"...Hmm so confident with that?..." Zero thought as she took a look over her surroundings. Pretty much the same as the rest of the forest, except it didn't show much sunlight through the trees. It seemed darker than the rest of the forest due to the trees that surrounded them. "..This is it? It's better than the rest of the forest I guess... The rest of this place is too bright anyways..." She said as she finished looking around her surroundings. "...So bored... I wonder... I can pick more herbs again... Maybe try to hunt... It's better than being at staying at home or school I guess... She continued to think allowing her mind to wander off.
"...It's quiet here..." She said leaning against a tree. "...Hm, Now I'm curious... Why did I agree... Usually I don't like being around other people... Continuing to think to herself, "...Oh well, no use trying to make sense of it now..." Shaking her head began to take a look at all the different plants that surrounded them. Picking different kinds off and putting them into her bag. "Do you usually come here or what?" She asked as she continued to put the plants into her bag.

Malic & Ruby, in rule #9 of the Guild we state that...
This is a literate to adv. literate rp. I'm looking for quality over quantity. Please post from 200-500 words per post. It's really not that much, just a couple paragraphs. You may write in 3rd or 1st person in this rp. Whatever you're more comfortable with.
Please follow the rules. This is just a small reminder, if this is not fixed then I will have to give you a warning.

Thomas chuckled to himself as he heard Zero talking quietly. No doubt she was talking to him. He leaned up against a tree watching her look around. He chuckled. "Here no. UNDER here yes. C'mon I'll show you." Thomas walked over to a large tree. He bent down and pulled a string that was connected to a board under a layer of leaves. He looked at Zero. "I dug this place when i was younger. It was my own little home away from the district. I just recently made it bigger. Just big enough for two people to fit inside comfortably. I always wanted to show someone. I was just waiting for the right person." He nodded towards the hole gesturing for Zero to go inside.

Following Thomas over to the tree, she was amazed as he caught a string underneath a pile of leaves. "...Wow... Wasn't expecting that..." Zero thought as Thomas pulled on the string. Looking astonished after seeing the little hideout underneath a board. "That's impressive." She said slightly smirking. As Thomas gestured to Zero allowing her to go inside she nodded and jumped down. "...Strange...Why would he say that he was waiting for the right person to show this hideout to... I wonder..." She suspiciously thought to herself, not showing any sign of her suspicion. Taking a look around the burrow, Zero asked, " 'A little home away from the district?' Then I take it that you don't like the district anymore than any of us and wanted to make a means of escape, right?"

"Yeah. I hate it it there. I've been on my own since I was a kid. I need to get away from the stress every once in a while." Thomas said jumping down into the burrow. He picked up a lantern that was up against the wall and lit it. Next he grabbed the board and recovered the hole. He sat down and looked at Zero. "Sit. Get comfy. I don't plan on leaving for a while. But, you can leave whenever you wish." Thomas said a little nervous. "I'm sorry. I'm a bit nervous. I don't really talk to to many people. Oh, by the way. Do me a favor and please don't tell anyone about this place. Ok?"

As Thomas lit up a lantern against the wall Zero nodded, sat down and spoke, "Don't worry, I won't. I don't talk to that many people either..." She finished. "Orphaned? Well I don't blame him for hating the district." She thought."You've lost family too?" Zero asked before the silence became too awkward. "You don't have to answer my question if it seems as though I'm prying too much. It's none of my business, but I probably know the feeling..." She continued as her own curiosity was taking over.

"I lost both my mom and dad. I don't miss my dad much. I was too little to really remember him. But my mom, For years she fought depression, till one day i came home and she was hanging by her neck. She killed herself and i came in and saw her. I will always remember that day." Thomas looked at Zero and smiled. "But it's ok. I was thinking maybe we could hang out more. Then i wouldn't worry about it so much. I take it you lost family too."

Listening to Thomas, Zero thought, "I see... we're both the same..." Nodding her head she answered "...Yes, three years ago..." Vividly remembering it as if it were yesterday. "My twin sister died during the Hunger Games..." Her voice sounding monotone. "I hated the Capitol for that... In fact I still hate them." She bitterly said. "Anyway, I probably wouldn't mind hanging out, since I have nothing else to do." She said changing the subject.

Thomas nodded, talking to Zero made him feel better. Suddenly he realized he was starting to really like her. "Thanks. I could use a friend." Thomas reached into his pocket and pulled out a silver necklace. On it was a heart locket. He opened the locket and looked at the picture on one side.. The other side was empty. The picture was of Thomas's mom. The necklace was the only thing he had of hers. He handed it to Zero. "I want you to have this. You don't have to keep the picture in it if you don't want to."

It seemed talking to Thomas allowed Zero to feel relieved, she liked talking to him. Both knew what it was like to lose someone close to them, but at some level she felt as though she couldn't trust others even if she really wanted to, but tried to ignore it. "No problem, I haven't had anyone else to talk to besides my sister." Zero said as Thomas pulled out a heart locket and opened it. "That's your mother? She's pretty." She complimented. Telling her that she could have it, shocked Zero, her light blue eyes widened in shock. "A-Are you sure?" Zero asked.

"Yeah, take it. I think it would look nice on you." Thomas said. He closed his eyes for a moment. He opened the and looked at Zero. "You know, I've wanted to go into the hunger games for a long time. Ever since my mom died. I never got anything. No food. No money. Nothing. If I can get through the games my life would be so much easier. And if I won I would let you live with me. You could bring your whole family. I hate being alone anyway."

Zero gave a slight smile as she took the necklace from Thomas and put it around her neck. "Thanks...If you want you could work at my parent's shop for extra money if you need it." Zero said after listening to him wanting to be in the games. "My family runs the Apothecary shop, and I live in the 'richer' part of the district anyways." She continued. "But if you are insistent on wanting to go into the games I can loan you the book I have right now." Zero grabbed a book out of her bag and held it out for Thomas to take. "It's a plant book. Basically made up of what kind of plants are safe and which aren't." She said.

Thomas looked at Zero. "Really? You think your parents would let me work there? I mean, from what I've heard the richer part of town isn't much better off then the rest of us. I mean i would love to work there but not if it's to much of a hassle." Thomas took the book from Zero. "Thanks. I'll take car of this." Thomas smiled at Zero.

"I'm pretty sure they'd understand." Zero said, "And yes, even though the 'richer' part of town isn't that much better off, people always go to the shop because... Well it's the only place to get treatment or medicine. So there's always business." She explained. "Speaking of which...what time's my shift again?" She pondered. "I'll hold you up to that." Zero said as Thomas promised to take care of her book. "...Hmm, I think it's time to head home. Hopefully my parents will be there and I can ask." Zero said standing up and climbing out of the burrow. "You know where I live right?"
