Halting her steps with a sharp clatter, Famine slowly turned to look at the young zombie. She tilted her head and several locusts flew up from the flowers to being circling him. She advanced on him, but this time the clatter of her movements were softer, almost playful was she drew in close, leaning down until she was mere inches from his face, "A question...I have answerssss." She smiled and there was a soft chiming from her robes, "But do I have the one you seek? That is indeed a question to ask."

He probably should've gotten at least a little bit more used to people being inches from his face after Eris's treatment, but nope: having a stranger do it was very different. A stranger with locusts and flowers that grew backwards and forwards and had very, very nice clothes. And bones.
He swallowed a bit, somewhat caught off guard that she'd stoop to talk, figuratively and literally, trying at a nervous smile but finding that he couldn't pull his face away for more polite talking distance. "Y-Yes, er, ah, hope so. Um." He glanced at the oasis as if to assure himself that what he'd seen there and in the Den was not a lie, not a desert illusion. "Noticed strange things n' water, w-was hoping could ask: is oil? Saw black stuff n' w-was asking self why have oil n' water. And, er, stuff."
Maybe he should've taken Conquest first and learned how to "speak weller".

The sound of small, tinkling chimes filled the air and she answered, still smiling, "Why oil and water? Because bloom and wither." She leaned in and places a gentle kiss on the zombie's forehead. "Because growth and decay." She leaned back and turned again, leaving the area, a soft rattle of laughter in her wake. "Because...." He voice faded into the soft buzz locusts. The kiss seems to have done something to Mort's mind, for the rest of the day he has extreme clarity of thought and recall. A peek under his hood would reveal a very fresh looking brain. (exiting)

Mort's cogitations would in fact take two posts, as kisses have a tendency to make him short out - even ones on the forehead that gave him awesome presents like new brains. Still, before he went into a daze (which he was probably going to do anyway regardless of the meeting), he found a rejuvenated sense of . . . purpose. Yes, he supposed that word would work. Even as things went fuzzy, Mort could feel the cogs whirring, thoughts racing n his head as new connections were made . . . too bad he dozed off by the wall as the Horsemen left, of he might've shouted something like "EUREKA!"

Roll 2 61 - 80: You hear a strange buzzing noise, and see a small colony of bugs, what look like locusts moving in and out of the oasis area. What are they doing in a place like this? He awoke to the sound of buzzing. Not just that of his brain, but of the kind of quality that could only be produced by insects. Half an hour after his opportune meeting with the Horseman, Mort woke up with a stiff neck and to the sound of a passerby horseman snickering.
But he/she/it could snicker all he/she/it wanted to, because upon waking Mort realized something: he'd essentially gotten upgraded from crappy DSL to high speed Wifi with that one kiss. And he didn't even get her name. But now he would remember stuff like this because <******** yeah his brain was awesome now and not half decomposed. Hell, even his FEAR flowed more smoothly, and he got back up with such a large, goofy, and exuberant grin that the same self horseman snorted before leaving the area.
Mort took a moment to see if he could find a trace of where the mysterious woman had gone, but other than the locusts buzzing about there was nothing. He took solace in the insects' company, though, and coaxed a few onto his shoulder before leaving.
If he could ever find the woman again, he'd have to kiss her feet like a goddess.
(( Exit! ))

Vaith hadn't seen the Famine incident. No, he was hungry. It might have been nice if Famine had a more varied .. food palette rather than slops. But he took what he got and still got hungry. When he went back to Amytiville, he was going to get food. Lots of snacks, to stock up.
More locusts .. again. hm.

21 - 40: You see something move in the water, and you try to take a closer look at it. The shadow in the water responds by reaching out, nearly dragging you into the water forever. You barely wriggle out of its grasp - did you just get attacked by a plant?
OK Q___Q HE HOPED THE BUGS DIDNT DO THIS TOO.
Vaith never wanted to get near the water again. Imagine swimming in there, would that lead to your instant and forever-timed death?

When Arynek was at oasis, she heard the buzzing noise of the bugs again. This was the second time she saw this group of bugs here, what they were doing actually?

Rafael braced himself. He was going to give this another shot, even if he was alone and even if it gave him the creeps. At least the last time he had been here nothing had hurt him, so that should count for something.
Now, in the early morning as he poked his way through the Oasis before class, he tried to consider his uneasiness logically. Something had been bothering him about Famine Isle ever since he'd arrived, and everything that bothered him about it seemed most highly concentrated...here.
He walked slowly through the Oasis, thinking.
Things he didn't mind about Famine: The underground tunnels. The communal sleeping. The catch-as-catch-can relationship to food. All of those things were very familiar to him. Those were all rat qualities.
Things he did mind about Famine: The isolation, especially above ground. The way all the horsemen seemed to be crazy. The way everything on the island seemed hostile.
That last part was the worst. Maybe he was just traumatized by the plants, but he thought there was more to it than that. The insect swarms and the carnivorous plants and the agitated alchemy instructor.
And now, as he walked through the oasis, the reeds shifted and seemed....to be watching him. This whole place gave him the shivers.

It just...he didn't understand. Why were things so aggressive and shifty here? If there was one place that seemed like it should be safe, it was Famine.
But maybe that was his problem. Who expected anything here to be safe?
Something caught his eye in the water and he leaned forward, trying to get a better look. As he did so, a plant extended a tendril of a vine and curled around his leg.
Cursing, he struggled away, nearly falling on his face as he did so. He clawed at the plant, trying to free his leg from it.
"Enough...with...the...candlejacking...murderous...plants!" He said, panting with effort at disentangling himself. "I am SO done with this."
Annoyed, he stumbled away back toward the dorms. This was ridiculous.

It seemed like Zurine had once more hit on the oasis' quiet time of the day - which was nice but also unfortunate as she would have liked to find someone here to chat with. Ah well..perhaps someone would show up before she left.

Pausing a safe distance from the waters edge she eyed the plants at the edge warily..she could have sworn that they had been following her only a moment before, almost bending towards her but once she stopped to look at them they stopped. Was she imagining things? In this place it was hard to say.

That was the third time she visited the oasis and saw the "locusts", maybe it's a good idea to ask Bulbous about them, he seemed to be good at insect knowledge......maybe he could solve her inquiries....hopefully. She went back to the caves while still hearing the buzzing sound at the back.

While keeping her eye on the reeds Zurine accidentally moved a bit to close to the waters edge and before she knew it another tendril of plant had snaked out of the water and tried to snatch her up again, Startled she jerked backwards and managed to break the hold quickly putting some distance between herself and the waters edge. Blasted plants!

Quote: 81- 100: You notice a thick black texture in the water of the oasis. It almost looks like.... oil? (see below for horsemen point prompt) As she flailed away from the water Zurine thought she saw that strange oil again. She'd seen it once before of course and it was a bit of a curiosity - really she ought to try and remember to ask someone about it at some point.
