Eventually Freya pushed herself up to a seated position. It was the explosions she heard while she was face down on the floor that had her getting up, but just barely. All she could see was Calder, a couch, some hunters, and - wait, that couch was very thorny.
"BARTH!" They'd found him! She tried to stumble to her feet, making a beeline diagonally over to the couch, and tumbling against it. Her knees gave before she made it, and she just managed to get her arms on the couch, when she realized the thorns were moving.
Attacking.
Oh, hello hunter.
Had she noticed his weapon, she would have flung herself at him. As it was, however, Freya was a little distracted with something else.
".. Christof? Herryk?" She looked around the room, panic starting to sink in. "Herryk?"
She hadn't seen him dissipate.
"HERRYK!?!"
Had he not followed? Was he still at the hub? She could have sworn.. but no, Christof was missing too. And she knew he was determined to head in. So then..
Her eyes rested on Calder, bright with fear. The hunter was all but ignored.

((Hi I am a Proxy Post for Huni Pi.))
When the thorns pierced through fabric and into flesh, Before let out a snarl and stomped down on the thorns. Teal eyes followed the trail of pricks back to the couch. In any other circumstance, Before would have simply thrown his weapon at the couch, but Tika was sleeping on it along with Private Ryan.
If his attack hits Private Ryan, well, oops to that. Except he remembered Clarice's instructions of treating their "bait" like a future partner and he didn't want to risk drawing either Clarice's or Dr. H's ire. Not after seeing the pendants...
Speaking of bait, it seemed Private Ryan was doing his job because he remembered that winged creature. She'd been standing guard of Conan and if Before remembered correctly, "Hey, it's Polly."

Seems like the mere intention to attack the winged creature was upsetting to the room because Before was once again sent soaring.

"Fu-" She knew that something bad was going to happen the moment the room started to make odd sounds. True enough, the room sent everyone flying up, effectively destroying their plan.
Thankfully she did not land on a trap - that would be such a waste of trap.

Now, Barth tested the scarf his claws were bound with, flexing his claws ever-so-slightly. He concentrated. He concentrated on Calder - Freya's voice was nearby too. Who he couldn't hear worried him. His throat felt tight. He tried not to think about it right now.
He had to focus on the task at hand.
Slime whorled into the scarf, some of it being absorbed and mopped up, but the slime got thicker, and thicker, and thicker, until like a slug it dragged itself over the back of the couch, and with a wet splash, it was growing, looming tall, almost person sized. It swirled into various shapes and colors, puke-green, milky white, and aquamarine, unsure of itself. It was a giant glop of goo.
"Protect Calder," Barth instructed, worming and trying to loose his wrists from the now-sloppy restraints.

"Barth, your target of attack are the Halloween creatures," She yelled, picking herself up from the ground with a groan as she avoided the tiles with the traps on them, running towards the winged one that looked rather weak.
"KINTAMA."

He was stepping towards the couch, one leg lifted to rest against the cushions when it happened - a low, ominous rumbling sound and then he was airborne, along with the rest of the people in the room.
<< Fire and damnation - they're here. >>
Jinhai's voice was a low, angry hiss, and it was followed closely by a series of swear words from the one who held him. Gale spun around, catching his footing unsteadily, his legs wobbling on the rumbling floor.
He stabilized himself just in time to see one of the creatures dissipate in a cloud of smokey dust, another taken out by a quick whiplash from Ariane's chains. And the demon on the couch had awoken, something slimey, gooey, and disgusting slipping and sliding off and heading in the direction of the one remaining creature - a boy (Or was it a girl? Gale could not really tell) with what appeared to be hoofs instead of feet and a pale, pointed face.
Gale threw his leg up onto the arm of the chair and propelled himself upwards onto it, leaping down onto one of the cushions and raising the rifle to point directly at the last creature, the blobby thing created by Barth maneuvering itself protectively in front of him.
It was really a rather disgusting thing, whatever it was. Gale cocked the rifle, still directed towards the hoofed creature.

Calder, in no better condition than Freya, had been happy to have Herryk and Christof around because of their size, strength, and good health. He had been relying on it for this mission, and when he heard explosions shortly after landing, one so close by that he reared back, he knew he was screwed. He had seen Herryk fall right beside him, but the moment he landed, light flashed in his eyes and blinded him temporarily. When he came back to seeing and hearing, he noticed they were not alone. Not only that, but there was other explosions, and when he saw Freya and no one else, he panicked. The ghoul seemed to share his distress.
It all happened so quickly. He was paniking when he saw his friends gone. Not captured, but just gone, and he looked to Freya. He had seen Herryk seconds ago before -
"Freya, these tiles explode. Like the swamp room but worse!" He didn't know what she would do about the fact that Herryk had just vanished because of it. He'll go to the yard. He'll go to the yard. It will be okay.
When the ghoul raced to Barth, Calder rose up too. He just wanted Barth. Wanted to hold him. Tell him he was sorry for being such a failure. That they were here for him at long last. Rising, he moved over to the couch. "Barth!" He cried, and would have fully cried if his eyes weren't already beat read and having a hard time trying to drag out any tears. However, despite it all, they managed to get moist. Kelpies, always with water, and it seemed he was going to use up all his crying today.
No soon had Calder made it to the couch, tried to reach out to finally touch Barth - hold him and prove to himself he was real and okay, one of the humans jumped before him, and a slime beast soon after that. Slime?
Calder knew that slime. He fought Barth in practice once before. "You horrible creatures! He never did anything to you! He never did anything to anyone!" Or anything at all. He flared his nostrils, glaring at the human. Oh, he could smell it now. Human flesh and meat, and like his mother had warned him, humans captured. They would try and tame them all. "You will give him back. He's MINE!"

[[ Landed on D5 - Couch ]]
Bix heard the rumble and barely had a moment to get out words when the room was thrown into turmoil. Thankfully he landed square on the couch, barely missing stepping on Tika's face. He gave her a shake with one of his feet. "Tika!!"
Gale landed right next to him and he couldn't help giving his friend a wry grin that they were safe and sound on the cushioned furniture. Being the ranged attackers it was a wonderful coincidence. He watched as the mines did their job, taking out two of the Halloweeners but also hitting Before.
"s**t.." He adjusted his bow, unaware that the boil close to them had been the same horse he'd shot out on the field. "Back off!"

Bix noticed the demon squirming. Was he doing things? There was a goo thing and thorns seemed to be snaking out towards his team mates.
"Shifty demon b*****d.." Bix frowned. Ariane had commanded him to attack his own team mates but that didn't stop Bix from kicking him since they were currently sharing the same piece of orange furniture.
"Do what she says!" He got no satisfaction from her ordering him to fight his friends. He kicked out with a foot but not very hard, just enough for the demon to be aware of who was captive and who was captor.

The goo-lem hulked beside Calder, appendages clenching and unclenching into messy fists.
The Command shot out across the room, and nearby he could hear weapons crunching into Freya. The thorns twisted with the Order. His body bucked. He pulled harder at the slimy bonds, feeling like his shoulders might wrench out at any second.
He answered the kick with a seething hiss.
"Like hell I will,"
One claw slid free of the scarf, and with the Order burning his limbs and his blood, the thorns writing harder than he had twisted into the couch, he reached for his throat.

His claws dug into his own chest and neck. He couldn't...he wouldn't...blood trailed the scratches, and the thorns coiled up and around his body.
"Both of you," he gasped, "the pendant. Get away from the couch."

As soon as the attack hit, she found herself flung into the air, landing painfully on a tile a moment later. After swearing loudly and ignoring the pain everywhere, she did a quick survey of the room and navigated her way back to the rest of the team, where the pony she had attacked earlier on the field was yelling something.
... He's mine?
Ha, so those two were more than just friends? A horse and a lazy bones... How odd.
She frowned when the demon decided to go for himself; he was a Halloween creature too... Heh, doesn't matter. As long as he kept his dirty little claws and thorns off her team.
