And that was exactly the tone necessary to return at least a degree of resolve to Luke's disposition, drawing his expression upwards with a pointed glare, "She already knows that. Don't be such a jerk." Knowing Rosie, she really did care how Asch was feeling, and the fact that his brother would simply discard that sincerity did nothing less than piss Luke off.

Asch immediately turned a glare on Luke. "Bold words coming from someone who's hiding behind his friends." Damn coward. Was all that talk earlier back in the cavern really just a bunch of nothing? Hmph.

No.. he didn't believe that Rosie -really- cared anything about him except for the fact that he had Vahy'n. He was just a criminal in her eyes, which would be perfectly normal, because he was.

"You're here to decide what to do with me, aren't you?"

She wasn't sure why he thought she was pretending, did she sound fake? Goodness she hoped not!

Rosie blinked letting a long pause linger before she opened her mouth to answer, only to find that Luke was giving the answer for her.
She was grateful for it, she wasn't sure how easily she would be able to say it herself.
Glancing away from Asch, to tilt her her eyes toward Luke after he spoke, just for a couple of seconds before she turned back to Asch as his retort.

"He doesn't hide behind us." she said quickly at Asch's words, though her tone didn't sound angry, it was as if she was explaining something important. "We stand with each other, all of us."

There was another pause at Asch's last comment, giving herself a moment to glance at Guy and Luke before addressing Asch again, "Eventually... Yes, but right now, we're just here to talk."

Asch's words stung more harshly than the bound arm that sought to form a fist in response. He wasn't hiding. He wasn't a damn coward - even though he felt more and more unsure as the days passed. But then where were the words for a retort? He could say nothing to counter... but Rosie could. The firm explanation and unintentional reminder revived the knowledge that he wasn't facing the situation alone; rather than deferring the decision to his friends, he would talk with them and decide with them. There he was, forgetting simple truths again. The reminder allowed him to stand a little taller, to turn a more level gaze on his brother, to stand with his friends instead of behind them. He allowed his shift in demeanor to serve as his retort.

The first words out of the injured man's mouth just reaffirmed to Guy why he disliked Asch so much: he was just cruel. That's all that there was to him. Now reassured of his feelings for the time being, Guy felt more confident and ready to find out whatever he could about Asch's designs. His eyes narrowed as Asch spoke harshly to Miss Rosie and was about to retaliate when Luke beat him to the punch.

Asch's next response just proved to make Guy angrier. He rolled his eyes and glanced away from the bed, muttering quietly under his breath. "At least he has friends..." His hushed statement was dark, but some part of Guy felt like any person who would try to get close to Asch would only end up being pushed away somehow. In a way, he knew that from experience.

Out of the corner of his vision, Guy could see Luke's reaction to Asch's biting comment, and the fury in him rose. Silently, Guy made his way over to Luke's side and put a reassuring hand on his young friend's shoulder. He turned his glaring eyes back on Asch. "He's not hiding," he said levelly, glancing over to Miss Rosie as he agreed with her words. "None of us are."

Ugh, their words made him want to throw up. He pretended not to hear Guy's muttered words, and that it didn't bother him. But they were in severe denial.. or just stupid, because Luke was obviously hiding. Annoyed, he ignored the both of them and instead focused his attention on his brother. The one who had indeed come to his aid, and was now suddenly cowering in the background.

"Can't even stick up for yourself? Your friends have to do that too? Disgusting," Asch continued in the verbal assault of his twin. It angered him to see him acting this way, especially with everything he had said before.

Despite being in a compromising situation, he had no intent to plead for their mercy. To not send him to jail or whatever. No, he had far too much pride for that. He would be who he was until the bitter end. He didn't care if they hated him, he had expected as much to begin with. They were acting exactly as predicted. It was better this way. This was how it had to be.

Rosie's smile had helped calm her nerves a bit but then the arguing started up. Natalia quite honestly didn't know what to do with herself. Here was her friends and her fiance fighting back and forth but she didn't know how to stop them. She looked from the trio to Asch and back again as they talked then gracefully rose from her seat. She gave all of them a stern look and absentmindedly placed a hand on the necklace Asch had given her.

"All of you please calm down. Luke, Guy, Rosie, Asch is still recovering and anyone would be in a bad mood after what happened, Luke knows this. Asch, Rosie is sincere and Luke isn't hiding." The noble woman hoped that her words would at least cool the simmering tempers. They hadn't started yelling yet but hopefully that would get nipped in the bud. She didn't hear Guy's words though or other wise he would have found his self lectured.

"Fine, if it bothers you so much," Luke said curtly, maneuvering to stand beside Rosie at the head of the small assembly. Had he a higher opinion of Asch, he would have suspected that his brother were goading them into taking a firmer stance. That, however, seemed highly unlikely. Far more probable was that Asch was being an inflammatory b*****d for no reason but that he was so damn good at it.

"We're not the ones that need to calm down here, Natalia," he replied when the young woman spoke, his tone indeed level. As annoyed as he was, both with Asch and with himself, the medication he'd been administered during the treatment of his arm prevented him from reaching a degree of anger that would push him to raise his voice. He wasn't going to stand there and let Natalia lecture them for defending themselves against Asch's unnecessarily cruel remarks, though.

If it bothered -him- so much? Could this idiot not think for himself? Asch huffed a long, irritated sigh, but decided to not push things any further than he already had. Despite his attitude, it was already wearing him out to argue with the dreck. Plus it seemed to be pretty pointless and a waste of effort anyway.

"Fine. What did you want to talk about?" He would humor them at the very least. Not so much for their sakes, but for Natalia's and the fact that he was curious as to what they would say.

Rosie felt no shame for the way she felt about her friends, about how she knew she could rely on them, how they could rely on her.
To her it was the most beautiful thing in the entire world, its what made them strong, its what would keep them strong through hard times like this one, and harder times in the future.
Even as Asch cut it down with cruel words, she felt no shame... only a feeling of pity for him, how could he really feel that way?

Luke stepped up next to her, and Rosie glanced over at him, lifting her own head up a little more and turned back to Natalia as she stood and spoke up.
And told them to calm down... Rosie gave the noble a puzzled look, she felt they were all being very reasonable.

"We're not trying to cause anymore trouble or discomfort... but we're in a situation that, as league trainers we need to address...." She explained to Natalia.
She held a hand up in a gentle gesture. "Asch... I remember when I first met you, we had a nice time spending the afternoon together, I find it hard to believe that this anger is really who you are." She said, "I think that you need friends just as much as we all do."
she lowered her hand,

Guy did not respond to Lady Natalia's remark. He closed his eyes and took a step backward, trying to distance himself somewhat so that he did not make any hasty statements. He knew that Asch was recovering; it was kind of obvious. That was why they had to make a decision as soon as they possibly could. While Luke moved forward to the head of the party, Guy lingered on the sidelines, watching the scene before him apprehensively.

Miss Rosie stepped forth to give her thoughts, and Guy listened politely while a voice in the back of his head wondered if she was being too sympathetic with Asch. For how much he respected Miss Rosie, Guy had his doubts as to whether or not befriending Asch was the most prudent course of action. He was a criminal, end of story; if they got too involved with him, who knew how deep they would eventually end up. As far as Guy could tell, they were in over their heads already.

Luke could only stare in reply to Rosie's words, green eyes startled from the sentiment she put forth. Sure, he knew that she had known Asch before, but he also knew just how severely Asch had betrayed the trust Rosie had put in him - and he knew Rosie knew that even better than he did. It wasn't as though he wouldn't prefer if Asch were open enough with them to be friends instead of having to fight and shout every time they met, but the idea just seemed completely impossible. Laughable even. Luke frowned silently, awaiting Asch's response.

It seemed that Rosie would be doing all the talking now. It made sense. She did have guts, Asch had to give her that much. Especially for a girl. But he still saw her as foolish and naive, although not quite as much as his twin that now stood beside her. He would let them think what they wanted about him. But the truth of the matter was...

"You don't know anything about me," he said in a seething tone.

He had to hold his tongue from going further, at risk of saying too much. Asch did have friends once. They were in that very room. If having friends meant that they abandoned you when you needed them most, then he didn't need any. Guy was a prime example of this. It didn't surprise Asch in the least that he would take Luke's side. He had expected as much, for it just proved his own view on the matter. Even though Natalia was there, things would never be the same between them. No matter how much she wished it so. That was what he believed, and he had yet to find any evidence otherwise. What he couldn't hold back was that look of bitterness in his eyes. The fact that he had been hurt, forgotten, and even betrayed by those he cared about.

His reply was short, and to the point, and it only confirmed what Rosie suspected anyway.
She let her gaze linger on him for a couple of seconds as he chose not to say anything else, her hands tightening against one another.

It hurt her to be here, to look at him, talk to him, it just brought back the last images of Vany'n that Rosie still had.
Having to push through those feelings was the hardest part, but she had to keep strong, and she had to keep a level head about this. For her friends, her friend who had a history with this man. For her friends.

"Asch, Your more transparent then you make yourself out to be." She said still in a gentle tone. "I don't think you can really mean what you said to Luke, It sounds too much like your taking something out on him, that's why your still so hostile toward him, why your hostile toward us now." she pointed out. "You sound scared. Trying to pull away from everyone, hide behind this tough guy attitude when really, we already know better, Asch."
She tilted her head, hands clasping tightly into one another. moving her eyes away from Asch to look over at Luke and Guy, though was still talking to Asch.

"After everything you did to us, after all the pain and suffering and lives Team Rocket has ruined, we're taking the time to talk to you first instead of just calling the cops, despite the choices you made. So we're not here to attack you, or hurt you, please see that."

Guy winced at Asch's words, but he kept his face turned away from the group. Asch had said that to Miss Rosie, but it somehow felt like the words were targeted at him as well. The strangest feeling of anger meshed with remorse fell over Guy's head, and he chanced a quick glance towards the injured man in the hospital bed. It was odd; even though Guy had known Asch and took care of him so long ago, it felt that now he knew next to nothing about him. He would have never guessed that the child he once knew would become this, a criminal, now injured and hospitalized, with a group of people whose trusts had been betrayed deciding whether or not to turn him over to the police.

It seemed like Miss Rosie would be the designated speaker of the party for the time-being. As she looked over to him and Luke, Guy met her gaze for a split-second, then quickly looked back down to the floor. He didn't know what to say in response. He didn't know what he wanted to happen to Asch. He didn't even know what to think of him.
