Guardian? Huh. So it was more like a Master. Very odd that he would choose those sorts of flowery words for it, but he supposed that suited his friend. Although the situation didn't, really. His lips pursed as he slowly, carefully, gently just in case the horse boil had some kick left in him, patted his shoulder and gave an affirming grunt and nod.
"What-did-Master-M-do?" He wasn't about to figure out how to sign-spell "Murchadh"

Calder frowned. "Don't...call him Master. Just...Mister." It was just a tad better. It sent down shivers to have Master placed before Murchadh's abbreviation.
Somber, he stared at the floor. "He wants me to come home." His brow creased as he glared at the ground. "....for good."

That made Christof scoot forward even more, giving a few urgent grunts as he patted the Kelpie's leg for attention, "Will-not-allow-it! Will-crush-him-first! You-belong-here."

He couldn't help but smile at the enthusiasm Chrsitof had in crushing Murchadh, but he knew it wouldn't happen. He wouldn't allow the Igor anywhere near him for his safety. While he had seen how strong the patchwork was, he knew he'd get badly hurt if he went up against a Lead. "Don't worry. I'm not going anywhere." He said, patting his friend's hand a moment, before his smile sank away.
Sighing, he leaned back. "I just got to think of something I can learn here that I couldn't learn back at home yet is something that would be beneficial to my clan. He thinks I'm just goofing off around here and being lazy. That I'm dodging my responsibilities to my kind." Maybe he was. Was that so bad? He wanted to learn things and live a little. He loved being here. In no way would he have made this many friends and learned so many interesting things back at home, with his parents or with Murchadh's band.
"I thought getting into my clan would be more fun than this." It wasn't anything that he expected.

"You-have-clan-here. Better-clan." Christof gave a grunt as he signed this with sharp, pointed motions. His hands lowered, eyes searching the Kelpie's miserable face with an anxious look. Lips pursed, he shifted, before gently reaching to first pat Calder's shoulder, but then left his hand there before smiling hopefully.

Calder gave another flash of a smile at that. It was cute to say, and he appreciated Christof's sentiment. Maybe it said something that Christof would admit they were a clan here now, a group, a family, and in some showed some sort of progress to the Igor he once had been, but reflecting on that, Calder wondered if he had progressed in any way. Had he really improved or was he the little colt that Murchadh was treating him as.
"We are............." He confirmed, but the flickering smile had burned out as quickly as the ones before it. At any other time, he could wear a smile easily even if they were sometimes for show, but he didn't have it in him right now. Things were serious and he felt troubled by them. ".....I just want to make my parents proud." And the only way he felt he could do that was by being an upstanding member in the Devon Clan because in the end....when school was over........he'd have to rely on that clan.
The idea of school ending after graduation reminded him that even if Murchadh did allow him to stay in school, even that was temporary.

"Then-we-will. Your-creators-will-be-proud-to-have-sent-you-here! Strongest-kelpie! Make-them-all-look-like-horses," Christof ended his signing with a hand patting his own arm muscle as though to emphasize, giving yet another grunt and a nod.

His shoulders shook as he placed a hand over his mouth, stifling a laugh. "I wish." And at the pat, he nodded slightly to his friend. "Thank you."

The hunchback seemed to be debating his options, watching the miserable horse-boil with a look of growing concern.
Timidly, he reached out, rather glad they were alone as he pulled him into a hug.

The hug was unexpected, as any hug from Christof was, but it was well received and after a few moments, felt as if it was needed. He lingered in the hold for as long as the Igor tolerated before sitting back up. 'Thanks." He smiled. "You're getting soft on me." He said with a smile, before wincing at the sting to his eye when he grinned. "Okay....maybe not." He said.
