Rock Climbing
Last chance. Being bested by his first two challenges had given West an inflated desire to do well this time, even though it didn't seem like it was going to be possible for him to fulfill this want.
Emae tapped him on the shoulder and pointed at the cliff West had been told to climb. The whole thing probably wouldn't have been so daunting if it hadn't also been shitting down hail.
"Let's go," he said to no one in particular. Once he had reached the rocks, the lepus climbed out of his pack and began climbing as well, her little green paws making dainty dents in the snow.

The day was full of cold falling from the sky; reminded her of her first day at the Trials of War. The pellets of ice seen from the window of her dorm told the tatzel that a cloak would be good for this trial; she was right. A cloak, some fuzzy coverings for her boots, and some eye protection she'd randomly acquired was what she wore to shield her from the conditions in weather today. Looking over her choices, Levi felt like she should try something a bit more out in the open considering her last two had been within caves of sorts. It was the races for her. Arriving at the starting point, she saw the shed and took to selecting her trust steed. A bird? no... A wolf? maybe... but oh- what was THIS? Coming across the dragon hatchling caused Levi's tail to curl happily and smile from ear to ear. Like she would approach kin, Levi began introducing herself. Aye thar, cousin! Name's Levi. 'ppreciate yer help on'this one. Wanna do this race together? They were practically kin, right? She liked to think so as she moved a hand towards its nose. Apparently she didn't smell to its liking as the dragon sneezed uncomfortably right in Levi's face. ... The tatzel wipes off the snot with her furry cloak. Ya'll need some hot stew 'in this 'ere weather, eh? Tell ya what- if I see ya 'gain after this race, I'll bring ya back some. She had herself a mount. Savage Exam 2.0 Ice Road Runner
Something was up with Bul. Something really.. abnormal and out of the ordinary for sure. Knowing today was the last chance they had at proving themselves, and knowing that they would certainly not, Bul decided that the more important outcome of these tests should be educational. So far Amityville looked like a poop stain in the underwear of Halloween... so why look like an idiot trying to clean it up?
Naw, Bul didn't feel entirely disheartened. That just wasn't in the boil's nature to just "OH WELL, I GIVE". Instead, the attention given to impressing these figureheads who were no doubt getting their jollies watching them struggle like bafoons...
...would be replaced with the determination to heal an old wound. So what did the half beast chose for his obstacle course? Perhaps the absolute worst possible choice for a cold blooded creature. On his way to the Ice Runner the lepus guide grew nervous and distraught.
"Did you know, cold blooded creatures become sluggish if their temperatures drop too low?"
Well duh, Bul thought, his tail flicked in annoyance. He said nothing to the minipet though. This was a personal battle he had to overcome. It was literally (no... REALLY) his second chance at Savage's exam. This time there would be no falling through the ice on a sled before he could even start. As the hail pounded him from above, Bul reached for his skullpin but resisted. Time to see what he was really made of.

It was brutal and cold. Bul was not meant for this weather or this course really. The sheer determination to at least see himself farther than his exam though had WORKED. He was already farther along and not laying in a snowbank full of his blood. YAY. Yet.
"Did you know, some animals like the grasshopper will become so cold that they cannot move until the sun warms them back up?"
Bul sighed and pressed on-

Savage Exam 2.0 Ice Road Runner
The strong wind gushed in the half beast's face and threw him backwards after another slip on the ice. Bul was ready to cry, the cold was so unbearable. But how was he ever supposed to become a stronger monster and face just a little bit of cold? Oh he really wished his fear was of any use in this situation.
To wake up after passing out in a snowbank wrapped in a blanket in Mei's lap? Jack he desperately wanted this. The boil knelt on the ice, taking a cold, shivering breath before looking back up to the course ahead of him. He had so much further to go and already he'd only made backwards progression.
"Did you know, a dog cannot make this journey alone but maybe a wolf can?"
"THAT'S NICE BUT I'M NOT A JACK DAMNED- never ******** mind," Bul hissed bitterly.

Savage Exam 2.0 Ice Road Runner
Perhaps in the mixed genealogy of monsters that Bul came from SOMEONE had part wolf in them. He definitely didn't believe it but it was enough of a thought to help him make it through the patches of ice into a cave where the wind had reached a lull. Bul took advantage of this moment to cling to the flag he'd gotten and lean against the wall of ice. The hail was making this twice as hard as it should be.
"Did you know, hail can reach the size of your snot ball?"
"How did you even know about my snotball anyway?" Bul asked weakly. "...wait.."
Squinting his eyes, Bul looked ahead of him and pretended that the falling hail outside the cave was just snotballs raining from the sky. And at the end of the course? His mama waiting with some of that wonderful soup that had given him an edge during the Xmas invasion. Mei was there too talking with his dad as they waved and cheered him on.
A small tear ran down the cheeks of audience members as the universe prepared to unleash its horrific wrath on the monster aw yea.

Savage Exam 2.0 Ice Road Runner
Together the cold and ice overcame Bul. As he reached the patches of ice shards just outside the cave, he met his match in the form of a massive ice crystal that came clean through him and dissipated him back to the infirmary tent.
When he would awake, Bul was clinging relentlessly to the flag he'd obtained with a weak, pleasant look on his face.

Rock Climbing
First flag in hand, West began to get reckless, climbing more quickly than it seemed he should have been able to in this driving storm. Emae remained in the lead. Perhaps that was why the demon was trying so hard.
The rumble of rocks breaking free above him didn't really register until one fell past. Thankfully, none of them hit the boil and he grabbed a second flag on this way to SWEET VICTORY.

The freezing temperatures at this height were starting to take their toll. West stuck his hand directly into the nest of some form of bird-dragon things and might have fallen to his dissipationy end if it hadn't been for his unconscious "punch first" reflex. His hands were bloody by the time he was done, but he hadn't fallen.

Rock Climbing
West knew he must have been close to the top. He couldn't see anything more than a few feet ahead or behind him in this weather, but he had been climbing for so long that he couldn't imagine he had much longer to go. On his way past a narrow ledge he stopped. Emae sat in front of him, her expression stoic. He supposed he could take a break.
It really was nice to not be climbing anymore, but West honestly had no idea how he was going to start up again now that he was here. And then the decision was taken right out of his hands. The ledge cracked under the weight of demon and lepus, and West grabbed at Emae as his wings appeared with a pop.

He grabbed for the ledge, but the wind chose to pick up just then, slamming West into what was left of the crumbling cliff. His wings winked back out of existence as he was knocked unconscious, and he fell to the ground, dissipating on impact.

Or not; the hatchling really wasn't looking too good. Frowning, Levi contemplated getting off. Aye, fellar? ... yew alright? No- she had to get going. As harsh as it was, weather and all, this was a challenge. The dragon would understand her position, she reasoned.
C'mon now- we're tougher than that! The creature SCREEEEed again but grudgingly took to the course.
