Nuru didn't look like he was learning his lesson at all. Pushing his large wolf harder and harder almost beyond their breaking point. An effort that only succeeds in exhausting his mount further and further.

Finally Nuru came up on his first flag and snatched it victoriously. He clearly wasn't the only one proud of their efforts as the large wolf seemed rather chuffed as well.

OPEN RACE COURSE
So soon after the first that Nuru had spotted another flag. Tugging sharply on the large wolfs reigns he steered the creature over terrain that likely hurt their paws. He grabbed the flag but the mount didn't seem interested this time.

Coming up on another ravine now Nuru pushed the large wolf ever harder again. It's paws still stinging from rough terrain. It was starting to lose faith in it's rider unbeknownst to Nuru.

Nuru started to hear the whining again as the large wolfs pain went unheeded. Nuru looked at them, not at all understanding why they were making the sound again, this time more incessantly.

OPEN RACE COURSE
Ignoring the large wolfs pain, riding them harder and harder and unaware it's faith in him waned... Nuru was doomed the very moment he decided to ride the large wolf over a massive leap over two hoops. Charging full force towards the edge... the wolf slammed on it's breaks sending Nuru soaring over the jump all by himself. It was a miracle he landed as safely as he had. Though now he had been tossed from his mount and the race was over.
dusting himself off as he limped off the course, his pride wounded beyond repair for this evening.
4: Your mount has to make a really long jump over two hoops: it barely makes it, but it is super tired now. -2 compatibility points.

Snow Dash!
Fog.
She was in the fog again.
Mr. Monty remained unusually quiet as the witch mechanically walked onto the course, expression glassy and vacant. He startled and scampered as the ice began to crack, but Emily paid no head to anything even as the ice cracked alarmingly behind her. There was no relief as she reached solid ground on time. There was very simply...nothing.
Fortunately the familiar remembered to snatch the flag for the team, and he quickly followed behind her on the way to the next point, expression shifting between irritation and worry.

Snow Dash!
The small witch drudged through the deep, slush-like snow, her nose and cheeks turning rosy with chill as the wet water seeped into her shoes and clothes. Mr. Monty cursed softly around the flag in his mouth and leapt onto the ghoul's shoulder. His paws were feeling all kinds of soggy and frozen and jackdamnit she was passing the flag by again!
He jumped back down into the wet, cold snow and grabbed the second flag, doing his best to carry both in his mouth.
They better ******** appreciate this.

The tiny witch crossed the finish line, paying no attention to the rumbling of the ground behind her, the massive wave of snow crashing across the course, or her familiar's cries of alarm. Which was a damn shame since Mr. Monty showed those watching a fine exhibition of kitty gymnastics, even managing to grab one last flag with his tail before racing to the finish.
Spitting the flags out, he opened his mouth to berate her but...
Emily just stared impassively off into the distance.
It didn't matter.
She wasn't there anymore.
She wasn't anywhere.

The Cave of FIAH
"Did you know, fire is hotter than you?" Was that a ******** challenge? JD felt it was. He made his way to the course in question and promptly peeled off his leather boots, setting them down a safe distance from the heated ground.
And then he ran. Like a Kenyan. His soles hurt, but he felt like a total badass.

Herryk wasn't really having much luck today. The vines tangled around his ankles and calves. Thankfully he was able to pull himself back onto the pier. Brushing himself off, he prepared to take another go at it.

Herryk's second try went much better than his first. As he did an epic swan dive into the water, he snagged a flag after he broke the surface of the lake. He swam deeper, familiar enough with the course to know what he needed to do.
