She was complimenting him, and he didn't feel like he deserved compliments, so he ducked his head and let her hand go, reaching for the band-aids. Transformers were awesome, and his eyes lit up at the gift. They each had their own theme set.. it was kind of like being accepted. Kind of like being part of something. Nothing in this world appealed to Robert more than being part of something.
He slid the band-aids into his pocket, and tried not to catch Clarice's gaze again. He knew if he did, she'd see all this weird emotion, and he might start crying, and it would just get.. weird.
"Okay. Cool. Thanks." He murmured under his breath gruffly, trying not to sound like his throat was constricted from all these darn feelings. Yep, it was definitely starting to get awkward.

Awkward. For some reason Robert was always easier to deal with when she was angry with him. Fortunately, he was always thoughtful enough to provide a multitude of reasons for her to maintain, at the very least, a constant state of mildly irate. Sadly, the blonde had apparently gotten it all out of her system for today.
She cleared her throat, "Yeah, so next time you break into my desk, you have no excuses, are we clear? And get your nose looked at soon, don't want you to lose the pageant just because I played rough." With a quiet groan, Clarice slowly got up again and patted the dust off her sweats before going to retrieve her water and mp3 player. She was about to leave when she remembered one last thing, "Oh....yeah, and avoid H for the next month or so."
Clarice gave him one last glance, slightly worried this time, and then left the sparring grounds with a slight limp and bruised knuckles, still slightly bloody. She briefly considered a quick visit to the infirmary, but decided that she'd rather just have nice hot bath instead. Quite possibly this bath would involve a long talk with one Duckbert, and saying all those really cool and inspiring things she'd meant to say here, but which kind of got lost in all the hitting and honesty and awkward bouts of being nice.
