"If you are found they will have to pry you away from me from my lifeless paws." Her answer was rather fast. He didn't mind. That just ment she wanted to stay with him. Maybe... What if she didn't want to stay.
"I will make sure it beats for a long time. Forever if I could." He didn't know why he wanted to make sure she was ok. He.. just wanted her around. He didn't know this strange emotion. It made him feel warm, even though he new his heart for void of emotion and filled with ice.

"Have you ever wanted kids?" She peered at him, suddenly curious. Would she allow some woman to sink her claws into hm and birth his children? She did come from a violent family, if she wanted something it was doubtful she would ever allow such a horrid thing, though at the same time it wasn't her place.
Why was she so possessive? Was she broken, malfunctioning just like Nox had? Nyx was breaking, too, and last time she saw Erebus he was showing signs of malfunctioning, too. Her parents already had.

He blinked. "Kids..." Aza'zel wondered where this came from. HE thought back to his child hood. Where all parents like that. "I.. Don't know. I don't think I would make a proper father." Which was probably true in his opinion.
"Why do you ask that?" Him having kids? Would he really want to fate others into having his life. Would he raise them differently? He didn't know what would happen to them.

"You would be a wonderful father. Anyone would be honored to have your kids, or I will gouge out their eyes. Also, I was wondering what would take you from me." She did not lie. She was not as manipulative as her siblings or parents, she was like her sister Nanna, unable to lie and unable to trick, for they both only saw facts. She also did not care to lie, for the truth was often more painful, anyway.
So she was telling the truth when she said she believed he'd be a good father. Her own father wasn't the ideal parent figure most thought of, yet he had successfully raised strong children able to live and protect themselves. Her mother was a monster to most, yet she hadn't murdered them or even harmed them too much. If they could raise a child, Aza'zel certainly could.
She had spoken far more than she usually did, though she had a reason. If a woman stole him she wanted to know why, and if it was for kids she guess she could relent. Or not. She might murder the woman in the dead of night.

Huh? A good father. "No one could take you away from me." There was that feeling again. Only Phanes could coax out that feeling in him. "He watched the vixen. "Phanes..." He still watched, moving a little closer to her. Something inside him urged him to speak.
"Why is it you want to be so close to me... and in the same way... I want to be close to you." He blinked at her. Maybe they were both sick. Or both swallowed magnets. Something was going on.

"Because we are malfunctioning?" She did not know, basically, and if he had voiced the magnets thought she probably would agree. Magnets was the most likely to her, or that they were breaking.
"Nox malfunction. Mother and father malfunctioned. I believe Erebus is. Phrixos, too." Nanna and Nyx were the only normal ones... She had though so was she, yet...

"Malfunctioning?" He only heard that word with things pertaining to technology... Robots. "Phanes... We aren't robots. We have... hearts and souls. We don't malfunction." Then he thought more about what she said. Then it dawned on him. "Phanes. Is what you're trying to say is that... They fell in... L-...L-..." Why couldn't he say it out loud? He stared at Phanes. He loved her.

"Mother has father. Phrixos has Eironite. Erebus has Silvermaid. Malfunctions." She went stiff when he said the word love, ears flicking as, for just a second her eyes showed confusion. Malfunction was love? It made sense, suddenly, and she stared at him, dark eyes watching.
"They fell in love." She quietly repeated, her quiet heart skipping. Love? Was that what she felt? Did he love her? Was the term malfunction which Nyx gave her wrong?

"Yes. They must have." For once in his life Aza'zel was at loss for words. He stared rather blankly at the empty fireplace. He felt her go stiff, making him look at her. He was slightly worried. He could feel her heart acting odd. "Phanes..." Something was wrong. "What is wrong. Your heart isn't beating the right way."

"I don't know." Her heart? She tilted her head, unsure of what he spoke of. Her father had said it was normal for your heart to skip at times, was this one of those times?
Aza'zel wasn't saying he was malfunctioning. Did that mean he did not..... Love..... Her? She didn't know whether or not she expected him to, or whether or not it hurt. You had to have something to be sad when you didnt, her father used to say. Then why was she sad right now?
"It doesn't hurt." She added. Whenever her heart acted up it always hurt, not this time. anticipation, she realized, was what the skip meant.

"Hmm..." Aza'zel leaned into her, pressing his ear against her chest. Trying to listen more closely to the organ. As he listened he almost felt as if his own was doing the same. He blinked, then sat up. Then sat up and scooped her face up in his paws. Guiding her to his own chest so she could listen as well.

She felt warmth as he rested his head against her, content. She almost whined and would have if she wasn't such a quiet vixen when he moved away. The touch of his paws was startling, she hadn't been expecting that, though as she was sent to hear his heart she stiffened. He was malfunctioning.
"Are you malfunctioning?" Hope touched her voice, a rare emotion slipping through as she pulled away. She wasn't able to say the right word, love, because if he wasn't she would never trust it again. It was a word she was afraid of, the only word that was more frightening than actions to her.

He didn't care for that word. Malfunction. He looked at Phanes. He looked at her closely. Her black eyes that had life in them. Her off white, pink fur. The blood like spots on her. He had never really sat and looked at her like this. She was beautiful. The most beautiful China Doll ever to be set upon the earth. "No, Phanes. I am not malfunctioning." He paused and looked back at her eyes. "I am in love."

She watched him as his eyes viewed her, soft tail wrapping under her paw as she waited for an answer she was starting to doubt he would give. When he spoke she didn't betray her emotion of hurt, dark eyes viewing him blankly, accepting. Then he spoke again.
She stared at him, the doll like fox taking a second to actually comprehend his words. Love. He was in love with her? It suddenly seemed so frightening to admit her own attachment, for she never was a fan of emotions to begin with, much like her mother Lamia. Lamia was never able to tell Sin she loved him, but they showed it through their actions. Words were never exchanged over their mutual agreement of affection, but Phanes was not like her mother in that way.
"I love you." Such strange words she admitted.

He curled his tail around her. Tugging her a little closer. Wanting to actually wanting to snuggle with her. It was weird having felt this strong wave of emotion. He was surprised he even had emotions like this. But Phanes was different. She somehow managed to pry open his heart and let out what has been hidden inside for years.
"I love you too, Phanes."
