One of the stingbeasts did not appreciate being ignored by Odette. It followed her every move, making her auricular sponge clots numb to sound. She flailed her glaive in the air angrily, missing the jadeblood but effectively taking out the annoying beast. She guessed it wasn't a complete loss, but she knew she could do better.
Odette dealt 0 damage.

Generally, bugs were not Athene's deal. Owl-dad, for whatever reason, had an unusual habit of finding the things her in shop and taking care of them for her. Now, she just wished she had him to do that as she stomped on whatever she could and shook off what had bitten her. NOT. COOL. It was a shock she wasn't getting a fear of fauna from this pleasant experience. Stomping on what she could as she fan forward, she lashed out on his right leg again, wires wrapping around for a second before pulling loose, and then trying to trip him by pulling the wire taut and pulling forward. Dirty tricks were her way of working now.

In the fury of your attacks to rid yourself of the bees, you managed to hook a scorpion and send it flying towards its master, nearly tripping up the Jade Blood. Now if you could just do that more often.

Odette was sweating like an oinkbeast. She couldn't believe she didn't notice it before. Her coat clung to her skin grossly (not that she wasn't used to feeling gross), and now that she noticed, she had to do something about it. Shedding her coat, she threw it on the sand. Other wealthier trolls would have scoffed at her for dirtying such a nice coat, but it meant nothing to her. She could always make a new one. The battle at hand was much more important. Odette charged at the jadeblood's right leg again, letting out a barrage of attacks that she didn't even think she was capable of.
Odette dealt 16 damage.

Odette took another swing at her target, promptly missed, and lost her footing, face meeting sand one more time. She picked herself back up, refusing to believe that she was getting tired and that she was slipping her up. She had to keep going, she had to finish this.

Weak point: Right leg
HP: 844/1100 The bugs buzzed, swarmed, and slowly began to thin due to determined efforts on behalf of the stung and sore trolls. However as the droning and skittering died down, movement became visible between and underneath the burned remains of the vines. Slithering out from the renaming plant cover on the ground and from behind the house, snake-like plants began to advance on the trolls. Or were they plant-like snakes? Either way, their flower-like heads had some nasty looking jaws on them, and the jadeblood again moved so they were between him and the desert party. The dodge rolls go like this:
If you rolled a 1, then you seem to be one of the snake's central targets. They swarm determinedly, wrapping around your legs and biting down firmly. You start to feel woozy, seems there was something nasty in their bite! Loose 3 hp, and loose 1 hp every time you post unless you spend one half-hour attack pulling them off instead of attacking.
If you rolled a 2, one extra long vine-snake wraps around both your legs, pulling them out from underneath you. You land heavily and are swarmed by them, getting bites all over you. Thankfully they didn't manage to inject you with anything nasty. Loose 3 hp.
If you rolled a 3, you carefully dodge and kick snakes away, and think you're doing pretty well, until one of them rears up and bites your hand, causing you to drop your weapon. in your scramble to retrieve it, a few more get some nasty bites in. Loose 2 hp.
If you rolled a 4, a few snakes n** at your heels, causing you to stumble around awkwardly. Thankfully you manage to keep your balance and kick, hit, and stomp at them until they slither off to find an easier target. Loose 1 hp.
If you rolled a 5, you managed to keep your exoskeleton free of punctures, except for one little snake that took a nibble at you. It barely hurt, but you're feeling a little ... tingly? Looks like you've got one of its tooths stuck in you, but whatever!
If you rolled a 6, you successfully stamp out any snakevines that venture too close to you, and level up your stomping abilities. You are now a Sprightly Snakeslayer, congratulations!

With the swarms dying, Janzek had to admire the tenacity of the few trolls still standing, still fighting. This new generation held a lot of potential but he also had to give the Jade Blood credit. Having lasted so long and still seemingly going strong against so many all at once. Albeit a lot of the desert troll's continued success was due to his familiars, it still took skill and hard work to have achieved this level of taming. Under different circumstances, the drone would've loved to review the formulas used to bring those plants to life.
Speaking of which, where the Hell did that thing come from?! With a yelp of surprise, Janzek suddenly found himself with a mouthful of sand and several of the hungry vines got a mouthful of him.

Why did it have to be snakes? Unlike the other bugs, Odette wasn't used to fighting snakes. Sure, she had some experience handling them from scouting, but this was different! She struggled with the slithery creatures as they ganged up on her when she retrieved her weapon, and she was slightly dismayed by the damage they dealt to her. She was sure others were worse off than her, though. She'd been pretty lucky so far. Odette attacked Aendal from the behind this time, hitting the back of his right leg in an attempt to make his leg collapse.
