At the sound of the kibble, Luce sprang up from her slumber, immediately gluing herself to Christof's legs, keeping her warm side pressed to the patchwork as she gave him adoring eyes.
Feeeeeeeeeeeed meeeeeeeeee.
Malodore chuckled.

The hunchback smiled softly, even happier for this distraction as he stooped to give her her bowl. She was getting bigger, but still much more pleasant than Scruff. Still crouched, he gave her a good pet before letting her eat in peace. Working in silence seemed to work best for him, it would seem, although there were things he was itching to discuss...
But not was not the time. Well, never was really the time but. Oh, his head was hurting. Hopefully the Plague Doctor would fall asleep soon and he could go back to quiet lurking, maybe a bit of homework.

Luce thumped her tail at the pat, but all her attention was focused on the bowl. The instant the bowl hit the floor she buried her face in the kibble, and the sound of munching, crunching, and omph gomphing filled the room.
"Grazie," Malodore said; it did not yawn, that would be silly and useless. But it was most definitely drifting off. "Molto.... grazie."
Zzzzzzzzzzzz.

It needed more rest, that much was for sure. Trembling, he moved quietly back to the Plague Doctor's bedside, leaving the little pup to her dinner, to quietly sit in the chair nearby, scribbling a note to fold and tuck under the bedside lamp for later.
That done, he checked again to see that Malodore had fallen asleep properly before refilling the glass of water once more and slipped out. He could go find his homework to do in the room, it would be fine for just a little bit.
Inside it's folds, under the lamp, the note read:
Thank you for asking.
