"I'm here! I'm here!!"

You need to stop being late to these things or someone's going to be pissed atcha'.

"I'm fine, it doesn't look like it's started yet," Jerry hissed under his breath, trying to keep his smile planted firmly on his face, although it was wobbling at the edges as he jogged his way through the gathering trainees towards anything that looked like a familiar face. It didn't look like anyone had missed him, anyway.

Davey found it amusing that the new kids were less wary of him than the more experienced trainees. No longer so scary, huh? Maybe already knowing people helped. Gale introducing him was surely less intimidating than if Davey stood on the outside of the group all the time.

"I have my days," he told Ryan and Eva. Mostly when someone was stupid or mentioned the arm, or if Davey was having a bad day because of the arm, or... well, it came down the arm a lot, really. And as his mother had lovingly pointed out, he sometimes had the eyes of psychopath. She'd suggested counselling; Davey had joined the Hunters instead. (Which possibly only proved that he really had needed that counselling after all.)

"Is there much to do here aside from training, eating, and sleeping?" Eva asked Gale.

"We tried having a party once," Davey shrugged. "Bit hard when the food here is, well. And the lack of a stereo and such." Bix had done a pretty decent job, considering what he had to work with. It was just that there really wasn't anything to work with.

An eyebrow rose when Ryan said it must be nice to have someone from your own country here. Right, because that made them cousins or people who'd lived in the same town. "I suppose he gets my slang and craving for tea, if nothing else." Sure, he got along with Gale. But it had very little to do with both being Brits and more to do with the fact that Gale was bloody good solider. Hunter. Whatever.

~Every time I think I got stuck with the most retarded Hunter out there, someone comes along and proves me wrong.~

Now Davey gave in the urge to roll his eyes. "Bitchblade's awake," he explained. Gale, at least, had heard about Azrael's sparkling personality. Definitely time to take a seat, before Azrael decided to expland on his opinions of the newest trainees.

Davey dropped into a chair next to the others. Might as well quiet down and see if that would encourage Caelius to begin the mission briefing.

Robert might not be sick, but he also pretty clearly wasn't okay. It was just as clear that he didn't want to talk about it. This wasn't the time or place anyway. Jordan squeezed Robert's shoulder once, let go, and said, "If you need anything, bro." He left it at that; if Robert wanted to unload or just hang out, he knew he was always welcome.

Oblivious to everything that might have happened to his friend since their last mission, and any sort of angsty heartbreak he had been put through, Jerry caught sight of Robert amongst the cluster of Phoenixes, his eyes brightening considerably. "ROBBIE! Robert you came this time! Oh it'll be fantastic we work wonderfully together I promise I won't let anyone nearly die this time not with us there, not at all!" He pushed his way up to him, throwing a skinny arm around Robert's broad shoulders, his enthusiasm clearly forced and overbearing, "Have you put any thought into what I proposed, by and by? You do have such a fantastic voice it would be such a waste to not share it with everyone!"

And then Leon found himself stuck on the mission after he found himself wandering around the campus when the text came. Guess what room he was in front of?

Yeah.

"What the hell, how did he know i was right around here?" the boxer grumbled out before walking into the room and taking a seat behind the cannon trigger happy Jerry. he did didn't trust him enough to sit in front of him anymore.

Your leader is ways watching you, especially when you shower.

"Nid, no, that's it, I'm cutting you off from that turkey. It's apparently must be too good for you." he scolded the dragon lightly and shushed him up since it was Master Cael in front. he'd like to not get scolded every time he was in the superiors presence.

Except the flaw with this logic was that it involved CAELIUS.

Vanessa had gotten the text from Caelius while she was out exploring the Deus Ex facilities. She was debating trying her division's challenge when the message appeared. She turned on her heel and simply strode back toward the classrooms.

When she arrived, there was already several people there. Actually, there was practically everyone she'd seen before there, probably. Quietly she moved to an unoccupied seat, watching everyone converse around her.

((Short post is short since I have to run, sorry. XD;;; ))

Robert finally looked up at his boss, his eyes completely lifeless, and he gave the man another nod. Unfortunately, Jerry's more stubborn joviality was something Robert couldn't handle. The cheer, the excitement, the sheer happiness that exhuded from the Sun Hunter made Robert crack.

His brow furrowed.

His chest heaved.

And before you could say 'Giant hulking man bawling like a baby,' Robert dropped his head into his hands and started bawling like a baby.

Awkward.

It didn’t take long for the group to grow in size: Evie and Deryk, and a few others had also joined. The sudden growth in size startled him at first, but then Wilson brushed it off. He liked the liveliness and multiple conversations larger crowds provided.

Ryan, not as late?” Wilson laughed. “Caelius isn’t debriefing yet and we’re all just chatting now. Can you really call that ‘late’?”

“I have no idea what this mission is going to be, to be honest, but I hope it isn’t going to be something like the last one.” He winced visibly at the memory. “I swear I can still feel the slime on my hands.” Shuffling dead bodies with bare hands didn’t sound sanitary at all. Once he realized that Davey was also here, he briefly waved. “Hey!”

Wilson did not want to get his head bit off, metaphorically or literally. “Sounds like a good idea.” He quickly followed after the others, seating himself next to Deryk. “What do you think this mission will be about this time?” He looked around and noticed Vanessa sitting a few chairs away. "Vanessa!" Wilson waved and gestured for her to come over, but if she didn't...well, that was fine too.

Gale leaned his arm to rest on Bix's shoulder, his head propped up against his head as though using an armrest of sorts. He hadn't said anything to his friend just yet, but for some reason the albino was unusually quiet - and Gale, of all people, wasn't about to pry into why he wasn't talking.

"It's pretty nice, yeah," he said to Ryan with a nod, glancing over at Davey with a small smile. "I didn't expect to find another Brit here, so I was rather pleased."

His eyes slid sideways to rest on Eva, standing in front of him with an expectant look on her face, mingled with amusement. "Not much, no," Gale confessed, blowing his bangs out of his face with a quick breath. "Sadly, what Deus Ex makes up for in bang up missions, we lack in every day commonalities like things to keep us occupied between said missions."

He gave a nod to Deryk, though Gale's gaze had flickered back to Davey.

"You're not scary," he said, with some amusement. "Well," he corrected himself. "Not that I've seen. A bit melancholy and quiet, perhaps, but not scary."

Grinning to show that he was teasing - and then rolling his eyes at the tea comment, Gale said mildly "So your delightful sword is awake? Jinhai, thank heavens, is - "

<< I'm right here, Gale. >>

" - apparently awake as well. Oops."

The rest of the trainees had begun to take their seats, and Gale flashed a quick look at Bix before moving his arm away, crossing one leg over the other and folding his arms across his chest. He was about to ask the albino a question, but a sound somewhere to his right made him look over at the source of the noise.

Which was....Robert.

...crying. Gale stared at him.

"Er...."

Jerry blinked, hand hovering where Robert's shoulders had once been, his forced exuberance wavering. "Er..."

I think. You overdid it, Jerrbear.

"R-robert, er... I... um. Ahahaha... It... Our last m-mission, I mean... I'm sorry it... went the way it did, but there's no reason to... to be afraid...!" He finally squeaked.

... Not good. Jordan shot a rapid glance at Caelius, then leaned over to rest a hand on Robert's back. "Hey, man," he said quietly. "You need to get out of here?"

He eyed Jerry tiredly. Much as he liked Jerry, he had to admit that the older man's sense of social awareness really needed work.

Robert let out a growl, wiping his face angrily and shaking his head. "Whatever, whatever. Christ, Jerry, this has nothing to do with our mission. Just, back off."

He slumped even lower into his chair, turning when he felt Jordan's hand on his back. He leaned into it, craving the comfort despite how unmanly it felt to do so. "No." He sighed out. "Can't. Been missing too many missions. Gotta catch up."

He sounded like a robot, but it was better than crying.

Marcus had woken up late, and he also had just been flat out tired. So when he got the text, sluggish was an accurate word to describe him. His recent sparring matches were leaving him tired, and Dis had given the trainee a rest for a while But there was no rest for the wicked it seemed, as the Death Hunter Leader had a new mission for them, this time he hoped, with less dead bodies. It was a small miracle he hadn’t thrown up or started having nightmares about that s**t.

When he walked in… He wasn’t sure to roll his eyes, sigh, b***h, or just deal with it. A grown man was crying like he was three years old, and apparently being a brat about it. Way to go Robert, from showing up to social gatherings in your boxers, to making a scene, and setting an A+ example to all the newer trainees. A look of contempt behind the other’s back before he went over to Leon. Marcus couldn’t help but wonder if the gang was all here. Of if Jude and Leon were going to go at it and he could watch. “Hey Leon, ready for another round of hell on earth with the devil himself.” It was a whisper, no need for the head to hear them.

A hand waved over to Gale, Deryk, and Ryan. Marcus wore a smile, but it didn’t seem to reach his eyes. His eyes were just too tired to hold any other emotion but ‘beat’. “God what I wouldn’t do for a nap.”

Jordan nodded slowly, not entirely convinced; but Robert had hauled himself back under control, and it'd be embarrassing him and doing him a disservice to attempt to insist otherwise. "You've got backup if you want it," he said instead, and patted Robert's back before slouching in his chair and crossing his arms over his chest.

Jerry shied away, his face paling and smile faltering. Their time here was wearing everyone thin, it would seem. He wasn't sure what had gotten into Robert, but the looks Jordan was throwing him told him enough.

He had taken a long time to pep talk himself into even showing up, after all... whatever had gotten into his friend, he wasn't alone, emotionally, he was sure.

Swallowing, he considered his options. "Robert... you know..." He cleared his throat, moving to crouch behind Robert's chair, a hand firmly resting on his shoulder, "Gray skies are gonna clear up, Put on a happy face... Brush off the clouds and cheer up, Put on a happy face. Take off the gloomy mask of tragedy, It's not your style; You'll look so good that you'll be glad Ya' decide to smile!"
