Jumping as Shehk made a startled noise, Jericho quickly looked around for signs of danger. There were none as far as he could tell. It did make him a bit nervous though. Grinning weakly at her, he looked down at the next clue. Oh! He was almost at the key! One more stop...

The dragon looked for any nearby stop signs.

Should she have underlined them this time? Note to self: Make her play on words a bit more obvious in the future. Well, if she ever planned another treasure hunt with Jericho. She wasn't obvious enough, but that was her fault.

"Right idea, wrong area." she grinned. "I do happen to like repetition of my methods at times." She hoped that perhaps that would be a hint that his map and certain emphasized words would be needed again. She had spent a lot of time on it, after all.

"Oh?"

Jericho looked back at the clue carefully, then it clicked for him. Right! I1. Quickly, he checked his map to see where that point was on the grid.

From where they were, I was down and to the left. Another small jog, but it looked like Amity Park - namely the main stretch where some individuals felt it proper to drive cars, but also the entry to the public pool and a few stands to buy food from if you were out with the little Scarelings.

But it was plain that there probably would be a Stop sign on that stretch of road as well.

Once Jericho had the coordinates down, he grinned to Shehk then started to jog over to where it was located. When they came closer, he noticed the stop sign along the way, and there he paused to check to see if there was anything about it that stood out.

Unless the stop sign itself was a key.

Hmmm.

Shehk - eternally marching, always with enough energy to follow - jogged after the dragon, only going off course in following him once to chase a squirrel. She couldn't help it. They were so..... twitchy. She'd gotten it up a tree and barked for a while before she actually got herself back and went to find Jericho and the stop sign.

Fortunately, the stop sign did have what Jericho wanted - the Key. Unfortunately, the holes in the pole of the sign allowed Shehk to feed a lock through both the pole and the key itself, locking them together.

But there was a note attached to the lock as well.

I can't let you get everything without a little bit of resistance! You have two numbers so far - 4, and 1. You need two more!

So I pose you these two questions: How many shinies were in the short films we watched? I know you paid attention!

What clue are you on?

There were only 6 numbers on the dial to choose from, so assuming that everything was in order....

When Shehk had bolted off to chase a squirrel, Jericho paused to see what was going on. He couldn't help but feel a little amused to see her do that. But the moment was brief and they were soon on their way to the stop sign, where to his dismay had the key in a lock. But there was another clue! Reading it over, it took him just a moment to figure out the other two numbers.

With a wide grin, he inputted 2 and 5 into the combination.

She couldn't help the squirrel chasing. It was her thing. Hell, she'd probably end up going on a wild squirrel chase with a lot of the canine students at some point in time too.

However, she watched Jericho as he fussed with the lock, grinning over his shoulder as the lock popped open - even as he caught her little trick in there too. Still, the lock reneged the key to him, while Shehk reclaimed her lock, clicking it shut and shoving it in her pocket.

"Now all you need to do is go claim your treasure." she grinned - and from the look on her face, she knew it was a good one, too.

The spot on the map that was marked with the red X would prove to be an area not too far away from where the key was either, another section of the park where sometimes people would camp out and set fires in the fire-pits to do some outdoor activities, roast a few things, etc.

In fact, out of the four fire pits, one of them actually would have a small box - carved and polished wood - in it.

Grasping the key, Jericho grinned and nodded to Shehk. He quickly looked back to the map to see where the hidden treasure would be located. It actually wasn't too far off. Quickly, he made his way over, taking a look at the area in general. There were a number of fire pits around. Moving around them, he tried to find if there was anything around that might be his prize. After a little while of searching, he spotted the small box inside one of them.

Eagerly, he picked it up and looked it over. He then went on to try and open it up.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 25, 2012 11:15 am

It had seemed fitting to hide something in the fire pits as far as Shehk was concerned - at least given what it actually was and all. Or perhaps it was just another one of those choices she'd made given who she had set everything up for.

Still, the pricolici sat on the edge of one oft he fire pits, watching Jericho as he moved between them looking to see if he could find what it was she had left - and as expected, his treasure-senses were tingling. At least, she expected that he had treasure senses to some extent.

The lock on the box was simple, as Shehk had no more tricks hidden up her sleeve with it. Three pauses in the trek had been plenty and she'd at least put up a bit of resistance to things. She felt good about it. Maybe next time she'd make it longer, but still: Not at the end. When the key turned, the lid popped slightly and inside, well.

He'd seen it earlier and commented on it - and perhaps now why Shehk had grinned all knowingly about it. Suspended in Amber, framed in gold and suspended on a chain - it was the same 'artifact' from the third short film they had watched. The pricolici just grinned from where she was sitting, as though the watching of the films at all had been a way to hint to him about what it was she had planned.

Even if it had them running all over the place.

Turning the key, Jericho slowly opened the box, eager to see what was inside. What he saw surprised him. Having seen it on screen not too long ago, he knew exactly what it was. And quite frankly, it kind of stunned him. His jaw dropped slightly for the moment before he looked up towards Shehk with a somewhat dazed look. It seemed right now, he was at a bit of a loss for what to say because he was looking between her and the shiny trinket.

"This is... the dragon claw! Where did you.. how... what..." he started to say when words sort of made their way to his mouth. But he was still having some trouble formulating everything. Until finally...

"Thank you.." he managed with a big smile.

Shehk just kept grinning as he seemed to be trying to figure out what exactly he was to say to what she'd gotten for him. In fact, the fact he couldn't figure out what to say just made her wag her tail, leaning over to rest her chin in her palms thoughtfully.

"I've been told I have a way of saying the right thing to people." she said thoughtfully in answer to the question he had half-formulated, recalling the response to her Student Council speech - and the practice of it to Sammy while she was on the train home from Shady Hollow.

"You're welcome." she added.

Jericho could only imagine that Shehk went through a fair amount of trouble to get this item. And he was rather grateful for it. Still smiling, he looked down at the object and picked it up, taking a few moments to examine it. Yes, this was indeed a very good piece of treasure.

When he was done looking it over in the meantime, he carefully set it back into the box and moved on over towards the Pricolici to give her a hug.

The item in question had been on the promotional flier she'd received in the mail about the short film-fest thing they'd gone to, which had been what had spurred her to go to it as well. It had been a long and complicated thought process. Not sleeping gave her extra time to plan.

Either way, it seemed he was enjoying his new shiny.

Still, Shehk rose up from her seat to hug the dragon back, tail wagging.

The hug lingered for just a moment, then Jericho took a step back.

"Oh yeah. Thanks.. in general for setting up today. I hadn't had this much fun in awhile," he said.

It was a needed and welcome distraction from all the chaos to say in the very least.
