On the bright side, at least now the she-wolf's anger had been redirected from him to these hunters. That was always a good thing. Still, he'd much rather getting the tar beaten out of him, than the alternative.

"They probably don't have much to lose." He chipped in along with the she-wolf, still struggling the best he can without them knowing. Lot of good it did, the binds weren't budging.

Arel did not look as though he recognized them, which just made Ren's heart sink more, even with Tybalt's protests, the way that he was determined to make them see that he was there, that they were all there, that they were still alive -

BANG.

The whole cave shook. Ren felt his head ringing with the reverberation, and he leaned back against the other three, curling his wings as tightly against his back as he could so that he could feel the others. He leaned his head against Jove's, his hand clenching LW's so tightly that his knuckles were white. Fighting against the strong urge to close his eyes, Ren kept them open, desperate for some sort of indication as to what was going on.

The noise around them was chaotic - he could feel the ground trembling, shaking up through his body and trembling in his very veins. And then -

"HUNTERS SOUND THE ALARM!"

Dread seeped into his heart - an icy cold sensation that shivered up and down his spine in a completely unpleasant and terrifying fashion.

No hunters. Not here. Not now.

But there was no escaping it - especially not when he could see the unfamiliar, human form of a figure stepping towards them, his hair a brilliant shade of bright red. It almost reminded Ren of LW's hair, but this man's was an orangeish red, rather than a scarlet red like the shewolf's. But the strange thing about this man - no, this hunter was that he did not have the same sort of dark hatred in his eyes as the hunters that Ren had known. In fact, as he leaned back in his chair, he seemed almost...disappointed at something? Unless it was all just an act - Ren did not know who he was, nor did he understand anything that was going on.

This is just a dream. It's just a dream, isn't it? This is the trials. Who is this "Ben?" What do they want with us?

Please don't let anything happen to us.

Ren drew his knees up towards his chest, inching away from this "Ben" as far as he could go without actually seeming afraid. His heart was pounding loudly in his chest, so loud that he was quite certain that everyone around him could hear it, but he kept his expression calm, his lips pressed together and his eyes narrowed in fierce determination at the hunters that surrounded them.

But then "Ben" was gone - he and the ponytailed one, and they were left with the two who did not seem nearly as calm as the redhead had. Ren let out a feral snarl, snapping his teeth together, grinding his foot into the ground as the pair leaned closer, the object in their hand letting out a not-so-encouraging thrum.

Ren struggled even harder with the ropes around his wrists, his wings starting to flap, and then -

He was free. He'd gotten them off. Ren's wings burst outwards, sending feathers flying, and he stumbled away from the ropes, gasping for breath and feeling as though his head might explode from the dizziness. He had to get out, he had to find them a way out -

But he couldn't leave them. He couldn't just walk away without them.

His heart clattered noisily in his chest.

He had somehow gotten outside and he did not know how. He had just started moving blindly, but he had not wanted to leave behind LW, Ren, and Jove.

How did I get here?

Desperately Ren spun around, his eyes wide, feathers from his wings fluttering uselessly to the ground, his tail flicking behind him like a snake. He spun around in a circle, trying to discern where exactly he was, searching for some sign of red hair - of LW's hair, the scent of vanilla anywhere - a flash of pale blue, Jove's freckles, a streak of black for that damned black dog -

But there was nothing. Nothing but fog, all around him.

Ren lifted his hands, his fingers clenching in his hair as a horrible panic filled every cell in his body, choking his throat, seizing his mind. It was too much like the island event, too much like that time - but that time he had been the first to die, in front of Alessa and Gabrian and LW.

Thinking about Alessa and Gabrian hurt. His heart ached.

LW. Jove. Tybalt. Where are you?

He didn't care that he and Tybalt had what most would deem a rocky relationship. He didn't care that most of the time they spent together was through bickering and squabbling, and that ninety percent of the time they were at each other's throats. He did not hate Tybalt, and right now all Ren wanted to do was to see him and to see LW and to see Jove and make sure they were all right.

This is just a dream. Tell me this is just a dream. It's just another trial. Just another trial. They're not dead, they can't be dead, not now -

Ren spun around again, closing his eyes and inhaling deeply. One ear flicked sideways.

But there was nothing.

Nothing except for silence and fog.

The sight of the hunters momentarily left Jove speechless. Or at least, actionless. This really was a nightmare, with the school destroyed, the forest hardly more than a wasteland, that awful fog covering everything... And it was all because of those hunters! Why were they so determined to destroy everything? Didn't they see what they were doing?

A growl rose in his throat, and he pulled against his bindings. There was no way he was going to be caught by them again. He had to get out.

Somehow, Ren had managed to escape his binds and from what he could tell, escape before they could lay a hand on him. That was good. At least one of them made it out of here and even if he couldn't stand Ren at times---most of the times, it was a small victory over the hunters and he was enjoying it quite a bit.

Still, he would love to get him and the other two out as well, but despite feeling his own binds loosening, they were still firmly wrapped around enough that he couldn't free himself.

A few minutes had passed and the black dog was still trying to free himself. Though instead of insults, he settled for silent a glaring contest with the hunters. At least that made him feel a little better?

Luckily for him, the staring contest was short lived, when all of a sudden, the bindings uncoiled. At first, all the black dog could do was sit there with a dumb expression on his face, until it dawned on him that he could actually try and make a run for it. But... what about LW and Jove? How could he possibly leave them behind..? What could he do? His options were so limited... He couldn't fight them off. Two against one, the results of that were pretty self explanatory. So what else could he do?

Gulping, he had just one idea.

Jumping to his feet, he lunged for one of the two hunters with a snarl, giving them a rough shove to knock them off their feet before he darted towards the exit. In hopes, that maybe, it was enough to draw their attention away from the other two.

"Hah! I knew you lazy bastards were all talk!" He taunted as he ran.

She kept struggling, feeling pain where the rope was starting to irritate her skin. But it was nothing to the pain she knew They would deal out. Jackdamnit she had to get free! Had to find a way to help the others-

LW felt Ren escape, wings brushing against the top of her head. She twisted enough to see that...yes. Yes! He was free! At least one of them was now. That...that would be good enough, right? I love you, Ren. She silently shouted, a very small hint of a smile stretching her lips before a feral look crossed her features. Her eyes narrowed as she kept an eye on the hunters. Ren may have escaped, but Tybalt and Jove were still here...

The sudden lack of a body to her other side made her falter in her attempts to get free. The black dog had done it! KICK THEIR HUNTER a**! Skulls, she needed to get out of here! But...she couldn't leave the pup...or Tybalt if he went after the Hunters....

Come on! I can do this. She hoped anyways.

The longer she had to remain bound as she was, the more it started to chip away at the anger and hotblooded feeling she felt. It was the only thing keeping her from falling into a full blown terror where she'd be unable to do much more than stare, providing an easy target. She had some hope still, as the ropes did seem to be loosening more. Just...slowly.

Wriggle wriggle wriggle. Nope, she was still stuck. But she could move her arms just a little more. A good sign, hopefully. Except each 'wriggle' took a piece of whatever courage/anger/I WILL KILL YOU feeling she had.

Tybalt was probably running the fastest he had in his entire life. Even when he finally made it out, he was still running and continued running until he collided with something solid, but movable. Resulting in him getting knocked back onto the ground.

"Ow s**t, damn!" He cursed, hissing out a pained breath and rubbing his head.

Thanks to the fog, he couldn't see squat, so the fact that he ran into something wasn't all that surprising. Though what he ran into, he'd very much like to know.

"R-Ren?" He called quietly, squinting his eyes a little to see past the fog. Not very loudly mind. He didn't want to alert any unwanted attention from possible hunters in the area after all. Yet, he still held a little bit of hope that it was the gryphon and not in fact the very hunters he had been running from, or one of their comrades.

"Ren if that's you---I'd really like to know." Okay, so he was starting to sound both a little panicked and desperate.

She kept going back and forth between wiggling a little here and there. Pressing her back against Jove to make sure the pup was still alright. And glaring daggers at Them.

Okay, her courage was starting to go downhill. And the panic was rising again. Her heart beat rapidly and she so very much wanted to have mobility of her freaking limbs! Please, Jack! Get me out of here! A soft and not so confident whine escaped as she tugged at her arms, ignoring the pain from the ropes.

Wriggle wriggle wriggle.

Pause.

Glare.

Growl.

Tug at ropes.

Back to the wriggling and attempting to twist a little. The ropes were definitely getting looser. Looser....BINGO! LW felt the ropes fall around her and she was up and moving. But there was hesitation in her.

Jackdamnit! I can't leave the pup! Skullssss what did she do?! Run. You have to run...

[FRIED WOLF LEGS or SPUTTERING INCOHERENT SHE-WOLF?!

Tune in to find out~ ]

She couldn't do it. Couldn't just run and leave. It went against the very creature she was. A female werewolf. And Jove was a pup in her pack. Feral instinct wouldn't allow her to leave him. And that's what took over. The feral side of the she-wolf as she spun around lunging at one of the two hunters. She would rip their throats out! Protect the one she considered like a younger brother as well. She would protect her pack, Jackdamnit!

LW didn't hear it or really feel it. There was that low hum that caught her attention. An icy burning feeling like her blood was boiling. She wasn't sure if her nails connected with the Hunter or not. Or if she cried out in pain. Or a howl of fury. There was just the overwhelming pain. The same in a sense as all the other times she'd felt such intensity frying her nerves for that split second that felt like an eternity.

And in the eternity she had a moment of peace. She'd done her best to protect her pack. To be a good and strong werewolf. It was comforting, to a degree, knowing that Ren and Tybalt had made it out. Hopefully they didn't bicker too much.

Ren. Forgive me. I love you, dear heart.

With the last small bit of life left in her in, LW made a small request of whatever divine creature watched over them. She wasn't sure if it was Skellington Jack himself or not. But hopefully, they would listen to her small request? Please give Jove the luck and strength to escape? She paused. And make sure Ren doesn't kill Tybalt.

Forgive me, boils.

A smile graced her lips, face relaxing as a tear slid down her face. And then that peaceful black oblivion finally took her and ended the pain. It all only lasted a few seconds at most.
