I mean, yeah, my pokemon have picked up pokeballs before, but would a wild pokemon have any interest in one? If bird pokemon did that, everyone would have a hard time catching anything." Nolan paused, a strange mental image coming up - a human-sized Servine in his clothes with all of his pokemon. He gave his real life Servine a funny look, but she was intent on the wild pokemon that had appeared. She spotted one more, a goofy looking three foot tall rock. It was a Nosepass who came from behind, from somewhere deep in the cave, and blocked any escape route in that direction. Nolan had had strange adventures on his own, but judging by Chael's weird outburst about demon Pidgey, they must happen pretty often to his fellow trainer too. Valor was still booping Tsuki and batting at his tail now, unaware of any danger. "Um, Valor? Better pay attention." Servine dashed towards the Nosepass in the rear, serpentine in her movements, and quick as greased lightning. All at once, she dived forward, catching herself on the point of her arm, and spun. The twister formed by her tail streaked with green energy, and grabbed onto the large blueish pokemon, Servine executing a Leaf Tornado for the first time. ((I told Akai that but he's checking to see if you could do that mid-battle. Ok you could handle the one you RNG'd and the Nosepass.... and Tsuki is a guy.)) Post 151 A Sandile leapt and bit the stone monster's arm. With a swing, Epsilon threw it off and lunged foward, adding a Shadow Punch to it's side. The Dwebble tried hacking at Epsilon but Argos butted in, biting and throwing the bug off. His teeth were glowing a faint blue meaning he used Ice Fang for the second time. It cringed, backing up a bit, before the Sandile used bite, knocking Argos over. Chael sighed. "Somebody must've put something in the waterhole or something." he muttered as he added "Water Gun, Pound." Argos shot water from his mouth, throwing the Sandile off. Epsilon, would whack the bug away. Pretty soon they were packing to get the heck out of there. Tsuki, turned to see the battle end. What? He had missed it! Aw, man that sucked. He hadn't had a chance to battle since before they got the badge. That was over relatively fast. And Servine got to seriously show off. Nolan had no idea she could even do a Leaf Tornado, and she had finished off the Nosepass with a spinning Vine Whip as she came out of the twist. With Servine, it seemed like she didn't even need human help at all. Shocking her trainer gave her satisfaction. It had been awhile since she had gotten a chance to battle either, just like Tsuki, and she had to remind the Luxio that Valor wasn't the only big pokemon on the team. "I ... uh ..." Nolan checked to make sure Chael and crew was alright, but it really was unnecessary. Both golem and gator worked together wonderfully. "Do pokemon often attack you like that in big groups? The most I've ever seen was a bunch of floating Hoppips and they're about as dangerous as cottonballs." While Nolan was talking another wild Nosepass showed up from around the side of the area they were in. Yet this one didn't seem as interested in fighting the trainers and their pokemon very fairly, seeing what had happened to its friend. This one instead started to use its Rock Throw from up above, behind a large rock, bombarding the area with stones, trying to drive them away. Nolan this time was the one who warned the rest, "Incoming!" He moved back, narrowly being missed by a stone the size of his fist. Nolan really only saw the cave they had been walking away from as the best place to hide. With something to cover their heads, either the Nosepass would leave, or be forced to come fight them on level ground. Post 152 Chael jumped back, avoiding the rocks. "Yeah, I mean Pokemon work together when you catch them so why not before?" he asked, trying to figure out what had thrown the rocks. Probably another Nosepass or something. Argos sent out a warning Water Gun to the rock. "I've see them a couple times. Like when I met this one group yesterday morning, three Pokemon tried to jump me. I think they're called Pokepacks or something." he explained, letting Argos stand there as a challenge. He had a Rash nature for a reason. Tsuki would pat the ground at his feet. He wanted to have a chance at battling again. I mean he had knocked the wind out of that Dragonite really good! Fear caught on to what he was thinking. So far she had shown the most resentment to losing that battle still. She would show that Elite Four what for next time. Nolan couldn't believe that Chael could stay so cool under a hail of rocks from the Nosepass. Yet then Nolan would be stressed out about a nut falling out of a tree. Better safe than sorry, he didn't want brain damage, and he started quickly backing up all the way into the cave. There the stones no longer could reach him and his pokemon. Now he felt comfortable enough to reply. "Pokepacks? I've heard of flocks banding together for protection, but I've never seen more than one type of pokemon hang out with each other." Either way, despite what Nolan thought, now another Dwebble showed up next to the Nosepass behind their cover. It would have been funny if that was only snowballs they were throwing at each other, but now the Dwebble added his Rock Blasts to the Rock Throws, aiming them at Argos. Granted, they were at a pretty far distance so their accuracy was low, but they replaced quality for quantity. Nolan was getting seriously worried. "... Maybe we should just get out of here. We can duck down in the cave for awhile. They're pretty deeply entrenched up there, Chael ..." Post 153 Chael would have a small rock peg him in the chest. "I would agree but... isn't there a higher chance Pokemon like these would nest in a cave? Going in could set an entire swarm after us." he said, a bead of sweat falling down his brow at the thought. He was a good trainer. But he wasn't that good. Then he had Nolan as somebody else to protect. The Luxio would be useless against rock types and the snake looked more rebellious than anything. Ok, idea time.... "Have your Pokemon that know special moves form a circle around you." he said, returning Fear and Tsuki. The other four made a square around him as he began to try and head out. The Dwebble would find a Water Gun flying at it. "I suggest hurrying before they call their friends." he said to Nolan. Special attacks, special attacks ... Out of all the times he could have checked up on what his pokemon had learned since last being healed, Nolan chose now to get out his pokedex. He still was pretty safe just inside the mouth of the cave, and so far nothing has stirred from the depths. He felt alright taking the time. Special attacks ... "Uh, the only ranged attack my pokemon have is Snivy's Leaf Tornado." And yup, Nolan accidentally called his Servine by her old name before she had evolved. That caused the Grass Snake to look up at him, a few moments before she realized too that she was no longer a tiny Snivy anymore. She just ended smiling despite the situation they were in. Valor still thought this was a fun game, but since Nolan looked so stressed out, he decided to stay by his trainer's side. Just like Argos! Sure enough, while Nolan fretted about all his physical attackers, yet another Nosepass joined the other two up on the ridge. The hail of rocks was getting thicker, but at least not any bigger. Thankfully they still were relatively weak wild pokemon, yet Nolan still didn't want to get smacked in the head by any stones. "Err, what do you suggest now?" Post 154 Chael raised as eyebrow. "Haven't you named your Servine?" he questioned, having Argos blast more water as the moving rocks. Soon Bruce was doing the same thing as a Rock Throw! Backing out of the cave, Chael spoke "I suggest backing up before one evolves out of anger." Ok, Nolan needed a serious distraction. Having his Pokemon move to face the rocks, but without the trainer or his Pokemon in the way, Chael ordered "Water Gun, Rock Throw, and Shock Wave." A blast of charged water with rocks within would soon pelt the rock types. This would hurt. "Get out of there." Chael said, hoping the horde didn't get much bigger. They were weak Pokemon but there was strength in numbers. Nolan found himself nodding, agreeing with the plan of action. Even though, a handful of wild pokemon weren't really a match for two trainers with relatively good pokemon, Nolan still couldn't quite shake the eerie feeling he was being watched. He hadn't even yet noticed that the Golett was a Ghost pokemon. "I ... uh, no, I guess I haven't figured out a name that we both like yet." Chancing a look up where those Nosepass and Dwebble were hiding, Nolan also got a good look as Chael's pokemon went on the offense. Valor was getting excited, and when Nolan took a step out, waiting for his chance to get clear, the Luxio saw that as the signal for ATTACK! Besides, Argos was doing it too! Valor leaped out from where he was hiding with his trainer, and dashed at the closest Nosepass. Nolan cried out in alarm when he noticed where his Spark cat was going, and when Valor got smacked in the face with a rock. Valor wasn't so easily detoured. With the cover fire from Chael's pokemon, the Luxio zig-zagged up to the wild pokemon. Claws sparking, he scrabbled on the smooth surface of the Nosepass's side, but that electricity held on, zapping the rock. Then everything went crazy, with pokemon going every which way, rocks and sparks flying. Valor bit and scratched. And during all this craziness? Servine noticed some rocks that had come loose under the barrage, and some blue glinted from underneath the rubble. With a flick of her tail, she uncovered a Water Stone, then picked it up and deposited it in Nolan's bag. That got a strange look from her trainer. Nolan couldn't fathom why the Grass Snake seemed so calm with Valor in obvious danger. Didn't see care? But there was a good reason Servine was still calm and collected. Valor just thought this was all another game, although he was getting some bruises, and a bunch of drab wild pokemon weren't much of a match, not with Chael's pokemon firing on them as well. She just sighed, hoping someday that Nolan wouldn't be so strung out for once. The Ruins were alright, but she didn't want to keep hiding in the shade of some cave. But Chael did get her thinking about why she didn't have a nickname yet like the electric cats and the bird. And just like that, the wild pokemon were sent packing, scattering and confused. Valor licked one paw and shook some of the water that splashed on him from Argos's Water Gun. Then he bounced back down to his human, his tail upright and still crackling with electricity. Nolan just breathed a sigh of relief, but he had to check to see if his Luxio was alright. Valor tended not to show if he was hurt. Servine was still scouring the area. What was very much probably stealing, she spotted what looked like an abandoned backpack. After unzipping it, she found a clear plastic item with something strange inside. Well, Servine didn't know exactly what it was, but she brought it over to Nolan anyway, putting it down on the ground by Valor's paws. "Vin ..." That was enough for now, and she waited patiently while her trainer looked at the Luxio's paws. Post 155 While having his Pokemon keep the battle up, Chael said "Well have her use that tornado thing again. It looked like a grass type move." Argos kept blasting water from his mouth as he jumped around, like a ninja gator. Rocks were thrown and the battle gained a little more difficult. Chael turned his gaze back on the battle. Servine wasn't interested at all in taking suggestions from other trainers, and Nolan must not have heard Chael at all. Nolan had his own issues, even though he wasn't so concerned with the stragglers now. He relied on Chael and his team take care of the rest. It wasn't a problem now since the rain of rocks had stopped out where he was. The Nosepass were just trying to keep Argo back out of fear. Meanwhile, Valor tilted his head to one side, wondering what Nolan found so interesting with his paws. Maybe the human was trying to communicate! But that's not how it was done! Nolan fell over backwards when the Luxio pulsed a harmless shock through his claws, saying hello in a totally different way. Valor smiled, happy to have such a friendly trainer, even if he couldn't use electricity. Nolan stood back up shakily, his skin tingling, and decided right then and there that Valor must be perfectly fine. Servine snickered. Nolan brushed off his palms and looked over to see if Chael had driven off the wild pokemon yet. Post 156 Packing up an Upgrade Chael found, he said "You ok? We should get out of the cave and try digging outside. Without the enraged rocks." He took a few steps out of the cave to take in the fresh air. It was a pretty nice day today. "There was this one guy here yesterday with a Manetric here." he mentioned, remembering he never even got his name. Oh well. "Hey, fancy a quick battle? My Argos versus your Servine." he asked, noticing his Croconaw getting pumped. Foot bumping into a rock, he picked up a.... Trying not to ramble, Nolan followed right behind Chael, and even passed him up a few paces while Chael was enjoying the much cleaner air. Servine spread her tail towards the sun to soak up some more rays, and now started to seriously sized up the Croconaw after Chael's request. Nolan had taken the crimson bandanna off from around Valor's neck, noticing how filthy it had gotten.
