Skully continued to inch his way along the ground, his tail twitching more wildly the closer he got to his target. She was so pretty, with all her fluffy tails and her pink ribbon. And she had spoken to him! She told him what her name was! She wanted him to call her Princess, and that was fine with him. As he made his way towards the small grouping, however, she seemed to be trying to ignore him, though he barely noticed. What he did notice was another pet standing in front of his new Princess to tell him some strange words he didn't quite understand. See-se? Dee-sist? What were these things? He pushed himself up from the ground the teeniest bit to stare at the strange male creature that said these things and lolled his tongue out as though in happy amusement before creeping forward slowly a little more. If he was currently in any danger he was completely and utterly oblivious to the fact. SN: Seussi

The Night Phoenix had more or less been placed here so Lilith could go find Bartholomew but it really hadn't been necessary. The bird was more than capable of taking care of itself but the thought had not gone unnoticed. Even in the silence that revolved around it being placed here, it understood its unspoken instructions that were given with nothing more than a look. It was a look it knew all too well and it merely fluffed its feathers in exchange to say it understood. It would behave... only as much as Lilith did.
The bird stood proud, rising its wings contently in the air. These creatures seemed boring, and it didn't recognize any of them as friend or foe. It did recognize one as crazy though, but that was because it reminded it a little too well of something Lilith had far too many of: follyjoxes. It kept its glowing eyes on the black creature carefully. It was different but it screamed "I'm a follyjox!" to the bird.
"You're a follyjox, are you not?" It inquired politely with pride. A follyjox mutant seemed more correct, something Lilith would absolutely adore, but it still seemed to fall under the category.

Dormin looked up at the strangely enchanting blue-and-slightly-amorphous bird that had made the inquiry, her voice sweet to his....non existant-to-the-eye ears, making a sort of pleased thrumming noise in turn as the Night Phoenix spoke to him.
"A type of, yes. Follossus would be the more proper term, we believe. That is what the Calamitas calls all of us. Her Follossus." he answered, stretching out before he sat up again, then rose to pace around the avian minipet with a sort of fascination.

The Night Phoenix was utterly pleased when it was proven correct, flapping its wings out, allowing the translucent branches on its wings to reach out as it seemingly mimicked the happiness the creature felt. Bright eyes gazed upon the black body of its new acquaintance curiosity, taking in the features of the darker creature. Would it also adore Lilith as all her adopted pets do?
"How fascinating, I am pleased to be able to meet you." Lilith would have been ecstatic, that much the Night Phoenix knew, being able to meet such a creature as the Follossus. "The reaper with short indigo hair who left me here would be absolutely delighted to meet you."
There was a pause, realization setting in. The Night Phoenix was acting rudely! It had not introduced itself yet.
"I am the Night Phoenix," it stated clearly. Not a particular one of a species but the only one there was. It was a lonely existence by some standards but the bird seemed content with it despite any unfortunate realities. "May I be so bold to request your name?"

"We came with my Calamitas.." Dormin answered, balancing up on his hind legs to nod in the direction of the tall student sitting at one of the mixer tables - a Colossus. "We are sure if yours met mine, she would meet the rest of us. We are all a..herd..of sorts." he explained.
Still, the Night Phoenix seemed to earn some small interest from Dormin who regarded her curiously. Perhaps it was the colors. "To request our name is not bold, Night Phoenix. We are called Dormin."SN: Pachurz

The Night Phoenix turned its beak appropriately to take a gander in the direction the Follossus, trying to eye the particular student he was referring to. The tall one over there? It was the one that stood out the best, that was for sure. The Night Phoenix wasn't certain but it didn't look like it was the other one. No no, the Night Phoenix had decided its first guess was correct and lowered its wings, tucking them around each side carefully.
"A herd, the Dormin was it? How fascinating indeed. Would you be so generous to tell me more about it? More about yourself?" The Night Phoenix was certain that Lilith would be quite engulfed with such an idea (especially after the Floresctivial florejox incident). It gave the bird an idea: I shall intervene in her plans in the near future so all of your paths cross favorably.

Something was staring at her in the most uncomfortable of ways. Kari's dull awareness of the eyes fixated on her was beginning to unsettle her, and it showed - she shifted from side to side, trying to catch whatever it was in her peripheral vision. No way in Thackery's Hades was she willing to turn around and actually look it in the eye. She did, however, offer a coy smile to the dapper Ringleader. He appeared to be a cat with all of his priorities in the proper order. And just look at that tophat... But the squirrel ultimately stole her attention again, showering her with compliments like a lovely October rain. She might have giggled at his flattery were she not more ladylike than that. How brave and valiant he was, keeping the more terrible species at bay. She watched with bated breath as he confronted the creepy starer. Was it missing part of its brain? She was sure that the persistent Poms was - she could see it visibly missing. "Do be careful," she offered, realizing with a tug of regret that she still hadn't asked his name. As the Poms pressed closer, she leaned towards Eva, speaking in a hushed whisper. "I fear it would eat us, were it intelligent enough to know how to do so." nothingyet <3

"There are five of us; Ourselves, Yorda, Darus, Pragma, and Umbrae. Our Calamitas is quite fond of such odd names as that." he seemed proud of the Colossus he called his own, even if she had left him in a strenge pen.
But the company wasn't bad, at least.
"The Calamitas says we five each represent a form the Follossus can take, and treats us all gently. We live in a room of wide spaces and walkways along the ceilings and walls to cross. It is quite pleasant when the Calamitas will take up the floor at night and we need to cross to the opposite side for some purpose."
He mulled over what else he could say.
"Yorda is mother, Darus likes to run away, Pragma enjoys trying to scale the Calamitas, and Umbrae likes to tail Yorda."SN: Pachurz

Five of them? If only Lilith had such self control. Lilith would have five, and then the next day she'd add another five, and then by the time a week rolled around she'd have thirty-five and then after a month she'd have almost a hundred and fifty of them. It wouldn't have been as bad if she hadn't seen all those poor, abandoned florejox during the festival... but she did and now she could probably take over a portion of the academy with them.
"That sounds pleasant. If I was unfortunate enough to have to walk, I'd have been crushed a long time ago." Sadly, the Night Phoenix wasn't exaggerating even in the least. It really hoped that Lilith never thought to expand her room up into the high ceilings of the tower dorm room she stayed in because that was the only safe place from the follyjoxes other than being Lilith herself.
The descriptions of of each of its herd was interesting, and the bird found Pragma to be similiar to exactly what the Night Phoenix envisioned all follyjoxes to be like. It was unfamiliar with a mother, never having one itself, but it remembered Lilith's mother (if you could call her that) and it wasn't exactly a title it looked at very fondly.
"Is a mother a good thing?"

Merel remained perched on the edge of the pit, there didn't appear to be any other mice around nor did there seem to be anything of interest to soothe out her rather foul mood other than mushroom but she wasn't hungry.
This pit was a bore she though twitching her tail and squeaking in a loud voice.

The starer.
Kari just stared back at it for a long while, her expression slowly shifting to sheer horror as she watched it chew the mushroom. Disgusting. Those were not for eating. Those grew out of the dirt. They probably still had dirt on them.
"A wish?" She scoffed. "There are few things to wish for when you've got nearly everything. It would, however, be truly magnificent to never have to be around lesser beings again."
A few nearby minipets got very specific looks.

"Yorda takes care of the herd. The school? We are unsure what the proper term for a group of Follyjox is. A School of Jox? That somehow seems correct. We will go with that for now.
But Yorda is a good caregiver, making sure we all stay out from underneath the Calamitas feet - and she is quite a large Calamitas, so this is dangerous for us. A nurturer, we would say. Patient, caring, kind. Never asks for much. A good mother." Dormin affirmed fondly.
Though he had quite an..obvious bias. "That is why she is mine."SN: Pachurz

The Night Phoenix was a bit confused on the matter since the only memories it had of a mother was Lilith's and it didn't fall under any of those adjectives. Perhaps there were multiple mothers and they all had their own adjectives? This seemed possibly the best way the bird could define how a mother could be so different from another. It sounded nice though, and the Night Phoenix lingered on the thought of having one itself.
"That sounds nice. I can understand the worry of being squished, although I don't ever recall having a mother myself."

Thinks just kept...getting stranger and stranger. One creature was staring, one was...valiantly defending her? And the thing was slowly crawling toward her. The only somewhat sane one seemed to be Kari. "It can not really be helped, you should see his owner. The two obviously belong together."Apparently the gift the zomboil had brought her had not been enough to completely win her good graces. The staring pet was now talking about witches and the like with Kari, so she turned her focus back to the poms. "I do not know what you are thinking coming over here. Stop. Stay." She held her paw out and imperiously pointed at the ground. sn: ramenli
