Lizzy wandered over to stand next to Calder, who was next to Barth, who was just standing there. She was very proud of Amrita. So very proud.

THE TIDE COMES IN AND...
With most of the the crabs dead and chased away, Lizzy couldn't help but feel proud of her group; sure, she didn't know must of them very well at all, but they did good so far!
However, just as she thought that their troubles were over, the tide came in and washed part of their sandcastle away. The only thing stopping it from washing everything away was-
"King Patrick!" She gasped; the starfish had been knocked out of its throne room, and had landed right in front of the sandcastle, one of its arms lodged into the wet sand. It almost looked like it was protecting its castle, and surprisingly, it was - thanks to Patrick, the wave lost some power, which meant that half their castle was still standing, even if the other half had been reduced to a lump of wet sand.
Maybe this game of thrones would last longer than just one episode.

Lizzy picked up a grain of sand, which was as heavy as a brick, and tried to make repairs to the sandcastle. Sadly, she tripped and ended up faceplanting into the sand.

After crawling up from the sand, Lizzy pretended that she didn't just trip and embarrassed herself by walking over to King Patrick and presenting him with a crown; it was made from bits of seaweed that she had torn off a seaweed that had been washed in by the tide.
Life was good.
Apparently King Patrick must also be pleased, because for some reason, she thought that their sandcastle looked a lot more stable all of a sudden.

And then as she turned around to walk away from King Patrick to work on the sandcastle, she tripped again and ended up faceplanting into the castle wall.
She stayed there.

Amrita had made a face akin to OAO as the wave crashed against their sandcastle. Oh no! They needed that to stay in the game! She tossed the broken crab leg over her shoulder and began to fidget, wondering where to start and how. Thankfully Lizzy provided a great person to work off of and she set to fixing a part of the castle; including 'reinstalling' some of the seaweed siding Calder had put up earlier.

This time her attempt at patching up the castle failed, as she somehow - and please don't ever ask how - stubbed her toe on some of the large, rough 'grains' of sand. It didn't hurt, but the surprise pressure did startle her enough to fall unceremoniously forward and knock out all of her hard earned work.

And then she stopped failing so hard at fixing the foundation again, shoving little rocks and sand and the occasional seaweed siding back into place. Throughout the process she didn't say a word, apparently focusing on just gettin' 'er done.

With the crabs gone, Calder breathed out and watched Amrita scare off the last group. Maybe they would tell all their crab buddies that this part of the beach was dangerous. This was THEIR turf now.
It was then that one element that Calder trusted betrayed him. The tide rushed in, and demolished their house like a miniature natural disaster, and Calder gripped his ears. "Our castle! STUPID WATER!" He shouted, and then paused. "Wait....I didn't say that." Nope.
Moving over, he started to grab some of the soggy sand and shove it back - manage to make a very sad pile. It in no way compared to the tower it once had been.

Christof grunted, looking understandably grumpy at their hard work thwarted by massive crabs. At least it seemed they were left in piece for now... if not a bit... under-scaled. Hell's Bells, this better not be permanent. He was getting used to odd things happening lately though, but it would be a lot of trouble to find replacement parts this small.
Just concentrate on the task at hand. With all three arms, he was able to haul up a few grains of sand, patting them into place. A quick glance to his cohorts and he relaxed a bit- they were doing great!
And Amrita looked... very cute in her bathing suit. He flushed and concentrated on his work. Yes. Task at hand. Finish it.

He was getting his momentum up, this was good. With a grunt, he managed to heft two heavy grains of sand up into place and why was this so impractical?? It had been one thing, if a bit silly in his opinion, to build the sand castle to begin with. But now at this diminutive size, crabs were the least of their worries! Hopefully it would be over soon, though, right? At the very least, the castle might provide them all with some protection.
Cause that's what Castles did.

Just... a few more... He had just managed to push a couple more pieces back into place when the third made his arms creak and his legs buckled, the sand particle landing heavily on his stomach as he collapsed to the ground with a muffled 'oof'.
But hey, they were making progress, right?

It seemed he was getting the basics down. Grab, cart, place. At least he had the strength for the task, but he really wished he was bigger. What was minor improvement could have been fixed easily if they were big again. One scoopful of sand was a pinch to a normal sized student. He was tempted to see if there was a way to bribe the crabs to use their pinchers to shovel some sand back on their castle. Sadly, he felt that ripping one of their friends arms off might make them a tad cross and unwilling to help.
It seemed on their own, as itty bitty as they were, they were managing just fine.

Calder was trying to heave a heavy armful of sand back around the base of the castle when he noticed he felt himself sinking. The mixture of water and sand and made a small sand trap. Dumping the sand down, Calder scrambled away. His sand managed to make the small trap no longer a trap, soaking up the leftover water, but he also hadn't managed to carry it over to the castle.
So much for that.
