Bellatrix grits her teeth against the jarring, and her grip on her sword slips a little.

Taking a precious moment to tighten it, and another one to face him again, shw swing up at him again, hoping to at least hit him again. . . .

Signis had been slow to put his blade back into the ready position...

It cost him... quite a bit...

Her blade came up and the tip of her sword caught him at the top of his hip on the left side, and as it continued upwards it caught him clear across the stomach and chest. He didn't flinch, the pain shook the void but he was able to maintain it, even as the blood started to flow down the long gash.

Tis just a flesh wound... Signis thought to himself as he slid into his ready stance again and struck down at her again with the flat of his blade.

What he didn't think about... was the fact that he was losing blood... Quickly.

Bellatrix blocks the blade, and ducks under it.

The void has already come crashing down. The odd feeling of guilt, and panic, are coursing through her now.

"Snap out of it, you idiot," she says, moving the few steps it takes to get over to him. She slaps at his face, and then leans down to stare at his wound.

Oh no, she thinks, studying it. What have I done?

"Lie down," she snaps, staring at him with hard eyes. Though, that isn't completely masking the guilt and panic she is feeling. And, stubbornly, she is not going back to her cave for supplies and the potions until he is on the flat of his back. . . .

Signis grumbled, and lowered his blade, then did as she asked. "It's just a flesh..." He started to pale a little and he closed his eyes. "Okay... Maybe... help..." He said weakly.

He didn't notice the nicely growing pool of blood starting to work around him, or the small puddle that had formed while he'd moved. No, right now the only thing he noticed was the BLINDING pain from his hip up...

"You had better be awake when I get back, Signis," she says, grabbing at the cloth under the leather of her skirt, and cutting it out with her blade. She presses down on the wound, hard, and then grabs his hands. "And you better still have pressure on at least some of this, or I will kill you."

With that, she sprints toward her cave, bringing the top over herself as she does so.

When she comes back, which isn't too long as she is in high-gear now, she has the big box in her hands. She drops down beside Signis, eyeing him as she opens the box, pulling out supplies and potions as she does so. "Are you still with me, Signis?" she asks, even as she is dabbing a whole bunch of the potion on some cloth.

Signis nodded weakly. "... Barely..." He murmured, still keeping pressure on the cloth she'd left, which by now was very, very red. He groaned and his face contorted in pain again. "You... good... got..." He said with a light, slightly chuckling tone.

"Shut up," she snaps, trying to keep back her worry.

She pulls the saturated cloth away from the wound, and presses the one that she soaked with potion.

Lenore left her some that are faster-acting than that one she used earlier, in the case of this sort of thing.

Biting her lower lip, and her face twisted in concentration, she pushes the wound hard, letting the potion work it's way into it.

It should already be starting to work. The wound should be closing. There will be some pain, and it will take a minute or two, but it will work. . . .

Signis bit down HARD on his tongue to keep from crying out, though tears did come to his eyes from the pain and he tried to fight the thrashing of his muscles so he didn't hurt her accidently as she was trying to help him. His muscles seemed to be twitching quickly as he grunted and panted, already tasting blood from where he'd bit his tongue a bit TOO hard. He kept his eyes shut and panted when the pain started to pass, feeling the wound start to close up.

It was a relief, and he was rather glad it had been HIM to recive this sort of injury and not Bellatrix, he'd of never forgiven himself if he'd let himself hurt her like that. He had more control than that however, even as a beserker. Besides, his beserker self only cared about the number of wounds, he never left large ones, more because it was better and it made the enemy bleed out faster than one large one... Besides, large wounds tended to scar.

Of course, scars were the last thing on his mind right then, keeping his eyes shut and panting as he was, his only thought was that he was A) Alive, and B) Within a stone's throw of Bellatrix's bedroom.

He didn't want to be babied, far from it, though a little TLC wouldn't kill him, maybe a few tender kisses and some nice cuddling would make him feel a lot better too...

Would he fess up to that vocally? Oh HELL NO! Of course not! That would make him look weak! And being weak around Bellatrix was NOT something Signis had on his list of things to do in the next few MILLENUM, let alone the nest few minutes, hell seconds even! He would try to be as hard as nails and as tough as rawhide leather for her.

He wanted to exude power for her, be the strong man he knew she in her heart desired. He wanted her to see him and be smitten, yet, still maintian that air of power she herself generated. If anything, he wanted an equal, and he'd found it once again in Bellatrix.

Of course, this line of thought left him suspended in his mind over a few choice oaths to use for the pain, but he bit them back, even though he knew Bellatrix swore, he felt it would be better to keep form utter a few of the more colorful phrases that came to mind right now.

After all Bellatrix WAS a lady, and one musten swear around a lady, tis bad form.

Not that he really GAVE a s**t right then, he was in a bit of pain. Thankuflly it was SLOWLY going away.

So he lay there for a bit, trying to slow his breathing, get it back into a normal rate. His heart was beating a bit fast too, probably from the endorphines and adrenline from his wounding, he hoped it slowed down too, no need for it to be pounding off like a scared rabbit.

Finally after a long moment of silence...

"Guardians DAMNIT that fugging hurt like Hell!"

The tears in Signis's eyes have a strange effect on Bellatrix. . . .

She feel even guiltier when she sees them, and miserable. Maybe it is because of these new feelings that she had been pressing harder on the wound than she really needed to.

And, she doesn't see him as weak, not at all. If it were her in his position, she would be tearing up as well. A situation like this, with the pain, yeah. It is merrited.

Truth is, she is kicking herself for not being more careful! She should have used the flat of her blade. . . .

No time to think of what she should have done. And, she can't let worry cloud her mind. . . .

Even now that she takes her hand from the wound, and sees a fainter scar than what should have been there, she still has this overwhelming need to just take care of Signis.

She gives a strangled laugh when he curses, and her eyes take on that soft quality again, that seems to battle with the wicked features of her face.

Lifting a bloody hand to her face, she puts her bangs behind her ear, and leans forward, pressing her lips against where the too-narrow scar that she left on him starts, letting the soft kiss linger.

"I'm so sorry, Signis," she says, keeping her face close to scar. She needs a second, to compose herself. She doesn't want him to see everything she is feeling, as her thoughts are running along the same lines as his: She will NOT be weak in front of him. She shudders a little and bites her lower lip again, hoping the pain will snap her out of whatever the hell sort of mood she is in now.

Sitting up, and with a small smile on her lips, she says, "I will not allow you to go home, now. I want to watch over you, at least for the night, and part of tomorrow. I will take no arguments from you, Signis, so do not even try. Are we clear?" she ends, her voice firm, her lips pursed a little. She brings her bloodied hands into her lap, and clasps them there, a little too tightly - the only outward sign of her worry and guilt that she has overlooked.

Signis looks up at her and he smiled. "No apologies..." he chuckled and slowly tried to sit up, and found that he couldn't... Not JUST yet. "I don't need any apologies Bellatrix, you did what you should have, it was my fault for not readying my blade fast enough, it's a mistake I will not make again..." He chuckled and lay there.

He was half tempted to argue with her, just for the hell of it, but he shook his head. "Alright, I will submit to your request," He said with a nod. She was NOT going to command him. He smiled at her. "Besides, I like your cave..." He chuckled.

Bellatrix nods, turning her eyes away from him. She has a moment to think that, had she been more skilled with her sword, she would have automatically kept the flat of her blade aimed, instead of slicing at Signis with the edge. She will just have to work on it. She won't be the reason he has more scars.

Even if those are useful, and she likes the look of them on him.

Standing, she takes a moment to ties the straps of her dress together, before looking down at Signis. "It's settled then," she says, unsmiling now. She bends, and grabs up her sword, before sheathing it, and crossing her arms under her chest. "Do you think you can walk? We'll get back to the cave, and I'll get all of that blood off of you. . . ." She wants to clean up, too. The drying blood on her hands does't feel very good to her. . . . Probably because of whos it is.

Signis gritted his teeth and slowly started to sit up, he then stood, shaking and reaching for his blade, stabbing it into the earth to support him. He nodded his head. "I can..." He chuckled weakly, shaking his head. "I'm only injured, not invalid..."

She watches him stand shakily, and frowns a little. Does she want to risk offending him by offering to help him back to the cave, or does she want to risk him possibly sapping the energy out of him and let him walks halfway to the cave, only to have him pass out, and then have to drag him there anway?

Inwardly sighing, Bellatrix walks to his side and looks up at him. She decides to leave it up to him. That way, if he passes out, it won't be her fault. She manages another small smile. "You can lean on me as we walk if you want," she says. Then, decides in this sort of situation, it might be best to allow him just a smidgen of control, and let him decide when they start walking toward the cave.

Signis nodded his head and did just that, he knew his limits and right now walking unaided would have sapped more strength than he had. He waited a few moments, and slowly started walking, leaning on her, but not too heavily, not wanting to wear her down too. He sighed and ran a finger weakly down the scar. "A mistake I will not make again..." He murmured.

Bellatrix puts a bracing arm around his waist, and starts to walk at his pace. When she hears his words, she glances up at him.

She actually takes a moment to close her eyes, and leans her head on him. She nuzzles her cheek into him, briefly, before staring straight ahead again. She couldn't explain why she did it, it just seemed the right thing to do at the time.

And, she is not going to think about it now.

When they reach the cave, she takes a bit more control, and steers Signis toward her bedroom. Once in there, she looks up at him again. "Lie down, I will go change and take a moment to clean up. I'll be back with some cloths and water for you. I have some food if you want it. Lenore insists I keep some fruit around, and some other things, in case I have company," she smiles again.
