Jove wasn't really sure what possessed him to try entering the Toxic Caves. It seemed to be another training exercise, and all the other students seemed to be trying it. But... It was kinda gloomy, and the pup couldn't suppress the overwhelming sense of being buried alive.
A hollow metallic sound rang out, and he began to run.

Suddenly the ground dropped below the pup's feet, and glowing blue eyes scanned the area to try and find an alternative route. There were ropes, but nowhere to swing to. There were rocks to climb down, and some natural handholds in the wall, but he panicked. And slipped.
In the most ungraceful descent ever, Jove landed hard on the ground below and limped a couple steps before regaining his momentum.

The pup continued downwards, and suddenly there was a dark pool of water at his feet. Without hesitating, he dove, and doggie paddled as fast as he could deeper into the cave. Soon he hit a dead end.
Panicking, he turned around and paddled in the other direction, spotting a passage he missed earlier.

Paddling hard, the pup splashed the water in front of him. He was getting turned around! He tried to breathe deeply, and when he ended up in another dead end (or was it the first one again?) he tried to remember what Yaya told him. Long, smooth strokes.

The mental effort paid off, once he calmed down and began to swim like a student and not a dog, he found himself progressing faster. His feet soon touched the ground, and barely soon enough to avoid the mist! He quickly scrambled out of the water and continued to run through the cave.

The path began to narrow, until Jove could touch both sides of the wall with his hands. Thankfully he was small, and had no problem crawling through the small passages ahead of the toxic fumes. He was short enough to simply duck where the ceiling got low... Mostly. Ouch.

The little pup's ears perked as he saw a faint haze of light on the walls, and then the doors became clear. He was almost out! Then he realized the opening was getting narrow. The doors were closing! Putting on a burst of speed, the pup bodychecked the door, and knocked it open just wide enough to slip through!

Edel stood in contemplation outside the cave, wondering if it was a good idea to enter it. The noxious fumes were terribly thick and the result was that visibility was low; her attempts at trying to see what lay within the cave were futile.
But, nothing ventured nothing gained. The frost demon decided to head in there anyway, clearly under prepared for what was to come.

As if it weren't bad enough that the fumes were obscuring a good part of her vision, there was barely any lighting within the cave. Edel was cautious enough not to venture into complete darkness, opting to stay by the wall of the cave and make her way forward. It wasn't that the decision to do so wasn't sound, but mostly that the ghoul was just very unlucky.
A slip and a fall and a crack on the head. She had barely even started before she was out of it. Oh well.
((Stage 1 fail))

Quote: The Stadium:There is a small stadium for young War Horsemen set up away from the larger training fields, several circles set out for pairs to spar against each other in. A rather rugged looking female stands, dark skinned, light haired, covered in scars and warpaint, her hair unevenly cut in the back to a short length and ridiculously long and braided in the front, wrapped around itself, several feathers tucked into both it and the dark stained fabric, bones from several different types of creatures weaved into jewelry she wears, her wings colored like a golden eagle. On one arm, she has several slashes of paint – what looks like hundreds, trailing down it. After staring too long she finally speaks up:
“There is one for each battle I have won.” She said simply, shifting the pole she held to her other hand before turning to show her other arm, which is spotted with paint of a different color – and much more numerous. “I have one for each battle I have lost as well. To become a true warrior, you must climb your way to the top from the very bottom, and the best place to start is practicing against those who may just be better than you.” She explained, before motioning to one of the circles and an individual that was practicing on their own.
“Go join them.” She says, “If you think you’re ready. If you win, you will be paired up with the winner of another spar. So on, and so forth. After five victories, a break will be allowed for the day.” She says, the only explanation she gives as she hands off a small staff.Mechanics There are 5 roundsRoll 2d8 each post First post is how hard you hit Second post is how hard the opponent hit You want to roll higher than your NPC opponent. And he went back to the stadium, intent on trying again. The first ghoul he went up against was a decent fighter, but he managed to take her down with a hit to the side. He was feeling pretty good as he faced off against his next opponent.

Problem was, this was the same chick that had taken him out that last time he came to spar, and she aimed right for his right arm, again and again.
He was really going to have to do something about that, he thought as the fight finished with him losing.
