Clarice was fine with her distraction technique proving ineffective...ok, no, she really wasn't. But that's not why she lowered her shirt and held out her wrist, Raeg's metal cuff glowing. It also wasn't because of the whore comment. Okay maybe a little because of the whore comment.
Alright it was pretty much because of the whore comment.
The massive sword blocked out the monster action and hit the ground at the failhunters' feet, creating a destructive shockwave. "Hey guys," she smiled pleasantly, Raeg still glowing and hungry for battle, "I tried to do this the nice way."

Video Interview "So what's your favorite kind of food?" *BLEEP*, I like everything, man. Does beer count as food? If so, then I choose that one. Oh my God, and those *BLEEP*ing nuts they have at the bar while you're waiting for your beer, you know what I'm talking about? I *BLEEP*ing loved those, man. I miss the bars. I used to sit there and watch the game, yelling and screaming with perfect strangers until we all got drunk enough to be best friends. Eating our beer and drinking our salty beer nuts. I like my nuts extra salty." Robert screamed when a shot of white slammed into his face, and he stumbled back a few steps, rubbing the sting out of his eyes - which only made it worse. "WHAT KIND OF *BLEEP*ING WEAPON WAS THAT YOU STUPID *BLEEP*ING *BLEEP*S? I'M GONNA *BLEEP*ING KILL YOU GODDAMN!" Red eyed and angry as hell, he focused on finishing off the shadowed figure, taking his rage out constructively before he went and got fired for killing a civilian. The ground underneath him shook, and the men were now out of sight, hidden behind Clarice's giant blade. Ah, ********, he loved that woman. The adoration was plain on his dopey face. Video Interview "Do you like your superiors?" "Well I already told you the pros of having H as a boss. So yeah." "And what about Clarice?" Robert's cheeks betrayed him with a tinge of pink, but he played it cool. (No he didn't.) "What about her? She's all right." "Do you like working under her?" Robert stood up, out of the camera's view, and walked off the screen, with muffled arguments barely audible in the background to try and get him to sit down and finish the interview. Though Clarice's sword - it was becoming increasingly obvious to viewers that either she really liked to be in the spotlight, or the cameraman just really favoured her..... physical prowess - was blocking half the view of the screen, as the trainees attacked the shadowy figure, two the Ghost Hunters could be heard in the background yelling about how their equipment was damaged forever.
At least the annoying wa waaa waaaaaaaaaa of the EMF had stopped.

Oh thank god, this time she was more successful. Clerise ran past the figure, dragging Balthazar along its figure as she did, the runic blade slicing against it.
Too bad it swiped at her.
"BLEEP YOU TOO, YOU BLEEPING BLEEP OF DONKEY BLEEP GO CHOKE ON A DUFFLE BAG OF BLEEP--"
She gave it the finger.

Video Interview Flushing slightly, Clarice defended her actions, "Hey, I tried to use something other than violence. It's on record...I went the *beep*ing distance for peaceful resolution." She huffed softly, "If that Tim guy hadn't been such a *beep!*block..." she paused and then waved her hands in front of the camera. "Not that there would have been any *beep!*! There would have been no *beep!*" Crossing her arms in front of her chest, the blonde scowled, "Next time I'm just gonna bring some *beep!*ing tazers." "So Robert did pretty well, considering his past record..." She immediately perked up and beamed brilliantly at the camera, "Right? I think he's really turned a corner!" "So you don't hate him?" Clarice made a face, "I never really hated him, I mean it's just...there were things I...you know, it's really none of your *beep!*! business. Even if he still has a few personal problems with me, and I still get a little pissed off from time to time, he's a better hunter now, and as his superior, that's all that really matters, kay?"

Candace shook her head at her own miss. Damnit, how could she let herself do tha--holy s**t who was shooting at them!? She jumped out of the way of where she assumed the shot to have come from, watching as Robert suddenly flipped his s**t over having..salt...shot at his face. "Salt, the Robert Slug's only weakness." She commented with a grin before glancing Clarice's way to see what she was up to. Oh man she summoned Raeg. ********' yes!
Ah! Wait! Fighting, right. Monster ghost thing yes right okay let's do this.
She slid across the ground, ducking to stay out of Balthazar's way as Clerise sliced it against the creature while kicking her leg out and turning to catch behind the creature's legs and sweep them out from underneath them. She grinned, hopping to her feet and then hopping back a couple of steps away from it. Atropos was glowing brighter than ever; she was very ready.

Robert swiped at the monster a few times without looking. He was still staring at the giant sword, but this time the dopey look had vanished. Now he was getting just a little bit of weapon envy.
As if you really need to be bigger.
"Not me, sugar tits. You." He turned to regard his weapon with a sour pout. "If I train hard, can I make you grow?"

"Are you getting a clear shot of this Larry! Holy crap, look at them, they're angering the spirits." Tim took a second to talk directly to Larry's camera. "Now, for anyone watching this instructional video about spirits of the other world, remember never ever, to anger the ghosts, otherwise you will end up ghost fodder like these civilians over there."
Yes, they were indeed, filming the action, though they didn't seem to notice the giant creature at all: or even perhaps, be able to actually see it, instead, simply gauging it in terms of "ghost activity", ie: based on how much the ground kept on shaking in an invisible circle around and against the trainees and Hunter. Which was, to any untrained eye, still a ******** lot.

Video Interview "So you know your performances are all on record, right?" Candace looked surprised, if not slightly suspicious. "Uh..I guess? What are you getting at?""Oh! No! I don't mean to make it sound like you're in trouble. Sorry. I just mean it's impressive! You know you could transfer to Sun if you wanted, right? Get out of Mist?" At that Candace gave a little snort and shook her head. "No thanks. Besides, I doubt Allan and Simon would even want me after the fantastic first impression I gave them. Even if I didn't have that, though, I would never leave Mist. No one gives it enough credit. It's a great division."Candace liked to think herself a capable fighter; she had been receiving compliments for it even from Clarice and H, and if we were being honest here it might have occasionally gotten to her head. She tried not to get too cocky anymore, she tried so hard to keep herself grounded. But it's hard to do that when you kept being awesome. This was probably why when it came time to release Atropos' charge she missed. It was something that shouldn't have been possible with the way Atropos functioned but she somehow managed to slip on a bit of salt, sliding right into a pothole and hitting the ground hard. "*BLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP*! that hurt!" She winced, rubbing her ankle. She'd be okay..except her pride was bruised. HP: 18

The last time Robert had used Jezebel correctly, it had been as background lighting for their snowman. Before that, he'd made himself a nice spotlight to sing and dance in. But Jezebel was a fickle weapon, and she never really wanted Robert to succeed in anything. She usually got her wish - the man had a failing success rate to die for. But just this once, Jezebel was feeling a twinge of jealousy. She could tell that Robert was fawning excessively over Raeg, and it had started to bother her. It was her own fault, really; but in reality, it was never the woman's fault. Therefore, she saw fit to let Robert know she was ready to release her charge, and if he could kindly try not to ******** up the summoning, she would not let him down.
The request / demand shocked Robert enough that it was visible on his face, and he looked down at the batleth in his hands, and wordlessly followed her command. The weapon was held vertically in front of him, as he started to rotate it like a helicopter blade. He could feel her power building, shifting, moving within her, and the sound of her screaming started to pierce his mind. Jezebel glowed red hot, and then lighter, until she was white as snow. Only then did the sound of her screams actually fill the air, and not just Robert's poor mind. In a flash of blinding light, Jezebel exploded with Fear, letting out a deafening screech as she did so. The power behind it was effective enough to still the shadowed figure, stunning him shock still for a few minutes.
Maybe it was enough.
Robert stopped spinning Jezebel, and stuck a finger in his ear, rubbing it viciously.
"You're gonna give me hearing loss before I die."
One can only hope.

"Why can't you be useful like his weapon, huh?" Clerise asked with a pout.
{[ Tart. There's an opening-- attack. ]}
Clerise heaved a sigh. "BLEEP YOUUUU."
But, he wasn't entirely wrong. She had to admit that he served his purpose, and usually rather well...Usually. Except when the redhead was, you know. Tripping over him, or just tripping in general.
Thanks to Robert, though, there was a nice, wide opening for Balthazar's blade to attack the...thing. So, she ran. Combat boots gave her a better grip than usual with the ground, so Clerise flew at the beast, bringing him up high and swinging him down, hard.
She gave a wild whoop as she did. Nothin' like a free hit, cheap or not!

Candace was in the process of getting up when she noticed a bright flash of light, making the stupid mistake of looking up to see what it was. Holy s**t! She winced and rubbed her eyes, already seeing spots. Ow. Ow. Ow. Ow!
But the creature wasn't moving now! That was great! Candace went in after it, swinging a swift kick at its side. It almost missed. "*BLEEP*, remind me to bring sunglasses next time I go on any kind of mission with Robert."

Robert sat back in his chair, frustrated. "Yeah, well, there you go." "And Clerise is new to your division, right? How are you getting along with her?" Robert shrugged noncommittally. "Okay I guess." "Think she'll be a problem on this mission?" The apathy melted and Robert let out a sharp snicker, his eyes straight on the camera. "Clerise reminds me a lot of myself. Like, a lot. Me and her are cut from the same cloth. You dig?" "So.. is that a yes?" Robert's grin turned feral. "Oh most definitely."

Video Interview Clarice is blushing and laughing a little awkwardly, "Clerise as a fighter? It's still too early to tell, but she's enthusiastic and really... physical. In a good a way!" She adjusted her shirt a bit and continues, "She's still learning, but given her experience and her current attitude? I think she'll get pretty far!" "What about Candace? She spends a lot of time in the labs..." The blonde's expression grew wry, "Candace is definitely one the intermediates with a lot of eyes on her. She's done amazingly so far, but you know what they say, the nail that stands tallest gets pounded hardest." She looked a bit sad for a moment, and then continued softly, "I just hope she keeps a level head."
