Once again, Catriona was faced with certain death. She'd been knocked to her knees, a human with an axe stood above her with her death in his eyes. To her surprise, her luck held out. Must be that fish charm she still carried from last week's classes. Yet again, she was saved from certain death by an ally distracting her attacker, this time feeling exhilaration from his death.

The fighting was not a slow progression, but a sudden swarm of action, and he felt more disoriented than focused. Medication here was impossible to think about, let alone do, and Calder stood awkwardly with his daggers, dressed in robes that didn't feel fitting for moving, and using daggers, not on wooden mannequins but ACTUAL humans. Humans with weapons and a hatred for what he was and represented.
They want to kill us all. Who started this war?
Then again, the horsemen brought them here. It had to be right, right? Then again, was this even real? It FELT real, but he had gone through enough situations that felt real that turned out not to be. Considering the intensity of the situation, he wasn't about to fight as if it wasn't the real deal, because the one time he would be proven wrong - he'd be proven dead. Possibly Permanently.
The humans did not give him the option of going single file with their attacks, and spotting something that looked rather equine, dressed in robes, and armed, not to mention rather slender, they attacked. Taken by alarm, he was left slicing and dodging as best he could, but his limited knowledge learned in War was greatly tested against humans who wanted nothing but to see him bleed.
These humans do not want to capture you. These humans do not want to cage you or make you into a weapon. These humans only want you dead.
It was a shocking contrast to the Hunters he had faced, and while they had been ruthless, these humans wanted a final end to them all. They shouted and snarled at him, slashing with swords and daggers, and he felt a shield slam against his side. He was fast, but that amounted for very little when he felt a sharp pain in his leg as a turned to evade two humans who were taking jabs at him. He had to move. He had to shake the group off of him and taken them one by one.
He turned and moved into the fray of shields and blade, finding an opening to escape.

Junko had absolutely no idea what to expect from a class on the Isle of Death. None. Not even a little. At least with Conquest she had been prepared with a class subject, and she had been given time to explore and learn about the clan a little. Death? She knew nothing about Death other than what had been presented to her already.
Junko wasn't expecting to fall asleep shortly after arriving.
She also wasn't expecting to be released with the other students into a war zone. She didn't like the look of any of the weapons being offered to her; the mere thought of being anywhere near blades had her trembling with anxiety. Chains. These chains looked safe. She could do thing without...without worrying she was going to cut off her own hair...

The first thing Junko came across was a band of humans wielding...weapons. Hunters?! W..were these hunters?! Even back then?! Oh Jack why!? Junko squeaked, lashing out with her chains and failing miserably as she was struck with them. Ow! Owowowow!
She backed away, her leg aching with pain as she tried not to show too much weakness. Owwww..

More humans came at her and Junko gasped, lashing the chains out again. This time they wrapped around the throat of one of them, and as she tugged back she heard a loud SNAP.
The human fell to the ground, his body limp. Junko gasped and tugged the chain away again, a hand clamped against her mouth as she just stared at the limp body. She..she killed a human! Oh jack she killed a human how could she do that she was a terrible creature not even the good kind of terrible oh jack you're not supposed to kill humans how could she oh jack she was going to be sent to jai--
OHJACKWHATWASTHAT?!
Humans on steeds. Large, fearsome and more terrifying than she'd ever be. She managed to knock them all off their steeds, but she was trampled to death in the process.

Her shield was gone, broken to pieces and shards. A few splinters found themselves into her hands and her leg but they went unnoticed through the continued assault. In a vain attempt to get a few of them off, she threw a reasonably sized chunk wildly at one their heads. Thankfully it managed to connect, taking one man down as well as a few others in a domino effect. It didn't make them stop but it at least threw them off enough to halt in their attacks.
This gave the small ghoul a chance to get to her feet weakly, another chunk of shield in one hand and a random dagger in the other. Olivia back peddled at first when she tried to straighten herself up, shots of pain running through her legs where she was hit the most. It was a horrible sensation, something she hadn't felt in such a long time.
When the men came at her again, she threw and she stabbed, unsure of how well she was doing. She was fighting blindly, weakly and without much thought. The wight hoped she was at least taking out some of them, but didn't get much of a chance to look when she felt herself in the air around and on the ground.
Her dagger flew from her fingers, there was a grunt and the whiny of a horse. But then the heaviness and sheer pressure as horse hooves bounded upon her chest, cracking her ribs and making her eyes roll back in their sockets.

((Auto death for surviving 5+ rounds))
Shun managed to tune out a good amount of the pain; enough so that he could still move on about. His eye narrowed as he saw one human with his back turned. Moving in on him he was quick to bury the blade of his dagger deep into his backside, going straight for the heart. Pulling out, he turned and struck an incoming human across the throat with his second dagger.
Gritting his teeth, he was able to take down a handful more. It was the same as usual for him. Ending these humans didn't bring him much satisfaction outside of feeling their fear as they died. Even then, it was just to help keep him moving on. There was no regret either for that matter.
Then, he saw one particular human coming in towards him on horseback. He didn't really have much room to run anywhere, so he was going to need to do something quick here. If he took out the rider, perhaps he would be able to grab the horse for his own. Gripping onto the daggers, he barely managed to move out of the way before stabbing into the man's leg. This wasn't working out. Daggers weren't meant for anti-calvary. This might be easier if he could shadow step, but that wasn't going to work right now. While the horse was coming back around, he threw his two daggers at the man. One sailed past thanks to his gimped depth perception while the other bounced harmlessly off of his armor.
"Kusoo.." he hissed before spotting a long spear on the ground. Quickly, he grabbed onto it and planted the butt into the dirt, pointing it at his attacker. He somehow managed to impale the rider onto it, but in the process, he felt the horse's heavy hooves kicking him in the head.
Falling over, he didn't have any time to move out of the way before the large equine trampled over his body relentlessly, diminishing what was left of his strength rather quickly.
Shun could taste blood in his mouth once again as he laid there in the ground, unable to move. What was the point in this battle? He hadn't thought on it much during the fight due to his efforts to survive, but as he was now there dying, he couldn't help but wonder. Was this some past events of the hunters first striking out at halloween? If so was this bound to happen again in the future?
There would be no answers for him right now as his body finally gave in, dissipating into fear.

It was an odd sensation. Even with her cracked ribs and so many broken pieces of herself, it wasn't getting hard to breathe but the ghoul knew she was dying. How she was, she wasn't sure but she knew. It was familiar, this awareness of death. She had experienced it before after all, even though she didn't fully remember it.
Slowly her eyes began to flutter closed as her body began to break and dissipate on the battle grounds. Her mind, eeriely calm as everything faded and stilled and her consciousness just stopped trying and went out.

Leaving the corpse where it lay, he moved on, snapping and growling at any human that crossed his path. Until eventually he found himself surrounded by several humans; weapons drawn and ready. It got worse when he realized that all of them had their attention on him.
Oh great..!
Immediately his hackles rose, ears flat against his skull as he bared his teeth at them. The fur around his mouth still stained red with the blood of their ally. He supposed it could be a frightening sight to some, but against battle hardened men, who had you outnumbered? It probably just look like a terrified over sized dog.
One by one, the attacks came. Their swords biting into him like a swarm of angry, deadly wasps. It hurt. It hurt real bad, but eventually more warriors came, distracting them long enough for him to break through and escape, before they could deal a killing blow. Now badly hurt and limping, he hobbled through the battle field, until eventually he came across another student. A female--and canine, by the scent of her.
"Mind if fight along side you?" He asked, hobbling a little closer as he favored one paw.

Another smile. “Thank ye.” She stumbled forward a few steps as Shun pushed her away. “Whit?” Dev tried to look back at the reaper, but nearly shrieked when another human engaged battle with her. Her attention continuously switched between searching for Shun within the battlefield and fending off the enemy. She revealed her pointed teeth at her attacker, pressing her ears against her head as she summoned the strength to push the man away. The man toppled over, allowing Dev to gladly step over him and bash him once with her weapon before she let the human become trampled to death, his shouts muffled beneath the numerous feet of comrades and enemies alike. The wild glimmer of fear dancing in his eyes had been gratifying.
A whinnying horse grabbed her attention for a mere moment, just in time to see her new comrade disappear. She howled angrily. “Nae!” Dev shrieked, taking the heads of two humans and furiously crashing them against each other before she hit them both with the sharp edge of her shield. Just after she had gotten to know her first, fellow student since her arrival here, he had to dissipate! What luck.
There was a black figure in the corner of her vision and she turned toward it. It was large and unmistakably canine. She let a grin adorn her face as her tail swished. “Nae at aw, go ahead.” Dev tiredly stepped closer to the black dog and envious at his natural form. Why hadn’t she thought of that? She adjusted her grip on her shield as she heard singing. Instantly, she felt better. “Ahm Dev, ye?”

((And death! After surprisingly surviving for five+ rounds...))
It seemed that her luck would not hold forever, she thought as she felt something sharp enter her back. Looking down, she could see the tip of an arrow just piercing the flesh of her chest. The world began to slow, the sounds of battle fading as she fell to her knees, then onto her side. 'Strange...' she thought to herself as her vision faded with the last of the battle cries. 'It doesn't even really hurt...'

He heard them shouting, pressing through the crowd, pursuing, but the were soon lost. There were more that took his place to fight, and Calder looked around, wondering who or if he should target someone. I'm being trained to hurt humans. To protect myself from being killed. The entire battle here showed how strongly the members of Halloween and the Clans felt about humans that opposed them, who didn't fear them. This wasn't just about Hunters, was it? These hunters, these humans, seemed entirely against them simply existing. This wasn't converting them to be something else to use them. It wasn't as sick as that, but it wasn't great either. Which was better? None, really, but at least these humans wanted a honest fight.
Not that Calder wanted a fight at all. What happened to the natural order of things?
A human rose, towering before him, bigger than some monsters he knew, and shouted something in a language he didn't know. The tone translated to bloodthirsty, and holding up his daggers, he watched as a massive sword was raised to strike him.
A call came out, and ears back and looking up, Calder turned in time to see a Horsemen behind him, swinging a sword and cleanly cutting the head of the human before him. The body hung a moment in place, before dropping down beside Calder like a fallen tree, bleeding out.
It wasn't just the humans that hated here and wanted to see a final end to their enemies.

Tybalt was both relieved and thankful when she agreed to let him fight along side her. He felt like he was going to drop dead and dissipate at any given moment, but despite this, even as injured as he was, thanks to her, he held a little more hope about surviving this. Or at least lasting a little longer than he would on his own.
"Thanks." He answered, trying to hear past the thick accent and make out the words. "I'm Tybalt?" He hadn't met her before. Tybalt had a knack for remembering all canine students. Even if he hardly ever remembered anyone else. He didn't re-call meeting her.
Before he could say anything more, weariness finally overcame him, forcing him to slump to the ground, unable to stand any longer. Whether this was the end or not, he couldn't say, but even on the verge of death, he heard something. At first, he thought it was just him going crazy, but eventually, he made out words and then realized it was a song. Someone was singing. Who was singing and how they were singing during battle, or how he could hear it so clearly, he couldn't say, but the effects of the song seemed to do away with both his weariness and injuries.
He was healed?
"Did you hear that, just now?" He asked. Now back on his feet and looking back towards the other ghoul.

Raziel continued to wage war along with the others against the humans. It was a grueling battle, with no room for mistake or weakness. It seemed like it would last forever, or at least he wouldn't be alive to see the end of it.
The monster was feeling drained, exhausted, ready to just lay down and die. But he heard something. He couldn't quite place it, the sound came from both near and far at the same time. It had a wonderfully rejuvenating quality to it, and for some reason Raziel didn't feel tired anymore. The ache in his limbs from the battle was gone and his energy levels seemed to be as though he had just woken up from the best sleep of his life.

Although Raziel thought he had been killing humans left and right this entire time, he was dead wrong. Since he hadn't stuck around to actually see any of them fall, die, or even notice his inflicted wound, he just presumed them dead and moved on his merry way.
Before long, Raziel was fighting a human who did notice the wound Raziel had given him and immediately tried to return the favor. The monster couldn't get away so easily this time and was thus forced to actually fight this human. In blade to blade combat, the human probably had better training than the blue boil, but something today gave Raziel the great idea to bring some creativity onto the battlefield. Using the most non-swordsman techniques ever thought of, Raziel somehow managed to kill the human.
His first kill did wonders for his depleted energy, bringing him back to the pinnacle of battle ready. And with that kill under his belt, he leapt forward, ready to claim more human lives.
