Higher, higher, ever higher - and finally, the anger seemed to go from the gold and she turned flirtatious. Encouraged, Nachith responded with a throaty bugle of his own, looking for spaces to weave between dragons and possibly make up for lost time while he still had time; he was well aware that he couldn't last forever, and he needed to make the most of reserves more limited than a bronze's.

K'tor winced as the part of his mind that was still on the ground, caught the sound of the slap just after he saw Eirlyn turn. Her voice made him shiver and he promised to remember not to annoy her, especially not when her Gold was in Flight. He edged closer, the crowd of brown and bronze riders shifting and moving with the weaving and turning of their dragons above had meant he was back towards the rear and he shouldered his way forwards once more,.
Vulith shuddered and bugled a challenge to the dragons ahead of him. His muscles worked extra hard to gain the ground he had lost, he wasted no energy of angry tail lashing or trying to attack the other dragons now, his entire focus being Feynath, it was as if he had tunnel vision and all he could see was Her, no other dragons mattered except for him and the Gold, oh this chase was one to savor for a long time if he caught her, his own eyes losing their flickering of red and turning once more to a bright purple of lust and excitement.

Whatever loss of hope Hedereth might have previously had all but disappeared when Feynath finally began encouraging them and beckoning them forth. The bronze returned an answering bugle before once more winging forth, passing up a few of those who had fallen behind. Yes, he would come. Whether or not he could pass those in the lead though remained to be seen.
T'may was encouraged by his dragon's renewed fervor, though he was jostled partially out of the Flight-mind when a bit of shoving next to him crashed another rider next to him and nearly knocked him over. Shard it, why did everyone have to become so viscous during these things? Well, he knew it was more due to their own partners mid-flight quarrels, but still. It'd be nice if less dragons were maimed in the process as well.

The brown was lagging farther and farther back, but he was still unwilling to give up. There was always a chance that the tides could change, and if they did, he didn't want to miss it.

The encouraging bugle was a sweet, sweet sound to hear. No longer quite so enraged. It sent a wave of longing and desire through the bronze as he doubled his wingbeats. But he couldn't be foolish. Not yet. Speed was not necessarily on his side, but he had endurance. If he could just reserve some of his stamina until the right time to unleash a burst of speed, he may have a chance. Or so Keilmanth's mind tried to grasp under the heavy whispers of lust that kept overriding his intelligence. The burn of his lungs as he worked to keep enough oxygen in his body at these heights was, instead of painful, fought with a determination to prove that he could follow Feynath as high as she wanted.
Somewhere amidst the men surrounding the Weyrwoman, Az'rin had enough clarity to the heady feeling of the Flight to caution his dragon. He had to be careful in those heights. Not get overwhelmed and make a careless mistake.
Wings beating against the air, Keilmanth increased his speed slightly but kept his rider's caution in mind, not going any higher. His previous joy of participating in a chase had ebbed away to allow only the lust and he found he did want to catch her. Teasing them and looking so marvelous with that gold hide. Oh yes. He wanted to catch the Queen!

((If you've matched 3 or more numbers, you're at the very front of the pack, 1 or 2 numbers, you're in the middle, and 0 you're towards the back. Feel free to have the dragons start to get close to Feynath!)) A coy dip in the air was followed by a sharp upward curve that lost Feynath speed but also display much of her body in the process. The girth of her chest, the length of her limbs... the breadth of her wings that had carried her, and her males, so far already. Her behaviour demanded courtship, demanded to be wooed as she went along. The bronze saw this and they continued on, some laboring more strongly now. They had stamina yet but of all the dragons a gold could out fly any other colour - in terms of endurance, of course. Some had foolishly spent all of their energy already and now fought to keep going, their pride carrying them past burning lungs and aching wings. Some had been more clever, or better paced, and now held spots towards the front of the line, some vestige of speed still in reserve. They fanned out further still as the gold flirted and flashed in the air, all of the males instinctively gaining space to play the light over their straining bodies, to call and croon. Onoth moved past the preening bronzes, gaining the front of the pack once more and when Darianth saw this, the bronze swept across the sky and lashed him across the shoulder with a well placed blow of the tail. Flinching as a welt rose that would require attention, Rovarath gave up his display midstride to streak past and collided with Nananth who had had the same idea. Roaring and fury and confusion, the pair tumbled down and away, shoving and flailing until they came apart so far below it was clear they would have no chance with the Flight. Frustration swept through their riders and the dragons blinked Between and a flurry of greens rose into the air, their coy, sensual calls attracting the males and offering a much easier conquest. The riders lingered to the back of the room as well and Rovarath's rider strode from the group to take one woman and kiss her hard on the lips, a ragged, wild passion about him. The other shouldered through the greenriders as his dragon chased a green, and found his way to a waiting, smiling cavern worker.

Vulith finally managed to catch up to the main pack of dragons chasing Feynath now, his wings ached but he wasn't about to drop out like a weakling. He was going to show Feynath it was HIM she should choose, his focus staying with her he crooned lovingly to her as he drew closer and closer, trying to entice her into letting him snare her in his talons, to tangle with him in the air as he had with many greens before, he knew what he was doing in that regards anyway. Catching the Gold was one thing he'd not been able to achieve just yet.. but he would and it would be GLORIOUS!
below them K'tor moved closer to Eirlyn, if he just reached out in front of him he could touch her but he didn't dare, not unless Vulith caught Feynath, otherwise he would be in for a world of pain, he reckoned anyway. Just as it was the Dragon that chose, the rider also chose. She could have holed away with someone of her choosing to bed with but instead she had allowed herself to be crowded by a bunch of horny, lusty men. He respected her strength of character and he wasn't about to sully that by grabbing any part of her like he suspected other men with lagging dragons were trying to do.
Vulith was closer, not close enough to snare her but close enough that this was a real challenge now. He was against a few others and all of them striving to be the one that sired the clutch that would appear on the sands, all trying to be this Gold's weyrmate. Truly this was an honorable chase and he would do his utmost to catch her.

Calanoth eyed the bronzes ahead of him warily as they fought and squabbled. Let them take each other out. As Feynath curved in the air above them he twisted his neck to watch her, crooning and undulating, flashing his own patterned hide right back at her. He arched to follow her change in direction. Nothing fancy, he had to conserve what strength was left in him if he was to win her.
Z'fer took a deeper breath as the crowd around Eirlyn thinned. His face still smarting from the reprimand. He wanted her. Bad. The slap had only goaded him. He wanted to conquer her, to give as good as he got, not in violence but in passion. He wanted it rough. A shiver of excitement trickled down his back. It was all he could do to keep from grabbing her right there in front of the others.

Jacith was at the front of the group. The brown, though he had believed he was tiring, was immensely pleased about this. He would show those bronzes! He would win! He paid no attention to the callings of greens. The gold was the one that mattered! He did not care for the struggle or difficulty--he would succeed despite this! For the Weyr, for his!
He followed the gold, in movement, and in attempt in matching her speed. He dipped after her, and curved upward. He would match her. He would catch her.

Sermianth warbled to Feynath. He had caught his breath and was happy with his position. For the moment. Now he could sing his love song and bring the great gold to him. His deep voice rang out over the clouds. He was determined to have her attention. Not having any fancy moves ready, because he wasn't that kind of dragon, the brown made some up. He flashed his wings open and closed. Letting himself drop like a stone for a couple feet then swooping back up. In a spiral maneuver, his forelegs brushed through some clouds. The white wisps trailing behind him as his path marker.
The brown swirled as two bronzes smashed into each other and went down. That was two less than he had to deal with later. He still had to watch the others; one might get it into his head to rid the Flight of browns. Sermianth would attempt to take anyone down with him should they try to knock him down. He roared at the bronzes, mocking them for their tiny efforts. Couldn't the queen see they weren't so great? Obviously a brown was a better choice.

A smug sort of satisfaction passed through Nachith's mind as two of the chasing bronzes effectively took each other out of the competition - that was what happened when you tried to play dirty! In the middle of the pack, the brown continued to mind his own business, to focus on his own flying...which was getting progressively harder as the Flight wore on. Much longer at all and he'd be out.

The lust coursing through him as the queen showed herself off drove Hedereth absolutely mad, and before he knew it he had managed to slip into the very front of the pack. Multi-faceted eyes whirled a vivid purple As he watched the gleaming hide before him, well-admiring the full and shapely figure of the gold that they chased. It wouldn't be enough to simply catch her though; he had to show that he was worthy. The bronze let out a lust-filled bugle to catch her attention before dipping a bit in the air, letting the sun shine off of his own rather nicely patterned wings. Aside from simply showing off, however, the move also had a bit of a tactical aspect to it: as soon as there was an opening he intended to swoop in and catch her from beneath. Let the glorious queen ride on top, as she well deserved.
On the ground T'may had once again forced his way back into the core group of bronze riders. They may have fallen behind before, but victory was so close now that he could practically feel it. Just a little bit closer....

Krith had finally made it to the middle of the pack, and he soared gracefully after the queen. His wings didn't ache yet, having been able to conserve most of his energy, and he pushed himself on. Perhaps there was still a chance for him, and he bugled loudly, in both triumph and challenge.

Once again, some of the other bronzes seemed to have gotten too close or let lustful rage take over their senses. Two found themselves preoccupied with trying to get a score on one another that both ended up tumbling almost into the rest of the group before regaining themselves. But they were too far below the chasers now. Keilmanth himself had tucked wing and rolled out of the way quickly to avoid being thwacked. It cost him and the bronze beat his wings in powerful downstrokes, using up some of the strength and stamina he'd been reserving to gain back the distance lost. A growl escaped his throat as his wings started to ache slightly. No! He was not anywhere ready to be finished with this flight! Not after Feynath was giving them such a lovely display of her golden hide.
Wings aching dully but not uncomfortably, Keilmanth managed to make his way back to his previous distance between himself and Feynath. And then some. He glanced around, noting that there were less dragons this close. This seemed to encourage him and the bronze gave each of his fellow dragons a slight dip of his head then directed his attention to the Gold one. He rumbled flirtatiously towards her but refrained from getting any closer. Yet. Not yet. The chase was still on!

Flarneth watched as the lead dragons shoved and moved each around to get a better spot in the flight. He was in the middle of the group, trying to keep a clear area around him with his tail twitching and swiping at anyone getting to close behind him. It was all the male could do at this moment. His lungs were getting raw with the chase.
K'lat could feel the pain in his shoulders from where the large browns wings were starting to ache. It felt close to him losing more speed and maybe giving a good push at the end with the energy saved up. Come on boy, you can show those bronzes what you are made of.
