 Rufio Bon Herenheim "Memories are the key. I need to know..." ▀▄▀▄ ▀▄▀▄ ★ ▀▄▀▄ ▀▄▀▄ Rufio hadn't quite expected Gen to pull the maneuver that he did. He braced himself for what was to come as he fell backwards. Right before his head could hit the ground, Rufio threw his arms back and flipped backwards a couple of times to get away from his opponent. Of course, his leg was in quite a bit of pain from what Gen had done. "You're skilled."
It was a simple statement, but a true one. Rufio took this time to look his opponent over and think about what his next move should be. In the end, after a few moments, the keyblader decided he would try to test Gen some more. Dashing forward, Rufio thrust his left hand forward, palm flat, aimed straight at Gen's nose. At the same time, he swung Zenith upwards in an attempt to immobilize Gen's left arm with a powerful strike. ▀▄▀▄ ▀▄▀▄ ★ ▀▄▀▄ ▀▄▀▄ Quote: Stone Golem Armor:Great increase to defense! Invulnerable to piercing blows to the chest. Chain of Might:Can cast Reflect, increased Attack and Speed. Quote: Rufio takes damage to his leg and retaliates with a brutal double attack! Rufio aims to break Gen's nose and immobilize his left arm!

"I could say the same of you," he said responding to Rufio's compliment. The stinging he felt on his arms and cheek was proof of that. It must have been some sort of luck he hadn't broken anything yet. How was he trained? Gen wondered. Maybe I should fight him again one day.. That thought surprised him. Fighting wasn't exactly something he liked to do for entertainment. Leaving those thoughts aside, Rufio was attacking again.
Gen noticed the palm strike first. He bent backwards to move out of the way, but he soon realized that was a mistake. At this rate, he wouldn't be able to dodge or block the strike from Rufio's Keyblade. The Keyblade rammed into his left arm, immediately sending excruciating pain through it. Gen staggered backward and held his now useless arm close to him. He could barely lift it, nor could he move any of the fingers. Hell, he didn't even know what was wrong with it. It hurt badly, but at least his nose wasn't broken.
Regaining composure, Gen ran forward and swung his weapon. He was aiming for the arm Rufio held his Keyblade in to knock it away. It was risky since there was a good chance it would fail entirely, but he was hoping to at least create some sort of opening.

I need to know..." ▀▄▀▄ ▀▄▀▄ ★ ▀▄▀▄ ▀▄▀▄ As Gen attacked, Rufio shook his head and reached out with his already injured arm, grabbing Gen's sword tight in his hand, holding it at bay. "Attempting to take out my sword arm. Good move, but a bit sloppy on your part. When fighting a faster opponent, it's generally a good idea to take out their legs or whatever it is that may be increasing your opponent's speed. You landed a good hit on one of my legs, but it wasn't enough to slow me down."
Releasing Gen's sword, Rufio stepped backwards until he was at the edge of the ring and grinned a bit. "Then again, when fighting against an opponent like me, taking out the legs isn't the only thing you'd have to do." The violet-haired man smiled and nodded his head a moment before opening his hand and letting Zenith drop. It faded away before hitting the ring. Bowing to his opponent, Rufio nodded again. "I would like to see what more you can do should you get the chance to move on. But, you're going to need to force me out. I'm here, I've set aside my weapon, and I'm waiting. Don't expect this to be easy for you." ▀▄▀▄ ▀▄▀▄ ★ ▀▄▀▄ ▀▄▀▄ Quote: Stone Golem Armor:Great increase to defense! Invulnerable to piercing blows to the chest. The truth of Rufio's following advice dawned on him. A frustrated expression came over him. Shouldn't he have learned that by now? He should've known better to somehow slow his opponent down. He would have to remember that for the future. Now he would have to.. wait, why was Rufio at the edge of the ring? He had let his Keyblade go, too. Gen stood, confused as to why anyone would be willing to let their weapon go. "You're a strange person," he commented, not meaning it in a bad way. He just couldn't understand his way of thinking. Was it an insult or a compliment that Rufio wanted to see what he could do? Why did he care in the first place, he wondered. For him, it wouldn't matter how skilled the opponent was if he ended up dead. He supposed he wouldn't have to worry about that here.
But what could he do to force Rufio out of the ring? Should he keep hold of his weapon or cast it aside as Rufio had? It wouldn't have done much anyway. With one arm injured, it would be harder to put strength into his swings. And Rufio was without a weapon, which signaled confidence in his ability to hold gen off, whether it be by strength or whatever else. At least, that's what Gen thought. He, on the other hand, had an unusable arm and little going for him besides agility. Even then, his opponent was still faster than him. What could he possibly do to get Rufio out of the ring? A full-out tackle would probably end badly. Swinging his sword wouldn't do much. Crap, why is it taking this long to think of something? If this were back home, I would've been killed ten times over by now! Not able think of anything creative, Gen decided to go with a simple charge. He would have to think of something based on Rufio's reaction.

Rufio Bon Herenheim "Memories are the key. I need to know..." ▀▄▀▄ ▀▄▀▄ ★ ▀▄▀▄ ▀▄▀▄ Rufio chuckled and shrugged his shoulders as Gen came at him. "So I've been told. I don't mind being a strange one." As Gen came ever closer, a small smirk played at the purple-haired man's lips. Leaping into the air over his opponent, Rufio thrust out his uninjured leg in an attempt to kick Gen out of the ring. A well placed kick to the back should do the trick. Though, if he was right about Gen, then his opponent would have another trick or two up his sleeve. There had to be just enough left in him to prove to Rufio that he should move on instead of Rufio. ▀▄▀▄ ▀▄▀▄ ★ ▀▄▀▄ ▀▄▀▄ Quote: Stone Golem Armor:Great increase to defense! He dropped his sword and reached back with his good arm. He grabbed his opponent's leg, stepped forward, and pulled. This was an attempt to throw Rufio out of the ring. Throwing people wasn't exactly his strong point, but trying things on the fly was a skill he found helpful to have. Funny how I haven't done this much, he thought, thinking that he must have faced plenty of people he could have tried throwing. Hopefully this maneuver would work. If it didn't, he didn't know what would. Would it live up to Rufio's expectations?

Rufio Bon Herenheim "Memories are the key. I need to know..." ▀▄▀▄ ▀▄▀▄ ★ ▀▄▀▄ ▀▄▀▄ Rufio smiled when Gen attempted to throw him. When he did, the violet-haired man twisted his body around and landed gracefully at the very edge of the ring. With a smirk, he bowed to Gen. "Good move. Not quite what I expected from you, but it's enough. I'll let you move on, but I expect to see far more from you. I'll be watching." With a chuckle, Rufio hopped backwards out of the ring and waved good-bye to Gen. "Might want to go get yourself checked out by the doctors before the final match." With that, the fighter exited the arena, a smile on his face. ▀▄▀▄ ▀▄▀▄ ★ ▀▄▀▄ ▀▄▀▄ Quote: Stone Golem Armor:Great increase to defense! Invulnerable to piercing blows to the chest. Why had he let him move on? Just to see what he could do? A strange person indeed.. But what was he expecting to see? If it was an elaborate or unpredictable style of attack, there was a good chance he would end up being sorely disappointed. I guess if it comes down to it, I could - He shook his head. No, he couldn't turn to that barbaric state, even if it was the only chance of winning. It wasn't exactly a pleasant experience, and it wasn't necessary either, since he was now in a position where he didn't have to win. He didn't need to go crazy like that for this tournament, and hopefully the next opponent wouldn't drive him to. Gen sighed, still not quite understanding Rufio's intentions or expectations. He followed his advice and found the doctors waiting around the arena. Left unsure of his win, he waited for the next match.
