Zurine still wasn't entirely sure who to trust around her - all of them looked different, all of them were likely hunters in disguise, spies..someone out to hurt her. Or so the voice seemed to be telling her - oh she couldn't quite make out what they were saying but by the feelings she was having she knew that they had to be warnings of some sort.
Medea had said they should come back here and since that was the only clear thought she'd had in a good time well it had seemed like a good idea to follow it - besides the grayed out destroyed crater of what had once been beautiful and vibrant if a little bit strange was no place that she wanted to stay. Even if it meant walking back with the herd of them..and she eyed her fellow students or supposed students with a suspicious wariness.
But the area they returned to was wrong too - it wasn't the weeping forest she recalled, something was different and Zurine poised on the point of flight when everything shook and went grey..she would shift and run she told herself...hide herself somewhere away from the possible enemies surrounding her and live in peace. The peace that had been promised her and then ripped away again....but again everything shifted and the world was normal again - except it wasn't normal because they were being herded and corralled and led through the woods by boogeymen "Stay away from me!" She fussed at one of them who got to close, swerving away only to swerve again and cast a suspicious glare as her path crossed to close to that of another student.
Still with each step as they were herded into the Gym the voice quieted down and things became a little more clear or perhaps she was just to bone weary tired to keep being suspicious. Either way it didn't seem like there was a way to escape and hide and cots laid out seemed far to inviting for her resist. It only took moments from the time of her head hitting the pillow until she was sound asleep the last voices she heard, that of Medea and Arel were a vague sort of greyness that she only half caught.

In case the thread was closing and we were both gone >_< Reeshie Hack In case the gym/quarantine/There And Back Again RP is closing up and I'm not awake yet, I give you permission to post this on behalf of Julian.Home? Was this home? No, no this wasn't home. Home had his mother and father, his brothers. This was a mockery of home. Home was a place of security, of love, a place of safety and predictability. This place was chaos, danger, fear. There was no protection here, no compassion, only brutality, insanity, death. How could he stay here when he knew what was out there, when he knew what waited for him at home, his true home?
Julian's blank eyes roamed over the rest of his classmates, faceless beings his mind couldn't register. Was Riley here? Had her death been a bad dream? No, she was a statue, whether she was here or not, she was gone from them. He couldn't understand it, couldn't understand how the school could let these things happen and just let things go unsaid. Vague sounds echoed gently in his mind, pained, sorrowful voices. Like whimpering hatchlings crying out to him for comfort he couldn't give. The owl-like demon wrapped his wings around himself, finding he couldn't even give himself comfort. He felt so tired, so empty inside. The learning, the time with his teachers, it was all for nothing. It was all gone. The clans, the ancient knowledge, the beautiful creatures. His wolf was gone, swept up into the ash. All because of the hunters.
How was it fair? How was any of this fair? Halloween, the Four Clans, they didn't spend their existence trying to destroy the human world, did they? Was there something so wrong with their kind that these... these... abominations fought so hard to destroy them? Until coming to this school, until meeting their kind, Julian had never once wanted to hurt another creature. Yes, he had fought back, against bullies and trees and crazy elves. But never had he felt a rage and sorrow so deep that he wanted to feel flesh part beneath his talons, to listen to a hunter's death-moans as he felt their death coming before they even knew they were dying. Was that what this school was trying to do? Send them against these hunters to breed more soldiers for the war against them?
He was so tired. But his eyes found themselves on a figure he was coming to memorize. She was safe, Lumi was safe. A shudder passed through him before he walked to her, his steps wobbly but true. No words were said, he just pulled her into a hug, wrapping his wings around her. He was shaking, his legs couldn't support himself anymore, he wasn't sure if she came with him or he just dragged her to the floor. "I'm sorry, Lumi, I'm so sorry..." And then there was nothing, nothing but sweet oblivion as he held her close.

Lumi wasn't sure what exactly had happened one minute she was throwing herself at that blasted creature, the next she was standing in a forest that was very very unfamiliar. This was just getting better and better, she thought bitterly. The small voice in her head still growing louder and more persistent. What in Halloween did it want from her?! Holding her head slightly, she looked around at the other students, they had said what? A Quarantine? Why were they going to do that couldn't they just go home... "Julian?"She called out very very softly hoping that he would hear her, he once told her he could hear very well. Or maybe that was something she made up. She couldn't remember what was real anymore. At least that sudden anger was gone, it was more of an ache now. She felt a sudden familiar touch, it was familiar right? Before she knew was was happening she felt herself being wrapped up in wings, she let herself melt in to the boil and followed him down as the exhaustion took them both over. She heard his words as the darkness washed over her, the thought he left you... washed over as she fell asleep in his arms.

Mandy twitched, clutching her head in a desperate attempt to ward off the voices as she stumbled through the portal. For a blessed moment everything had been clear, or maybe it had been for a hellish moment because when everything was clear she could see beyond the fightfightfight and the voices and the ache of home to the devastation beyond and was that really better than her-
She moaned, head throbbing as everything seemed to roil and shake as though the earth was just as tumultuous as her emotions. She threw a hand out, grasping onto a tree as the weeping forest suddenly came back into focus.
They were back!
She could have shouted to the sky, screamed in joy and danced except she was exhausted – bone deep exhausted.
That was when the boogeymen striked, dragging them and yelling about quarantine and generally saying and doing things that felt of not the good.
“Noooooooo, get off! Lemme go! I wanna go hoooome!” Mandy struggled slightly against her herders, but she could barely move her feet to walk where they pushed them than to fight again. Even when she felt a burst of terrified strength at the sight of the gym, because too many bad memories had already been stirred this day, she still could not break from the crowd.
In the end it was probably for the best as if she had been left on her own she may not have made it further than the lawn for it was only seconds after the words ‘quarantine for the next day ‘ where uttered that she felt the pull of unconsciousness, crumbling wherever she could.

There was a lump on Hadiyya's forehead and a trickle of blood that couldn't be explained away by any attack by any hunter or anything else that might have sought to attack the students once the island had dropped. No, this injury could be blamed on nothing short of gravity and a momentary lapse of balance. As the island had fallen, the ghoul had tipped, and when the ground under foot became solid again she pitched forward, forehead colliding painfully with a bit of exposed rock. The world had swam in streamers of whites, grays and blacks, and after no more then a second the demon had lost consciousness.
She had missed the phoenix. Every last terrifying detail. Every attack. Luck alone had kept her from being trampled, crushed, or injured where she'd fallen, and it was luck as well that had seen her through that great battle relatively unscathed. Perhaps the hunters had thought her dead, regardless, they'd left her alone.
She awoke only as the battle had ended and the Hunters had gone. When all the students were being ushered back to Halloween. She'd gotten to her feet, nose wrinkling at the slight scent of something burnt, then winced as it felt like her forehead would split in half by the reintroduction of gravity. "What in Jack's name happened..?" It wasn't a question for anyone in particular, so she didn't expect an answer.
In the woods she'd slowed as she'd seen the boogeymen, and clearly with good reason. Before anyone could do much in the way of reacting they'd begun to herd them all towards the gymnasium shouting something about quarantine. Yaya was at a lose. She didn't know what had happened while she'd been unconscious, and she didn't know what was happening now, and that complete unknown was a terrifying thing.

This wasn’t Amity. It was blurry and confusing, but Roch was positive it wasn’t Amity, even if it looked like it. Amity didn’t come with boogies--they’d gotten rid of them. Roch looked around, seeing all the boogies, knowing that it was finally over--he had been there when the four clans islands had gone up in smoke--he’d been the one to open up that room on War to begin with--he was SO SCREWED. The punk boil cursed and jerked, trying to get free of the boogies, trying to run away--his shadow step wasn’t working. “JACK YOU!” he bellowed. “I didn’t DO ANYTHING!”
But he had. He knew he had, they knew he had, even as they shoved him into the quarantine room he was positive at least half of them had looked at his file before this even started, and were planning on culling him from the herd, taking him to a different lock up after they let the law abiding students stay behind. “LET ME OUTTTT!” he bellowed, slamming into the fence with his shoulder. “LET ME OUTTTT!” he bellowed again, hitting the fence over and over again with the last traces of energy that he had. Tears were threatening.
It almost seemed as if the insanity had gotten him more than the others--but that wasn’t it. That wasn’t it at all. Even if he’d been free of the insanity completely, he still would have been reacting this way. “I didn’t do it,” he said, so tired that he was sliding down the fence until he was crouched next to it. “I didn’t. I’ve gone straight. Well... y’know... straight enough. I don’t--“
His eyelids were heavy, threatening to close. “I just wanna go home,” he whispered, a single tear escaping him, sliding down his cheek. “I wanna see... I wanna see Bones. I wanna see... Dad.” He would be in juvie before the morning came, he was certain. No matter what he did to change, he would always--always be a useless thieving punk from the wrong side of the streets, he thought as his body dragged him into sleep, still curled up next to the fence.
He had nightmares.

Thanatos had - and was still - suffering from a headache that would not go away. As they were ushered through the portal back to school, he kept to himself, occasionally rubbing the injuries he had sustained - the pain on his tailbone where he had fell when the island plummeted into the sea, the dull ache on his cheek where he had been slapped, the bruises on his shoulder and arms from Biskoto, and of course, where Amphi had actually bitten him.
That was probably the attack that had surprised him the most; he would never expect the mermaid to be someone with such an inclination... Then again, he was out of sorts as well.
Through the portal and into the forest, he hardly noticed anything different, too focused on just moving. Needless to say, while he wasn't completely oblivious to the fact that a statue was being taken away, he simply didn't care much for it; if anything, he wished that the students would just shut up about it - all that crying and muttering was making his headache worse. The Bogeymen must have their own reasons for quarantining it... Why question their authority?
Being led into the gymnasium, he found a quiet spot and sat down, his legs crossed as he carefully allowed his familiar off his shoulder; he was tired, and Biskoto was a burden to carry around, as much as he didn't want to admit it. He really didn't need the excess weight on him right now, not with his splitting headache. Not with how heavy his feet felt. He had never faced such exhaustion in his life before.
"Oh darling," She curled around him in a protective fashion, such that the reaper was seated within a circle that she had created with her body. She wasn't totally immune to whatever was affecting Thanatos, but she was somehow handling it better, her concern for the boil drowning out the whispers in her head as she laid her head on his lap. She immediately felt a warm, comforting hand on her head, "We're home... Home and you can ressssst."
The Moira reaper said nothing, having already nodded off.

He heard many of the students whispering it. Amityville... Amityville... They were back. At the school that most of the students had come from, it appeared. He was still dazed, the voices and the... well all of it. It was still there, fading but on the edge of his consciousness. It continued to fade and they were safe and home, or close enough, and now that the adrenaline was leaving his system he was so tired. Maybe he'd just sit for a minute... they were in quarantine, he could explore later when it was lifted. So maybe, just for e bit, he could res... he began snoring softly.

Home. Wait, was it finally home? Did they truly make it back? The shaking ground had her clinging to the nearest objects for as long as she could as she walked, finding herself unable to find her footing in sandals. No. Nononono. This wasn't home. This was never going to be home again it was awful their home was destroyed just like the Horseman Clans they could never go home again it was ruined the phoenix had won they--
Wait.
Home.
The world stopped going to hell and she was finally able to stand on her own two feet. Junko looked around, trying to find anything wrong. No...everything was fine..
It was home.
Her heart sank when she spotted the statue of Riley, though it raced wildly when she saw the Bogeymen. The bogeymen! They could help her! They--no..
No.
The Bogeymen would never help them. Never. They were evil, hey were uncaring. All they wanted was to keep everyone on a short leash. They wanted everyone under their control. Anything they didn't accept, didn't exist. And at the words 'additional quarantine' it became clear to her that they didn't accept Riley.
"No! Leave her alone! Don't you dare touch her! GET AWAY FROM HER--don't touch me! Stop it!" She struggled against a Bogeyman that had begun to usher her toward the gymnasium. She hadn't been in the gymnasium since Red had been here..it was almost eerie that they were being locked in here after dealing with Insanity when Red had also..
Junko looked around at all the students. Some were angry, very angry, some were sad. Many were hurt
This wasn't right.
This...this wasn't..
No...
Riley...
No...
She felt tired, unable to keep her eyes open.
Junko didn't want to sleep, but she had no choice.

Draven had never been so glad to see something familiar. He had no real idea of what had, but he knew it was unlike anything he'd ever seen before. He also knew he was glad to be back. Even if it meant he was in quarantine. That was still better than being where they had just been.

Relief. That was what first flooded through Hel upon seeing the Phoenix go through the false reaper’s portal. Then it was an overwhelming sense of sadness as she glanced back at what was left of the Four Isles before they were ushered into their portal. There was relief again, accompanied by a disturbing paranoia that the insanity was creeping through here too, but a bat of the lashes and it was gone. More ushering.
The reaper paused though, as she stared at a statue. She had been catching glimpses of it all through out the battle, but hadn’t really gotten a good look at it until now. Hel stared at it like it was highly offensive and skeptically. “What is that?” She asked to no one in particular. “Someone’s idea of a joke?” Disbelief. That could not be a statue of Miss Riley...very much reminding her of the whole battle with Red and her remains…no…but…but Malodore was there and it was clinging to the statue so fiercely…
Hel’s mouth hung open and she wanted to demand what that was, but once again, they were shuffled along by Bogeymen. It was for the best right now. Too much thinking and processing to do and not in the best mind set to do it in, much less with the intelligible murmurs she kept hearing but not fully understanding. Once prompted to sleep, the reaper gave in all too easily, happy to leave everything behind for right now, now that she was home.

With one last effort the phoenix managed to enter one of the portals. The portal they had been trying to get it away from, and the humans began to file after it. It bothered him. All of that prey slipping away. He needed to destroy them. Hurt them all before they left. Maybe it was a student's fault. Maybe he needed to hurt someone. Yes. Cause pain. Destroy.
The chime of bells was unexpected, but the clear sound cut through the air and sliced through the insanity for a moment. Then he remembered. Remembered attacking students. Remembered that he had tried to attack Alexander. Why would he do that? He had not meant to...he had not done it.
But it felt like he had.
He could not raise his eyes to face the zomboil, could not even see how sorry he was. A horsewoman was telling them to go back to Halloween and he was just fine with that. He could handle that. Just go back and maybe it would all be a bad dream. He had those. But as they left he caught site of the crater in the land, colorless and...no that was real. He could not have dreamed that up. All of this had been real. Alexander was beside him but...what could they even say to each other? He had not meant it but...
They stepped through the portal back into the woods and then there was the faintest hint of a murmur and the thought flooded back to him even stronger. What if Alexander had meant what he said? The flash of grey before everything settled down seemed to think so.
But no...if he had not meant it maybe it was a problem that they all faced? He had seen others attacking students. He had been attacked himself. Maybe...but he did not want to trust it. He was in a place that should have been familiar but seemed off. He was hearing things but when he looked around they could not have come from anything. There was a cool brush against his hand, but he no longer knew what it meant. What anything meant. Boogeymen were surrounding them, and he heard voices. Quarantine. But were the voices even real?
Alexander's hand found his. Was grasping it. Squeezing it perhaps a bit too tightly. And he was not sure what it meant but perhaps that was a good thing. Touching was a good thing to Alexander. His own hand tightened as well, not sure what all was happening as they were herded to the gymnasium but determined not to get lost in the crowd. To the gymnasium. He knew that place. It was almost safe in its familiarity. Passing into the enclosure it was like the voices lessened, the slack giving him a bit more clarity before exhaustion began to wash over him.
Alexander was not one to move very much or very far very fast. Which meant that they were close to the fence still when he broke the silence between the two of them...silence if one ignored the voices. Asking...or perhaps telling him to stay. But...it was as if he just wanted him to stay because he did not want him to leave. It was confusing. He was insecure but...the zomboil wanted him to stay. He was not about to leave. Even if it was just for Alexander, even if he meant nothing...if he could help him he would stay...that made him useful...correct?
"As you wish," he answered, fighting off sleep. He had fought through exhaustion before. At least...he could long enough to half sit, half collapse next him against the fence before sleep finally overtook him.

She was ushered back through the portal to Halloween, through a greying forest that seemed surreal. To the Amity Highschool, which she didn't know much about. The boogeymen pushed her towards this building, of which Mercy didn't recognize. Her hazed brain was still working through the Insanity that was seeping through it. However, once away from the floating island near what was left of the Four Clans, her mind seemed to clear, slowly. Enough for her to remember the assignment she was supposed to have done. Her eyes lulled as she was pushed into the gymnasium. She caught the sounds of people talking, back and forth. Quarantine...Calls... She couldn't make much sense of it.She drifted off into unconsciousness with many questions.

It was a wonder the nature demon could even walk. Even through the pain of her screaming roots that were seared at the ends from that cold fire, she pressed on. Far too groggy, too tired, spent in ever sort of way. she didn't even look to who was around her, just followed the mass to the gym. They were home, but she couldn't even register, or show gratitude for it. For what ever reason, she was just... too spent to really care about anything. Her mind was calm, but from time to time whispers would murmur through her mind... ones she couldn't quite catch ever.
Finally, she settled onto the ground, her roots sprawling from the pathetic half-attempt of forming legs, the tips of most crooked and coiled painfully. Listening to the hushed words of those above her, Ev hadn't enough focus to concentrate on a single word, slowly being taken under sleeps embrace.

One of the Bogeymen hesitated, turning back towards their superior. He gave them a look that said very clearly get it over with.
The other did not hesitate for a second. They stared very levelly at Malodore, calmly even, before shoving one clawed hand forward-
- Neatly severing the Plague Doctor's head. The rest of his head, along with the body quickly dissipated, perhaps the last feature on his face was shock or perhaps it was something else.
Confusion. Sadness.
The two quickly walked off with the statue without another word.
