Ifan examined the stall, the owner seemed to be cooking some snacks. Deep frying them in oil.
"Excuse me? Do you have a barrel of oil you'd be willing to sell?" He asked, knowing it would probably cost him. He could not imagine there was a lot of the stuff around.

The owner looked up and raised an eyebrow, that was not a question he was asked often, or ever.
"Um, I do have another barrel, but it's all I've got."

Ifan breathed in and reached up to take his saint medalion off.
"I could give you this. It's gold."

The older man looked at it and smirked a little.
"Not got much value these days, gold. People want things they can use."

The dragon spoke up, stepping closer from where he'd been standing at Ifan and the shop owner had talked. One slender hand reached into the fold of his tunic, pulling out the bottle he had been feeling at the spring when Ifan had walked toward him. It was a large glass bottle, filled nearly to the brim, and corked carefully.

It was always a little hit or miss, weither or not mortals understood the value of the crystal clear water. Most had forgotten, in the long Ages that had known no gods. It was their duty to teach the mortals once more.

And it was certainly within his own duty to provide toward their well-being.

"This water is the purest you will ever find." He said, certain of his claim. "A single drop will leave you invigorated in a way you will likely have never felt before." Spin in that way, the flaws in the dragon's bartering was evident - that bottle would last much longer than the barrel of oil would, should the mortal know the use it carefully.

And the uses were, of course, endless. "Through there is no need to take my word for it. If you have a glass nearby, I can prove my claims." Really, he had no idea if he was being recognized as what he was. Most mortal did easily guess he was a god, thanks to his outlandish physical form.

The stall owner had a suspicion that he might well be a god. They often ventured into the market, or their servants.
He looked at the bottle. Life water? That would certainly be useful. Many were worn out by their survival, some were still sick and weak after plague. If this could invigorate them then that would be a very good thing.

"I have a glass." He reached for a cup he had been drinking from earlier. He held it out to the god. He trusted him ... mostly, though he supposed you could never be too safe.

He wasn't sure if that was even possible, but mortals could be fragile. Better to be careful until he knew - or remembered - exactly what the water could truly do in innate detail. Through, with being so new in rebirth it likely was not even an issue.

The man looked down at the water and smiled as he lifted it to his lips. It felt cooler than he imagined water that had been carried around would. He drank it down and placed the glass on the side. It did not take long to work. There would be no visible effects but he felt something. Energy, he had been up since the early morning and had been beginning to flag. Now he felt like he could keep going till evening. He felt refreshed too, healtheir. They were subtle changes but enough to sell him on the product.
"Done." he said with a grin. "The barrel is round the back. I'll get it."

It would be easy to get more, but he didn't want to walk all the way back just to do that. After his half of the trade was done, he looked sideways at Ifan. "Will you be able to carry that ?"

He might be able to do so if the mortal wasn't. Illisia had been stronger than most would have expected.

Ifan looked at the barrel as the man carried it out and set it down.
"Yeah, should be able to." ifan smirked and crouched to heave it up into his arms. "I'm strong lad. Thank you very much Xun, I owe you." He smirked a little. That was two gods he was in debt to now.

And then, he started to lead the way back.
