"Which ever you would like to do is fine with me." Lyra smiled at her friend, nuzzling against her affectionately before smiling again. "I could fly or walk with you....as long as we are still able to talk. I find that I quite enjoy our conversations together. They amuse me to no end." The vixen wrapped her tail around the armored vixen, "I am very pleased that you agreed to be friends with me."

Feeling Lyra nuzzle her Merrill swallowed hard. Talking would be easier on the ground. “Alright lets walk then. I think it’d be easier than shouting above the wind and other things that make noise in the air like geese. You know when I was flying once a whole herd of geese nearly flew into me? Oh no wait I think geese are a flock. Yes a flock I’m sure of it. I’m glad you like talking to me. I like talking to you to, but most who know me tell me I just like talking. You don’t think I talk to much do you?” Merrill looked at Lyra and used a paw to lift her hair out from in front of her face. She wondered how Lyra could be comfortable with her tail wrapped around armor like she had it, still Merrill kept her mouth shut and bit back all of her next set of questions not wanting to annoy her friend.

"I find your talking very refreshing. I cannot abide by quiet people. I would much rather be bombarded by questions then sit in a silent stupor." Lyra smiled at her friend softly as she continued walking. "I enjoy talking with you Merrill, so you will never have to worry about talking too much with me. Alright?" She chuckled as she pulled her tail back and wagged it behind her happily.

Merrill grinned like a cat that ate the canary. “That’s wonderful I think. You see I was worried that my talking bothered you and I was doing my best to hold back some of the things that might seem prying to you like how I was wondering if your tail on my armor hurt you. I really really hope it didn’t. Don’t worry I’ll remember I don’t have to hold anything back with you. It makes me feel better. A lot better, almost like I could just fly without even flapping my wings." Her wings shook once as Merrill suppressed the urge to flap them.

"It didn't hurt me...but it was cold so...I guess you could say that it was more uncomfortable." Lyra chuckled as she looked at her friend, "But I do not mind your talking. Not in the least Merrill...In fact...as I said before I like it." She smiled, "And I am glad that you feel better. I want you to be completely comfortable around me...Like I am with you." She chuckled, "I feel like I could talk to you about anything."

“Oh I’m sorry. I guess I could leave my armor outside the den in the sun so that it warms up. Inside it’ll just get all color again.” Merrill looked up the trees around them trying to remember the way to go and how things would look on the ground. She kept going figuring she must be sort of in the right direction. She shuffled her wings and looked at Lyra. “Oh I’m comfortable talking about anything with you already. I like you a lot Lyra.”

"Oh you don't have to do that." Lyra looked at her friend and blushed, "I do not mind it if your armor is cold. i wouldn't want to take the chance that anything would happen to it outside." She shook her head, smiling. "Honestly it is alright with me. I promise." Lyra continued walking for a little while before looking back at her.
"It warms my heart to hear you say this Merrill." Lyra blushed prettily, "I admit that I have become...quite taken with you. You are so remarkably different from anyone I have ever met."

Smiling Merrill hummed to herself in her head thinking how lucky she was that Lyra was looking out for her and her armor too. “Well I could always hide it under something, oh but then the sun wouldn’t reach it would it? I guess I’ll just take my armor off when I get inside my den and put it in a corner. This way I don’t have to worry about it hurting you and you don’t have to worry about anything happening to it.” Merrill was happy that Lyra was happy. Her own heart felt rather warm but she wondered if it was something she ate. It didn’t hurt or anything, just felt different. “mm of course you’re taken with me. I couldn’t let you stay in my den if I left you behind could I?” Merrill stopped and stared. In the bushes to her left was a piece of paper. It was one of hers. She leaned over and picked it up with her mouth. “’ere cluse.” She mumbled around the paper.

Lyra chuckled as she shook her head. "Yes....You couldn't well leave me behind." She thought it was rather sweet that Merrill misunderstood what she was trying to say. And honestly it was too soon after meeting ht vixen to fully allow her to know what she was really thinking. The fact was that Lyra really liked her, maybe was even a little...attracted to her.
"Pardon?" The vixen cocked her head to the side as the muffled words escaped the armored vixen's mouth. The words sounded like nonsense to her, but obviously were supposed to hold some kind of meaning.

Merrill nodded stratified that Lyra seemed happy enough. “’ere cluse oo meh en.” Merrill raised a paw and tapped the paper that was in her mouth. She started to look around and spotted more familiar shrubbery. Grinning around the paper she started off toward her den. Every so often she saw a piece of parchment and picked it up, by the time she was at the entrance to her den she had four pieces of paper in her mouth and one under a wing and two or three wrapped up with her tail. She never expected Lyra to pick up any of her papers that she found. She smiled at the entrance to her den that had one or two pieces of paper scattered. A small animal must have wanted into her den and scattered these pieces and moved the others that Merril now held so that the pieces ended up scattering. Merrill wondered which of her stacks she would find tipped over. She sighed and plowed into her den to see the damage done.

Lyra continued to stare at her baffled. One minutes passed, then another. Finally she deciphered the words as 'We're close to my den'. Chuckling, the phim nodded her head then started to follow the armored vixen. It was odd that every now and then the phim was picking up a piece of paper and shoving it on her person.
Wondering what they were, and was she was picking them up Lyra could barely contain her tongue. But she knew that even if she asked the question, Merrill wouldn't be able to talk.
"Oh...is this your den?" She stopped in front of it.

Spitting out the paper’s from her mouth onto the tipped over pile she started to unload the other paper’s she had tucked on herself. “Yep, home sweet home. Come on in.” The first ten feet of Merril’s den seems decent enough rocky small entrance widening up in a large circular cave with a few small side caves branching off it. The main circle was filled with books and papers in messy stacks her and there, strange small objects littering the place. “I know it’s messy, but I swear I do clean, sometimes. I just never really have anything in front of the door so small things come go and I swear they leave a mess every time.” She started to restack her paper mess that was before her.

Lyra chuckled, "Wow...." Walking into the den she couldn't help looking around. And honestly, it was just as she pictured it. Surprisingly enough. Laughing, she looked around the place as she walked behind her friend. "I like it Merrill....It's very....you." She smiled as she stopped and sat on her haunches. "No....It's not messy...It's organized chaos." The phim grinned as she nudged an item on the floor.
She had never seen anything like it, and it intrigued her. Cocking her head to the side she studied the item intensely trying to figure out it's purpose.

”You really think it’s me?” Merrill looked at Lyra over her shoulder smiling. “Most other foxes just called me messy but I know where everything is. Ummm this book could you put it over on that stack?” She gestured to one of several stacks of messy papers and books. “Oh what are you looking at Lyra?” She moved over toward her friend curious about what Lyra had found in her den.
There were a few small carved figured that were made by other foxes in Merrill’s tribe before she left it, and a few pieces of broken glass from what human’s gazed into day after day that showed their reflections. Amongst other misilanious do-dads and nick-knacks.

"Of course..." Lyra looked over at her, "It's only important that you know where things are. Oh...this..." The phim nudged the stature again, "Its gold...shiny...and really cold to the touch. And there is this funny looking man with a pointy beard. What is his purpose?"
The gentle vixen tilted her head to the side as she looked at Merrill, wanting her friend to shed some light on the treasure that Lyra had unearthed.
