Aureole smiled and quickly but nicely put the garland to the top of the tree.
She came back down to grab some ornaments.
"I think the men are intimidated by you. Mainly because you could kick their butts." She chuckled.
"I wonder what happened to the other guild members..."
She had taken time off from a quest. She had left Scooter to keep an eye on things. Someday she'd force him to join. Especially since he always helped her anyway.

Kervein nodded. She missed her old friends but...that was the price of guild leadership. Everyone had a new opinion of you---and to some it was hard to swallow. But she would not have attained the potsition if she were unfit. The Wise would have seen to that. They always did.
"Indeed!" she smiled, opening another box and placing ornaments about the tree.
"I have not seen many about. None have checked in since Fall--I fear we may have lost ranks."

Aureole sighed. "So it's just you and me now?"
She hoped the others would return.
She added ornaments and flew to the top.

Kervien nodded. "Seems that way," she spoke into the branches nto wanting to see anyone for a second. It almost hurt her to say---like she had failed somehow as a guild leader. They needed to bolster their ranks!
"We will be recruiting soon," she nodded, looking at Aureole.
"Which means promotions ceremony coming soon I hope," she looked at her subordinate with a kinder expression than normal and continued to hang baubles on the tree.

Aureole finished the ornaments. "Oh good! I've been dragging a friend around on my quests. Maybe I can get him to join! Oh we haven't had one of those yet huh." She smiled at their leader. "I'm sure the others will show soon. Maybe send em a letter? Anything else you need to add up high?"

Kervein nodded, pointing to a big box behind her, standing almost to the cieling of the nearby shed.
"I could use those green garlands trimmed the buildings. They're up high it would be dangerous for anyone not a gwilith. If you would," she stood up, opening the side of the box where a large lump of bright green magically sparkling garland tumbled out into the snow at their hooves.

She grabbed a bunched of garland and began to trim the buildings.

Kervein stood back, running backward a bit to get a good look.
"Ah--a little more to the right, they should match with the roof's shingles," she nodded and approached the tree again, grabbing more decor.
She opened a smaller box and smiled, lifting up lines and lines of silver bells.

Astrin looked around the guild, taking in the sights of his new home. It was a large place, and like any large place there were always large messes. And while the other knights and squires were off doing their own things, he was stuck sweeping up the leaves tracked in from everyone's hooves. Sweeping them all into a pile, he looked at the large group of comfy leaves just waiting for him to jump on. Frau. Kervein and Aureole were off decorating the Yule tree, so he was sure they wouldn't hear him anyway.
"Well since I'm the one cleaning them I'm sure it wouldn't hurt anything...." he laughed softly to himself, preparing to jump in the large pile of leaves.

Frauline was watching the events of the day unfold from her place by the tree, she set down the box and watched the page look contemplatively at the leaves with the smile she knew what he was about to do...
She kept her eye on him to wait until he jumped in...

Astrin laughed to himself once more before springing into the leaves, rolling around in them until they were flattened out and scattered even more than before. One pesky leaf stuck itself to his horn, leaving him to swat at it until it finally escaped and floated a good distance away from him. More leaves stuck to his horn as he rolled until he had obtained quite a large collection on it.
"The leaves are evil!" he exclaimed, swatting at more of them.

Her eyes narrowed as she spied him goof ing off and, despite her want to smile, there was much which needed completing the least of which was the last of the leaves, particularly since it was already winter, and snow lie on the ground thick in many areas.
"You seem to not quite understand exactly what it is you are to do wiht the leaves upon gathering them so neatly in a pile?" she looked at him with half a grin and mildly scornful expression.
"Make sure they are all sent to the compost bin out back." Frauline was still harsher than most knight in the guild, but the young ones needed to learn their place in order to move up in the world.

Astrin squeaked as the older woman surpised him, knocking the last of the leaves off of his horn as he stood up tall and straight.
"Yes, ma'am. I'll get to doing that right away," he replied quickly, sweeping up the leaves once more before running off to the compost bin to deposit them in their rightful spot. Once that job had been completed he ran back to Frauline and stood as straight as he could in front of her, nervously watching her as he did so.
"What should I do now, miss Frauline?"
