"He's...what now?" Sethrian asked, confused. A new parallel? What did that mean? Light in his knowledge? That right there, just sounded suspect, really. Seth watched her go, sighing.

Well, that was probably the most creative way he'd ever been rejected before. The unfortunate thing was that being rejected creatively sucked just as much as being rejected unimaginatively. Perhaps more. Why would she give him a flower, then immediately reject his offer to get her back to her dorm safely? Why were girls so...so...contradictory.

He let the lily fall back to the ground, and shoved his hands in his pockets as he headed back to the dorm. He supposed he could have followed her, but he wasn't much for the lost puppy act. If she didn't want to walk with him, she could just walk alone, then.

And so would he.

"Oh, thanks for the warning then," Angela said. "About the potions professor I mean. But it's good to hear there's at least one other likeable student roaming around."

They reached the school quickly, and Angela found herself glad that it wasn't a long walk. By they time they got there, it was pretty dark. The street lamps had been on already, for quite some time. "Anyway, look, if you need any help with physics or anything, I'd be happen to tutor you. I find it all fascinating so it's fairly easy for me."

"I don't think it will be all that hard though. I mean, physics is pretty much the same no matter where you are in the world--gravity and all the laws still apply, even under water it just seems a bit different because water and air don't have the same density and all that. But I'll stop rambling about that before my inner geek takes over."

"Anyway, I had fun today. I was sort of planning to spend the afternoon alone but...it was kind of nice to actually have company for a change."

Angela followed Kamil as he dragged her off again. Fortunately, she was used to being dragged around. Her uncle did it to her all the time. And she knew Kamil now--more or less--so she supposed it was alright. She had to jog a bit to keep up with him as he dragged her over to the shadowed figure.

As they drew closer, she could make out more of the details of the other person. For one thing, he was very tall--quite a bit taller than either of them. He also had darker skin, and she could make out pointed ears with quite a few piercings in them. It was dark out and there was only a bit of light from the fading sun, as well as a nearby street lamp, but she still found it odd that she couldn't make out his eyes too well. It made him look a bit creepy. In fact, she was sort of getting weird vibes from him. She really didn't want to get too close, but Kamil was pulling her that direction so she couldn't help but go with him.

"That--that's Sethrian? He's, um, rather tall, yeah?" She didn't know why her heart was suddenly pounding like this but that tall boy definitely made her nervous.

Sethrian was somewhat relieved when he heard a familiar, chipper voice calling for him. He looked up, something that somewhat resembled a smile, on his face when he saw the other boy coming toward him. But the ghost smile vanished when Seth realized Kamil had a pretty girl in tow. Was he coming to brag? Because after just having had some girl more or less reject him, Seth wasn't in the mood.

But he couldn't exactly say 'please don't come over here unless you discard that female' so he just stood there and waited for them to join him.

"Hello, again Kamil. I'm surprised you're still out this late. I take it the two of you are heading back to the dorm?"

He looked at the girl, then did a slight double take as he realized she appeared to be emitting very faint light. Okay, that was a bit odd.

"Oh, it's a, um, a pleasure to meet you, Sethrian" Angela said. The boy wasn't bad looking up close, if you ignored the odd eyes. She couldn't figure out why he made her so nervous. Nothing about him seemed particularly amiss. He just somehow gave her a bad feeling, but Kamil seemed fine around him. And while she wasn't entirely sure Kamil was the very best judge of character, she figured she could trust him this time. Perhaps she was just tired.

Wait. Did he just say 'paper towels?'" Angela frowned slightly. "Er...paper towels? Really? Well, ah, well done then."

"I wasn't aware paper towels were all that difficult to lift." She rubbed her arm where Kamil had been holding on. She was going to have to talk to him about this dragging her around thing.

"In our defense, they were enchanted," Sethrian said. He inwardly facepalmed at Kamil. On one hand, it was nice of him to sort of try to make Sethrian look good in front of a cute girl. On the other, that was just about the worst compliment he'd ever heard in his life. But beggars couldn't be choosers. He should probably just be grateful he was being complimented at all--even if it was over his paper towel handling skills. "At the very least, they had a potion affecting them, and were quite a bit more unweildy than what one normally expects from paper towels."

He looked back at Kamil. "Congratulations. I wandered around alone, was attacked by flowers, and met a strange student who couldn't seem to formulate coherent sentences. I'm not sure if she was daft, or simply unable to speak English well."

"At any rate, it's late. Perhaps we should head back."

((I think this is my last post for the night. No staying up til 3 am for me this time. =w= ))

After about an hour Jukka decided to pack up his guitar and visit his dorm. He put the acoustic in his case, put out his cigaret, and headed inside. He wondered what kinds of people he would have to share a room with, and if the teachers in the classes were nice or not.

"Yes, Heaven forbid any of us are late for curfew," Angela joked. "We might all turn into pumpkins, and then where would be be?. Anyway, I'm in Amethyst Dorm which is...this way. So I suppose I shall see you both tomorrow and all that."

All this insistence on meeting curfew, made her want to sneak out just to defy it. She wondered what would happen if she did. Sounded a bit exciting. It was too bad she didn't think either of the boys would be up for meeting up and going for a late night coffee or something. Didn't mean she couldn't do it herself, though. "I had fun, Kamil. And it was a pleasure to meet you Sethrian."

She started off in the direction of her dorm, leaving the two boys standing on the sidewalk.

"We're in Obsidian," Sethrian said. "So I suppose this is where we part ways. It was a pleasure to meet you as well, Angela."

He watched the girl wander off in the opposite direction from where he and Kamil needed to go. "Is it alright to let her go alone?" he asked. "Should one of us walk her back?"

He didn't really think there was anything dangerous lurking about...probably. But chivalry demanded they not let a girl walk in the dark alone. Not that he was always particularly chivalrous, but it didn't sit right with him. Not when she seemed like a fairly decent person.

"It isn't necessarily a custom, per se. But..." Sethrian floundered for a moment, trying to think of how to explain it. "I suppose it's just a matter of politeness--men try to ensure women don't have to wander in the dark alone, and make it back to their dwelling safely? I don't know how to explain it. I'm sure she'll be fine."

"We should just head back."

He started away, heading back to Obsidian Dorm. He shivered slightly. The night air was cold. It would be nice to get inside where it was warm, anyway. Maybe he could take a hot bath.

...

After everyone else went to bed, and he could do it alone. He wished his room had its own bath so he didn't like the idea of having to bathe where others could see his back.

((I actually realized that Sethrian probably shouldn't know what dorm Kamil is in, since this was never mentioned previously. He had a random psychic moment. emotion_awesome Sorry about that. ^ 3^; ))

As soon as her feet hit the ground, Angela put her jacket on and pulled the hood up over her head to conceal the faint light coming off ehr skin. The adrenaline in her system was making it difficult not to use her powers on accident. Honestly, she had the absolute stupidest magic in the world. Fortunately, she wasn't trying to make a living of being a ninja--or anything else that required stealth. Keeping to the shadows, she crept along, trying to find a good spot to wait for lights out. And then, well, she didn't know what she would do.

She was to suppress the idiotic urge to find a good spot to have a bit of song and dance in the moonlight. She was not having a star lit party. "Bloody Faeries," she muttered.

She would just sit quietly and stargaze or something. Just to prove she could.

As she crept along, she caught sight of something white under the shadow of a large tree, out of the corner of her eye and went to investigate what it was. Drawing closer, she spotted a large, scraggly ring of flat topped mushrooms. Ooh! A faerie ring. She was inextricably drawn to the circle out of curiosity, pausing at the edge to study the formation.

She hadn't seen one of these in forever.

Angela flopped down at the foot of the tree, just near the circle. She was not setting one foot in that thing. She'd probably end up twirling around in her underwear, singing some weird song about how sparkly the stars were. She leaned back and stared at the sky through the branches and had started to sing under her breath in spite of herself when she heard someone coughing violently. From the sound of it, they were a very old man and their insides were trying to make a debut appearance outside their body.

She stood up, and started toward whoever it was, still keeping to the shadows in case it was a teacher. When she was close, she could smell cigarette smoke, and wrinkled her nose.

She finally spotted the owner of the cough and was surprised to see that it was not, in fact, an old man. Or even a teacher.

It looked to be another student. And he had a guitar with him. Heh. She snickered softly.

"Well, if you're off to seranade someone in the girl's dorms, you'd best wait until lights out. Unless you want to get caught," she said.
