head!"
He didn't like that Luke had bested him at something, but it couldn't be helped. He would just have to try harder and get more Pokemon.
"And stop putting yourself down, its infuriating! Not to mention embarrassing."

There was an uncomfortable sort of deja vu, calling him back to confronting Asch in the hospital room with his brother forcing him to be more decisive. He didn't really like it; what reason did Asch have to do anything for him? Luke felt like he was losing at something if he believed it, or falling for something, or... or... something. Probably something bad.
Giving no reply to Asch's words, Luke returned Tartarus to his pokeball with a muttered "thanks." Whether that gratitude was intended towards the Lairon or towards the other boy stood to be decided.
