Calder was shocked at this from Riley. "Fuc - What? Ewww!" He said, looking at Riley as if this was just G-R-O-S-S GROSS! Of course it was. This was RILEY! Couch cushions had a better chance at being with him.
As he looked at Barth, he held up his hand again, and then shook it. "That's what I said. We're stuck." Duh! He JUST said that.

Barth turned very red.
"Right. The...suction thing." He had some experience with Calder's sticky grip. Most notably, during the last segment of their visit to Dr. Fell's. "Come in. I'll...find some lubricant. You could try sticking your hands in the goo fountain. What were you err- I mean why were you holding hands in the first place?"
Still uneasy, he slowly wandered towards the cycle of goo at the very back of the room and gave Cheezbooger a gentle nudge out of the way.

He has such gentle hands. Riley teased, as she walked inside. Her mood was instantly lightened when she heard that he had a proposed idea for freeing her.
I couldn't help myself.

"Ha. Ha. Riley." He grumbled. He wasn't about to point out that Riley's hands seemed stronger than his, and that if she wanted, she could probably crush his slender fingers.
Calder stepped in, using his free hand to shut the door, and moved with Riley behind Barth to the goo fountain. "I was stuck to a tree. Riley came by, help me, and then..." He rose their hands again. "...I tried pulling but I feel like my skin is ripping off." He was growing a little pink admitting all this. The entire thing was his fault for just not being able to control his own suction. It was usually in better control, but this was getting ridiculous.
When he looked at the fountain, he breathed out. "Maybe that will help." He was hoping that the slime might break them free, but who knew. He usually just waited the suction out. He never tried to force it free. By it's very nature, his suction was there to withstand any effort to break free.
He went over and without waiting, dumped his hand into the slime fountain.

Barth leaned against his bed, arms folded.
The slime...certainly got the outside of their hands slippery.
"Maybe it's like err, one of those finger things? You have to relax a bit? I never used them," He flexed a hand demonstratively, "Claws."

Oh- She had only managed to make a small noise of discontent before Calder dragged her over to the fountain, and slammed their hand into the gunk. She groaned slightly, and looked down at the mess their hands were now covered in, then let out a very quick, sharp sigh.
Are you concentrating on it? She murmured vaguely. Maybe if you forgot about it, with some kind of distraction, it might just stop on it's own while you're not paying attention.

"Finger things?" Calder has NO idea what Barth was talking about. Chinese Finger Traps were not something common back in his clan. He only looked confused, and then puffed a bit at the mention of relaxing. When Riley said he should concentrate, he only felt the pressure to try and try again. She didn't want to be here, and the sharp sigh told him she was getting tired and probably hated him for being stuck, making him feel bad and guilty.
"I'm trying to concentrate. I am." But now she wanted him to be distracted. HOW? They were stuck together. She was RIGHT there. "So what do ...you wanna do." He looked around. He couldn't think of any distraction aside from the fact he was holding hands with Riley in Barth's room. After what they had both said, he now got the first shock Barth had and felt flustered by it. He'd love a distraction.

"Well I suppose we could try some slime that's a shade more...sentient," Barth hazarded, looking back towards the door, "But we aren't in the gymnasium, and I haven't been successful with it yet."

Riley was more interested in looking around Barth's room, even as she corrected Calder. What I mean is, try not concentrating. Barth, distract him with something. Maybe if he forgets about it for a moment, it will simply.. She made a popping sound as she looked back down at the two.

Calder frowned, not seeing how he could be distracted but welcoming any suggestion. As Barth suggested trying out his own slime, the kelpie could only shrug. "Worth a shot if you want to try." The slime they just used didn't do anything aside from make his hand slippery and start going down his arm.
He noticed Riley looking at Barth's room. "Nice, isn't it?" He liked Barth's room. It was comfortable, and it smelled familiar to him.

"She's been in here before," Barth said flatly.
He stopped leaning on the bed.
"I don't think there's any harm in trying the slime. But if you need to relax, I can help with that too. Let's see."
He concentrated on his claws, which felt heavier at first, then slick, beading with a collection of ooze that soaked through his sleeve and plunked into the ground with a thick noise. Then there was another. Then another. Seven in all, tiny, fat, evil-looking goo gremlins, with goo teeth and goo eyes. A rainbow of pink and green and gold, chittering and snapping at each other and snickering as the last of them hit the carpet and stood, shaking itself out.
Cheezbooger hissed at them from the fountain.
Barth clapped his hands, to get their attention.
"Now," he said in his most authoritative tone, "Calder and Riley are holding hands. I want you to ease their separation."
Their eyes glittered, and a small blue ones hummed something that sounded suspiciously like Red Rover, before two others hooked limbs and a fourth used them as a stepping stool, springing up to pry and stamp on and ooze all over Riley and Calder's hands.
A fifth sprung up to join it, then the sixth, until they were all clambering in a mad frenzy to get to the hands. Several missed, and ended up splattered elsewhere. Hair, kilts, busts. The ones that made it turned Riley and Calder's hands into furious ball of action and squeezing and squirming, until that too collapsed in a pile regular slime.
The hands were still stuck.
"Hm," Barth said, holding his chin in one hand. "That never quite works."

Not only was she still stuck to Calder, but now one of her tentacles was thoroughly slimed. That felt uncomfortable.
Yes. Well. A good try, overall. Now, perhaps, my idea?

Calder's ears were dripping, as were his hair, and his shirt and kilt had been made wet from the bad aim of the goo gremlins. "Thanks for trying, Barth." He said, wiping some goo from his cheek. He couldn't blame Barth for at least the attempt, but it didn't do much good. He still gave a test tuck on their hands and it was just as stuck as ever.
"What's your idea?" He asked, hopeful it would be a good one.

"Yes err, right, um, relaxing," Barth said, suddenly becoming aware of Calder's current state. He wrung his wrist, feeling pretty taxed, and trying not to focus too hard on the way Calder's shirt was clinging to him.
"We might watch a bit of television?" he suggested, looking at Riley warily. "I do have a foot massager somewhere, but I don't think it would have quite the same effect with hooves. Or I could talk you through some meditation. Sorry, would you like- a...towel, or something?"

Oh for the love of-
Riley rubbed her face down with one hand, grimacing at the words she was about to utter. She almost considered staying stuck to Calder as a better- wait, wait.. no.
Jack help me, Barth, I don't have time for this. Will you just kiss him already. Riley was well aware of the best way to distract someone. She just didn't want to have to spell it out for the idiots.
