Well, from the things I've heard about Ron Paul, I don't want him in office, either.

I kind of have to agree with Slag here. Which is why I'm glad I don't have to vote this election. As long as Obama's not reelected.
I remember everyone used to say that about Bush and look what happened. >_>

"People might look at you a bit funny, but it's okay..."
Why is that Slag? And Despair? Are you aware of his stances? He wants to totally shift the paradigm of society by making laws that will allow states to vote on decisions however they choose. In effect, this lets individuals do anything they please (e.g. having an abortion, gays getting married, smoking pot in public) simply by moving to another state which allows any of these things to happen by democratic vote. As he says himself, he is a strict Constitutionalist. He realizes that the founding fathers knew best when they made this country, and he's absolutely right. Patrick Henry challenged Congress for an anti-federalist government, and ever since the creation of the country through the Great Compromise, that original sentiment has been slowly changing to federalism, and basically a Father Knows Best state. However if Congress wants to allow SOPA and PIPA to even be considered, we know that father really doesn't know best.

I don't know why, but when the person who told me about Ron Paul was talking, they mistook Rick Perry's words for Paul's... Looking at these videos, now, has shown me at least that. I, too, am a constitutionalist; but I can't get behind any candidate because it doesn't matter what they say when they're running. If a candidate is elected, he/she can't deliver on the promises made because of the special interest groups who have made contributions to the campaign so their needs get taken care of before all. This Ron Paul guy seems like the type of guy I want representing me, but how do I know that he's going to come through on his promises? How do I know that he's not going to find his own personal Korea, or Bosnia, or Iraq once he's elected? Why should I support a candidate who wants to go to war as soon as he's elected?

I'm kind of in the same boat, I don't trust anything candidates say really. So I guess it's a case of picking who's lies you like the most.

Ron Paul is receiving more than 70% of all of the funding from the military. The rest of his funding comes from supporters. The other candidates get most of their funding from the banks who want them to keep everything in their interest a priority. More candidates get more media coverage than Ron Paul because people like Mitt Romney have the media in their back pockets. When was the last time you heard about Ron Paul on CNN or ABC? I personally can't remember, other than seeing his name on the list for Republican candidates. The media gets money from covering wars. If Ron Paul is elected, that is a huge money maker that is simply gone.

Actually, I don't have cable, so everything I've seen about Ron Paul I watched when I clicked the link you provided. Thank you, by the way.

"Artists are allowed to be a bit different." - Bob Ross I've actually heard quite a bit about him, but that just might be because I live in a conservative state.

Jeez, I had no idea how conservative Arizona was until I looked it up on Wikipedia. Almost all of your state officials are republican. Both senators are Republican, the governor is Republican, and you have five Republican House representatives and only three Democrats.
