Jerome knew this question was going to come up, and he wasn't about to tell this guy to much about himself.
He though of something quickly and... turned out it was relatively true.
"Don't live around here. I can't be here."
He frowned softly "Its cause of me she's in this mess to begin with, The more time I spend with her, the more of a reason Griffin's got to come after this place, With more then just those wet nose punks they barely initiated"

Some how it seemed like there was more to it then him simply not living around here but Shizuo took his half truth. Even the add-on about it being his fault didn't quite tell the rest of the story. But everyone had their secrets and the bodyguard wasn't one to pry, not normally anyway.
"Alright, I can watch out for her. But it would have to be at a sporadic time once I find a paying job." It might have been a slight dig to see if Jerome was willing to pay, and it might not. Either way Shizuo knew he had to find a paying job in order to be of use to anyone.

"You take care of her, you make sure she's safe, and don't be ********' with me over all this, and I'll make sure ya get payed."
One way or the other, Jerome would get the money to this guy if he did the job he needed to, and wasn't some kind of freak, or conman.
Ideally she would be able to get out of this part of the city, even better would be if she could just get out of this city all together. find someplace to put her shop where she won't be harassed by street shits like himself.

Shizuo didn't look at Jerome in disbelief since he didn't look like he had enough money for a long term body guard contract. He was practiced enough that looks like that never came from him any more. But if he said he would get the money then who was he to argue? "My word as a bodyguard, no harm will come to her so long as she is under my protection." When he made an oath on his honor as a bodyguard, he took seriously no matter who he was protecting.
His record was something he was proud of, having never lost some one under his protection before, and he planned on keeping that record.

Even though they weren't speaking loudly, it wasn't hard to hear them--Izumi's apartment wasnt terribly big, after-all. "I-it isn't your fault, Jerome..." It wasn't anyone's fault, at least in her eyes. Maybe except for the Griffs themselves. "U-um... I-if you trust him... I'll go..." She still wasn't so sure about this, and it was plain to see the worry on her face, but Jerome hadn't steered her wrong yet.

Jerome kept his eyes locked onto Shizou, not making any comment after the promise the man made.
Jerome didn't seem impressed, or convinced, but if he felt that way, he certainly didn't voice it.
He looked away though, and over to the women sitting on the couch as she spoke.
"Right now seems like the only option we got." He said, turning to face her more fully. "It'll be good, till somethin' else is figured out."
He didn't make a comment about it not being his fault.
There was a lot about him he never told her, and she probably didn't even figure out for herself.
But he supposed, in a way, it was more of a bad situation rather then anything he himself did. He still felt responsible.
He shrugged lightly, lowering his gaze casually. "S'go deal with this kids, then you should call the cops." He said mostly to Shizou, before starting toward the steps.
"Chill up here with Bro Ink."

Shizuo watched Jerome and Izumi talk as he mentally thought over any possible changed that needed to be taken care of. The main thing he would have to take care of when he got home was make sure the apartment was stalked with enough food for the both of them plus their pokemon. Normally he didn't have to worry bout buying pokefood but he wasn't sure what types the girl sitting in front of him had.
His thoughts were interrupted when Jerome addressed him and started walking down stairs. Shizuo looked at him for a moment, glanced over at Izumi, then followed after the slightly shorter man. There really was no need to respond to that so he just kept silent for now.

"A-alright..." Izumi watched the two men go down the stairs. She turned and looked at the Gengar who was left with her. "...H-hi, um... Bro." The girl wrapped her arms around her legs, hugging them to her chest, turning into a little Izumi-ball. It was so... scary... everything being thrown into chaos all of the sudden, not knowing what she was going to do.
