Bitey? How odd. I wonder how that happened. Teo thought as she stroked the end of her own tail and shook her head. Those were thoughts for later... or never. It wasn't her business and wouldn't bring her profit, so there was really no point in dwelling on it. "And I don't mind puns at all," she grinned. "I've heard much worse."

The cougar woman only waited long enough for Hyrum to give Arty back her sandal, but she was stopped by a shout from Ketos. "Team what now?!" Teo snapped back at the red-head. "I'm a merchant, not a vigilante... and he's gone now." She crossed her arms and huffed. "Really? Oh well... he'll have to find me first if he wants to drag me into any more heroics. I've lost enough business as is."

She shrugged at Hyrum as they exchanged glances and left the crumbling building. Marcus wasn't that far, waiting just a few blocks away and came running at Teo's call. From there, it was just a matter of finding an open inn with stables, of which there was only one in Sairaag. She ate dinner with Hyrum, mostly for the company, before paying for her own room. Being a hybrid, Teo often found herself either beset by men attempting to woo her or a few concerned citizens trying to run her out of town. Thankfully, Sairaag needed all the help it could get to rebuild, so no one accused her of being a monster or demon as she strolled down the hall and into her room.

"Well... things were certainly exciting today," Teo said to herself as she cleaned up for the night. Too bad I lost so much market time. I'll make it up tomorrow. With those thoughts, she flopped down on the bed and fell fast asleep.

As the bed and mattress creaked and groaned with the pace of his breathing going in and out of his body,Hyrum was sleeping peaceful as morning arrived. Yesterday had been eventful and exciting. He got to meet a super cute girl,save a little cute girl and meet a man with fists that were almost as rocking as his own. It was all almost enough to make him forget that he just about skipped work for the rest of the day to find Arty. ...oh well. It was relatively easy to get over that fact when he remembered last night as he was falling asleep. He would make up for it tomorrow. For tthe time being,he just wanted to sleep.

And sleep he did until morning. With the first rays of light coming through his window,Hyrum woke up slowly and peeled himself off of his bed. That's a big dent in the mattress...they can fill that out with straw later. Fixing his grey white hair to look responsible for going out,getting dressed and adjusting his hat,the chimera was ready to work. There was no sign of Teo being up and he wasn't going to wake her. He would find her later and see what she wanted to do. Maybe he would get lucky for once and get a girlfriend! But first I need the dough to treat her nice if she does want to stick with me.

Walking through Sairaag during the early morning,Hyrum didn't see a lot of people so he didn't have to worry about people staring. He picked up breakfast on the way to the next part of town that needed reconstructing and looked for the foreman of the projects. It was the same man he had to work for yesterday. So after getting chewed out about not coming back to work after his break,Hyrum went straight to work. There were rocks that needed to be moved,crushed,bricks to be made,stone to be cut,wood hauled...there was no end in sight of the things that Hryum's body allowed him to do in jobs like this. Aren't I the lucky b*****d... But still,jobs were jobs and money was money. And he needed to make money. So it was off to some early morning work for him and his fists.

"If you losers are gonna stare and watch me break stone like this,you may as well pay up for the show!"

What a way to start the day.

My what interesting people Arty was meeting lately. Life had been so simple ever since her and Ketos had set up camp in Sairaag, everything had fallen into a simple level of routine and common occurrence. Both of the siblings had their own things to get done to complete the day that the world felt both peaceful but at the same time so bland. Ms Theo and Mr Hyrum were both so neat and exciting, it made their current life of simplicity seem just so boring. Sure it all happened over the whole kidnapping thing, but Arty had seen some adventure after she was forced to leave the nest. Keet had taken care of bandits and other monsters and ruffians along the way. Sure things were safe...-ish here, but it was just starting to feel dull. If Arty was feeling it she knew her brother's blood had to be boiling and he must have been feeling a similar level of wanderlust. Still right now she could see if Theo here had anything adventurous to tell, well, after she got to play with the girl's cat parts. Right now Artelind had some fawning to do. "Aw. They're so soft! It must be so nice having something like this. I wish I could have had cute kitten parts ins-" The homunculus' moments of girly excitement almost made her slip something.

Artelind didn't like people knowing she was a homunculus. Unlike other homunculus she didn't have the same obvious clues like how Hyrum looked but when she started to cast her skin changed, it would become more soft blue in hue and gain an almost rubbery like texture and thicker layer to it. It made her feel ugly compared to her normal self or even how Theo had cute cat ears. "Wow those are really nice. You've had them forever? Do they help give you better hearing and balance? Does egg yoke help improve the shine to the coat like with animals? Oh oh. Not that your an animal or anything. Its just, well, you know. Um never mind! Does it help you at work? You're a merchant right? I think ive seen you in the markets before but I never had time to look at what you had." For once Arty was seeming a little less princess like and more spastic teenaged girl. A mix of excitement and trying to change the subject so Theo wouldn't think about what she said before caused all her questions to come rushing out. Still, she was pretty interested in Theo, she was a new friend after all. First saving her and now running into her at the baths, it had to be a sign of them become best friends!

Chatting for a bit too long till the girl looked towards the door. "Oh fiddlesticks, what time is it? I bet you don't have time to keep here and talking...and more people might show up soon and the later crowd....well..." Arty didn't want her new friend to leave but time was dragging on. If only she could think of something. After a second the homunculus had a bright idea. Holding her finger out at Theo in a gesture for her to wait a second as she quickly dived under the water, wanting to try and wash her hair quickly before trying something new. Coming back up with a few gasps for air. "Ms Theo I have an idea. Well if you're okay with it that is. Since I don't have anything to do today, and well I feel like I owe you and Mr Hyrum something. Maybe I can help you with your shop thing? I promise i'll do my best to help!" Arty had a bright and hopeful look on her face, she was really looking forwards to the ideas of helping her sell stuff. Well not in that light, but getting to know her more and do something for the day sounded exciting to her. This was a chance to get to know her new friend and try something new that she never did before.

Oh glorious day! Artelind's new friend agreed to let her help at her shop, er market stall! Sure it didn't sound that amazing but it seemed pretty cool to her. Quickly the young homunculus climbed out of the bath to start toweling off and get dressed. Sure she was in a rush to get going but she didn't want to be late to her first day on the job! So with damp hair the girl hurried to slip into her normal set of robes, red sash, and sandals. The girl did a mix of walk and comb her hair trying to keep from slowing Teo down too much. This was exciting for her and she didn't want to ruin it before it even started.

Arty did the best she could to help. Find a spot that was empty, help set things up, try and sell things. All the while she got to chit chat with Ms Cat here and learn neat things about her. She had a family with brothers and sisters and parents. She even had this really nice horse named Marcus, just one interesting thing after another. Arty never met someone that treated a horse so personally, most people just kinda treated them like a beast of burden so it was interesting to see how she was so kind to this one. Sure when things came to talking about her family she was a little on the shyer side with giving out details, on herself at least. She would mention about her "father" and how Keet was her brother (albeit an acquired one), but she tended to not mention things on how she was a homunculus or a spell caster. Not that she was ashamed she just didn't want Theo asking about her spells and that leading to her casting, and that leading to Theo freaking out seeing the demon aspect she was infused with starting to show. So she would just kinda hide that. But the rest of her journey was okay to talk about.

As a sales woman Arty was hit and miss. She was able to draw people in with her innocent demeanor and kind and soothing way of talking to people, but the girl wasn't good at haggling or really selling something. She could say how nice it was, but she didn't like swindling or lying which had to be explained to her. One person seemed honest with how they were low on money but their girlfriend and he described her as his true love would absolutely love him if he could get some of those scented lotions for a good price and Arty almost agreed if Theo didn't come in and stop her. He seemed honest and it was for love though so she didn't see the problem in a discount or deal. So maybe working with the money was a bad idea, at least she could show off products. "Ms Theo, hows your big friend? The one that came to my rescue yesterday. I'd like to thank him more properly as well." Though she wouldn't try helping him at his job, she was about two hundred pounds too light for that. She was thinking of making him a meal or something, he looked like he could eat a lot and probably wasn't picky.

The thundering of hooves stopped once they reached the top of the hill. Taking a deep breath of the clean air that still found a way to be made,Nadia took a look down at the former great city of Sairaag. Sairaag...it's lost it's great looks but it still has a luster to it-and that luster is easy money. After riding for days,the Bandit Queen and her men had finally made it to the ruined city. She was already feeling excited at the idea of starting up a protection and extortion business here. Once she had a good grip on the place,she could leave and come back whenever she wanted some easy cash. Sort of like my own piggy bank...oh I love it!

"Your orders,ma'am?" One of her lackies asked.

Petting Bo's head as he sat in her lap in the saddle,Nadia knew exactly what she wanted to have done here. "Start going into the city and scouting out the businesses. Study what they sell and how much business they take in. After that,come to me with the reports. Once we now what businesses are good and juicy,we move in to pluck them and make them our own!"

"And what if there are others that...have already plucked them,ma'am?"

"Then we crush them,and use them as an example of what happens to those that defy us! I mean to make this city mine and I mean it! Now ride out,scouts! Come back once you've learned all that you can! Divide and conquer!"

"YES MA'AM!"

Nadia loved hearing that as the scouts rode off into town. The rest of her men were beginning to set up camp then as she continued to sit on her horse on the hill. "I'm going to check out the town myself. See if I can get things moving and steal some purses.

"In need of bodyguards,ma'am?"

"Just have them follow in the shadows. I'll have Bo-Bo to protect me! <3" There was no arguing with Nadia once she decided something about that pig of her's. So she went off in town on her own,pig following behind her with three rather large men tailing her. Everyone started to feel excited then. Nadia always knew how to shake things up wherever they went...and they usually ended up on top in the end.

"What shall we steal first,Bo? The city,some chump's pride...or someone's heart?"

Lunchtime couldn't have come any faster in Hyrum's case. Work had been a beast so far today and he needed some food to re-energize himself. Oowww...stone fists or not,cutting rocks like that for so long really hurts the knuckles... Needless to say,the chimera's all purpose body got him a lot of heavy duty,labor intensive work to do when it came to rebuilding the city. Not that he could complain...much. It would help if half of those lazy bastards did their own jobs too...

Leaving the site of his latest project,Hyrum went out to find something to eat and hopefully Teo. He hadn't seen much of the catgirl since last night and he was really looking forward to seeing her again. Even the little one Arty would have been nice,just for some company. Her big brother...maybe. Finding himself a stand to pick up some meat,bread and fruit,the chimera left to sit on a half build wall and eat his make shift lunch. At least the food is good no matter where you are.

Thinking about money again,Hyrum started to wonder how much he would make today and if he would have enough to send home. After that,he wondered if he could spend any one himself...or maybe Teo. Maybe another bottle of lotion,this time for her...or something to make my back more polished. Munching on his apple and bread,Hyrum thought all of this over...while trying to ignore everyone looking at him funny. "You gotta pay to look at this! Geez..."

Hyrum was still sitting on his little section of wall,eating his lunch and minding his own business. It wasn't like he was expecting to actually see anyone he knew at the moment. So when little Arty the not nun girl came up to talk to him it really was a surprise. "Huh? Oh,the little miss from yesterday! Hey there! Nah,you don't have to pay anything. It's just what I tell people that stare at me for too long. Sometimes they do pay so I scare them off or bop them in the nose. Come,sit!" Sliding to the side and patting the wall with his big hand,Hyrum made room for Arty to sit if she chose to.

It looked like Arty was in the middle of getting lunch too,as it would appear. Munching on his own food,the little girl started to ask him what she should get for lunch. Again,to his surprise,she mentioned Teo and what she would have wanted. He didn't know that they were still talking to each other after the events of yesterday. This was perfect though! It meant that he could see Teo again! YES!

"I can't really say for sure what Teo would like in the ways of apples. Maybe the red ones since they're a little sweeter...but then again,she may like how tart the green ones can be...depending on the price,get one of each. I'm sure she could appreciate it if the prices were good." Teo was hard to peg. It was very more true since he only met her yesterday.

"Come on,little miss. I'll help you do your food shopping. I'm not due back at work for a while now. I can help you get something tastier than bread." Finishing up his apple and tossing out the core,Hyrum hopped off the wall and dusted himself off. "How you been since yesterday anyway?"
