Zeren watched the eggs intently, watching, waiting for the next to hatch. A Brown... it looked like. He watched as a Green hatched next .. she yawned? were the candidates THAT boring? Zeren chuckled, he hoped not or no dragon would want them. He stood squared, waiting for the dragons to start heading towards one group or the other, to pick Theirs.

Salin stared sorrowfully at the spot where the young bronze had gone between. Thankfully it wasn't often that a hatchling didn't find a suitable partner, but it was was always so sad when one didn't. And a bronze, too! She almost missed seeing the blue Impress, though when she did notice, she smiled. One bit of sadness shouldn't bring down an event that was so full of happiness. There were still many eggs to hatch and Impress.
She turned back to those eggs in time to see a brown break free, and then a green. Her heart rose hopefully, and while she watched both dragons, she payed more attention to the green. Who would she pick?

Everything seemed to be happening so fast. Shortly after arriving the first two eggs hatches, a bronze and a blue. Morgaine was quite ovewhelmed. Not only from attending her first hatching but to see two dragons come almost immediately to start the things off. Morgaine watched in stunned silence as the two dragons began to make their way towards the candidates. She tired her best not to fidget too much as the dragons inspected the candidates. Oh course what happened next shocked her completely. The bronze attacked it's brother, not too violently and then before she could process what was happening the dragon went Between. How sad.
Morgaine was saddened by the babies death but there was still the blue. And in short time the blue found it's rider. A smile crept across Morgaines lips as she watched and then turned her gaze back to the eggs where two more were getting ready to hatch. This time it was a green and a brown. Two more chances. Even though the sadness over the lost dragonet lingered she looked forward to seeing what happened with these two and who, if any, impressed them.

To Wykla this clutch was determined to play egg pin-ball. With that rolling and cracking against each other surely couldn't be good for the hatchlings. She glanced at Feynath. It was her job to position the eggs after all. Maybe it was just a really touchy clutch.
Two more eggs decided to spill their contents onto the hot sands. A brown graced the sands followed by his green sister.

"c'mon, c'mon, c'mon- AUGH!" Erelus had been chanting at the dragon, and perhaps that's why the beast pounced on him. He'd always heard that your life would flash past your eyes when you were at death's door, and with a dragon on him he was pretty sure that was near. It reared up, Erelus flinched and tried to push himself deeper into the sands-
And something smashed into the bronze and drove it from him. Erelus instictively rolled away, all manner of sand getting into his slashed legs as he stumbled to his feet. His eyes searched out not the bronze but the blue; he'd heard it shriek. With gashes to his legs they'd pull him from the sands, after the Blue impressed he could see to him- Ah, he was right there, too! A warm tongue washed over the wounds and swirling eyes looked up at him
Are you alright, EreMine? Your Acerath will always be here. Acerath gently prodded him in the pounch with his nose. A smile crept across Erelus' face as he scratched the dragon behind the eye ridges.
"I'm here, I'm fine. Let's go get tended to, we both need numbweed and food." Erelus grimaced as he headed towards the side of the sands. Acerath went to his side, bumping gently against his legs.
Lean on me! You are hurt too, Ere.
"Heh." It was strange, this warmth. He leaned lightly on the dragonet. "You know... You got there right int he nick of time. You know what that makes you?"
Acerath looked up at him, his eyes swirling. Oh, that was a mischevious look right there.... He seemed to be searching for something, and that draconic smile showed again when he found it. A big sharding hero?
"Doesn't it just? Food!"
Food!

The bronze seemed to be having difficulty as he made his way through the boys (a little roughly in some cases) until he was at the stands. Azylrin watched him and his blue sibling, heart starting to pound. The bronze had to find his. He had to. Right? He may have squealed a little when the bronze came barreling into the midst of their group, seeming almost crazed in a desperate attempt to find His.
Azylrin had been more towards the 'outskirts' of the boys and was able to get out of the way quickly. But one of them wasn't so lucky. The chunky candidate took a few steps towards the downed boy, like he was going to assist (which he totally was) but the blue took care of that. And with a roar from their gold Queen, the bronze stopped his attack. Ran. And disappeared between.
Had...had that really happened? Did they...just lose that bronze hatchling?
He felt his stomach sink at this. That they had lost a hatchling. And a bronze at that. Not that the color of the hatchling would have mattered to him. He'd feel just as upset over it if the blue had been the one to go between. But, at least they had first Impression made. However, as sad as it was, Azylrin couldn't help the smile that tugged at his lips at seeing the brown and his green sibling hatch.

The brown, finished cleaning his nose, padded towards the boys without much hurry in his step. Head up, eyes alert, and tail wagging, the browns seemed eager to find His. The air was full of a strange blend of mourning and joy that confused the youngster and he crooned, a soft, questioning warble that was directed to the boys.
When he cocked his head to the side, it was clear he was listening to something but what that might be... was impossible to know.
The green, however, trotted and bounced over to the girls but drew up, dipping her head in a shy gesture when she actually neared them. Turning sideways, she tip-toed towards them as if sneaking in plain sight might make them.... it wasn't really clear why the green was being so strange. She was shy, perhaps?

Cyrci glanced over at the green and smiled. This one reminded her a lot of her own little friend Orlina and she hoped the green would take her companion seriously. Glancing back over at the brown though she smiled. Hopefully he would find his and soon. It was horrible what happened to the bronze and she certainly didn't want to see that happen to any of the other hatchlings.
Glancing down at Orlina she nudged the girl nodding at the green and offering her a smile. She hoped the little dragon found hers well and if Cyrci was lucky it'd be one of her friends or maybe even her. Though it truth her eye still lingered on the Deceptively delicate egg willing the little one to hatch with all her might.

Seyari watched as two more hatched, smiling, his joy at the emergence of new life boiling just under the surface. Last thing he wanted to do was let it out, however. Overwhelming the hatchlings could be just as bad as making them confused. He noticed that the brown wasn't in any real hurry, and took in all that was the beautiful creature. Noticing the green yawning, and almost tiptoeing toward the girls was a bit.. confusing in and of itself... but who was to say what the little dragon was doing? It wasn't his place. He had to be confident they would find theirs. And he also had to be confident he would find HIS.

This was better. Both hatchlings seemed in a much better state than their bronze brother, not distressed at all. Eager and curious, excited but shy. Hopefully all would be well with them, and they wouldn't lose them or any others. For now, she watched intently, waiting for them to make their decisions, and for other eggs to hatch as well.

Shedrawn watched the sturdy brown walk confidently over to the boys, what a proud being. The flash of green across the sand caught his attention for a moment thought. What was she doing? Sidling around like that. Hmm it faintly reminded him of some form of dance that were occasionally practiced at the harperhall when the more advanced instrumentalists plied their trade.
Shedrawn redirected his thoughts to the being that was so close at hand. He smiled as he remembered the way the brown had arrived, dirt all over his nose. He was a healthy...wiggly hatchling with no signs of distress yet. He hoped these two stayed here.

Salin smiled at the green's antics. What was she silly green up, to, trying to sneak around out in the open with every eye on her? She decided to play along and pretended not to see the green, looking back at the other unhatched eggs. But she still watched the green from the corner of her eye, shifting around occasionally to keep the hatchling in sight.

R'ne was still grimacing, though this time it was because of the draconic keening. It'd happened at her own Impression, some fool brown had went off between. Better the dragonet do it now than down the road.
So cruel. R'ne rolled her eyes and mentally defended her point to Gemgareth. The blue was inconsolable until the new blue on the sands Impressed. Of course, then it was like the bronze had never been there at all.
"Huh. Looks like Fatty there Impressed." R'ne said. M'cel laughed and looked to the Bluerider in surprise.
"That's the first somewhat amusing thing I've ever heard you say." The man grinned at her fiercely for a moment before looking back down towards the sands. He watched the girls with interest, noting the green. C'mon! Head on over and say hello!

Oh, that sidling green. She was making Anneke laugh, yes she was. It would have been hard for her to hide, even if the Sands were full of dragons, what with everyone watching her expectantly, but to be playing with the Candidates in plain sight, but pretending that she couldn't be seen? Or so it seemed. Anneke was delighted and amused and ... thrilled.
Of course she was saddened by the bronze's disappearance, but it happened now and then. Better that he go, if there was no one for him here, or if something was wrong with him. Better that than Impressing and taking a rider with him, later on. Besides, there'd been the blue, of course, and now that determined brown.
Anneke kept right on bouncing, braids doing a jig as they bopped off her shoulders.

Continuing to creep sideways towards the girls. When one laughed and turned towards her, the little green bounced back with a yelp of laughter and dashed the opposite way. Was she playing? It wasn't very clear, but she sure as Shards could move. Speeding around in a turn that would send most dragons - small and large - toppling over, she ran right into the ranks of the girls and bounced along then stopped and started creeping along again. It probably was a game to the young dragon.
And the brown... well, he was steady at least? Not particularly energetic, or stately, the young brown simply plodded along at his own pace and passed the first line of boys without a second glance. Head swaying back and forth, the young male reared up and looked around before nodding to himself and changing directions, gently nosing through a group of boys. Whatever he was doing, he had a plan in mind.
