"Maybe they're not coming..."

The rather timid cleric muttered to herself as a trembling hand straightened out a wrinkle on her skirt, only for another to take its place. That was the trouble with something extravagant like this, you tended to second guess yourself while you were wearing it. Indeed, it was the only really luxurious dress that she owned and reserved for special occasions. It's singularity was enough to drive her into an extra-critical fit of neurotic behavior. Her outfit had been something that she had scanned over and over again, decorating the hat to stand out slightly in hopes that she wouldn't be passed over.

"Maybe they're just late!"

Certainly that would have to be it, right? They wouldn't just look over from across the lane and just continue on their merry way...Right? It had been some time since the announcement, something that crept underneath her skin and worried her further. But then again, it was something that she had expected going in...

"They're not coming..."

Ewan

"Oh man, I better hurry up!"

Just like the opening of one of my god-awfully dubbed "Japanese Animes", the Sage bolted down the streets without giving much thought or caution in his actions. People were narrowly avoided, objects hurdled onto and off to make it on time. Sure, they had the whole day ahead of them, but this was certainly not the way to make a first impression! Ewan was new to this whole place, and certainly new to the people. His first formal outing had to be met with "a fine air of grace and dignity", or at least that's what Saleh usually told him. He might have sorta, kinda...stopped listening completely and activated his DAY-DREAM-EWAN mode.

...Completely worth it. Those dream skeletons never saw that Elfire coming. Heheh...

Wait, what the hell was he doing again? Oh! That's right! Joshua had pushed him toward the Valentine's Event that had started up lately, which Ewan certainly couldn't refuse. How could he? There was so much red to go around, it was awesome! Besides, new boy on this side of the multi-verse, might as well spend it with a pretty girl. Better than spending it pining for chocolate from Master Saleh as he usually did.

...He really needed to get out more.

"Lady Myrrh?"

His thoughts came to a horrific crashing stop, leaving quite the carnage and mayhem in this think tank. Seriously, an lesser mind would have just ended up as a vegetable. But his! Oh no, certainly not...uh...what were we doing again? Oh! Right! What in the world was she doing out in town on a day like this? So this was where she had wondered off to...It was probably safe to assume that anyone that had fallen out of contact was located here. ...Hopefully. Wait a second...

That was an arrow. That was a heart-shaped arrow. Now that was something else! One just like the nice one he had been handed out, but a bit more polished and less bruised. Oops. Wait a second...Same as his?

"You're my
date?"

D'Rias
Location: Eyris

Good. It was exactly the answer D'Rias had been looking for. Judging by the construction and vehement recruitment by the army and city guard it was easy to tell there had been a battle recently. More than that though it was the simple sight of so many soldiers around the city even when not armed or armored their tired eyes and aged expressions made them easy enough to spot. The last thing he needed was to be embroiled in yet another useless conflict and the first step to that goal was learning who was fighting and why. He looked at the man in front of him, a noble by his looks and speech, and nodded.

“Certainly, lead the way.”

As Lance watched the scene unfold, he raised an eyebrow before sighing in disappointment. He turned around and went home, as he had more important stuff to do than this crap.

Marina - 1; Annis - negative infinity.

"What the s**t is this?" Marina murmured, peering through the silver monocle she had been given. "Is this a date or a ******** scavenger hunt?"

Whatever. Annis had made a dare with her. They'd both do this dumb blind date thing and see who had the worse date. But Annis had bailed on her, citing some bullshit reason like "fixing things with Loch and visiting people in the hospital." For anyone keeping track, that meant Marina had totally won their dare. All the guys around here seemed kind of repellant, anyway. No one had ever really gotten her attention. Not to mention, there had been a lot of dumbasses joining the ranks recently. But who knew? Maybe she'd get some big hunk who'd have to drag her around all day. She could only hope!

"Whatever. I'm not wearing this ******** thing." She coiled the chain around her fingers and set out towards the city library. She had to consult a map to find it, because, seriously, who goes to the library anymore? Loch, that's who. Loch and nobody else.

It took her a bit, but she finally found the place. Hey, was her date the weird cloaked one? He seemed kind of small but whatever. He had a monocle also dangling from his fine, acutely pointed fingers, so Marina deduced that he must be the one. She sauntered over!

"Hey, sexy."

Ah, so he was Alihi's brother. Twin for that matter. "Yes, yes, I am familiar with both Alihi and Amara. How are they? Its been a while since I talked to Alihi." Its been nearly a year since he last saw her face anyways. When was the last time Amara even tackled him? Far too long..Ephraim obviously didn't remember. He had to obviously remember that he was on a date with Akihi, not his sister, so talking about his family members would probably be a little innappropriate. "Ah, my apologies." tipping his hat backwards a little bit.

A thought suddenly occured to him and he pulled off the hat, twirling it in between his fingers. "No rules said we had to wear this for our entire date now did they? What's say we just carry these ridiculous hats?" Akihi suddenly mentioned that this was his first time on a date like this. Quite frankly, this was Ephraim's first time too. Anything he wanted to do, nothing in particular, but perhaps they could start with some grub..or tea for that matter. "Hm, well, its still early during the day and I'm pretty sure neither of us has eaten. "Shall we see if there are any places that suit our taste?"

Ephraim scanned the area a bit and realized that the Hostess club was near. Why not grab something there since its pretty close. "Hostess club is quite near. Shall we?" Offering a hand to guide him to the restaurant. Admittingly, Akihi was a little cute considering he was shy and all.

"Well," She paused, "I've never really seen anyone like you before. You look, like you could be a good friend . As for what I like to do I like to train and..." Clara had paused to think and frowned, "...All I do is eat, sleep, and train ever since my boyfriend broke up with me. Guess I'm a little bit sad of a person."

She then looked at the arrow with confusion. "What to do with this now? I can't exactly store this anywhere and I don't want to accidentally poke someone with this. Hmmm..."

Wallace
Wallace had creepily been watching his 'date' talk nervously to some girl while sipping a cup of Earl Grey tea. "Hmm... kinda small looking guy. I could probably whip him into shape." At that he stood up and walked toward where his 'date' and the girl he obviously had feelings for were standing. "You with the wooden sword! C'mere! According to this Valentines day get together we're supposed to spend the day together. We're going to do my favorite activity. Training! Now say goodbye to this girl you've been ogling as a knight would and promise her you'll get back to her later." With that he started walking off towards the guard barracks, not waiting for Abel to catch up.

Tiki shyly looked off to the side at Clara's initial compliment. She chuckled happily. This was working out really well so far!

She thought to herself for a moment. "Training... Like battle training?" Tiki didn't want to do any of that, and hoped Clara wasn't looking to train with Tiki.
"Well, I'm still getting to know Eyris. I'm still pretty new here, after all. I don't know many places we can go or things we can do, but I've always loved walking through market and seeing the people who go there, and all the things they have to look at." Peacetime things. Best to enjoy them while you could!

Tiki's thoughts then drifted to Clara herself. She had... broken up with a boyfriend?

"I'm really sorry about your boyfriend... But today, I'll find something to make you happy." Tiki didn't know what that was yet, but she was going to try and find out. It's what friends did, right?

I guess this was a good place to start.

Tiki looked at her arrow too. "It is a little sharp..." She didn't have a problem with hers, but it was a little unwieldy. "Maybe we could drop them off at the host club. Or put them away where you live."

"How odd," a voice in Lance's head commented. "I didn't think you'd give up on rescuing a cute girl so fast."

As the feline laguz stood impatiently near the library entrance, she was approached by a beorc woman. Lethe raised an irritated eyebrow at the greeting. What an inappropriate hello to a complete stranger. "Excuse me," she hissed.

Suddenly a shimmer from the woman's hand caught Lethe's attention. The chain of an identical trinket was wrapped around her fingers. "You have got to be kidding me," she thought annoyed with this arranged date.

Oh, no, he sounded annoyed! Perhaps she was coming on too strong. Marina, you're really bad at that! She sighed, "Whoops, sorry. It's this ******** date thing. I didn't really want to do it in the first place, and the only reason I am doing it is because an associate of mine had a dare with me, and she ******** bailed, and here I am, not having fun with this damn thing at all.

She paused, looking the cloaked figure over further. The veil gave no real clues as to his identity. "I don't recognize you. If you were someone I talked to, I'd know you." She smiled a wry smile. "I'm gonna try to enjoy myself with this, at least. Tibarn gave me the day off. Name's Marina. Yours?"

Lethe's ears twitched underneath the hood when Marina mentioned Tibarn's name. Although the ex-Gallian captain could sympathize with being forced into this, she didn't particularly care about the dare part. "You work for the Hawk King? I didn't know he hired a beorc like you."

The small talk helped her open up slightly. The cat pulled back her hood to reveal herself. "We've never spoken, to my knowledge. My name is Lethe," she replied.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 23, 2012 9:25 pm

"Well, yeah, of course he hired a beorc like me. I'm good. I mean, some a*****e stabbed me in the leg during our last fight and I've been limping a little since, but I'm still one of the best aro--"

The hood was dropped. Her date was a laguz.

Her date was a girl.

"What?" Marina blinked once. She looked around and then back to the girl. "What?" She blinked twice. "You're ******** with me, right? Someone else-- no, wait, no, that's the ******** monocle-- wait, what, seriously?"

SIGH. "I guess you're my date. Does that mean we have to make out now? Wait, that was a joke. I am gonna ******** kill Annis."

Abel Fallon

Abel smiled back, but then donned a more down to earth look when she mentioned that they needed to talk. Talking; possibly the bane on his existence. He was always more of a person for action. But he knew a talk was exactly what they needed to have. Since he hadn't even seen Alihi in such a while, in this case Abel welcomed a talk.

"Yeah... yeah, I am." He rubbed the back of his head. "Did uh... did Akihi tell you about the group I formed? Nothing big, just enough to be flexible. Like my brother's..." He grinned nostalgically for a moment before continuing. "Ever since Arajudia, it's been just a bunch of smaller jobs, really. Escorting, protection, delivering... but mostly, we're just working on our teamwork. I uh... I want us to be ready." He glanced away. "For when we join the war." He looked back at her. "I don't know exactly when that will be. I'm still trying to get in touch with Rath so I can get him to hire me. So until then... I don't really have anything going on."

Abel looked around awkwardly, overlooking any person that could have had a wooden sword to match his. "Boy, these dates of ours sure are taking a while getting here..."

Oh, this was a bad idea. This was such a bad idea. Why hadn't she just taken her rose from Ganon and slipped away and back home when she had the chance? She fidgeted in front of the Watch house, staring at the rose pinned to her dress before clasping her hands behind her back. How long have I been standing here? I don't have a watch, I can't-- what if they just forgot? Did they stand me up? Am I just going to be standing here like an idiot waiting for no one? Blossom stared at the ground, biting her lower lip. Why did Ganon think this was a good idea, again...?

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. She let out a sigh, sitting down on the bench near the street. The Hero rested her forearms against her legs, leaning forward slightly to do so, with her hands dangling loosely in front of her knees. But if I leave now, and they do show up, then I'm no better than someone who skips out on their date. I'll be disappointing someone else. So I can't leave. I have to stick around.

Blossom looked up at the sky, trying to figure out how much time had passed, then back at the street. She couldn't see anyone with a rose approaching. Tears welled up in her blue-grey eyes, and she rubbed them away with her white sleeve. This was such a stupid idea. She probably wasn't anyone's idea of a good date, anyway. Why would I be? I'm short, I'm not attractive, I was widowed less than a year ago... Blossom sniffed hard and rubbed again. She pushed her hair off of her face, scanning the streets again before resuming her resting position with her forearms on her legs. Just... wait for whoever she was put with.

They'd show up eventually.

...Right?

Dietrich yawned, scratching his head. It had been a long night for him, and only his grandmother's insistence had sent him along to participate in this game. She seemed to think he needed social interaction outside of work, but he knew what was really on her mind:

Great-grandbabies.

... Maybe not. The Isaacian shrugged, rolling his shoulders, and then reached up to rub his upper arm. This was not the uncoordinated, drunken Dietrich everyone had come to know. Since his imprisonment, under the watchful eye (well, not in Needles' case) of his superiors and grandmother, he'd been sober, and was finally putting himself into his training. He'd come back ravenous, and never lost his appetite between hours of training and longer hours of field missions, helping to rebuild outlying communities or fend off opportunistic bandits. He'd put on weight-- the Fighter was finally growing into his frame, shoulders and biceps bunching up into the proper muscles of an axe wielder.

So there he was, wearing his slightly-nicer-than-his-other-shirt, with his hair mostly combed, holding a white rose as he meandered over to the watch house.

"... Oh, hey! Fancy meetin' you here, O Giantess." He grinned; insulting though it might sound, he didn't mean it nastily. It was just a playful, somewhat inevitable tradition for someone that short in the guard to get an ironic nickname. "That, uh. That's a, uh, neat flower you got, there," he added after a moment of looking her over. "Sorta, uh. Like this... one."

The horrifically awkward memory of the previous year-- what he could remember of it, in any case-- came drifting back.

Welp.
