Mau's eyebrows lifted, first at Jeremiah's proposal, and then at Nerissa's. Enter the dance, the two of them? It wasn't her first inclination of a date, but then again, she hadn't envisioned having one at all. Besides, the two boys seemed fine entering together... So the mummy managed a cordial nod. "I'd like that, actually," she looked between Nerissa and Jeremiah as she replied. "Since I guess we'd be getting nowhere otherwise."
The crowd of singles outside seemed to be slimming down, but Maunet still noted more than enough to prove her point. The smile she gave her new date was just as amused. She offered her arm to Nerissa, ready to play the gentlemanly (so to speak) escort to the nines. "We may not have met before; I'm in Applereach. You?" She had no problem admitting that she wasn't all that familiar with any of the other schools. It had never been something she'd felt the need to pay attention to.

She was starting to feel more and more uncomfortable by the second. Nathan wasn't paying any attention to her and he was barely even looking at her. She felt her bottom lip tremble a bit and quickly bit it. She had difficulty controlling her emotions sometimes. Right now she felt like bursting into tears and smacking him at the same time. Nothing too harsh, just on the arm to get him to notice her. When he finally caught on that he was ignoring her she was busy looking everywhere but him... Watching the happy couple kiss, watching another couple putting a necklace on the other...looks like someone got a present, that was nice... her eyes scanning her side of the crowd, skipping from one person to the next. Lighting on the lovely woman as she watched her, she blushed and turned away... obviously Nathan ignoring her was not noticed only by her... Then finally he started to speak to her, her wide eyes turning up to him as he'd give her the perfect explanation... Of course he was worried about Nico, Nico meant so much to him... Her hand felt cool in his warm hand when he took it in his own... She braved a smile even though she was sure that her eyes we misting over. "It's okay Nathan, I'm sure everything will be alright..." she'd try to sooth him..."from what Nico told me this is a really good friend of his and surely she wouldn't do anything to upset him... and the mistletoe? Well again, I'm sure it would be a very chaste kiss... like... a brother and sister would, you know? I'm sure you have nothing to worry about" Not noticing as he would that Nico and Nari were going under the mistletoe as she spoke.

"Oooh. Dancing sounds like a lot of fun." Nerissa remarked after hearing Marlon's suggestion. With a shift of her hips, Nerissa swayed in place, her fingers snapping up into the air in time to a melody only she could head. "I love to move on the floor." Dropping her hands down to her side, she turned to Mau. She was glad to hear the other accept her suggestion of partnering up. This guaranteed that they would be able to get in to the party at least. Nerissa's lips pulled upwards into a clearly amused grin when the other offered her arm. Ah, so that was how it was to be? Nerissa casually looped her arm through Mau's and answered her question. "I'm from Apple as well. Fancy that. Puck and I are in the computer club. If your interested in that sort of thing you could pop on in and visit us after school sometime?" She offered while walking towards the dance hall.
While Jayke turned a glaring eye upon the onlookers, Crysta was busy looking up at the mistletoe that had given her the opportunity to kiss Jayke. She reached her hand out to take ahold of Jaykes on impulse, though she still felt rather calm and less giddy. "I would love to get some gingerbread." She replied with a grin. This was such a special date already, she was so happy to be sharing this experience with her best friend. "And then we can do some dancing?"
Percival was a little taken aback by the glare the pink haired woman seemed to level on him. Uncomfortably he shifted away a step and turned his attention back to Eyota. She was holding the pendant up to him, and he reached to take it from her. "It would be my honor Eyota." He replied before glancing at Aphrodite again. The warning she gave was sort of..odd he supposed. But he was not about to question her. Carefully Percival leaned in to loop the pendant around Eyota's neck. "I have to say Eyota. This necklace here seems perfectly suited to you, you know?" He remarked softly after securing the clasp.
Naois could not help himself. He drew his arm back from Indigo just so he could attempt to loop it around her waist when she pretended to swoon. "Fear not fair maiden! I shall indeed rescue you!" With a small laugh, Naois attempted to swing Indigo around once before turning his somber attention to the thoughts to the food and Santa. With a small pull, he tugged Indigo along with him so they could get their pictures taken with the santa. "You know, I'm really happy you asked me to come as your date Indigo." He said with a small smile. "I wouldn't want to have missed out on having a memorable evening with my best friend."
Inwardly he was berating himself. It had been years since Nathan had a 'bad date' and he was not looking forwards to having another one. No matter how many good reasons there may have been for it. It was a relief to see that Helena was accepting his reason for being less then attentive right now. In fact she seemed to be even more understanding then he could have hoped for. Nathan's eyes lowered to look into Helena's own for a brief moment. His hand reached out to try and stroke her cheek. "Yes...Nari is a very nice girl. I am grateful that she offered to escort Nicohlas to this dance. I am sorry I have not been a good date tonight. I promise to make it---" Something happened. He could literally feel the chill of alarm travel down his spine. Nathan stopped speaking and looked up. From where he stood, he could see Nari and Nico leaving the line from the Santa photo shoot. And hanging above, like a poorly concealed door trap...was a decorative sprig of mistletoe. His heart leapt into his throat and Nathan shifted a step away from Helena "Nicooooooooooooooooo!!" He cried aloud in shock. All thought of repairing this shaky start of a date was lost as he rushed through the crowd in an attempt to stop his little brother from passing under the mistletoe. Alas! He would be too late, and a panicked expression would pass over his face.
The thought of outfits and plushies was lost with Nicohlas when it became their turn to get their pictures taken. At first he tried to be serious, as he had been taught to be when getting his picture taken. Yet with Nari's silly antics, how could he not start laughing? After getting their pictures taken, he happily rolled himself away. He held the CD in his hand tightly, a giddy warm feeling in his chest. When Nari asked him for the CD he blinked, then nodded and handed it to her. "Sure!" He rolled along a few more feet, his eyes turning towards the drink table. It was then that a strange feeling overcame him. He blinked and looked over towards the glowering expression on a chaperon's face. "Uh..." He stilled his chair and slowly looked up over his head. "O-oh...dear...." The sight of the mistletoe above him and Nari caused him to freeze. A slightly wide eyed expression overtaking his face. He heard his brothers voice, and he glanced over to see a strangely frantic expression on his face. "Uhm...I...uh..." He stammered while looking up again before glancing at Nari. "Uhm...a kiss?"

"Are you really?" Maunet's brows arched at Nerissa's reply. Not knowing the other schools was fine, but missing so much around her own! Clearly she'd been walking around with her head in her books too often lately. "Weird that we haven't met. I'm Maunet, anyway - and I spend more time around pages than keyboards, but I suppose it couldn't hurt to look." Yep, that was how this evening was going to go. Best foot forward, new risks and challenges and all that. Broaden your horizons, Duat!
She was so very happy that no one else could hear her internal dialogue.
The dance floor was as good a place as any, so Maunet glided into the hall with her companions and Nerissa on her arm. Her hips had started to sway of their own accord to Nerissa's snapping, the metal on them jingling rythmically. How long had it been since she'd just let loose and danced? One thing was going to be a bit of bother, though. "Ah, Puck...?" Her darkened lips twitched in a subtle frown, looking over the other girl's shoulder as she tried to decide which boy Puck was. It seemed like such a strange name for someone to have, though she supposed it was no stranger than 'Amaranth' or 'Sprawl'. Those, though, were names made for some very special circumstances...

Oh how delightful. This party truly was interesting~ And Aphrodite didn't even have to get her hands dirty to get that wretched little boy away. Aphrodite's eyes only flickered towards the scene that Nathan was surely about to cause, and instead sauntered up to Helena. She knew the girl had seen her. Who could miss this gorgeous body after all?
"Boys like that are a hassle, aren't then?" She started out conversationally. "You want to be noticed, right? By that boy? Or maybe by everyone? Pity, you are lovely." Not nearly as lovely as Aphrodite herself was. Actually, if she were to be honest, Aphrodite found Helena, like all the other girls here, plain. Almost homely even. But how could you even compare perfection an beauty like hers to the likes of mere children like everyone else? Ah, such a shame really. Whoops! She appeared to have gotten sidetracked~ Time to play up the charm she was granted in spades.
"You poor thing. I have just the thing that might make you feel better." She held her hand out to Helena, sitting in her palm was a snake pendant made of jade. "A little holiday cheer? A gift. They say jade brings good luck." Ok she wasn't sure who said that. Was that even a real thing? Well, she said that. Jade brings good luck. There. "Perhaps it will bring you luck with that boy." She offered the trinket. "But only if you keep it, forever. Jade and mysticism like that is funny in that way."

Melina was about to go on with several other snobby things when Eliza grabbed Destiny's arm. Hmmph! She didn't need anyone.
Eliza said, "C'mon Destiny, let's go inside. I'm tired of the crappy company out here." She started to lead the other girl inside, thinking it best to do so before she cause trouble.
Jeremiah felt horrible about excluding Marlon. "I'm so sorry Marlon! I keep forgetting there's life outside of Computer Club. Anyways, shall we?" He said, linking his arm through Marlon's. He didn't want the girls to disappear on him so he was in a hurry to catch up.
"I'm Jeremiah and this is Marlon, Maunet. A pleasure." He added, hurrying after the girls.
Miles shook his head at Chisato. "No, not really. I'm fine." He said, smiling. As he looked around, he was bemused about the decorations and the chaperones. He was at a dance. Miles, the one who didn't do anything like this! But maybe this girl was capable of making him do things he normally wouldn't. He spun her into the steps to The Jingle Bell Rock, laughing as he did so.

Oh Helena was not doing good. She was trying so hard to be understanding but when Nathan flew from her side in a panic over Nico and what would most likely be nothing more then an innocent little peck on the cheek, maybe on the lips but still just a peck to keep up tradition... she started to lose control of herself.. she felt a stupid tear roll down her cheek and hastily swiped it away. She was being silly... so stupid for thinking that this would have been a romantic evening where they would get to know one another... Maybe even start to have feelings for one another... They were betrothed and to have true feelings for the man she was to marry was something that she hoped for with all her heart... "I don't think I could catch the attention of any boy honestly..." she spoke in a manner of self depreciation when the lovely woman came to her side... "short of setting myself on fire..." She really didn't see herself as pretty... but she really had tried tonight... swiping at her eyes angrily she tried to hold back the tears... It wouldn't do to become a total mess infront of a stranger... "You don't have too..." surely their were other people out there more in need of a gift... But oh! Her eyes lit up just a bit at the sight of the pendant... it seemed to tug at something within her... "Thank you so much..." she took the little charm and looked gratefully at Aphrodite.... she moved to put it on herself for she didn't have her date to help her and she did really love the gift and wanted to show the beautiful stranger how much... her fingers brushing over the pale green stone, it seemed to go just fine with her dress too... offering up a meek smile... "It's very love...lee..." she choked up and then felt herself start to tear up again... everything that had happened and now this unexpected kindness from a stranger, it was just too much for her... "Excuse me.... thank you again... I really do appreciate it...." she hid her face as it felt hot with the tears that wanted to roll... "I'm sorry... I need to... go...." she'd rush off into the crowd, seeing the signs for the restrooms she'd hastily make her way to them to try and give herself a little bit of privacy to get control of herself... she was certain she wouldn't even be missed...

Paige shook her head. "It's alright! It was a nice night for a walk." She smile, smoothing her hair back that whipped up in the wind. He golden bow was still gracefully intact so there was no need to mess with it much. Her eyes widened as Taiga presented her with the rose corsage. She admired the delicate petals and the overall look of health it radiated. "Oh, you shouldn't have!" Even as she said this she greedily accepted it. "It's beautiful!" She held it up to the light, showing it off.
"You're here and I'm here," She winked at Taiga with a small smirk, "How could this night get even better?" The brown haired girl offered her date a slender hand. "Ready to join all the fun?"
The blond stifled a small chuckle at Jinju's 'om' sound as he took the offered bite. Jinju brought up a good point about finding seats. He thought as he placed different sweet confections on his plate, noticing that it would be a bit of a hassle to try and balance a of these things, eat, and try to hold up a conversation. "Maybe there's some seats close to where Santa's taking pictures." He couldn't really see anything over the crowd of people. At least if it isn't over there we can set our stuff down and take pictures."
It would be killing two birds with on stone. Food, pictures, and then back to the food so that they could go dance. Or hold off as long as he could so that they wouldn't have to dance. Yet, even though he would be clumsy on his feet, he wanted to have at least one dance with Jinju.
"So much flattery from a guy I just met." Mai smiled and preened as Percival placed the necklace on her. "You must be a great smooth talker and popular with the ladies." She patted the cool necklace while is danced against her hot skin. It rested perfectly above her cleavage and sparkled pleasantly. It was as if this pendent was made just for her. What an amazing gift! "I'm so excited!" She twirled with a sudden surge of energy. "I think that means we need to dance!" She started towards the dance floor, "What do you say? Would you like to take this dance?"

"Yup." Nerissa remarked to Maunet with a vague smile. "Well, I am sixteen years old. Maybe we are in different classes and all?" It was not like someone had to know everyone that went to their school, Nerissa was positive that she did not know more then a quarter of the kids that went to the school. "It's good to meet you though Maunet. Like I said, it would be great if you stopped by the club. We're working on a computer game right now actually. Believe it or not it's a dating simulation." With a small laugh Nerissa glanced over the dance floor. As Mau began to sway, she shifted herself to one side so she could watch her impromptu date moving. "Oh, that's my little nick name for Miah." She replied to the questioning of the name Puck. her hand lifted and she jerked a thumb over to Jeremiah. "He's very dramatic and has a good deal of showmanship. Sorta Shakespearean in a way. So I call him Puck." She could not help but grin a bit more as Miah would pipe up then to in to introduce himself and Marlon.
Percival was unable to keep from smiling a bit more widely at Mai. "Well, I like to think I am a smooth talker. But I can't say I'm popular with girls. I mean, I attend a all boys school. So in truth just talking to you has been the most female interaction I've gotten in weeks." With another cheerful laugh Percival stepped back to admire Mai twirling. "I agree. Let's go and dance!" *Nodding his head, he reached his hand out in offering to Mai's so he could lead her out onto the dance floor.

Mmm, that couldn't have gone much better. Silly little girl had no idea that a boy like that really wasn't worth the tears. Not her tears, nor any others. Oh well~ Perhaps the girl would get a little more confidence with the right push. Aphrodite found herself laughing at the thought... just a bit.
Now, there had to be more. She could just feel-
Well now, there was a pair in simply DREADFUL costumes walking to the dining area. Though... One was familiar... Oh, Butterflies. Hm... That could simplify and complicate things. At least she wouldn't need to shoo the girl away to give the gift in secret. There could well be fewer questions from the boy if that girl wanted to explain anything.
Then again, she hadn't had to explain anything yet this evening. With that in mind, she followed Jayke and Crysta and attempted to cut them off before they entered the buffet room. She wondered for a moment if there would be a scene. Crysta had seemed to want to see her again, of course, Aphrodite didn't blame her. Everyone should want to see her again. Cutting around a table, she bee-lined it towards the pair. She gave Crysta a wink and held her fingers up to her lips in a "Shhh" fashion. Hoping to quell any squeals before they happened. Did not need every average Joe looking this way.

Nari heard Nathan call her date's name before she had a chance to realize what was going on. She blinked and looked at Nicohlas, then behind them at the chaperone. Kiss? What did-
A glance up answered all her questions. She laughed and smiled a little. "Like those two in the cute costumes." She said to Nico as her cheeks colored. She wasn't really embarrassed that she now had to kiss Nico. He was as good as family to her. Like a little brother almost.
But Nathan's little display of crying out and trying to get through the crowd were what made her groan. NOW people were staring. Honestly, Nathan needed to trust them a little more! She shot him a glance that clearly read as 'you're making a scene.' And she wasn't too thrilled about it. But it passed quickly and her sweet smile returned as Nari focused once more on Nico. "It's alright." She leaned over and kissed Nico on the cheek. "Merry Christmas."
Ah! It was the perfect swoon! Picture perfect as Naois 'caught' her, and Indy's hand went to her forehead. She wasn't sure, but she thought she saw a camera flash. Someone took a picture of them? Sweet. But she was tugged from her thoughts as the line kept moving and they were up for their pictures. "I'm glad you came. I can't think of anyone else I'd have rather spent the evening with."
The guy playing Santa was actually a really good fit. The beard wasn't fake, the hair was naturally white, and while he was pudgy, it was that cute, dottering old man pudge that every commercialized image of Santa had. "You sure you don't want to sit in his lap?" She teased. Sure, there were chairs set up for the older and/or heavier people to sit in so they wouldn't need to be in Santa's lap. But for the first picture, Indy was sitting on the jolly fat-man's knee. After that she transplanted herself to Naois's lap.
She wouldn't have known that Miles felt out of place at the dance. He had asked her, and now he was leading the dance, and it was fun! At least, it was mostly fun. She twirled, the silver skirt flaring out a little as she did, swishing against Miles' legs. She was dancing rather close to him. He was the only one on the dance floor she knew, and was going to stay as close to this familiarity as she could. She kept a smile on her face despite her discomfort at being in a crowded dance room.
Until people started crowding more as other couples were getting into the groove. Her hands landed on Miles' shoulders as she stepped wrong, trying to avoid getting run into by a surge of people that passed to the dance floor as another song started- apparently one they all wanted to dance to. The misstep made her stumble against Miles.
"It looks like there's a hearth there by the... is that a fake fireplace?" He stared at the flickering fire that was clearly on a screen like a 24 hour yule log. "Ah, I think we could sit there. Come on, before someone else take the seats?" And at least if they got there and set down their plates, Jin would be the marvelous date he was and offer to get Evan a drink.
The small Sri Lankan dancer had no problems weaving through the crowd to get to the hearth. Score. It was completely solid and no one had spilled anything on it. He claimed this spot in the name of... uh... a good date! Yes.

It had to be a trap! As they reached the dance floor, Maunet, Nerissa, Marlon, and Jeremiah were standing under some mistletoe. The hell did you manage to get all 4 bodies under one little sprig? Someone better pucker up. The confused chaperones are watching you.

Jeremiah was about to recommend that both Maunet and Marlon join the club (as his presidency would demand) when he looked up at the mistletoe and the chaperones that were glaring over at them. They were really serious about their rules and he didn't know what to do.
With a flowery sort of movement, Miah gathered Marlon close to him. The boy known as Puck dipped the other boy in a movie-style kiss. He kept it short, but he was still most definitely kissing Marlon.
After all - Marlon was his date and he wasn't going to kiss Maunet - he'd just met her. Nerissa was pretty, but she was a friend and his secretary - that would just make things at the next club meeting awkward. Much better to kiss his bro and have a true bromance.
Miles was having a good time dancing with Chisato, forgetting his feelings of misgiving. As she scooted in closer to him, Miles felt his heart rate quicken. He didn't notice that she was acting panicked and when she stumbled into him, he fell back several feet until he stood under the mistletoe.
Oh man! He wasn't the only one under it. Not only was he under the mistletoe with someone else and it was required to kiss anyone you were under the mistletoe with, it was a chaperone! With a panicked thought of what might happen to him, he pressed a quick kiss to the chaperone's cheek and darted away, back to Chisato's side.

"Dancing?" Jayke tried not to laugh aloud or balk at the thought of him on the dance floor, romancing Crysta with a rose in his mouth. He knew of course that his friend expected no such spectacle from him, but it was funny imagining it. Maybe she would join him in a nice tribal dance, make the other couple's stare and shift awkwardly because most of them would be too polite to say anything! Perhaps it was his short time with Crysta, but Jayke found that he was beginning to enjoy becoming a spectacle. He had just spotted the buffet room and was making his way toward it when he noticed that Crysta had stopped and was looking at someone, a lady that he didn't recognize. He had failed to catch the wink and finger to the lips, so he wasn't aware of anything amiss, only that Crysta didn't seem to want to make this a mere bumping into. "Do you know this lady, Crysta?"
Marlon had smiled and waved his hand in dismissal at Jeremiah's apology; better that he be the last point of anyone's attention than to be the very center of attention where all he could do was get more negative opinions about him. Bad enough he was seen as a brute in school; he didn't need the whole city thinking it too. He was still smiling and nodding as he was introduced to more people, when he suddenly felt a shift in the atmosphere of the room. He looked around and saw all of the bulky chaperons glaring in their direction like statues with faces carved in everlasting disapproval. He could feel himself shrinking under their gaze; oh Lord, what had he done now? Before he could even think it over, he felt his date suddenly seize him, tilt him over and plant a quick but definite kiss on his mouth! Marlon felt his eyes bugging out as he flailed his arms for a second until his wide, panicked stare caught the splash of green dangling over their heads. Oh! Mistletoe! it became clear for him in an instant; the strict rules, the glare of the chaperons, the quick thinking on his date's part. He had just been saved from being thrown out, AND gotten a kiss to boot. He found himself chuckling inwardly; this would definitely NOT be one to tell his mother about. He let Jeremiah pull him back up again before straightening up and scratching the back of his head awkwardly. "Thanks; that was a close one."
