"My parents raised me, I escaped and was a drifter till Batman technically adopted me."
She said as they walked. Further down the road she saw the MGM grand hotel. Big, in the center and high up. Looked perfect. Kai pointed at the MGM.
"Staying there, upper level room out of the way."

"Wait, those two punks who captured us really WERE your parents?! Boy am I glad you're stayin' with Batman!" Dundee said, almost saying Bruce, but switching out at the last minute. After all, just because Arell, himself and C.J. didn't have alternate identities to go behind, didn't mean others were so lucky.
"The MGM grand? Sounds good, hon. Say, how hungry are you?" Dundee asked.
Meanwhile, Arell was still at the table, his gambling really kicking in as he was getting enough cash to cover their trip home.

"Not, but am. I feel like I need a bunch of sushi, but I don't think now is the time. And yes, they were my parents. They were good to me till they discovered I was a Meta-human. They made my life miserable, and I had to escape. It nearly killed me on the escape, and I fought to stay away for a long time. It wasn't until a few years before I met Batman that they had let up."
Kai felt a tug on her cape and she turned to see a guy.
"You know Batman. I'm from Gotham on vacation, can I get your autograph for my boy? You're Robin right? Batman saved my boy, stopped his school from being blown up."
Kai blushed looking at the guy and ran a hand through her hair.
"Not Robin, Red Cardinal and I don't do autographs really. I just help Batman do the right thing, that's all."
The man turned to tell everyone in the crowd and raised his hand.
"Everyone! We got ourselves a hero here, it's a sidekick of the Justice league they will fix our world."
"Sorry sir but we have places we need to be. Dundee, it's time to run."
She grabbed Dundee's shirt and started making her way through the crowd.
"WAIT, Tell the people how your heroes will fix this mess! "
"MY WIFE IS NOT IN THIS WORLD. "
"We need to know what's happening!"
It seemed as though many people joined into the rally of those normal people who were affected by the world merge. For them, not knowing anything and trying to find others would be so much harder. But seeing as everyone had a situation there was no reason getting stuck and eventually found by I.O. if they bothered to go to Vegas and find them.

Dundee grabbed Kai's arm and smiled at the crowd. "We need to go think this over. Like NOW!" Dundee said as he broke through the crowd with Kai as they started running towards the hotel.
"Let's go out for Sushi after this is done. My treat!" Dundee offered as they ran. Boy this had turned out to be the mother of all interesting days . . . and it wasn't even over yet!

"I wonder if they'd been more furious if I told them I WAS a Justice League member."
She said as they ran to the hotel. Hopefully they could get some clothes before they ended up there. It would be the best option. And they ran past an expensive clothing store in a small strip mall. There was the sky walk above now and she grabbed Dundee pulling out a grapnel hook skipping the stairs as they swung to the upper level.
"Ally oop! I gotta get changed Dundee before these people find us again."
They landed on the upper level, people giving them strange glances as upset pedestrians looked up from down below, just a few still determined running to find some stairs.
"Sorry about not warning you before we did that. That store-"
Kai ran for the store on her way there taking off her cape over her head removing most of what was striking about her red costume. She hoped that Dundee would follow her at least and they could get out of the way. Luckily the stores were open late enough in this city for them to get some good cover.

Dundee smirked. "With how you handle yourself in comparison to the big a*****e I deal with, somehow I ain't surprised you are. Really cool though!" he said as they ran. He instinctively held on to Kai when she grabbed him. He hated heights, so he closed his eyes . . . then again, only one of the Swamp gang had no problem with heights, and that's 'cause Arell stole a freakin' helicopter.
"HE DID WHAT?!?"
Don't you remember? 'Bout 2-3 years ago when we started Gaia? Arell borrowed it? Back when he was still smoking cigarettes and was a badass? Well, not because he smoked, but was willing to wreck s**t up without even a second glance. Anti-hero s**t, y'know?
"Oh yeah! Man, I wish the IO guys tried to capture him THEN! That woulda been fun to watch!"
Agreed. Now let's get back on topic.
"Roger. Hey, I gotta go back to Gotham and Pirates of Viridia. Later!"
Later!
Anyways they landed as Dundee looked down at the crowd.
"Oh, I don't blame you! I just hope we can get some distance between us and them, sugar!" Dundee said as they bolted for the store. Of course, he didn't notice his little slip of the tongue. Of course, if it wasn't obvious that Dundee had a crush, then he needs to put it up on a freaking billboard and get it over with!
Meanwhile, Arell was handling himself quite well in the casino, his poker playing was doing a little better than his luck with love or bounty hunting. Which reminded him, he needed to call Crystal later, to let him know he was okay.

Kai entered the store with Dundee and quickly went to different clothing racks in the smaller high end clothing store and grabbed several things. And then went directly into the dressing room without trouble by any of the store clerks. She pulled most of her costume off that wouldn't interfere with the clothing and put on a black vest, a white dress shirt that buttoned up in the front. and black slacks. A bag that she had grabbed inside is where she put her cape and belt. Kai ran her hands over the tips of her hair changing the ends from red to black and pulled her hair back into a nice ponytail smoothing out the roughness her un-brushed hair had. A pair of reading glasses and walking out of that dressing room Dundee would hardly tell she was the same person. she walked up to the cashier with the tags of the items in hand and the Batcard to pay for them.

Dundee rushed into another. He later came out wearing shorts and a T-shirt . . . one could hardly recognize him unless they looked up close. He kinda looked like a surfer. He looked around looking for Kai when he realized . . . she was kinda missing (in his mind) . . . so he went up and paid for the shorts and T-shirt. Not that anyone would care that it was him, but hey, this covert stuff was fun!

Kai waited for Dundee near the front and after he had paid for his clothes she grabbed the sleeve of his shirt, knowing the guy and learning to pay attention to looks helping a bit.
"Maybe... we should go get a hotel room before Arell gambles all his money away eh."
Kai was not trying to look it in the least, but she had actually become extremely tired after all that they had gone through. Her wrist causing her a lot of pain still. It's healing was draining her completely. She was about to insert a witty comment about the wit's brother looking like a surfer but felt too tired and out of it to do so. With her exhaustion she didn't have the energy to muster up enough enthusiasm or humor to get a joke if she made one. Something to Dundee's disguise didn't look good enough to Kai. She blinked and then held her good hand up to his hair ruffing it up a bit. Her aura changing the tips of his hair to a frosted blonde. He probably wouldn't notice if only assume she was just messing his hair up a bit.
"And you may need a shower Dundee... scratch that, you and Arell both need to shower. And you both need clean clothes. Desert sand can cause heat stroke or infection if you don't clean it off etc..."
That and sometimes a girl likes touching a guys hair without it being greasy or full of hair gel. But that's just Red Cardinal's few on the matter.

Dundee smiled a bit. "Sounds good to me, hon. Speaking of which . . ." he said, pointing his thumb over to . . . of all people, Arell was walking up the street, a big s**t-eating grin on his face, and what looked like a roll of cash as big as a hay bale in his back pocket.
"Yeah, that'd be nice. Good shower, a little rest. Hey, once we get back, mind if we talk later?" he asked, a little sincerity in his voice just before Arell showed up.
"Hey, uh . . . y'all se- Dun'? When'd you go all . . . Cal'forny Surfah boy on me?!" Arell asked, scritchin' his head.

"Talk?"
She said a little more quietly after Arell reached them. Then she nodded and looked to Arell.
"Yeah... There are some angry people about this universe situation who picked me out of the bunch. So I had to change my look."
Kai wasn't too sure how the group would see her now that she was in a more formal business-esk looking attire. Although, it was something she was used to putting on when she would go with Bruce to work or a black tie event. She would probably have Dundee and Arell dress the same way but they probably wouldn't agree to getting fitted tuxes even with the Batcard and Bruce's salary.

Dundee nodded, his face a little red, but not enough to catch Arell's attention . . . or did it? Either way he didn't show it . . . THEN.
"Sounds fair 'nuff. Hey, look what I won!" Arell said and pulled out the big wad of cash. "Oughta be 'nuff for a hotel room, don'tcha think?" he asked as Dundee laughed.
"Bo-dacious, man!" Dundee said, slipping into his "Surfer" role.

Kai sighed and then facepalmed. A surfer, really? She thought to herself. It could be worse, he could be pretending to be a caju-... actually, he could be pretending to be a, after thinking about it, there was nothing she disliked more than people who do dangerous things for no reason and surfing is one of those dangerous hobbies. That and she really hated being on open water.
"Okay, maybe we should have matched each other... We all need separate rooms anyway. It's worked for my friend and I in the past. Just make sure we keep anything that identifies us as heroes, or gunslingers out of the maids reach."

"No problem, che'! I learn'd a few tricks 'bout dat anyhow." Arell said quietly . . . well if Kai disliked people who did "dangerous" things for fun in open water, she really shouldn't go with those guys to the beach!
"Hey, it's all in fun, Kai. Live a little!" Dundee said as Arell smirked. They had to get back to the hotel, but that big roll of bucks wasn't the ONLY think Arell won.

"I actually lost a friend when I was, um... really young, in open water. I don't trust water, for several different reasons. Fire, is much safer than being trapped in open water in my opinion. And I'm not just saying that because I have Kevlar and fire proof costumes."
She pointed out as she started to head down the upper level of the strip towards the MGM grand hotel.
"And, I have lived it up a lot. What's really fun is swinging and soaring through Gotham Sky Rises."
