See, the firefighters visit all the dorms every year to very specifically tell us two things - don't pull the fire alarms unless you think there is a fire, and don't go down to the beach to light bonfires. So of course some idiot or other pulls the fire alarm, likely while drunk, in one of the dorms like every weekend, and everyone goes down to the beach to light bonfires. *shrug* People are stupid. I tried to wake up my roommate to show her, and she said that unless it can sing and dance through a variety of showtunes, it can wait until morning. So clearly people do care. XP

biggrin *Photo is happy that it is fulfilling its purpose in life objectdom.* O.o Okay, I have to know now. How old did you think I was? I think it's all the freedom. They come to university and suddenly they're out from under their parents' roof and can do whatever the ******** they want because no one's there to tell them no, so the first week...or month...or year...is spent testing the boundaries. Eventually they realize that they have to tell themselves no sometimes, or else they drop out. biggrin Yay! I will remember that.

Uh, early twenties? Like I said, not ancient, but you're a lot more mature than most people I know that are your (our) age, so you confuse me sometimes. ಠ_ಠ
That's exactly it. I was like that in high school. I went to a boarding school so I pretty much fooled around for a while until I realized I was still at school and dorm advisors can make your life as much a living hell as your parents can.

:3 Huh. Well, now you know. Sorry I'm confusing. ;P Yeah. I was never really that kid - I was too busy studying and hanging out in the lounge playing around on my computer - but a lot of kids are STILL doing that even in second year. I have no idea how they got this far.

@Yuki: Who, Vectra? I'd be surprised if there was no mild concern expressed at her first appearance. >.> I think cockroaches are kind of cute in a buggy sort of way and even I'd be a little uncomfortable with that. And yeah, I'm pretty sure she randomly wanders the facility because she poses no threat, no one wants to experiment on her and quite frankly everyone wants to pretend she doesn't exist. razz
