Yin really did not understand why Alexander was laughing about his own questions. He waited for the zomboil to let him get a word in edgewise. "Of course you are welcome to stay here, my door is always open for you. I am afraid that I will not be much company though." It seemed slightly odd to him that the zomboil would not wish to go back to his own room where he would probably have something to do, but he was not just going to kick him out. Especially after he had described what he would be doing. Nothing.

He glanced around the room until he found what he was looking for. "Usually I read for a little while before bed, but I am afraid there are few options for reading. Normally I would just read some more of the book on Halloween, but if you would like to stay we could always read A Christmas Nightmare instead?" He might have actually sounded a touch hopeful at the idea of Alexander staying to read, it was not something that he normally loved to do after all, and he did not feel too self-conscious about reading in front of the zomboil as he already knew how bad that Yin was at it. And Yin was actually getting better. But reading with Alexander? that was much more interesting.

So Alex could stay the night if he wanted. It was...interesting to know, anyways. But as he looked around the room again, he knew that it wasn't exactly practical for him to remain when the most he could do is sit in a corner on the floor and watch Yin sleep all night. As tempting as that was...no, he should probably leave. And buy Yin some chairs. That was totally happening at some point. Oh and maybe he could bring a stack of books over for some light reading as well. These were all plans he was making in his head for next time. It was weird that he could think about future things like this, make plans, knowing that he and Yin were now hopefully heading in a new direction together. Knowing that there would definitely be a next time to plan for. It was nice.

"I won't stay the night, but I'll stay as long as you plan on being awake for." He decided. "So just let me know when you want to walk me back to my dorm, ok?" He smiled, then listened to the rest of what Yin had to say, following the weremantis's gaze. His face lit up at the prospect of getting to read his favorite childhood book with Yin again. He could read that book a million times with the weremantis if that's what the other boil wanted, and never get tired of it.

"If we have time then yes, I'd really like to read it with you again." He grinned. "But if not then we can shelve it for..tomorrow?" He said, a touch hopeful himself.

That decision made sense and the mantodae nodded. "After the book then," he decided, going to carefully get the book out. He handled it with care, taking it back to the bed with him and sitting down before patting the bed to him, inviting the zomboil to sit. He waited for Alexander to be seated before opening up to the first page, leaning over slightly to make sure that the book was clearly visible to them both. "If you do not mind I will read the first part again and then you can finish the book."

He sat there in comfort, reading. He stumbled over words, several words, but now that he had seen some of these words it was not nearly as painful to wade through them. Another time or two and he might actually read a full page with no complications. He could have read longer, they were not even halfway through the book, when he began to shift it over to Alexander. "Would you mind reading now?" He just wanted to listen to him read it. It was odd, but had he always wanted to just listen to the zomboil talk? He did not remember being like this but it was fine, he could make these sorts of requests now. Probably.

He hoped that the zomboil took his time too. He was starting to be forced to acknowledge his exhaustion, but right now he just wanted to try to drag this day out as long as he could. Tomorrow they would still be together, and things should not have changed, but what if they had? He wanted to be happy today, happy enough to sustain him even if things did not go as planned, but now was not the time to focus on that. He just wanted to create as many memories as he could.

Alex waited until Yin had the book and was sitting on the bed before sitting and scooting in next to him, one hand placed on the bed behind and to the further side of the weremantis so that that he was leaning in quite close to the other boil, but not to the point of being completely pressed up against him. Yin was leaning towards him as well, and it was hard for Alex not to just rest his head on Yin's shoulder as he listened to the weremantis reading the scarelings book once again, just as they had done in Alex's bedroom back at his families home.

When the weremantis had finished and was asking Alex if he wouldn't mind reading now, he nodded with a smile, reaching up to brush the hair out of his eyes before sliding the book closer to himself and picking up where Yin left off. He found himself not wanting to ever be finished reading, because once he was done, he would have to leave, and that would take them one step closer to this night ending and Alex having to spend the rest of the evening alone in his room, with only his pets to keep him company.

Even though he tried to drag it out, however, the end came sooner then Alex might have liked. A glance at Yin's face showed him just how tired the mantodae looked, however, and Alex felt a small pang of guilt for being so selfish and taking his time reading just so he wouldn't have to leave when Yin obviously needed to get some rest. He slowly closed the book and held it back towards Yin, waiting for the other boil to take it before pushing himself off of the bed and to his feet. He flashed Yin a large smile, shoving his hands into his pockets. "So I guess it's time for me to go now." he said, with just a touch of sadness in his voice.

As Alexander read Yin found himself fighting to keep his eyes open. He was fully enjoying the story, and a few things stood out that he had seemed to have forgotten the first time they had read it, but he was also completely at ease. The book being passed to him forced him to acknowledge that the night was almost over, and quite honestly it was probably about time. He took the book from Alexander, laying it carefully on the bed next to him before standing and stretching, the movement helping him to wake up as he rubbed at his neck.

"Indeed." He glanced over to Princess Eva, his delicate little rabo who was the apple of his eye and had completely captured his heart. "Would you like to go on a walk?" She raised her head and looked at him before laying it back down. It was too late for a walk, and her boil could take care of himself. "Well as Princess Eva wishes to stay I suppose it will just be the two of us walking back to your dorm." He smiled up at the zomboil before heading to the door. Always opening doors. Always.

Alex made his way to the door, hands still in pockets as he shuffled along. He felt pretty badly that this was likely going to be a long walk for Yin, having to keep pace with a slow zombie. With his left hand, he could feel the pin that Yin had given him, nestled in his pocket. That was reassuring, and he would have to remember to take it out when he got back to his room and put it someplace safe.

He went through the door and began making his way down the hallway, taking all of the appropriate turns and climbing down the stairs when it was time to do so. For the most part he just walked in silence with the other boil, content to just be in his company. However, once they were outside, and Alex was finding his amazing evening was coming ever closer to it's conclusion, he found himself wanting to ask Yin things. Some of the things he wanted to ask, however, were awkward and he wasn't sure if he should ask, as he might not like the answer. He decided to just keep those ones to himself, for now, and instead said.

"Would you mind if I came to watch you train in the gym in the mornings? Before I go to class?"

Walking through the hallways with Alexander was easy. He was tired enough that he was not inclined to rush, though they were still not going as fast as he could. The silence was not awkward, and they made it outside soon enough. He looked up at Alexander as he asked him if he could watch him train. It was an odd request really, but maybe it held some significance to the zomboil. "Of course you may, though I do not know if it will be useful to you or not."

They were headed down the path, and he felt as though he should say something more. But what did one even do relationship wise? Then he remembered Halloween High. To gain hearts Alexander had suggested that Jack should have made plans for later. Perhaps that was what Alexander had been trying. "And perhaps we could meet for lunch?" he questioned, slightly hopeful. Was this the correct way to act?

It didn't have to be useful, Alex just wanted to be able to see Yin first thing in the morning. It may have been selfish, but that was the truth of it. "As long as you don't mind. I don't want to distract you or anything." He replied, pretty much confirming that as long as Yin didn't say he couldn't, Alex would be there.

They continued their way along, and Alex was feeling blissfully content. He was about to open his mouth and say something about what a nice night it was, though the air was fairly cool so perhaps it wasn't so nice for the weremantis. Yin said something before he could even comment though, and instead his eyes lit up with the surprise of Yin asking if they could maybe meet for lunch.

"Of course." He grinned happily, "I'd like that a lot. You'll meet me in the cafeteria or did you want to go somewhere else?" He supposed they could hunt for food, but Alex generally only did that at night when he was bored and had nothing better to do with his time. He also knew that his approach hunting and Yin's were very, very different.

That seemed to have been the correct route to take, as Alexander sounded agreeable to the idea. "The cafeteria would be preferable, and if anything changes you can let me know in the morning." He watched as the Undead dormitory began to loom in front of them. Ordinarily walking with Alexander seemed to take forever to get...well, anywhere, but tonight the walk had seemed almost too short. He decided to take it as a good sign as they neared the entrance to the dorm.

He stopped at the door and turned to look up at the zomboil. "I am sorry that I cannot stay up all night as you do Alexander, but I look forward to seeing you in the morning." He was not really sure of what else to say, or do. He had never fully learned all of the delicacies of interacting with one's bonded, nor did he know what Alexander might expect from him. Especially considering that the zomboil seemed to enjoy physical assurances. But even thinking about it he just felt awkward and embarrassed. "Good night Alexander." Oh, maybe he should be opening the door for Alexander? He reached for the door, determined to at least do one last thing for his bonded.

"Sounds good." He agreed, a little relieved that it would just be the cafeteria they would meet in and not to go hunting or for a trip into town which would have been far more work and after such a stressful week, Alex was just ready to relax.

Alexander looked down at Yin as they stopped at the door. This was it, the night that was changing everything was actually ending now. He gripped the badge still sitting in his pocket tight, a reminder that things weren't ending, but just beginning. "I wish I could sleep, then morning might seem to come faster." He replied with a soft smile.

He wished he knew what was allowed and what wasn't, as he wanted so badly to just....have some kind of physical contact right now. It was frustrating, not knowing what to do. He opted to be safe and not do anything at all, this time at least, and just continued to smile while saying "Goodnight, Yǐn Cáng." to the mantodae in return, and backing slowly through the now opened door. Any and all feelings he held for Yin were laid bare in his eyes, if Yin had chose to see them, anyways, and he was content to let the weremantis get back to his dorm to get some sleep. He extracted a hand from his pocket, the one not holding the badge, and gave Yin a small wave before turning and shuffling away into his dorms.

Morning really couldn't come soon enough.

When Alexander said his full name he really could have gotten away with quite a bit of touching. Probably not only a shoulder or hand squeeze but a full one-armed hug. He almost initiated the contact himself at that point but merely met his eyes, seeing something there that he did not quite understand, and waved back as the zomboil entered the dormitory.

He shut the door carefully and turned away, striding back to the monster doors far more quickly than he had left. And mind completely abuzz as he replayed the evening over in his mind. And then over again. The one positive part side to being completely and utterly exhausted was that when he got back to his room he managed to pass out rather quickly, a look of other content on his face.

Princess Eva was a perfect cuddle-buddy.
