"All right, now, let's go. We can't be late now." Wren urged, sheperding her family out of the door. They fast-walked the way there, with Mika complaining about how her shoes pinched her feet and Michael muttering about looking like a sissy. "Oh, be quiet you two. Mika, if you wore your shoes more often, they wouldn't be as uncomforttable. Michael, all your friends will be dressed exactly like you, so don't be a baby." ⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿⑪✿{OurOctoberCalendar: ...}

xxxxSerpentine Artuga | District 2 "Hurry up, Serpentine, you'll be latee~ Don't be such a girl," Audacity called, mocking.
"Shut up," Serpentine growled. She looked down once more at her Choosing Day clothes. She despited them. It was a gown, frills near the sleeve, near the waist. A beautiful blood-red, stopping just above her ankles. But she hated dresses. She would much prefer to wear the elegant tuxes her brothers were sporting.
Her mother finished fixing her hair, which was swirled up into a curly ponytail. "There, you're all done. Now go run along."
Serpentine got up without a word and left the room. She knew that she would get no good luck wishes from either of her parents. She knew that they didn't expect to get chosen. But she'll show them. She had to get chosen. Today, she just had to.
Her brothers, Audacity and Valiance, came up behind her and flanked her. They cooed teasingly at her unnatural elegance, and she slapped them both upside the head. They continued the rest of the path in silence.
Most of the people had already arrived at the town's center. The three kids split up to their separate sections; Audacity in the boys' line, Valiance in the audience, and Serpentine in the girls' line. The line went up by age, so Serpentine made her way around the middle of the line and cut in. There, she waited for the choosing to begin.

When Serpentine left Astrayl just looked back at the night sky. It was bright and he could see most of the stars, even if the fumes were in the way. He finished his bread and stood up to take in the sight one more time. Tomorrow was the choosing day and his parents were going to make him dress up nice for it. He hated choosing day only because whenever he wasn't picked his parents would get angry and work him ten times harder then usual. Sighing, he jumped off the roof of the building and began to jump from wall-to-wall and finally landed on the ground. Smiling he started to run home hoping his parents were asleep.
Sadly, his hopes were cut short. Both his parents were still up looking at the different dress suits that they were preparing for him. He only sighed and got ready to put it all on. His parents were going to make him try on each suit.
-----------------------
Astrayl woke up the next morning and started to get dressed for the choosing. He already chose the maximum amount of grain, his parents didn't need it but it gave him a better chance at being picked. When he was done getting dressed he looked in the mirror to check himself. His parents picked a white tuxedo with a black dragon design running down the right arm. He only sighed, then he unbuttoned the black dress shirt and the white tuxedo coat. Now he looked more open, but he still looked dangerous.
He went to the town center and got into the boys line behind Audacity, Serpentine's older brother. Astrayl wasn't the biggest fan of Audacity, the boy liked to start a lot of fights at school. Astrayl stopped most of them but it was starting to get tiring. As soon as he was next to Audacity the boy started to talk about how he was going to be chosen this year, how he was going to win. Astrayl wasn't really listening, he didn't care much about what was going to happen next.

(Sorry, I've been sick for a while) Shayna Shayna moved through town holding tight to her brothers hand. They wove through the crowd. She was so nervous, her eyes were watering. Joel squeezed her hand and stopped her at the middle of town. A few of her friends closed in and nudged her playfully. It made the knot in her stomach loosen a little. "You're sweating." Her brother teased. She shrugged and fixed her hair. She was wearing her mothers dress and a tight bun with her bangs hanging out. Her brother looked neat with his light green button down.
Millions of thoughts went through her head. Could her friends make it if they were chosen? Most ofthem were bakers and shoe makers. They weren't fighters... Could she kill her friends if they were to be picked? The knot came back and about knocked the wind out of her. If it came down to it, she'd probably submit. The crazier her thoughts got, the calmer she got outside. The chatter around her was a low hum and the faces didn't click in her mind. It was just people, just noise.
