A horrible rush of embarrassment rushed up from Taryn's toes to her hair and she hesitantly searched through the database. Well... there it was. She typed in the number and swallowed hard. She was actually going to sing. In front of another person. Oh, Jack, this'd be interesting...

He couldn't laugh, Roch told himself, keeping his tiny smile firmly in place as she started to sing. It wasn't that her voice was bad, it was--that song--
Oh jack, that was ridiculously retarded, he thought, his lips tugging, trying to break into a laugh. Noooo, couldn't laugh, couldn't laaauggghhh.

Taryn's voice was soft and breathy and entirely sheepish. Her nerves were showing. It took her maybe a line and a half to realize what she was singing, though, and a brow quirked up.
...this...
...this was terrible...!
A slow grin broke out on Taryn's face, and as she turned to face Roch her voice gained power. Apparently in jest it was all okay. She was actually a rather decent mezzo-soprano albeit not as well-trained as she could have been. The look on her face and her laughter said it all.
What. In Jack's name. Was she singing.

He gave in. Roch burst out laughing, cracking up at the cheesy music and the even worse lyrics. "Oh jack, oh jack," he said as she finished. "That was hysterical!! We gotta do another one!" He jumped to his feet, heading for the book to find yet another cheesy as can get love ballad. "Wait, wait I know!!" he said, grabbing the book. He flipped through it quickly before grinning at her wickedly and typing in the number. He brought the mic up to his mouth. "You remind me of the babe," he said, before launching into Dance Magic Dance.

Taryn laughed right along with Roch after the quasi-serenade and bent in half to hold her knees and laugh. Oh, yes, another! She perked up immediately and... wait, what? She heard music, but that was an odd question...
"What babe...?" After speaking she glanced toward the screen. What were they-- oh! Oh! Taryn grinned again and bounced on her hooves. This was catchy!

He even danced. It was hysterical. "What kind of magic spell to use!!" he sang happily, almost cracking up at the song and dance. This had to be the goofiest thing he'd done in the karaoke booth so far. Who knew he would have this much fun with Taryn?
He shot her a huge grin as he finished the song, bursting into laughter. "Another! Jack, yes, let's do another!"

Taryn had very obviously been loosened-up by the utter ridiculousness of the situation. She danced with Roch, probably much worse, and laughed throughout. She let him sing alone for the most part, but every so often piped in with a giggly phrase. This was fun! There didn't have to be any shame with Roch. She look up at him almost adoringly, mentally thanking him for all the help he had given her, grinned fit to split her cheeks, and thrust her microphone into the air.
"Yes! I don't know much music, but..." That was as far as she got before she started flipping through the book again. "Are there any two-people songs?"

He gave her the most wicked grin ever, which promptly turned silly. "Sure there is! I got you babe!" he said, flipping through the book and typing in the number. "EVERYONE has to know this one," he teased as the words started playing on the screen and the music started running. It was impossible to sing this with a straight face, so he didn't bother trying.

For a moment, Taryn thought that Roch was calling her 'babe', and she laughed. It was in reference to the babe with the power of voodoo, right? No... no, it seemed as if it was the name of the song. Well then! The ghoul sobered slightly and turned to the screen, just a bit hotter in the cheeks.
Oh, Jack! It was her turn?!
"They say we're young, and we don't know; we won't find out until we grow..." Maybe some truth in that statement. As Roch sang the next line, her grin grew back and she looked up to him with the same silly affection.

He was roaring with laughter by the time the song was halfway done, giving up on singing entirely except chiming in for the chorus, his voice choked with laughter. "Oh jack," he said, almost crying from his amusement. "That was GREAT, but I swear my IQ just dropped ten points," he told her. "If we go on any longer you might be fine, but I'll be droolin' like an idiot," he teased.

Taryn laughed and shoved Roch with her hip, still holding the microphone.
"To each their own, right?" she snorted, "Some ghouls would eat this up, I'm sure. Some particularly chummy boils..." Oh, forget it! She burst into laughter herself and shook her head, now leaning against the boil she had previously bumped. The ghoul released a contented, noisy sigh and mashed her face into his side a moment. Ah, Roch. You even smelled nice. "and nobody can hear us, huh?"

"Nope, not a soul, which is good, cuz otherwise I would be SO in trouble," he drawled. "My entire rep gone down the drain. All with these ridiculous songs," he teased her. She was awfully close, wasn't she. "You tired?" he asked, looking down at her with a slight smile. "Maybe you should go back to your dorm, it's gettin' late."

Taryn snicked and shook her head, and then her smile fell slightly. Go home? Already? It felt like she'd just gotten here. She looked up to Roch something like a kicked puppy and tilted her head.

"It's eleven," he said. "But if you don't want to go yet, I'm not going to make you," he said quietly. "It's just... you look like you could use some rest. I did drag you around a lot tonight."
He wasn't planning on sleeping. He'd been having trouble doing that since the net and the fire.

"I'm not tired," Taryn defended, shaking her head softly. It was past her usual bedtime, but that was mostly because she'd never wanted to be out past ten. Here, now, she was too excited and too happy to sleep. "I don't want to impose, though. If you're tired, I'll go."
The ghoul offered a reassuring smile and a little bounce as she shifted her hooves, letting her arms drop from around Roch.
