Ah machine shop. Monica was quite excited for this class. She loved designing things, though she feared she may be the only girl signed up for this class. Monica entered the classroom, her hair was up in a long ponytail. She entered seeing the teacher. "H-hi sir" she said quietly and entered into the doorway not quiet sure where she was suppose to go.

"Ah!" Saeslin scrambled to snatch the heart back out of Markus' hands when the boy grabbed it from him without warning. He stared at the boy, clutching the heart to his chest, eyes wide. It took him a moment to realize who he was looking at and where he was as the suddenly adrenaline rushed through him. Ah...he...that. He'd been so engrossed in working on the heart that he hadn't heard anyone come in. And then Markus just took it from him and without thinking he--ugh.

Taking a breath to calm himself, Saeslin stood. "I apologize," he said, smiling weakly. "You startled me, Markus. Ah, this is an important project so I do ask that you please not touch it." He set it back on the table and covered it with a cloth as Monica came in.

"Yes, yes, come inside. I have a work table set up for you here. The assignment is to simply build any sort of project you like. A birdhouse, a pocket watch--the decision is yours."

There was a work station for Monica. As the teacher showed Monica to her workstation, he said she had to make something. Anything. He suggested pocket watch. Ooo. Monica liked pocket watches, the were stylish. "I'll make a pocket watch" Monica said and gathered the required equipment she needed to make this pocket watch.

Monica begun to work on her pocket watch hoping she was doing it correct.

"Acta est fabula, plaudite!"

Markus hissed at the teacher when he snatched whatever the device was back, surprised that such a pushover-looking guy reacted so quickly. He stared at him and flicked out his tongue rapidly, on the defensive just in case he would do something. With the way he was holding that thing so close, he was acting like he was protecting something precious. Like a mate. Which was really weird, because it was only a project, right?

He only eased slightly when he apologized, refusing to apologize in return for trying to take it. In fact, he planned on trying again later, because his dedication to it only made him more curious. He watched as he covered it with a cloth, making a mental note to be quick if he wanted to steal it without him catching him.

He was about to reluctantly head to the work station when another student arrived. Ah, he remembered her. And seeing her reminded him of the glasses. ... But he could only steal one thing at a time, and he was going to stick with whatever was under that cloth. "Hello," He greeted her and watched her head off to work on her own thing before turning to the teacher and asking as if nothing just happened, "Did you cut and weld those pieces I asked for?"

Whilst Monica was working on her master piece a boy with horns greeted her. "Oh, hello" she said to him with a smile on her face. Not many people had greeted her since she had come here. But she sure was glad when someone did.

After a long session of work, Monica was done. Monica raised her machine glasses off her face and looked at the watch. Man, I did a pretty good job! Monica took of her work glasses and put on her proper glasses. She was done. How exciting!

It looks like this

"Yes I did," Saeslin said. "You can find them on the table there, Markus." He looked around the room, with a slight frown. Monica was slaving away but his other student, Eros, hadn't come in today. He hoped everything was alright.

"Markus," he said, looking at the other boy. "Did you happen to see Eros when you left the dorm this morning? Assuming the two of you are in the same one, of course." He glanced down at what Monica was doing, seeing that she was working on refurbishing an old pocket watch. Well, he'd just meant that as a possible example but he supposed it was fine for a first project.

"Well done. Have you got it working?"

((I'm going to assume she didn't build a watch from scratch since that would be impossible since she would need to smelt silver for it and there's no way she'd know how to do that. LoL. So for the sake of logic, I'm assuming she simply refurbished one that was in the scraps on her table. =3 ))

"Acta est fabula, plaudite!"

Markus nodded and moved to his table, looking down at the pieces and hoping he got the right measurements. He picked up a few of the pieces to try to judge which one was which, since they just looked like blurs to him. He looked up when the teacher said his name, wondering what he wanted. Eros? ... Ah, the guy he headbutted into oblivion.

But why would he suddenly ask about him? Did he... know what happened? Sure that he suspected him of murder, he glared at him as he hissed out his response, "No, I didn't. I haven't seen him since the last time I came to class." Not true, but he didn't need to know about the whole disappearance thing.

With that, he started putting the pieces to his device together, having some difficulty since he couldn't really see what he was doing. But, eventually, with the help of a lot of strong wood glue and screws, he managed to put the whole thing together. It looked like a perfectly normal birdhouse on the outside, but on the inside was a very crude, but hopefully functioning blender. He would have to wait until the glue dried to test it out though.

After plucking a few splinters from his fingers with his nails, he flicked his tongue out to see his surroundings. It seemed like the other girl refurbished a pocket watch. Boring. Even the glasses were more interesting than that. He moved away from his work station and walked toward the door, as if he were about to leave, but he wasn't going to go just yet. There was one more thing he needed to do. As he passed by the teacher's desk, he quickly moved to scoop the covered device up and run, determined to get a good look at it now. But mostly he did it just because he didn't like being told no.

Saeslin almost didn't catch what Markus had done. It happened so fast, but as he looked around, trying to figure out why the boy had suddenly run (which was after Saeslin tried to work out what the heck he'd built), he realized the heart was gone.

"No!" he cried, rushing to the table. "No, no!" No! He'd taken it!? Why would he do that!? Why? That was months of work! And he'd finally gotten it nearly complete and nearly working! No! Saeslin flung the cloth aside, moving the tools on the table around in a vain attempt to see if maybe Markus had just knocked it aside. But no, it was gone.

Saeslin ran to the door, hoping to catch Markus, but the boy was gone. Why? Saeslin couldn't understand why Markus would steal his personal work? He dragged his hands through his hair trembling with anxiety and, well, anger. What if he broke it? It was obviously Saeslin's fault for putting any faith at all in his students.

This was just...it was unacceptable! Regardless if Markus broke it or not, Saeslin simply couldn't permit theft. He wouldn't let Markus back in his shop. He wouldn't let him anywhere near his work again. Never! It was too important to let someone manhandle it or take it as they pleased.

He tried to take deep breaths. First, he would get it back. And then...then he would ensure the boy was punished. And then he would lock up all his work and keep it hidden when students were around. He would only open the shop for class. And he would set up dividers to keep them out of his work area. Right. Okay.

He had a plan.

"Acta est fabula, plaudite!"

Markus made sure to duck behind a corner as he made his escape, wanting to make sure he wouldn't chase after him. He seemed pretty protective of... whatever the thing was, so he was certain he would come after him. He peeked around the corner, spotting the teacher looking out of the classroom, searching for him and looking rather distraught.

He felt a little guilty for taking it, but it was his fault for not letting him see it. He looked down at the device, being gentle with it since it was clearly something precious to him. He flicked his tongue out, realizing that the shape was familiar. It looked a lot like a... heart. He found that a little disturbing, and thought it was probably just a coincidence, but after a little poking around, it seemed like it was supposed to function in a similar way. Or maybe it was just is imagination.

Well, either way, he got to look at it like he originally wanted, and he wasn't a thief, so he moved from his spot and looked into the classroom. Well, he may have had horrible vision, but it was easy to tell that the teacher was probably not in his right mind at the moment. He had no clue taking the heart-like thing would cause him to freak out that much. "Um..." He mumbled, not even sure what to say or how to give it back to him. He was almost afraid to approach him, so he just held it out to him from behind the door frame, using it as a shield just in case, "Uh, sorry. Here...?"

What a good job Monica had done. She loved the job she had done on the old pocket watch. She noticed the teacher looking at her work. She smiled and spun it up and got it working.

There seemed to be some shanaigians going on between the teacher and the boy in the classroom, Monica just tried to ignore it and found a chain for her watch and attached it. "Do you like it... sir?" she asked and put the watch on the table and polished it one more time.

((Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention that))

Saeslin was relieved when Markus returned with the heart and handed it back over to him. He took it quickly, hunching over it a little to see if it was damaged. "I...I do not like thieves," Saeslin said, coldly. He was relieved it wasn't broken, but that didn't mean he wasn't angry "Or disrespectful students. If you intend to take things that don't belong to you, or touch my work without permission, you will transfer out of this class." He turned to look at Markus, feeling a little betrayed that the one he thought would be a promising student had done something so horrible. "I don't ask much but I do ask that students respect my personal work. Some of these things have taken years to develop and build. If you are not going to respect that, you can leave. Now. And do not return."

He turned and strode away from Markus, shaking with anger.

Saeslin brushed past Monica without looking her way. Surely she could see he wasn't in a position to look at her project just then. He'd had one of his belongings taken! And she was acting as if nothing happened. It was difficult not to be frustrated with her as well and though he was kicking himself for losing control, he walked to his workbench and put his hands on the surface, taking a few deep breaths.

"Class is over. You are both dismissed. Leave your work on your table and I will grade it by next class."

"Acta est fabula, plaudite!"

Markus sighed in relief when the teacher took it back, glad that he didn't hit him with a wrench or something equally violent. With the way he was clutching the heart, he wouldn't be surprised if he was willing to do just that to protect it. He frowned as he scolded him, instead of thanking him like he should have. Really? He understood that his work was precious to him and everything, but he only wanted to look at it. He was acting like he stole it from him and didn't give it back or broke it. But he gave it back, intact! He was lucky that he even made the effort to be nice to him.

As the teacher walked away and the other student tried to show him her project, he snuck into the room and flicked out his tongue, checking to see if the tables were bolted down to the ground. Yep. That would certainly help with what he was about to do. He clung to the nearest table and glared at the teacher defiantly as he told them to leave. "I'm staying," He told him with a hiss, tightening his grip on the table and bracing himself for the worst. Hopefully the girl would have the common sense to leave though, because he wasn't sure what Cathain would do. He already wasn't in the best of moods, and he was sure he was only going to piss him off more and more. But it was his fault for being so demanding.

The teacher couldn't look at Monica's project. Monica stepped away from the teacher and looked the watch. She wanted to keep it, but the teacher needed to grade it. Monica rubbed a cloth on it one last time and left it on her desk.

The bell rang, Monica jumped alittle at the sound of the loud bell. "See uou sir" Monica said quietly and headed out the door.

Saeslin looked at Markus as he latched onto a table and refused to leave the class. For a long moment, he debated breaking out one of the remote controlled automatons, but he eventually simply crossed his arms and gave Markus a steely look. "Suit yourself. Not only will you miss your next class--for which I will not be writing you an excuse. But you will also fail this project in my class due to disrespecting my personal property. I shall write up a disciplinary report against you and shall call the security guards to remove you from my class."

"I believe such a display will put you in danger of being suspended or possibly expelled from the school given your earlier actions as well. This is my classroom and you will respect my authority or you will leave. It's your choice whether that is on your own two feet or it is being dragged out by school security."

"I believe I shall give you ten seconds to decide but I caution you to choose wisely." He pulled out a pocket watch and glanced down at it, beginning to mark the time."

Markus glared at the teacher as he seemed to be thinking about something. He was probably thinking of a way to pry him off the table. He tightened his grip and frowned as he threatened to fail him and call security. Pff, it would take more than security to pull him off, and he didn't care about his grade if it meant he had to do as Cathain said, and not what he wanted.

And expulsion meant nothing to him. He could learn everything school could teach him on his own anyway. He was just there because it gave him a place to live anyway. Ah, maybe he could use that to his advantage, because guilting people always seemed to work. "If I'm expelled, I'll just have to learn how to live on the streets," He told him as Cathain pulled out the pocket watch. No, he refused to feel pressured by that. "If you could live with yourself after forcing someone to leave the only home they ever had, then you need more than ten seconds to rethink this."
