Wilson stared at Dakota for a while. His mask did a very good job at hiding his poker face. Yup. It was Dakota being Dakota. He raised an arm as if to say something, but then remained silent and put his hand back down. Wilson shook his head. No. It was better to just shut up and pummel the mini phoenix instead. That sounded like a better idea.
He pointed both of his cannons at the bird and waited for it to fly into his range before releasing a burst of green gas. It seemed to be effective, except the phoenix was not pleased with the attack at all. The phoenix squawked and clawed at his weapon and arms with its talons. Wilson gritted his teeth at the sound of talons scraping against metal. Gramps, are you okay? His weapon groaned. [Does it sound like I’m okay?]

Candace was very surprised by Dakota's ferocity in defending her. The phoenix tried to lunge at her as she swept in to attack it one last time after Wilson's hit, but Dakota kept it from going anywhere near her. She kicked its stomach and lost her balance just as the stupid thing dissipated, watching as it screeched one last time before disappearing all together. She grinned. They did it. They succeeded. They didn't fail. She didn't fail. She reached an arm up, waving it a little to get Dakota's attention. "Help me up~? Give you a reward if you do." Candace said in a sing-song voice, waiting. HP: 39/50 (Defended by Dakota for 19!)
Damage done: 7

Jordan watched with satisfaction as the phoenix dissipated. "Hell yeah," he called to Candace. "Good shot. Good job, everyone." Then he looked around at the lab, a little ruefully. "Damn. Well. Equipment's repairable, the sleepers not so much."

Jerry was shaking as he gathered himself up, not daring to put his weapon away, "W-w-what was that?" It was certainly more massive than the small creatures they had been fighting previously. The idea that the massive phoenix creature could still be around, lurking, was horrific, and a concept he did not want to consider. "Is... is it really dead?"

The power of team work triumphed over the Insanity once again. Molly’s friends, the canon cats, were saved! The red head was beaming brightly, and looked over at Clerise.
“I am!” Molly cried, raising a hand and waving it energetically.

Dakota wiped his brow as the Phoenix took a hike before looking over his shoulder at Candace.
"There you go Starbucks. I knew you could do it." He grinned as he turned to slap his palm on hers, pulling her up. "Oh a reward?~~" He matched her tone with the curiosity of a youthful teenager and grinned. "I hope its a really good one."

Wilson pulled down his mask and worriedly eyed Dakota. There were no words to describe Wilson’s thoughts right now. Sighing, he waved an arm at them. “I’ll stay too.” He threw Dakota a pointed stare.

She grinned at Jordan as he called out a compliment to her, giving him a thumb's up. "You're not the only one capable of overkill~." She nodded to everyone and stepped up to a computer that was a bit smashed, frowning. She hoped everything was backed up at least...Candace couldn't see Clarice or H or any of the other lab techs letting things go without emergency backup. Like..ten of them.
When Jerry's voice reached her ears she looked up and around until she found him, looking him from head to toe and back up again. Any injuries? His glasses were fine. His coveralls were okay, no scratches or tears. He was okay. Good, good. "Yeah, I'll stay." Though she was given a pinch to her cheek shortly after. She squeaked, swatting away the hand with a smile. "You were a very good Moon, yes. C'mere." She tugged Dakota closer, leaning in to give the boy a quick kiss against his lips. It wasn't much, just a soft sweet kiss that didn't last for an eternity or anything like that. When she drew away she smiled and playfully tugged at his scarf. "Thank you, darlin'. Good job defending. Keep it up, okay?"

Clerise went to give Molly a hug, squeezing her just a little bit. "You're too cute for words, Molly~" "Great, sounds like a plan to me~" She flashed Wilson a smirk, feeling triumphant. Clerise eyeballed Dakota and Candace macking-- Cute. Too bad he probably didn't stand a chance. She moved on through the hallway, a little cautious-- Oh. Welp, dead hunter. Take their tablets, right, that's what you were supposed to do...? Except it crumbled, disintegrating, reforming into something gaseous in nature. "Ew." Quote: 2-10: You find the body of a fallen hunter, their weapon tablet lies on the ground but crumbles as you reach for it. The pieces quickly shift and expand into a large, insane creature. It's form is not very solid, and more cloud-like than anything. Boss Stats HP: 50 Auto Damage: 5 (hit or miss) Extra: because of it's form, use a -8 modifier for accuracy! This does not count with charged attacks!

Dakota waited for his reward and was actually surprised when she leaned in closer to him, pressing lips together.
It wasn't like....the longest kiss ever...hell there wasn't even tongue but Dakota's face reddened a little and he didn't breathe until she dropped back.
And then grinned as she tugged at his scarf.
"Kisses Starbucks? Remind me to come defend your sweet little-" He coughed though and looked away as the team of hunters tuck around. Candace left to go defend Molly, so he headed back to the original partner for this trip topside.
"Awesome, It'll be a hunter party in here...." He saluted Candace as he walked to Clerise.
"Want me to defend you Clerise?" Well...he was defending her really as he checked her out from the behind. No really he was okay.

Candace’s kiss garnered a raised eyebrow from Wilson as he vaguely recalled Dakota and him taking flirting lessons from Dr. H, which really weren’t lessons at all. Was Dakota’s flirting skills actually improving or something? He shook his head and decided to grin at Clerise. “The more the merrier, right?”
With some difficulty (cannon arms did that) he managed to slip his mask back on without maiming his face. He walked behind Clerise as she moved to pick up a tablet.
Except it dissipated, the fog merging together to form a large, gaseous creature. Wilson clicked his tongue. He stepped forward to swipe at it, except the cloud wrapped around him. His eyes widened and he suddenly found himself having a coughing fit. “Gramps….this your cousin or something?” Wilson wheezed. [Very funny.]

More dead bodies. "...Don't-" he tried to warn Clerise, but it was too late. The tablet crumbled apart, just like all the others. It gave Harrison shivers.
He took up his place next to Jordan.
"Gotta put this poor b*****d out of his misery too, I guess."

"Dammit. These give me the creeps," Jordan muttered. Ferros growled silent agreement.
He swung Ferros into the swirling form, then ducked away from the tendrils before he could inhale anything the way Wilson had.
