Once redressed in a tank top and some pajama pants, Andy made her way to the kitchen and started dinner. It was a simple affair she really hadn't felt like cooking, so had opted for the mac and cheese route.
After dinner and Tali had finished with the dishes she flipped through channels looking for something to watch before settling on Modern Marvels. It was a rerun but it worked. She glanced over at Tali who hadn't settled in for the evening and was looking at her hands in her lap. Andy shifted a bit and moved to put her arm around Tali. "Something up, Tal?" she asked giving her a gentle squeeze.

"Yes!...I mean no, I mean..." she wrung her hands. "I mean..." she fidgeted for a moment then quickly removed her mask, slipped down part of her helmet, and kissed Andy before she could think about it anymore.
She felt Andy stiffen, and nearly pulled away, when she felt Andy wrap her arms around her and hold her tight against her. A little thrill went through Tali as she put her arms around Andy's neck, her eyes fluttering closed and hesitantly deepening the kiss. She'd pay for this later with a fever, but right now...it was worth it.

Andy was shocked beyond words when Tali suddenly kissed her. That had been the last thing she'd expected. Her hands hovered slightly over Tali's shoulders, unsure what to do, but suddenly found herself putting them around the other femme and hugging her close. To her surprise instead of pulling away, Tali deepened the kiss which was fine with Andy.
When they finally did pull apart, Andy gasped finally seeing Tali's face. It was no effect of her mask, Tali's eyes were really and truly luminous, a fact that sent little shivers down Andy's spine. She reached up and gently traced a finger along the part of Tali's face she could reach. A wisp of dark, slightly curling hair, showed against Tali's cheek. "You're beautiful." Andy whispered in awe. "I mean not that it really matters, I'd fallen for you being you, not anything else. I just...wow...you're...stunning." she shook her head. "That came out awkward." she then bit her lip realizing how big of a risk this must have been for Tali. "Are you gonna be okay?"

Tali laughed her voice sounding odd to even her without the filter. "It's alright Andy." She said smiling. She readjusted her helm and put her mask back on, letting the suit immediately pump her full of antibiotics. She reached over and patted Andy's hand reassuring her. "I'll be fine. I'm already swimming in antibiotics and I did take some supplements earlier. I'll have a fever soon, but with any luck nothing worse." she looked over at Andy and squeezed the other femme's hand. "I had to start adjusting to you sometime."
She laughed seeing the puzzled expression on Andy's face.

Andy raised a confused eyebrow and stared at Tali. "What do you mean 'adjust'?" she was sure it wasn't nearly as bad as it sounded but to start off with it sounded rather unflattering to her. "I'm sure I'm just misunderstanding something, but that sounds kinda..." she shrugged letting Tali figure out the rest.
That had been a rather nice surprise. Tali was good at reading body language. Anyone's body language, not that it should be surprising really...Andy figured you had to be good at it being in a suit all the time. The upside was that Tali could often infer what Andy was really trying to say without her having to come right out and say it.

Tali figured Andy wouldn't understand. "Adapt is a better word. Basically once my system adjusts to yours I can spend longer outside of my suit with ill effect. I did try to prepare myself as best I could before actually attempting to kiss you." she stopped and wondered how that sounded...probably not as flattering as it should have been...that was the hard part sometimes, dealing with someone who had no clue.
It was actually a big deal for her race to go the lengths to acclimatize themselves to someone else, and while not the most romantic thing it was the biggest grandest gesture she could find to make to Andy that her affections were returned.

Andy listened and then nodded. That made sense in an odd sort of way. She then snorted and smiled a bit. "I get it. I think anyway. You have to push your tolerances to make yourself stronger. Otherwise there would always be a wall between us. Literally." she said teasingly running a finger down the front of Tali's suit.
"That couldn't have been the best way though. Isn't there a safer way to acclimatize you to me? Not that I didn't like the kiss, I'm just worried about you." she said giving the other woman a look.

"Basically." she said catching Andy's hand and giving it a squeeze. She fidgeted and then nodded. "Yes, there are, but it isn't nearly as romantic, and I wanted you to know that...I feel the same way about you Andy."
She looked up and wondered if Andy could tell how helpless she really felt. She must have as Tali felt herself being pulled into the other woman's lap. She put her arms around Andy's neck and rested her head on her chest. If she listened closely she thought she could hear Andy's heartbeat, though it was very muffled. She sighed and snuggled as close as she could get.

Andy shook her head and cuddled Tali on her lap for a few moments. "So are you gonna tell me this other way, or am I gonna have to guess?" she said with a chuckle.
She somewhat forcefully danced her fingers along the outside of Tali's suit under the arm. While the suit absorbed most of the force, Tali would at least get a light sense of pressure, and understand that she was "tickling" her as best could be managed.

Tali was about to answer as she felt the finger tips of her...what was Andy now to her? Girlfriend? Mate? Probably not that last one...least not yet. She settled on girlfriend and squirmed for Andy's benefit. Although just enough force did come through the layers of her suit that she felt something almost close to a tickle.
She caught Andy's hand and rested it against the side of her helmet and tilted her head against it. "Well, you have that armor in your closet. I would assume that it has self sustaining capabilities?" she waited for a nod and then went on. "Basically we hook your suits environmental systems up to mine and..." she paused. "Exchange atmospheres." she fidgeted for a moment. "It's how my people normally adjust to their," another pause. "Mates." she squeaked.
She then went on quickly. "See far less romantic, normally something like I just did would really only be attempted in a clean room, and after the acclimatization period."

Andy listened to the explanation and nodded. It was indeed far less of a romantic gesture than a kiss. "Well we can do that." she said. "As soon as you're over this little adventure." she smiled and then realized the level of commitment that this meant for the pair of them. Not to mention that while she was hiding it, Tali was embarrassed.
"So this isn't something you just do with anyone? Like a boyfriend or girlfriend when you were a teenager and dating?" Did Quarians date? She'd heard of complicated relationships, but this was a whole new level. She absently wondered if Quarians had a reduced risk of teenage pregnancy. Probably since it was a lot harder to just hop in the sack, when the sack had to be perfectly sterilized, and you had to make sure you weren't chronically allergic to your partner.
She bit the inside of her mouth and then smirked a bit. "You're cute when you're embarrassed." she said gently tracing a finger along Tali's hood. "Let me guess, this is almost like talking about the actual act of sex, isn't it?"
