"Hey, Picassoooo," Zinnia called to the pachirisu, trying to tempt him over to play with her again. She adored the pokemon, although Zyk was beginning to hate him.

Zyk stiffened when he heard Zin call for his enemy, and flashed his fangs in Picasso's direction. He would have loved to bite the annoying pokemon, but he knew that Zinnia would not be happy about that. And he couldn't do anything to start a fight; he and Shadow were outnumbered by Heal's pokemon. They might fail, and then Zinnia... but he couldn't think about it. It had been a very stressful week for the tiny zubat.

Shadow had remained silent almost the entire time. Only she knew how she felt about Zinnia's impulsive adventure with a complete stranger, for she gave no indication whether she thought it was foolish or fun. She just followed the group from the rear, eyes watching everything, but giving away nothing. She had disappeared for a while when they had entered the Howling Forest, but Zinnia had been right not to worry, for she had mysteriously reappeared just before they left it.

"Heyyy, Heal," Zinnia said. She was fond of Heal, though she didn't think he was very fun-- much too serious. Still, she had found that very few people could keep up with her antics, so she was used to it. It had been very nice of him to let her tag along, after all. "Is some of that for me?" she asked hopefully. Despite what she had told Heal, she had actually been very ill-prepared for the trip, and had eaten more berries than she could count that week.

Picasso scurried away from Heal and went over to Zinnia. "Pachipachi!"

Heal frowned a little, this was another thing he hadn't like about traveling with Zinnia. He had to cut back on some of his meals to feed her as well, by this time, he was very much sick of berries and hoped that neither of them got the runs any time soon. "Yeah, yeah, I am making enough for everyone. Father pulls around a cart so he'll have more ingredients to add to this. I am just making a base for the stew." The teen was glad that Arthmael almost always went hunting for his meals and Tripod and Picasso were relatively small pokemon at the moment.

Arthmael's head tilted, hearing a howl he very much recognize. "(The healer is here....)" He muttered to the others before letting out a howl of his own.

-------

Adriel tilted his head as he heard a response howl, his arms wrapped around Cooper's muzzle to keep him from howling again. The old man sighed tiredly and let go, begining to walk again while the large arcanine happily pulled along a large cart clicking with medicines and supplies. Coming into sight of the fire glow from Heal's stove, he made a noise at that. Really, didn't the kid at least know how to make a proper fire? Shaking the thoughts away, he continue to walk closer, pulling Cooper off the road and towards them. Huh, someone was with Heal....Adriel abruptly stop when he recognize a certain black mew, a zubat and the fact that the trainer with Heal was a girl. "..........."

"Hm?" Zinnia turned around to see who everyone was looking at. Her face brightened up at once. "Hartless!" she exclaimed, running over to him with Zyk bouncing on her shoulder and digging his claws in so that he wouldn't fall off. It seemed for a moment that Zin's impulsiveness might lead her to give the man a hug, but she did not; she screeched to a halt a few feet in front of him and put her hands on her hips. "You liar," she accused. "Your name isn't Hartless-- it's Adriel! Long time no see. Whatcha been up to? Is Heal really your son? How come the name Heal makes you mad?" She had more questions, but decided to hold them back, because she did want to hear the answers.

Zyk liked Adriel, but it had been a long time since Zinnia had been near him; things might have changed. So he dutifully puffed himself up on Zinnia's shoulder to make sure that Adriel would see him and know that it was a bad idea to mess with the girl.

Shadow hung back, still a little ways apart from Heal and his pokemon. She looked Adriel up and down and waited to see what his reaction to Zinnia would be.

Adriel stared at this girl as she came closer, his body stiffening up almost in a fight or flight action, but he had enough clear thoughts to keep himself from actually taking off. Her verbal assault on his poor ears remind him of an old obsessive boyfriend he had a very short term relationship with. He really shouldn't be thinking about that guy right now. "Zinnia...." His dark voice came from as he looked her over for a moment. "Do me the favor of getting back to the camp fire and letting me unwind a bit before assaulting me with questions. The mountains were not kind to me this year..." At 42 years old, the healer thought nothing was very kind to him anymore...He guide his arcanine to the fire and unlatched him from the cart, letting the large dog pokemon bound over to Heal and start greeting the little healer by licking him to death.

"Why are you with my son, Zinnia?" And he dearly hoped it had nothing to do with any type of relationship. He started to unload some vegetables and meats that needed to be cooked and eaten in the next few days or would they would spoil. Taking the spot Heal had had before he had been attacked by the love of an arcanine, he started to cut and shred things and throwing it into the pot. "I never claim my name was Hartless, I just said that it was something people called me."

Heal pushed Cooper off him and panted. "Coop! DOWN!" He was amazed the dog pokemon lay down almost immediately. Taking a deep breath, the young healer took a seat by the fire and pulled Tripod close to him as if he would deter any more licking attacks upon his persona. Tripod was not amused by this....

Zinnia's expression darkened, though she did return to the fire and gave Adriel his space. "My name is Zin," she told him firmly, even angrily, once she knew he was listening. "Not Zinnia. Zin." She sat down next to Heal with a moody plop, calming Zyk down with a soothing hand; the zubat was tired of all the sudden jostles by then.

"I just happened to meet Heal and he agreed to let me travel with him," she explained in answer to the middle-aged man's question.

Adriel cut up a potato, throwing the pieces into the stew. "Hmmm, I see...." His dark eyes didn't even looked up from the task. "Heal's name makes me twitch because it's a bad joke on my last name and on who i am." The man just raised his eyebrows. "And yes, he really is my son, I had a blood test done the moment i found out.....I am not so stupid as to believe everything I am told without any proof...."

Heal made a noise at that, still holding Tripod. How many people did Adriel believe have natural purple eyes? He shook his head and petted the feline pokemon. "Where is Faraon?"

"Sleeping in his pokeball, the mountain was rough this year..."

Zinnia was a little confused on the point of a blood test, but she decided not to ask for once. She sat up a little straighter so that she could peek into the pot. The stew was looking good already! She hoped that it would be ready soon; her stomach was threatening to rumble any second.

Zyk yawned, his tiny fangs exposed for a moment. He wished that he could go find a nice tree branch to hang onto and sleep. He hadn't gotten much shut-eye (figuratively speaking) ever since Zinnia had decided to go on this crazy adventure; he'd felt the need to be awake at all times to ensure that nothing bad happened. Of course he hadn't been able to keep it up, and now he was close to succumbing to sleep again.

Shadow's ears twitched and she turned to gaze into the nearby trees. She was sure that she had heard something... Probably the same thing she had sensed following them ever since they had left the Howling Forest. She had vanished from the group for some time trying to seek out their mysterious pursuer, but thus far it had remained elusive. She probed out with her mind once again to try and identify the stranger, but as always, she couldn't get a firm sense before the presence vanished, only to reappear moments later somewhere else. It was frustrating, but Shadow was patient. The stranger would show his or herself soon enough. Until then, she remained on the alert, and had decided not to tell the others about it.

The stew took a few more minutes to be finish, but after a few more steering of a spoon, Adriel began to serve it into four bowls, handing one to Zinnia, and then another to Heal. Taking a third one, he held it over his head where it began to glow a soft purple and it was taken away to somewhere behind the old healer's large cart. Unfazed by this, the white haired man served a little of the stew with pokefood in each pokemon bowl and put them down for them to eat. He even took out an extra pokefood bowl for Zyk. He looked at Shadow and smiled softly. "Would you like some? We have more then enough."

Heal didn't seem surprise by the floating bowl as he took much more interest in his own food, thought he was a little sad that Tripod went to his own food and left him a little colder. Bah.

Tripod started eating, letting happy sparks of electricity flash around his furcoat, thought they were also a warning for a certain squirrely pokemon to stay away from his bowl!
Picasso could careless as he swipe little pieces of potatos and carrots from Heal's food. He tried to swipe some from Zinnia's

Cooper wolfed down his food without much thought, almost taking the large bowl in with the food. The large Arcanine soon was finish and laying by the healer, looking up at his trainer with big puppy dog eyes, wanting more.

Arthmael sniffed at his bowl. Heal's inviting a girl to come along with them had been very stressful, the ninetails didn't know who she was or if she was harmless. She had a legendary following her around! But now they had Adriel here and he would make sure that his kit will be alright, so the fox pokemon was finally getting a well deserve break. Oooh stew...

Zinnia gaped with an open mouth as she watched the bowl glow and float away mysteriously. She was unaware of a certain pokemon thieving from her bowl for several seconds while she stared, but since no one else seemed to be concerned, she looked down. "Ah! Picasso!" she laughed. She didn't mind sharing, though; she set her bowl on the ground to give the pachirisu room, and she began eating from it as well. She had to go slower, though, for the journey from ground level to mouth level was a perilous one for the contents of her spoon.

Zyk dodged the pachirisu and began eating from his bowl with relief. Even if sleep was denied him, he could at least keep up his strength by eating. Some blood would've really hit the spot, but it was bad manners to use Leech Life on your friends.

Shadow said telepathically. Another bowl of soup glowed purple and was levitated away, this time drifting toward Shadow. She was about to take a dainty bite when the rustling she had been hearing became suddenly distinct; even the humans would be able to hear it now. She glared into the bushes where she could sense the presence.

A ghostly chuckle could be heard coming from all sides, echoing around and around in a haunting matter. A thick black mist crept up on them on all sides, bringing an icy, clammy feeling with it. The laughter escalated into a mad cackle. The mist swirled closer and became almost stifling; it seemed as if the insane howls were bouncing off of it in all directions to accost their eardrums.

"What is that?" Zinnia shouted over the noise, dropping her spoon and clapping her hands over her ears. She saw the startled Zyk burst into flight, squeaking incessantly as he tried in vain to find this mysterious attacker through echolocation.

Shadow stated to everyone in the group. Her voice, heard directly in the mind, remained calm and normal.

Arthmael pulled his ears back and growled, standing over the cowering Tripod, who was awkwardly covering his ears with a front paw and a back paw.
Picasso was chattering angrily and running around, letting out little shocks, while cooper just rose his head and let out a flamethrower towards the skies.

"(Its just only one...)" A distinctly male voice invaded their minds for a moment, but just as a whisper to everyone but Adriel, who heard it loud and clear.

Adriel seemed unconcerned by the male voice as he looked around. ".......I know that cackle........"

"What?" Heal had his hands over his ears, wondering how his father could take on the noise assault.

"I know that....oh for the love of, you can't even hear me..." He muttered and got up to his full height. "Hey!" His dark low voice boomed. "Stop it this moment, Donna!" The name left his tongue before he register what he said. Dreydonna...right that't where he knew it from. "Dreydonna, I said stop it!"

The cackling stopped very suddenly at Adriel's command, but the mist pressed ever closer. It blotted out any noise from outside the ring of blackness. It was an odd sensation; one never noticed the background noise of wind and birds until there was an absence of it.

Then, quite suddenly, the unveiled poltergeist caused several objects to fly into the air and spin around. Soup (except for Shadow's, for the mew was still exerting her own powers over it) spilled out of bowls, but never reached the ground. Pokefood, bags, supplies, and loose rocks also joined the strange aerial dance. Then, Dreydonna artistically wrote using these materials:

♥ Adriel ♥

Then she re-morphed the writing into a blanket of bowls, food, and random odds and ends, and dropped it all on top of her victims.

"Aww!" Zinnia complained. She had gotten a good deal of soup dropped on her head and was trying to get it out of her long hair. Zyk (who had managed to dodge the worst of the messy attack) hurried to her side and tried to clean her off with his tongue, though he was too small to have much of an effect.

Shadow had put up a purple bubble force field around herself and let it drop once she was sure Dreydonna had finished her show. By this time, she was feeling quite irritable, and sent a black Shadow Ball into the bushes.

"Geng!" Dreydonna grunted in pain. She decided it was about time to make her appearance, and floated dramatically in through the wall of black mist.

That suppressed fight or flight instinct of Adriel came back with full force when he saw those hearts around his name. His eye twitched a little as he kept himself from doing something drastic...like going after his sword. Being that he was standing, he didn't get much of the stew on himself, he turned his eyes towards the Gengar and raised an eyebrow. "What is the meaning of all this? Aren't you suppose to be with Rene?"

Heal flail around for a few seconds as a blanket had landed on him. "Oi..." He pulled it down only to have a bowl smack him in the head. "....."

Arthmael growled at the ghost pokemon as she came out of her hiding place. He was cover in stew, bowls and other things!

Dreydonna was quite satisfied with her joke; nearly everyone was dirty or had at least been hit in the head. The wall of mist dispersed from around them. She ignored the unhappy people and pokemon in front of her; she had eyes only for Adriel. She floated over to him, grinning in a horrid way.

"Geng~" she said, twirling his goatee around one claw-like finger. She drifted away from him a foot or two before launching her explanation of why she was not with her old trainer-- it was entirely in pokemon, however, and incomprehensible to the soup-stained humans.

"Wait, you know Hartless?" Zinnia asked, interrupting Dreydonna's speech. "Have you been looking for him? Me, too!"

Dreydonna looked at the Zin sharply, wondering for a moment if she could possibly be her love rival. But the ghost dismissed the idea quickly; no way would Adriel be interested in such a weird-looking little girl!
PostPosted: Fri Feb 17, 2012 12:54 pm

Adriel watched with a combination of horror and amusement as his goatee was played with. He really was wondering why he didn't become a hermit in some basement far far away form all pokemon.....He turned his eyes towards his cart for a moment as Menudo trasnlated whatever the gengar had just said. "Ah......Dreydonna, you should know better then do that. Rene was a good trainer."

Heal watched allt he interractions, his only thought was 'My father is a weirdo. My father is a weirdo. My father is a weirdo.'

The older healer turned his eyes on his son for a moment. Hmmm....He smiled a the ghost pokemon once she had reassure herself that Zinnia was no threat. "Have you met my son?" If he could bump ANY crush on himself to his son, he would freaking do it.

((XD Bad Adriel! Trying to shove 'Donna off onto his innocent son!))

Dreydonna did a double take at the word 'son'. Her eyes widened in surprise as she looked from Heal to Adriel. There was some resemblance, and poor 'Donna felt rather scandalized. She pondered for a moment over what to do. It was clear that he'd had Heal before he'd met her, so it wasn't Adriel's fault! It had happened long before he'd had the chance to fall deeply and irrevocably in love with her. So Heal was simply a mistake of the past, and Dreydonna had to forgive him for that. Would it be all right if she just erased her love's mistake? But no, killing his only son would probably make Adriel mad... And she didn't want that.

After another disinterested glance, Dreydonna returned her attention to Adriel. "(Well? Aren't you going to capture me?)" she demanded. "(Then we can always be together. I'm sure you're a much better trainer than Rene, anyway.)"

Zinnia watched Dreydonna in confusion. She felt so lost! What was going on? Who was this gengar? How did it know Adriel? And who was this Rene person that Adriel mentioned? She wanted to interrupt and ask these questions, but she also wanted to wait and see what happened.

... She also wanted to take a bath and wash her soupy hair.
