zrofyre You know what we need? A parrot. ( Or a monkey, but a parrot is cool too. Cats would be best, but they might not like the flying thing )Many sailing ships have what are called a ship's cat to control the population of rodents and mice for health reasons. Just because our ship is up in the air and not floating in water, it doesn't mean we cannot have one also. Most cat breeds are physically unable to swim and would drown, so I think an airship would have one also. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ship's_cat

zrofyre Sachie Whitby Rose Kittens Aham....so does this mean, I am to be a quartermaster or am I to be a musician like???? I am terribly confused..though I am trying to be a musician.. any more suggestions? I think you should be what you want to be. Seconded. If a musician you want to be . . . then be. Apparently ( looking through some info ) musicians were highly prized, sought after / fought for, shanghaied . Hmm..does this mean musicians are a bad guy type? Or do you mean they were usually kidnapped? Or do you mean that they are a trickster? I am quite confused to see which definition of Shanghaied I should think of..Perhaps you mean a completely different one?

nightscapture Princess Angelishia nightscapture So how about I become the Gunner? (Look it up if you don't know what it is) Sorry! That's taken too! By Harmonic. The flirtatious marksman. Please look at the list on the first page. ♥
Sorry, I didn't see that! Well...I'm kind of out of ideas right now. The only thing I can think of is shipwright... You don't have to settle for something you don't want! There are plenty of options, mentioned in both threads. Trust me, I know it's hard to get caught up! Everyone's been posting so much! But please try to at least read through this topic. It was created after you got here, so it should be manageable. There are lots of good suggestions for characters here. Just be creative! Anything not on the list on page one is open! ♥

Hey! I wasn't 100% clear on what you wanted. I changed your position to musician. ♥ If that's not what you want, please just let me know!

Maybe you're a musician who likes to travel and would join up with groups of adventurers, then later sing songs of their exploits in taverns as a means of earning your income. Lately, you've taken up a position on an airship. If you've seen movies like Master and Commander, there are scenes where people are telling stories that everyone probably heard hundreds of times or people are playing music instruments for entertainment. There's not a lot to do on a ship for entertainment if you're out at sea [or the air] and you're in an era without things like televisions or computers. Musicians help fill a vital role in that by entertaining the ships officers and crew, they do help keep morale up.

I have a Bibbles. It's probably not the most idea choice as all the images of real ship's cats I've seen are short hair kitties, but everything we're doing is fanciful so a fluffy long-hair cat probably could work too!

Would it be a traditional cat with usual cat behaviours ( i.e.: expecting us to feed it, demanding meows for attention but not wanting attention as soon as you give it . . ) or would it be a scurvy cat with a patch and peg leg, rough growl and crazy fur sticking up everywhere?

Oh, I meant the kidnapped style, where they are so coveted that pirates would poach each other's musicians.

I think Bibbles would be cool, it would think it was the captain of the ship, following people around and meowing orders at them. ( at least in my head that is what bibbles would do )

My cat item *points at avatar* isn't exactly a scurvy cat with a patch and peg leg.... more of the kind of cat that does very important lap sitting and kills mice for fun.

( I think that cat's think that we are their servants, just sometimes, but I think I might feed into that ideal as well ) Killing mice only for fun though. The idea of eating the mice! oh, what common fare! Maybe a bit of steamed and then saute'ed duck breast with a bit of Royal Blue Stilton on the side.

Actually, all cats will kill things like mice even if they are not specifically hungry or want to eat it. Humans are not the only living things that will engage in hunting purely for sport.

Some nice, elaborate cushion of some form. there would need to be a tailor / seamstress of some kind to maintain the seat. Look, I created a whole new role.
