Jagger Ridge

Jagger stayed quiet for a moment, while Serenity appeared to be thinking over his offer, and for a moment, he almost thought she would turn him down. So when she started doing that cute nod with her head, it surprised him. "Anytime," he said when she thanked him. Then adding that she'd go pick out some more, and asked if he wanted to leave now or later.

He gave a light shrug of his shoulders at the question. "Whenever you want to leave is fine with me. I don't have anything else to do, so it's not like I'm in a hurry or anything," he said.

Jagger seemed nice to her so it allowed her to open up a bit more around him. She smiled again and was happy when he said that it didn't matter when they left because he had no pressing matters to attend to. Great! She could stay here for a long time! Well, as long as it didn't bother him and she didn't get in trouble. She wasn't sure how much time had passed since she'd left her new Master in her room and came out looking for the library. It didn't seem as though it had been that long. In any case, after these thoughts went through her head, she sat her book down and walked around looking at various different books. She picked out one about how the body works and why, about half cat half human people like her, a math book, a science book, and a book on dogs. She hoped there wouldn't be any issues with her wanting to take these back to her room. And unfortunately she didn't have another piece of paper and pencil on her to leave the Head Mistress a note about the books she was taking. She'd be careful with them though! And bring them back like a good kitten when she was done. She brought each over one at a time to the table near her and Jagger and then sat back down by him before picking her book back up.

"Thanks Jagger! I wouldn't mind staying a bit longer. As long as it won't bother you. Just let me know when you want to go. Is there a book you want to read?"

Jagger Ridge

Jagger watched as Serenity went around the library, picking out her books. As she'd brought them over one at a time and sat them on the table, and then went back to picking out the next one, Jagger would curiously look over at the book she'd chosen. The one that was on people that were half cat, half human caught his attention. Obviously that's what she was. But that she had picked up a book about it made him wonder if she'd ever fully understood what she was. Jagger wondered if she hadn't, because why else would she choose a book about it if she'd learned first hand?

Jagger almost frowned at the thought, but stopped himself so that Serenity wouldn't misunderstand and think he was frowning at her. No, the reason he'd almost frowned was that he hated the thought that maybe Serenity didn't understand what she was. That was. . . well, Jagger remembered all too well what that was like, and he wouldn't wish that on anyone else. Especially not a sweet girl like Serenity.

When she brought the book over about dogs, Jagger held back a chuckle at the irony of it, but kept it at bay because he didn't want to risk hurting Serenity feelings. That was when Jagger suddenly asked himself why he was not only being so nice to Serenity, but being careful not to be rude. Normally Jagger didn't care what anyone thought. So why did he care with Serenity?

It was an answer he didn't have time to dwell on as Serenity came back over and sat down beside him again, returning to her book. And in a very un-Jagger like way, Jagger felt the corners of his lips tug up. It wasn't a full on smile, but it was more than Jagger normally did. "Doesn't bother me at all," he said, giving his head a light shake. And he realized that it didn't bother him. He was actually looking forward to spending some more time with her.

At the question of if there was a book he wanted to read, Jagger considered that for a moment. "I use to read a lot. It's been ages since I actually picked up a book through," he said with a light chuckle. Looking around at the books, he shrugged. "Good time to pick up the old hobby, though," he said. With that, Jagger stood up and began looking around the shelves himself.

After searching for a few moments, Jagger settled on two books. He picked them both up and returned to the couch, sitting down beside Serenity again. "Couldn't decide," he said, turning the books for her to see. One book was about ancient Ireland, and the second book was about Sorcerers and Sorcereresses. Jagger had decided to followed Serenity's lead and pick out books about something that was important to him.

"I'm from Ireland, originally. And my mother was a Sorcereress," he explained. "She taught me about my powers. But never got a chance to teach me about her race," he added. Normally that wasn't something Jagger would just admit, but he had a reason. Next, he nodded his head towards the stack of books Serenity had picked. "Is that why you picked the one on your race?" he asked curiously. He wasn't trying to be nosey. and if Serenity didn't wish to talk about it, he wouldn't push. But he couldn't help being curious. And the best way to go about asking, he thought, was to tell something about his self first.

Glad that the idea of staying here in the library longer wasn't a bother to Jagger, she relaxed a bit more and smiled up at him. Her ears twitching slightly and her tail swishing back and forth gently as she did so. When he said it had been ages since he'd last read a book it made her wonder how long it had been exactly. Which in turn made her wonder how old Jagger was for a moment. It was a thought that she quickly dismissed though, as she realized it really didn't matter. She watched him for a few moments as he walked around to different book shelves and found that she liked being in his presence. He made her smile and she didn't feel the need to shy away from him like most of the other people she'd met in her life. He may be a man of few words, but she was a young woman of few words as well. Perhaps they would become good friends. Smiling to herself, she returned her attention to her book on fish as she was now reading about the Clown variety.

A few moments later, she heard Jagger's footsteps coming closer to her and then felt him sit back down next to her on the couch. Looking up again she smiled softly and tucked some hair behind her ear when he said he couldn't decide. Just when she was about to ask him why he'd picked the books he had, he began to explain. He was from Ireland? Where was that? And what was a Sorceress? And what powers did he have? Were they like Master Ashers powers over air and such? And what did he mean by race? He looked human enough. Wasn't she still human? She wasn't sure. That's why she'd chose the book on half cat half human people. She needed to know. Then he'd asked her about picking a book on her race... Did he mean the one about the half cat half human??... She blinked slowly a few times as she thought about how to respond, then finally spoke up in her soft, slightly timid, voice.

"Well, I don't know what you mean by race Jagger. But I picked that book on half cat half human people because I don't know what I am. I don't know who I am." Tears welled in her eyes as she admitted this to him. Not only because it was a deep pain, but a fresh one as well. It reminded her of the scene in the bathroom not long before she came down from her room looking for the 'place with books in it' as she'd called it, before she'd learned that it was called a library. "But aside from me, can you tell me more about you? Like, where is Ireland? What does it look like? Do you miss it? And... What is a Sorceress? What powers do you have? Are they like Master Ashers power over air? And what does the word race mean? Aren't there just humans? You look human."

Serenity clasped the end of her sleeves with her slender fingers and brought her arms up to wipe away the tears that had sprung to her eyes. After sniffing a few times to clear her nose, she looked up at him awaiting his response.

Jagger Ridge

For a moment, as Serenity blinked at him, Jagger wondered if maybe he shouldn't have said anything at all. Maybe it was a sensitive subject for her and she didn't want to talk about it. Jagger was just about to say that she didn't have to answer when she did. Jagger was glad that they were alone, so that he could hear what she said, because he noticed how quiet her voice was, and maybe just a bit timid. Though he had noticed that she appeared to be opening up a bit around him.

He blinked at Serenity, opened his mouth and then shut it just as quickly. Not even sure what to say at first. The fact that she looked about to cry made him uncomfortable, but at the same he wanted to try to say something to make her feel better. And also scared the crap out of him that he'd say the wrong thing and really make the waterworks happen. Funny thing that it is, Jagger could handle pretty much about any situation without losing his cool; but put a crying girl in front of him and he stumbled over himself.

Then there was the issue of her questions. There were a lot more than Jagger had expected. He'd suspected that maybe she didn't know what she was. . . but the thought had never even crossed his mind that maybe there was a lot more she didn't know. He silently kicked himself for that, as he remembered how earlier Serenity had asked him about a 'place with in it' rather than calling it a library. He should have noticed it then. "Oh, uh, here," Jagger said when he saw her wiping her eyes on the sleeve of her shirt. He pulled a cloth handkerchief, with J.R. written in gold on the right corner. "It's clean," he promised, handing it to her. It was a habit he carried it with him, actually, he'd had it since he was a young teen and just kind of kept it with him through the years.

"As for uh. . ." Jagger paused, trying to figure out where to being with the questions. And the best way to explain them. "A race is just. . . how you describe a certain group of people that have similar characteristics, appearance, powers in common. That kind of thing. And. . . I don't really know that much about your race. But I can tell you that there's a lot of people that are like you, I've seen plenty of people with a similar appearance," he added, hoping that maybe that would make her feel a little better. "And. . . well, yes, I suppose we're all humans. But there's different types of humans. There's regular humans, with no powers and don't understand those that are different from themselves. Then there's. . . special humans, like you and me, and the others here, who have something special about them," he explained the best he could.

Not sure how to answer her question about telling her more about himself, Jagger skipped over that one to the question about Ireland. Not that he was trying to be rude, but Jagger tried to avoid talking about himself as much as possible. "Uh, well, I can show you where Ireland is," he said. Jagger started to reach for Serenity's hand but stopped himself, not wanting to spook her. "Uh, follow me," he said instead, standing up and motioning for her to follow him. He walked over to the corner of the library, where a large globe sat. "This is a globe, it's a map of the world," he said, guessing that maybe she didn't know what that was either. He turned the globe around, until he got it to the side that revealed Ireland, and pointed his finger at it. "This is Ireland, where it's located, anyway. It's a long way from here. And as for what it looks like. . ." Jagger trailed off as he walked over and picked up the book he'd picked out on Ireland. He flipped it open, and found a few pictures of Ireland, one was of a farm house on a large field, another was just of a cliff that overlooked the ground below, all nature that hadn't been tinted by mankind. He turned the book around to show her. "And this is what it looks like. It all use to look like this a long time ago. It's changed now, been modernized, but there's still some places like this," he explained.

He handed her the book, in case she wanted to look at it closer, and crossed his arms over his chest. He'd already talked more than he normally did, but for whatever reason he didn't mind. "As for if I miss it. . ." he continued. That was a loaded question, so he chose his answer carefully. "I miss the home I had. I don't miss what I left behind," he said. It was cryptic, yes, but the best way he could answer it right now. "As for a Sorceress, that's a woman with powers. The male version is called a Sorcerer. I uh. . . I don't know who this is Ashers is. . . but no, my powers aren't over air. They're with shadows," Jagger paused, not even sure how to begin to explain those to her. Normally he'd just show her, but he was worried that might spook her. "I uh, I can create shadows and control them. Even travel through them," he said, giving a light shrug of his shoulders. Then he decided to go quiet, giving her time to process what he'd said.

As she wiped her eyes with her shirt sleeves, she heard him speak to her. Looking up again, she saw that he was handing her a handkerchief. Gently she reached for it and took it dabbing her eyes dry thanking him for it. She noticed the initials and thought that they may be his. She sniffed and then listened as he answered several of her other questions. "Thank you." Her cat ears perked up as he explained what 'race' meant. Her eyes, glimmering a bit from the added wetness the tears had provided, brightened when he spoke of others he'd seen like her. There were MORE like her! Amazing! ... But just as quickly when he went on to say that there were normal humans that didn't understand humans like the two of them, her ears flattened and she seemed momentarily sad as she looked down and thought of her parents who had sold her on the black market to be rid of the embarrassment of having her as their child. For a moment she even wondered if perhaps they'd had other children and if they were "normal". Which brought up even more questions. Like; Where the other children? If there were, were they like her? Where did her genes come from if not from her parents? It made her want to look into it. Burning questions that needed answers.
Snapping back to the conversation at hand she then heard Jagger say that there were more than just humans and that some had special powers and such. It was all so new and fascinating to her.
"So, there are more like me? Really? I hope I get to meet some of them one day... It would make me really happy. I wouldn't feel so alone."She saw that he was going to reach for her hand and then had decided not to. She tried not to think about it much, but found that she could not keep the image from springing into her head of him taking her hand and how that might feel. It made her cheeks color slightly at the thought. Following his lead, she walked over to the globe at the table. She was beginning to recall more of her schooling now and things were coming back to her the more he interacted with her. She did not, however, know anything about Ireland, and so was more than happy to listen to him explain a few things about it. When he handed her the book, she took it gently from his hands and looked at the wonderfully green and glorious pictures presented therein. She could imagine herself there, walking through the grass and fields. And for a moment, she placed one hand on the page and closed her eyes really trying to put herself in that place. The breeze blowing, the smell of grass and crisp clean air... The feel of the grass brushing against her feet and legs.... Then she opened her eyes and smiled giving the book back to Jagger after looking at several more pages."I might have to read that book after you! Thank you for telling me about your home. I didn't know anything about it. It's very beautiful."She simply nodded and accepted his answer that he missed his home, but not what he'd left. She didn't fully understand what he meant, and she didn't press the issue. If he wanted to tell her more, he would. Then he went on to tell her what a Sorceress was. A woman with powers and then a Warlock was a man with powers. Okay, she could sort of understand that. When he told her that he could do things with shadows, that made her smile."Oooo!! You can play with shadows and such? That's nothing like Master Ashers powers with air. Master Asher is, well, my Master. He gave me this."She leaned up closer to him to show him the tear of the sky that Asher had created for her with his powers. Her name shone in it and it looked as if the sky were actually encapsulated in the gem. And it was attached to the collar she wore around her neck. His collar."It's called a Tear of the Sky. And this is his collar that he gave to me. I think it's cool that you can manipulate shadows! I used to play with a flashlight in my room late at night when I was young and make finger puppets on the wall! Shadows are neat."She giggled and smiled at him.

((O.ut O.f C.arbohydrates: I just wanted to let you know that I'm sorry to you and to anyone else that's been "following" my character posts on here with this character. She's new, I've never played her before, and so therefore she's still being fleshed out if you will. I've been playing her as way to "dumb". It says in her profile that she didn't get her "abnormality" until she hit her teens and that she was an A+ student. And while I could say that the years of being a slave and such in the black market has dumbed her down, that would be a contradiction to my statement that she loved school as much as she did and misses it. So, without further aduie I shall begin playing her much smarter. Perhaps still as shy and what not. Just not as in the dark. Thank you. *bows*))

Jagger Ridge

Jagger frowned for just a second at Serenity's comment, about how she hoped to meet people like herself so that she wouldn't feel alone. "You're not alone, you know. Just because you're not around people that are like you, doesn't mean you're by yourself. You're in a castle full of people with all different sorts of powers and things that make them stand out. That means there's plenty of people here you can get to know that have been through similar situations as you," he said.

Wow, Jagger almost didn't recognize himself. When was the last time he had said anything like that, to try to make someone feel better? He couldn't remember having ever done so.

Jagger wasn't sure why exactly, but he realized he was disappointed when Serenity told him that she had a master. The Asher person she'd previously mentioned. And showed him the gem that was attached to her collar. Which was actually the first time he'd noticed the collar she wore. The gem with her name on it was pretty, he'd give admit that. However when she told him that the collar was Asher's that he gave her, Jagger had to struggle not to frown. He found it so degrading that this Asher person had gave her a collar to wear, as though she were an. . . well, an animal. Even if she had the cat-like features, and was a 'pet', she was still a person. And Jagger didn't think a person should be wearing a collar.

If this Asher person could make something like the gem, then how come he couldn't have gave Serenity a necklace to wear it on, instead of a collar? Jagger was already wishing the Asher person was around so he could have a little talk with him. Except, Jagger realized with a pang of regret. Even if he met this Asher, he couldn't say anything without risking getting Serenity in trouble. Which was something that Jagger wasn't willing to do.

"It's a very pretty gem," Jagger said. At least that wasn't a lie, he did think the gem was pretty. It was just the collar thing that nagged at him. Well, and he was still disappointed by the fact that she had a master. Despite that though, Jagger did give a light chuckle when Serenity said that she thought being able to manipulate shadows was cool, and explained that when she was younger she use to play with a flashlight and make finger puppets on her wall. "That was sort of how I started to figure out that I could control shadows," he said. "When I was a kid, I didn't have flashlights. Or a any of the. . . modern day conveniences that there are. Things would get pretty boring at night, when everyone went to bed. I would do the little puppets on the wall, then I started to realize that I didn't need to use my hands to make shadows on the wall," he said, giving a light shrug of his shoulders.

Since Serenity had said that she thought shadows were neat, Jagger decided that maybe she would like to see his power. And he also decided that it would be a good way to casually go about what he had to say. He waved his hand at the ground, and a shadow began to slowly form. It started out round, and then began to change and shift into the shape of a fish. He went with a fish because he remembered Serenity liked them. "The gem is very pretty," Jagger began carefully, not looking at Serenity. Instead he was looking at the shadows on the ground, now adding a second one and shaping it to look like a dolphin. "But why did Asher give you a collar to wear it on? Instead of a necklace?" he asked.

OOC: Hey, don't apologize! I find her character very interesting, however you play her. =)

The young mermaid grew more curious by the moment. She had only ever been surrounded by water and the climate she lived in was always warm. From his description the image of a beach popped into her head, only the sandy part though and it stretched on for miles and miles. Even with this image popping into her head Cassie was still paying attention to Nicolai's words. "I don't know, I've always wondered how much of a story is true...how would one differentiate truth from fiction without meeting the person who came up with the story though? Certainly, guesses could be made but..." The female shrugged her shoulders.

Her next question was answered by Picket after the sprite had returned. She smiled at the childlike creature, giggling at his nickname for the werewolf. Cassandra nodded her head at Picket's first sentence. She had wondered how many places they had been to and while 'many, many' was not a definite number it was a good enough answer for the mermaid. "I'm sorry you don't like to get wet. It truly is amazing underwater though, I always love being able to explore new places in the ocean. I suppose part of my love of the water is because of my race though."

His words of comfort made her feel better and her ears perked up when he said that she was in a castle chalked full of others just as unique as her. Apparently Jagger was one of them. Although she didn't like to see him frown. It almost made her want to do anything she possibly could to cheer him up. She smiled when he said that the gem Asher had made for her was pretty. But then she became perplexed when he posed his question asking her why he'd given her a collar to wear it on. She didn't know the answer to that question. But she didn't let it deter her for more than a moment before she spoke up again becoming even more open if not a little excited this time.

"Ooo! The fish and dolphin are so pretty! As for why Master Asher gave me a collar to wear this on, I'm not sure. It's what he chose for me. It was his originally and he crafted the tear of the sky, took off his collar and gave it to me. You've made me feel a lot better about being here Jagger. I'm really glad you were the one that chose to help me! I wonder if Master Asher is awake now. Maybe we could go and see him and I could show him my books?! Oh! And we also have to find that other guy that we said we'd tell him where the library was when we found it."

She smiled at him as her tail flicked happily a few times and she reached down to touch the shadows to see what would happen when she did.

((O.ut O.f C.arbohydrates: I'm phasing out Asher. He's not been on in days and I haven't seen him so, as far as I'm concerned Lucretia, I'm up for grabs. ^_^ lol ))

Jagger Ridge

Jagger glanced over at Serenity when she didn't answer him for a moment, trying to make sure he hadn't hurt her feelings. Since when Jagger had cared about someone's feelings was beyond him, but that was what he was doing. He thought she looked more confused than anything. At least she hadn't taken his question wrong, anyway. When she mentioned the fish and dolphin, Jagger's lips quirked upwards, his version of a smile.

Then she went on to say that she didn't know why Asher had gave her a collar, just that he'd been wearing it himself and then crafted the gem and gave it to her. Jagger raised an eyebrow slightly at that. If Asher had been wearing the collar himself. . . then maybe he hadn't meant it in an insulting way when he'd gave it to Serenity to wear. Still even if he hadn't meant it in that way, Jagger thought it was in poor taste to give someone with cat-like features and was a pet, a collar. For now, however, Jagger decided to drop the subject and move on.

Serenity went on to add that she was glad he was the one that had chose to help her, and Jagger simply blinked at that. For one of the rare times in his life that he was actually caught off guard. And wasn't sure what to say. Granted, Jagger wasn't a talker, but he was never speechless when he had something to say. At the moment, Serenity's comment left him speechless. Maybe it was the fact nobody had actually been glad to be around him. Or the fact that he realized he was glad he had as well, because he was enjoying his time with Jagger. Or maybe. . . no. Jagger refused to let his mind wander in that direction. Instead he just listened as Serenity went on to say that she wondered if this Asher person was awake now, and that maybe they could see him and she could show him her books. Then reminded him that they needed to find that other guy that they had promised to tell about where the library was. Oh right, Jagger had nearly forgotten about him.

When Serenity went to touch the shadows, Jagger waited until her hand was just a couple of inches away from them, and then he made the fish spin around and move, as though it were swimming away, circle Serenity once, and then disappear. As for the dolphin, he had it jump, like it was jumping out of the water, and had it become solid. Only for a second, but so that when it jumped, it would bump against Serenity's hand, like she was petting it, then the dolphin became just a shadow again, before swimming off and disappearing like the fish had. With the shadows gone for the moment, Jagger walked over and picked up the stack of books that Serenity had picked out. "Lead the way, then," he said. She'd said she was wondering if Asher were awake, so she could show him her books, and Jagger had promised to help her with her books, but he didn't know where she wanted to go so he waited for her to lead the way.

OOC: Lol, I shall pass the message along to Jagger. x)

Serenity watched his face again and was pleased to see a slight smile come to his lips when she spoke of his shadow fish. Giggling in delight as the fish swam around her, she spun with it and then watched it disappear before she turned her attention to the dolphin that touched her hand. At this she let out another happy giggle and smiled brightly at the fact that it was solid and she was touching it. It too then vanished. She then saw him pick up her books and look at her asking her to lead the way to her room. She was more than happy to oblige, and went and picked up the book on fish, then turning her head back to look at him, smiled and began walking to the doors that would lead them out of the library and back towards her room.

"I'd be more than happy to Jagger!"

A petite girl, wearing some revealing clothing and oversize cape ran into the library and her expression depicted pure fear. She ran to the back of the library and looked around wildly until she relaxed suddenly. Rabbit ears on her hood perked up, revealing that there were indeed rabbit ears beneath the fabric and they weren't just for decoration. They were actually part of her; she was the rabbit girl, Lucy Rabbit. She had been cautiously exploring this castle, after she had gathered up enough courage to wander about this intimidating place. Lucy was standing in a dark room, looking around when she had seen a monster creep out (it was a shadow of something) which scared the living daylights out of her. She ran for dear life, after all, Lucy has a mild case of schizophrenia... and paranoia.

The only safe sanctuary Lucy had discovered, or rather the only place she was brave enough to venture was the library. It was a quiet room, filled with shelves upon shelves with books, and nobody really went there; those who did were not scary, most of the time. Lucy sat herself down on one of the large chairs, and brought her knees to her chest. She curled up into a ball and simply stared at the entrance, in case the monster appeared again...

Never say that you think you've been through it all,
Never say that you think you've seen it all,
Never say that life can't get any worse

Lucian grumbled to himself as he walked down the hallway. It wasn't his fault Tajmina was easily scared. He hadn't even been angry at her. No, it was that idiot Lucifer. Alright, so granted he hadn't actually done anything, but Lucian didn't care. He was the son of his former boss. The boss that had kicked Lucian out and left him stuck here on Earth after eons of service over one stupid little incident. Lucian now hated his former boss with a passion, and that hatred extended out to his son as well. Continuing to grumbled under his breath, Lucian made his way down the hallway until he reached a room. The room, as it turned out, was the library. Lucian didn't read. In fact, he hated just the thought of it. Lucian was not a patience man, and most certainly didn't have the patience to actually sit down and read anything.

However, he spotted a couch in the room, And at first glance, he didn't see anyone else there. Wanting a moment to himself, Lucian walked in and over to one of the couches, dropping down onto it. He closed his eyes, leaning his head back against the back of the couch and rubbed his tempers. The headache was still throbbing, but his anger was slowly deflating now that he was away from him. Though Tajmina's reaction was causing the headache to stick around.

He sat there for a moment, before dropping his hand and raising his head again. Which was when he saw that there was another person in the room he hadn't noticed before. A girl in one of the chairs. Lucian sighed and held back a groan. Great. If this one acted like the last girl he'd been around, his headache would never go away.

Upon closer look, Lucian noticed. . . what was that? Rabbit ears? Shaking his head and realizing that he just didn't really care what she was. "You're not going to lapse into another language or something, are you?" he grumbled. In hindsight he realized that wouldn't make any sense to her. After all, how would it? He was thinking of Tajmina and how she'd started rapidly speaking in her native language, and this girl hadn't been there to see it. However Lucian really didn't care enough to bother to explain what he meant.

Lucy continued to watch the entrance but nothing came. She was completely alone in the library, alone with the books which was a comforting thought. This was one of the only places she felt relatively calm and her room also. After that, Lucy was scared of pretty much every other place because she had seen many monsters there (or she thought she did). In all reality, it had always been her own shadow she had seen or another person that was hidden by the dim light. Lucy had a tendency to find herself in scary rooms for some reason, given her jumpy nature. One would think she would shy away from such places.

After some time, another person wandered into the library, a tall, dark, scary looking male. Lucy's eyes widened slightly as she shrunk back as he stalked towards the sofas. He looked angry, very angry. She bit her lip and remained completely still, making no attempt to move, even breath. The man simply sat down on the couch and that seemed to be it, so Lucy figured she better get out of here; he didn't seem to notice her yet. However, that small hope was crushed when the man spoke to her. Lucy froze and stared at him with wide eyes. After another moment, frozen in fear, she shook her head in response. Lucy didn't know another language, but that was good since this man seemed to get pissed off at the idea of that...

Lucian watched as the rabbit girl seemed to freeze, just staring at him, before she finally shook her head no. Lucian sighed, scrubbing his hand over his face and taking in a few deep breaths. His temper was deflating pretty fast, now that he was away from the son of the person Lucian hated the most. And. . . even as annoying as Lucian could be, there was something tugging at him at the moment. First Tajmina, and now rabbit girl. Both of them were acting scared to death of him.

Lucian wouldn't lie. He use to enjoy that. He loved being unhappy, and having people be afraid of him. But usually it was men that Lucian fought with. Actually, come to think of, Lucian had yelled at girls, but he'd never actually hurt one. Nor did he really think he ever could. Especially the longer he was here on Earth, all of those human feelings or whatever were starting to wear off on him. Being in the underworld was easier, there was no feelings or pesky human emotions. Every since he'd gotten kicked out, Lucian had started to feel that nagging guilt. Which really, was about to drive him up the wall.

After a moment or two passed, Lucian lowered his hand and looked at the girl again. "Would you stop giving me that look, please? I'm not going to hurt you," he grumbled. But while he grumbled, he kept from snapping at her. Lucian was almost completely incapable of being nice. . . but he was going to try to force himself not to give the girl a heart attack by losing his temper. Especially since at the moment she hadn't actually done anything yet.

"What's your name?" he asked.
