Riley watched Malodore walk onward with a fond, gentle expression, but she froze in place when the voice whispered to us. It was Armida - there was no mistaking it, she knew it instantly. Armida, and she was talking to her.
There was something.. she couldn't think of a word for how that felt. It was almost as if Malodore's world and hers were finally colliding in one mess of intertangled connections. To where its memories, which would haunt her as if they were her very own, suddenly became her own simply by becoming a part of them.
She turned her head, just slightly, and wide eyes looked at the crow, directly into the eyes that now saw for more than just itself, and nodded her silent promise.

"Va bene," the crow said, and then the sense of presence dissolved. Fedele cawed, then fanned out one wing, as if nothing had happened. And perhaps, from his point of view, nothing had.
Malodore pivoted at the end of the room and came back, utterly unaware of what had just transpired. "I believe I have the hang of it... though I think it's time for a rest," it said, rolling its shoulders with a wince. "But every day helps, si?"

Riley looked a little shaken when Malodore had her attention once more, but she sobered up as quickly as possible, and took several quick steps to stand in front of it. Her hands slipped into its claws, and she looked at the plague doctor in front of her for a moment. Her plague doctor. Her eyes fluttered closed as she delivered a long, lingering kiss into its mind. When she pulled out, she nodded, speaking as if she hadn't done anything as intimate as she had.
Yes. It's time to rest. She agreed, leading it backwards.

"Mm." Malodore leaned against her and lightly rubbed the side of its beak against her cheek. "An excellent plan."
