Benitoite was normally one for arrogant comments and the like, but he didn't speak. He wanted to sneer, glare, and make comments on his two fellow Lieutenants. Even he knew their behavior was far from appropriate, and he was new to all of this and still hadn't truly grasped this war concept. He knew this was war, accepted that, knew there was fighting and people would die. But it hadn't actually touched him yet, it hadn't tainted him. He wasn't even the type for a military structure and taking orders from people he didn't even know. But he knew right now to mind himself and mind himself well, and he was.

A small shake of his head as he listened to Garnet talk on and on, such foolish behavior from someone who had to be his own age or thereabouts. It was frightening to think of her, and that other one, involved in a war. Did they have any clue? Not that he even fully had a clue, but they were even more clueless.

Listening to the words spoken by the General Queen, keeping his eyes from lingering too long on her inhuman form, he heard her speak of such atrocities he knew they had in fact been committed and by senshi. He hadn't been given details about the senshi involved or the actions committed. But he knew now, or had more of a clue then he previously had. The Generals Queen would surely answer every question pertaining to this matter, or perhaps that pink haired one who seemed like some wild animal eying it's prey.

He wouldn't speak, wouldn't question. He would trust and not blindly. He had not yet been lead astray nor had he been blindly led by anyone. They wouldn't break from that.

Watching the two be thrown out the window he felt no pity, to behave in such a manner it was truly their own fault. Staying at Painite's side he didn't turn his head toward the corrupted senshi with the cracks. He'd caught a glimpse of her and averted his gaze then, he didn't think it appropriate to make comments or ask about that here and now. He would later.

As the General Queen continued he took it all in, what these senshi would do and what they'd want from them. Could he handle something like that? Even if he couldn't it didn't matter. He didn't know anyone's civilian self, well aside from four people. He was otherwise clueless and he wouldn't give them up, they were friends. The only way to avoid such a situation was to avoid being captured, right? He'd just hope for a fast death should he be caught, that the pain was too much and he died from shock, or that he was rescued real fast, before he died. He had no plans to give people up though, risk their lives and their families.

Finally he spoke, to answer that single question. "Yes ma'am." Firm and sharp, confident.

Serandite had been kneeling with the other generals. It happened every meeting-- the discord of agreement and dissent and the voicing of opinions. Uncharacteristically, knowing her nature, she had never spoken up even once. If not for the lowering of her chest and the occasional lift of her gaze, her presence could be compared to that of a rock.

The only exceptions was Alkaid and Apatite. Alkaid's appearance, naturally, drew many eyes, Serandite being no exception. The corners of her lips lifted, as if a chuckle of approval might be voiced but the sound never came. Or perhaps, it had been drowned out in the sounds of everything else. Eventually, whether it was in the near or far future, Serandite might obtain the chance to congratulate Alkaid but the time surely wasn't now.

Concerning Apatite .. Well, the pink-haired General queen always had quite a rosy way of approaching matters. A rose with many many thorns. Apatite had always earned Serandite's sincere regard and respect, the female playing a crucial role in Serandite's development. Her hand lifted to brush her fingers against Serandite's lips, as if stifling something, her head slightly turning to the side. Even a general wouldn't dare to have the audacaity to laugh-- Look where that had gotten a few others in. The situation held little amusement .. unless you counted Apatite's little "Bella" bit. Having recently watched the franchise of the vampire series, Serandite realized that Apatite's hatred was well-founded.

But Tanzanite did often have a way of dampening even those mite-sized forms of amusement. Her eloquence pierced the heart-- Serandite was becoming used to that. It was bold to state that her words had more influence then their Queen Beryl .. and yet, that would simply be a ill-mannered truth.

There were many parts of each other that Serandite and Tanzanite didn't know. But what little they knew was what mattered. Tanzanite knew Serandite. Therefore, the hand that reached up to brush her fingers against the edge of Tanzanite's winged-arms. Paralleling to the show of contact that had given a lieutenant the coldest shower of a lifetime, one had to hope that Serandite wasn't about to experience the same. As though one picked up the ends of a dress or taking one's gloved hand in a form of courtship, carefully and preciously, Serandite's fingers curled lightly, to squeeze gently .. As if that was her answer.

There was no need for words.

The small gesture was quiet and brief, Serandite's hands returning to the blackness of her kimono sleeves, lost, as the sleeves returned to trail amongst the ground. At one point, Serandite had been a child in this army. That had disappeared some time ago .. Serandite wasn't entirely sure when.

Sassolite had been to the side for the meeting, she had ignored the gasps or surprise when they were told that they were losing and instead just tried to work out how that was the case. She listened as all the others mentioned their own problems with that but yet was it surprising? The senshi were popping up everywhere even in children, they were trying something, Sass was sure of it but yet it was the zodiacs that were mentioned.

It rang a bell in her mind and then she remembered Elysion, and Chronos being thrown in front of Tanzanite. She then raised her eyebrows wondering why the general queen hadn't killed her then as they probably wouldn't have this wall problem if she did. However she had enough brains to keep her mouth shut on the matter and so she just watched and listened.

Next it seemed Tanzanite spoke about their capture. Sass again didn't know much about what happened, she knew it was the BMC and she knew they had been tortured but she hadn't really been interested in what happened and her stomach churned a little when she heard what was being said. She was also suddenly grateful her family lived no where near Destiny City, it meant that even if the senshi could find out who she was her family was safe, right?

So Tanzanite asked a question, it was a simple one and seemed a little odd. Had the negaverse turned into kids without her realising? It was possible she didn't spend much time hanging out with her fellow negas, so she was generally out of the loop on a lot of things. She nodded her head and let out an agreement. She was a captain though, didn't she show she agreed with that every day? Maybe the question had been geared more towards the lieutenants.

As another General-Queen made her entrance Garnet barely gave her a glance. Not out of disrespect to her but mostly because she suddenly felt like taking her eyes off Tanzanite for even half a second would spell her doom. Stand your ground, stand your ground, stand yo--....

Garnet slowly looked away from Tanzanite to stare at Hematine with huge, widened eyes and a look on her face that did all the talking for her. What the s**t were you thinking?! That idiot! Why did he of all people reach out and touch the walking feather duster?! He hated touching people! Ugh. He was the dumbest smart guy ever. Finally Tanzanite spoke and Garnet snapped her attention immediately to the winged woman, raising a brow at her words. Tanzanite had asked her a question. All Garnet had done was acquiesce to her request. The General-Queen had posted her a challenge and she had accepted it like the proud little peacock she was. She did her best not to flinch as the woman came up and draped over the two of them, giving Hematine a glance to make sure he wasn't about to flip his s**t over being touched..especially by that arm. What was even..?! It was like it had been infected with the ugly disease!

Shut up, it was a legitimate disease.

Garnet was hesitant to walk as Tanzanite began to lead them across the room, swallowing hard. Keep calm. Don't lose it. What could she do? What would she do? She could do many things..oh yes. Especially considering they were merely lieutenants in this army. Oh s**t. Was she going to kill them? She probably could with little effort! Garnet was silent as the grave, keeping her lips tightly pressed so she wouldn't even be tempted to speak up. She looked out at the Rift and then down at the water. She...did not like where this was going. Garnet refused to let herself flinch at the sudden bark of Tanzanite's voice, her fists clenched and her eyes narrowed down at the water below them. Don't drop me, don't drop me, don't drop me! She was still, rigid, tense. Use whatever word you wanted to describe Garnet being terrified. Her words were harsh and she did finally wince and squirm at the part about the fingernails. ********, it hurt just breaking a nail! She didn't want to imagine peeling them back.

Tanzanite's little speech...it sounded so..personal. And then she gave names. This was definitely something that had actually happened to her. Her fists clenched tighter and tighter until her knuckles turned white and her neatly cared for nails were digging crescent marks until her palms, hands shaking. She refused to allow herself to shake anymore than that but it was enough. She got it. The point Tanzanite was making was clear.

"..Tan--" The hard shove against her back was definitely not something one could ignore. Her heels pressed hard against the floor to try and stop herself from going forward but it was a useless effort; Garnet was sent flying out of the window, and in a last ditch effort not to fall out she spun on her heel and reached out for Tazanite's hand. She missed, and then gravity caught up with her.

Zinkenite watched, and listened, it was the core of what he did and sometimes it was the safest place to stand. His eyes flicked to Apatite and her not so thinly veiled threats. He listened to the quips, met the stare that left him feeling uncomfortably naked and exposed with that licking of her lips like he was some tasty appetizer. A small shudder and he let his eyes drop and then rise again to find the other two; Tanzanite’s simmering quiet and Laurelites ever-knowing gaze.

Then the damned fool reached out and touched her, only to yank away like he’d touched something fowl, something putrid that might contaminate or infect. He went still then, almost predatory for his small stature and cold demeanor though he added nothing to the tirade that followed.

He glanced at Wolframite wide eyed to hear the details of what had happened, small wonder the new General had likely given out his own name. Thank god he had given nothing more, it was a miracle that he hadn’t in the face of such horrors. He gave a small nod, as much an acknowledgement as a quiet attempt to show the same respect that he gave to Tanzanite’s strange bestial nature.

Alkaid was a curiosity, he hadn’t seen her in some time and the transformation was spectacular and strange. Cracked like porcelain and calm and detached it seemed from that which surrounded her. All perhaps but Hematite and his own scathing opinions which for the most part he suspected were born of bitterness. The young man had been exceptionally close to, if at odds with Charonite from what he had seen. Dangerous as they were assumptions could be made from there.

A lack of soldiers, was that the root to the Queen’s demands of him? Kill those captured and replace them with the strong? The idea twisted, a small and dangerous distraction that would not be peaceably dismissed.
If her command held true though, that would remove not only Wolframite who’d been captured and held strong, but General Queen Tanzanite as well… Uranophane, so many others that it would have staggered them, perhaps crippled them. Small wonder he was ordered to keep these observations to himself.

If he’d managed to kill Virgo back then, would they be standing here? If he and Uranophane had somehow eliminated the Princess in her ridiculous shield that she had locked herself into… how many chances hat the people in this ROOM had to kill them and failed for one reason or another. By distraction or being outnumbered or being to weak at that time…perhaps injured. Fate’s fickle finger had written and moved on and left no time for brooding on what might have been.

“Madam…” He said with a small bow from the waist. If nothing else, he would be a soldier. He would do what he could to destroy this wall, to prevent it from being built. He had a few too many reasons that he must take it seriously.

Hearing the recant of events from mere months ago stilled him. Chilled him with a thin layer of figurative ice. What those captured suffered would always, undeniably, mark them. It was something even those within the rescue-party could hardly ever come to truly understand. Still - it was horrifying.

But they were not children that needed consoling. No amount of consolation would heal those old wounds. They needed to be strong. harness their pain, hate, rage, sorrow, and use it. To be soldiers. A tight knit family of soldiers, ready to fight, sometimes - often times - without questioning why. Sacrifices, of course, would be made along the way. They'd win some, they'd lose some, but that was the very nature of war.

When Garnet and Hematine had been escorted over to one of the holes in the wall and left his field of vision, Bismuthite's gaze finally quit boring in to them, and returned to the ground where he customarily knelt. They rose again when the Youma Queen asked for a simple reply.

"Yes, General-Queen. Emphatically."

Painite listened with her own brand of patience as the information she wanted was disseminated between people acting out and other things she had no real interest in. It was the idea of some kind of wall that had her focus.

What they needed was a good, old fashioned plot.

When her lieutenants spoke she couldn't help but smile, glancing at Jarosite and Benitoite before nodding her head in agreement.

"We are your warriors," she said, more speaking for the Negaverse at large then any of its power figures in particular, or rather including any of them. She didn't seem worried, but it was difficult to get her to leap ahead of herself in that sense. A challenge was presented, and it was a chance to counter, come up with something unexpected, and fight the senshi in a way they weren't ready for. It was a chance to come up with the ultimately devious plot, trap, and she wouldn't be true to herself if that didn't make her excited.

She did know how serious the situation was, or could be, though. she wouldn't forget that.

"We just need a plan." Sure, the whole camp thing hadn't quite worked out, and some of her other attempts to capture senshi or drain energy en masse had been foiled, but when did that ever stop any of them? And if they didn't fight, the senshi wouldn't even need a wall. What would be the point of sitting back and taking it? No one present, save maybe the exception of very few, would settle for that.

Fluorite tried not to grin when the two mouthy lieutenants got thrown out the window, struggled not to let her expression shift from the serious mask it had settled in. Not to their death, the sound of water revealed - thankfully - but hopefully that would teach them a lesson. Meetings were that - meetings. Professionalism was key.

And Tanzanite could be as endlessly patient as she could easily rip your s**t apart if you found her buttons and started pushing them like a moron. That was something she'd learned very, very intimately in the multiple spars they'd had.

At least she'd never got thrown out a window.

"Yes." This was all Tanzanite wanted, and this was all Tanzanite got. Fluorite might once have been one of those battering children, but now she was a soldier.

Tanzanite had made her that way.

Alunite didn't get to enjoy the moment as much as his sister did - his attention went to Alkaid when her voice caught his attention, and he gave her a small nod. He was glad he had gotten to see her before this, gotten the shock and surprise out of the way there rather than in the middle of a meeting which already seemed to be turning sour. He found it easier to look at her now that he'd already seen her, and had time to process what had happened, and how.

His thoughts were similar to Azurite's, unknowingly - that the one of them who had sought to find them a way of respect and purpose had been the one to find it. Alkaid had traced them a path.

How many of them would walk it ?

Could he find the strength to walk it ?

He would obey any who asked something of him, but there were an handful to which he would obey without question. Alkaid... had always been one of them, even before.

Many answered the General Queen, with more or less words, but Alunite's answer was silent.

He knelt, head lowered, staring at the floor once more.

All Tanzanite needed to tell him was jump, and how high.

A soldier. She had to be a soldier. The word echoed around Azurite's brain even as she tried to slide herself unobtrusively to stand between Alkaid and Hematite in a sort of half-sandwich. They were both so much more powerful than her, both of them knew what they wanted out of the Negaverse, they had defined roles that made them confident and strong.

But she had to be a soldier. That word more than any that had been uttered in this entire meeting was the one that caused the young woman to shudder. Wasn't that what she had been running from? Why she had worked so hard to get the hell out of the Congo? Yet apparently she was some sort of mystical warrior from the stars who had to serve. The pink-haired woman seemed rather jolly about the whole thing whereas Tanzanite was telling a story worthy of nightmares.

Was it any wonder she wanted to hide? If she did hide, it would harm her irreparably in the eyes of all the watching Negaverse agents. The corrupt senshi were somehow effectively useless to them? Worse was the idea that they were beneath the rest of those who served.

What had she gotten herself into?

A quiet voice said that she had not chosen this but all that was left was to make the most out of it and do the very best she could. They would win, she would survive, and everyone would see that she could be perhaps even half as worth as Alkaid had become. Azurite simply needed time. Her head nodded and her voice was soft. "Understood." Even quieter was the whisper that seemed somewhat forlorn. "I think..."

Osumilite couldn't hold back his laughter as the two younger lieutenants were tossed out the window. Hell, he didn't even try to hold back. His laughter, however, was short-lived. Once Tanzanite mentioned the possibility of his family being in danger - his son - he couldn't find any humor in the world. The idea of Chelsea or Liam being hurt scared him more than anything he could imagine, and it was certainly no laughing matter.

"Understood," he bowed, his expression speaking volumes for his apology for laughing. There was an unsettling vibe in his stomach, an immediate worry about his family's well-being. He knew that this war made the world a dangerous risky place, but he thought that as a member of the Negaverse he would be able to protect them. He never considered it could put their lives in even more danger.

Wolframite was only familiar with Hematite from ages past. He was still new to the game, and Hematite was a superior officer. Typically, this would mean he would give him a great deal of respect, but he hadn't seen the officer in some time, and in that time, he had risen to the same rank, and there was new management changes. In that time gap, Wolframite was surprised that he didn't much care for the other officer, mostly due to the way he poked him with his blade. Wolframite did not like blades of any sort, no matter who was handling them, near his person. He had enough sharp weapons around him to last a lifetime and liked to avoid them when he could. What he liked even les was for anyone to insult Charonite, a man that Wolframite respected and who made him an officer, when that man wasn't around to defend himself.

This caused Wolframite to rise, and his hands clenched as he glared at the general. "How dare you even..." He wanted to summon his own weapon then and there, but he had already once been put in line for disrespecting Tanzanite during a meeting when they first entered the Rift. He wasn't about to insult her by doing it again, but he found he wasn't caring much for the officer he once envied ages ago. Times really had changed. It seemed that while Hematite had mistaken Wolframite's bow for groveling, Wolframite mistook the laughing as something more cruel than it was.

On his feet, it was Apatite who got his attention, and he looked up as she leapt down and addressed them all. It wasn't a very comforting speech she gave, and the way she looked at them made Wolframite beyond uncomfortable. She probably would have made her point more clear if Wolframite wasn't wondering what senshi was named Bella.

It was a good thing that Tanzanite spoke up again to break the chattering that was sure to turn into bickering if left alone, and Wolframite stood tall once more, only to find that he wished Tanzanite never spoke at all. There had been little talk about "that time", and he had found out of the few remaining survivors from the BMCs' torture had been either closed off or unwilling to talk about it. Without discussion, without talking about it, the wound that Tanzanite was opening out, speaking up for once about, all the more sensitive and far from healing. When he realized she was starting to talk about it, he felt his stomach turn - and while she gave him a look to apologize, she continued. He didn't like this talk, especially in front of everyone, and he felt sick hearing about it again. His hand lightly touched his ear, the skin still soft, and if someone was to really look hard, they could make out the faint outline of the burn area that traveled down his ear and neck.

As he looked away, he caught Zink's gaze and quickly darted his eye away, feeling ashamed once more for revealing even a little bit of information to those BMC bastards.

He already knew that he wanted no one to go through that. Not his family or members of the Negaverse, no matter how much he might dislike someone. That time was forever burned into his memory that even Tanzanite speaking about it made his heart race and remember her distant screaming from down that dark, endless hallway. The smell of charred tissue. That song......

"Yes..Understood." He whispered.

The guardian cat affectionately rested against Fukalite’s leg, bringing out a sincere smile. She was about to bend down to scoop the feline into her arms, but someone beat her to it. Mint green eyes curiously observed the other girl, taking in her red pigtails and the black wings. Coupled with the energy, the lieutenant soon realized that she was looking at a corrupted senshi, and judging by the energy level, eternal. She attempted to smile politely as the senshi took Dahlia away, leaving the lieutenant by herself again. Reluctantly, she returned her thoughts back to the general discussion.

There were a few chatty lieutenants—Fukalite pursed her lips as they spoke, she figured it was wiser to remain silent—and brief mention about Princess Chronos and the Zodiac Guard. Her face crinkled at the names. The events that people were mentioning were before her time, perhaps well before. She could only assume that this ‘Zodiac Guard’ were senshi based on the –no surprise—Zodiac constellations and strong enough to be somewhat of a threat. Slowly, more powerful energies began to appear. Fukalite stoically watched as Ascendant General Alkaid made her appearance and the another General-Queen—the lieutenant narrowed her eyes at her, she had never seen her before—compared them all to Bella. Fukalite grimaced. The last she wanted to be compared to was Bella.

An army. She remained mute at Tanzanite’s reprimand. So this was what she had signed for? Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes and then opened them again.

“Understood.”

Resting against one of the few intact walls, Esperite didn't dare to open his mouth after the display he just witnessed. Usually, he would have tried to chime in with some kind of input or at least some words of wisdom to help diffuse some of the tension. Not so much as a means of helping the group, but as a way to improve his standing with his superiors. However, even his heart strings were pulled a bit by the horrific picture that Tanzanite painted when it came to dealing with the senshi, especially the group led by Ares. Thankfully, Esperite had never encountered them and he hoped to keep it that way since that group seemed to be the worst of the filthy senshi that plagued their city. These sentiments didn't last long as he noticed the strong sense of camaraderie that filled the air after the General-Queen finished her speech. Regardless of their internal state, they were all in this together. As far as Esperite was concerned, they had to have some basic form of trust between them since they were facing more and more danger with the arrival of the Knights. Standing up straight, he too spoke loud and clear.

"Understood. I'll do my best not to fail the planet."

Keeping quiet a few moments afterward, he then moved from the back corner to where he heard a voice he didn't recognize speak about a plan. Jealous, but still impressed, the lieutenant wished he would have suggested the same. Though certainly more frustrated than before, he still wished to explore the idea further since a plan seemed their best bet. Making his way closer to Painite, he placed a hand on her left shoulder for a moment to gain her attention.

"Excuse me; I believe you are the one who suggested formulating a plan in order to combat this new threat. Personally, I couldn't agree more. Do you have any suggestions as to where we should start?"

Esperite was put at ease when he noticed that she was in fact, a General and thus someone he could look up to and respect. If it had been another lieutenant, he would have had a much harder time controlling his envy and disdain. Fortunately for the crimson eyed lieutenant, he was addressing a General and could show the proper respect.

"I think before we start formulating plans we should, perhaps, learn all the information that General Queen Tanzanite has to depart to us." Bismuthite finally said, tone short, clipped, and obviously irritated.

Seriously, people were putting the cart before the horse. Tanzanite had barely been able to start telling them to full extent what she knew and had called them here for. He was tired of it. He saw it as disrespect, even if some did not mean it to be so, and Tanzanite was one of the few whom he could not tolerate others disrespecting. She had brought him in to this army, promoted him, even. He owed a lot of respect to her. And thus, he would apologize for his own interruption;

"My apologize for speaking out, General Queen."

Painite glanced at Esperite when he touched her shoulder, arching an eyebrow. She wasn't sure if she had seen him before, but sometimes she couldn't keep track of everyone she met in passing or at these meetings. That usually made her feel bad, in fact, but she did her best.

She grinned at the Lieutenant, nodding her head.

"I did just that," she said, nodding her head to confirm the voice he heard belonged to the steampunk outfitted General. At his question, though, she looked thoughtful for a long moment. The blank metaphorical drawing board was always the hardest place. She was hoping that whatever had been covered would be a jumping off point for a proper plan of action.

They wouldn't just be called here to be told they were losing, and why, would they? Sure, it looked bad, but that was what they thrived in, wasn't it? They were meeting in a place filled with angry youma: things that looked bad were just a challenge to be surmounted.

"Always start with what you know. I believe our superior might know far more than I do at the moment."
